You quickly fly into the air, attempting to out-maneuver the spheres of ki that Beerus is sending. You deftly dodge each ball as it comes, keeping pace and letting them fly past you. Goku is having similar success, and when the moment presents itself, you quickly grab his arm and mutter "Kai-kai", disappearing behind a nearby mountain behind Beerus.

"We can't keep this up," Goku says. "We can't even get in to hit him!"

"I know," you tell your friend. "We have to fuse if we want to get close to matching him."

Goku nods. "Alright, let's do it."

You nod back to Goku, and the two of you assume the position to begin the Fusion Dance.

"Fuuuuu... sion! HA!"

As the points of your fingers touch, a blinding light shines out, likely catching Beerus's attention. You rise out of the mountain range, as your fused self, Toku.

"Well well," Beerus remarks, approaching you. "Looks like someone knows the Metamoran fusion dance."

"That's right," you tell him while pointing. "Now things will be a little more even!"

"Don't be so sure," Beerus chides. "You might have powered up a little, but you're still mere space dust compared to the planet that is me."

You stare him down in response, and seconds later, you unleash the full extent of your fused power, activating Super Saiyan and fueling it with Godly ki. The resulting output of energy turns your hair blue, as well as tinting the traditional golden aura of the Super Saiyan blue.

"Huh..." Beerus thinks. "Super Saiyan... with God ki... this seems familiar..."

Sensing an opening, you rush at the God with a diving kick, aiming to make him lose his concentration further. Unfortunately, when you're about to make contact, Beerus catches your foot, and nonchalantly tosses you aside while still pondering.

Angry, you throw yourself at him again, trying to break his guard with a flurry of punches, which the God dodges effortlessly, not even looking at you as he does so. Despite this, you keep up the barrage, until...

"WAIT!" Beerus puts up a finger to block your punch, which despite being just one little finger, feels like punching a concrete wall.

"That was it! That was the dream I had!" He looks at you like he just spotted a five-star buffet.

"Um... dream?" You ask, somewhat taken aback.

"I've had this prophetic dream for quite a while now," he explains. "That soon, I would find a warrior to challenge me sincerely, to be my rival. I wasn't quite able to remember the name of it, but now I do: it was the Super Saiyan God."

"Super Saiyan God...?" You look at yourself, taking note of the blue Super Saiyan aura emanating from you. "I guess I'd be one of those," you admit.

"Hmm... my dreams have never been wrong. But you, well, I don't mean to insult you, but you're not a challenge. Not even close!" Beerus turns away from you, scratching his chin. "Perhaps my dream was wrong after all... it would be the first time."

"Hmph. Well, you're not the rival I'm seeking." Beerus turns his back to you, and rises toward the sky. You sense he's gathering an enormous amount of energy.

You mutter Kai-kai under your breath, and appear above Beerus. With a shout, you deliver the godly-power Bear Claw to the back of the God's head, giving him a whiplash blow that knocks the wind out of his mouth.

He turns to you, annoyed, but not harmed.

"I might just be that rival," you tell him while grinning. "We'll just have to find out."

"Is that so..." he mutters, sounding sinister. "Then, dodge this."

Before your eyes, Beerus vanishes and reappears a hundred feet above you, and channels a swath of ki the size of himself above his finger.

He points at you, and the ball shoots your way at an incredible speed. If that thing hits you, you're done for.

As the blast shoots toward you, the realization hits you that if you dodge this, it may destroy the Earth. You can't risk that. Not again.

Spreading your arms wide, and summoning every ounce of power you can, you stand your ground against the coming blast, which gets bigger before your eyes. Is Beerus channeling energy into it as it flies at you? It doesn't matter; you can't let it detonate!

You brace yourself as the blast nears you, and put your arms forward to catch it. It pushes you back a few feet, but you catch your bearing and stand firm, keeping it from moving forward any more. It's a struggle just to hold firm, but you stop the movement of the blast. For how long, who knows, but you've got it for now.

"Is that the limit of your power?" Beerus taunts you, and you feel ki being siphoned into the blast, making it grow bigger as you hold it. Yeah, he's adding more, and you don't know how much longer you can hold onto it for...

For some reason, the blast seems to ease up in pressure, though you still feel ki being added to it. You open your eyes, and look down to see Kori, in her Super Saiyan state, pushing the blast next to you.

"Kori! Run! It's dangerous here!" You warn her.

"No!" She shouts back. "If you fight alone, you'll die!"

"She's right," a voice from your other side remarks. You turn around to see Piccolo, now adding his own power against the blast. "We'll all die too, if we don't help you."

From where these two came from, you see more of your friends flying toward you to join in the push. Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chi-Chi, Chaozu, Konnatsu, Lapis, Lazuli, Roshi, and even Shen fly to your side and push against the mass of energy, relieving the bulk of its weight from your hands.

You smile at the help of your friends.

"Let's do this, everyone! Push it back toward him!"

You focus your energy into your hands, and with a yell, push with everything you have, in an attempt to send the ball back to who it came from. You feel a deep power churn up from inside you, and with another strong yell, release it explosively to force the ball back. Your friends join you, screaming and pushing as hard as they can against the sphere of Godly ki.

At the height of your power, your perspective splits, and you find yourself slightly left of where you were before. You look to your side, and see Goku, pushing with everything he has in his heightened Super Saiyan state. You thought Metamoran fusion lasted 30 minutes, but you won't question it now; instead you push with everything, using your Kuma-ken and Godly ki to maximize your power. Everyone else pushing uses the Kaio-ken or Kuma-ken if they're capable, and finally, the ball begins to relent.

"Wait, what?!" You hear Beerus yell from the other side. "There's no way!"

"THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY!" You shout at the God, and cup your hands as you push, building ki. Goku follows suit, and so does everyone else, once they catch on. You chant in unison; "Ka... me... ha... meee..."

Beside you appears Trunks, who you didn't spot before, charging his own blast in Kuma-ken. He smiles at you quickly, before you both push forward.

"HAAAAAAAAA!"

Fifteen beams of energy reverse the large sphere's trajectory, pushing it back toward Beerus.

The ball of destructive energy swiftly makes its way back toward the God of Destruction, who recoils attempting to save himself, but it's no use. His own blast strikes him, and you hear a yell of pain.

The whole group powers down from their heightened forms, very exhausted, as the flash of detonation light fades. Everyone looks toward where the ball went in dread, hoping that would be the end of everything.

You know better, though. In the direction of a ball stands a scorched, irate Beerus.

"You underestimate me, Earthlings," he says grimly.

Once again, he rises high into the sky, and begins building ki. This time, however, he doesn't even try to hide what he's doing; within seconds, he's summoned a ball of energy the size of a boulder, which builds more mass, until it becomes as large as a skyscraper.

"This will be the end, mortals," Beerus says with a yawn. You grit your teeth in contempt. You did everything you could... but Earth was doomed from the moment this God set foot on it.

"Say, ahhhh, goodbye to your..."

You blink. Is the energy getting smaller?

It is. Within a few seconds, the energy disperses, and Beerus is floating there... sleeping.

"Oh my," you hear behind you. You whip around to see his attendant, Whis, standing behind you. You drop into your fighting stance, but Whis just laughs playfully. "Looks like Lord Beerus couldn't hold out any longer."

"Wait, does that mean we're safe?" Goku asks.

"Of course," Whis responds. "You did interrupt his sleep, after all. He can't stay awake forever. Ohoho!"

You breathe a sigh of relief. The nightmare is finally over.

"I will take Lord Beerus back to his planet now," Whis says, putting an arm out toward the floating Beerus and bringing him closer, unnerving everybody. "Tofoo, we will see you again when Lord Beerus awakens."

"Wait, why?!" The worst thoughts run through your mind.

"For the pizza you promised," Whis teases. "I'll warn you now, Lord Beerus is a mighty eater, though his table manners could use some work."

"Sounds like someone I know," you say, side-eyeing Goku, who laughs.

"Thank you for entertaining Lord Beerus, even if you didn't expect to," the attendant tells you. "I know he won't admit it, but the reversal at the end was likely quite fun for him. You'll be on his mind for some time, I bet."

With that, Whis taps his staff to the ground, and bids farewell, shooting off in beams of light with his lord.

You exhale deeply, and fall onto the ground, allowing your body to rest.

You slowly awaken much later, unsure of how much time has passed. You sit up, appearing to be in your room at Capsule Corp. Clutching your pained body, you look around, The lights are out. You reach to turn on the lamp next to your bed, and see a glass of water and a Senzu bean sitting on the nightstand. You smile, and pop the Senzu in your mouth, eating it and restoring your mostly-regained vitality.

You open the door, and see it's pretty late outside. The sky is completely black, lit up with the most beautiful stars you've ever seen. It's wonderful to be back home, no enemies in sight.

A thought crosses your mind, that you haven't seen your family since the Cell Games began. You walk down the hallway, seeing if any lights are on.

Suddenly, you hear something coming from the far end of the hall. A light is on, shadows are dancing... and you hear the sounds of fighting!

Crossing into the room, you drop into a fighting stance to confront...

Trunks, Kori, Konnatsu, and Trunks from the future playing a video game. It's some kind of fighting game, with characters that seem familiar to you... are they playing on the World Martial Arts Tournament stage?

"Hey, dad! Check it out!" Your son pauses the game and holds up the case for it - "WMAT Champions No27" - it's a fighting game based on the WMAT. You look on the screen, and indeed, it looks like they're playing as various fighters from the last few tournaments. Younger Trunks is playing as Mr. Satan; Kori is playing as Goku, who is twelve in the game, modeled after his debut tournament; Konnatsu is playing as Piccolo, who is named Majunior in-game; and future Trunks is playing as... wait, is that you?!

"Do you like it?" You look to the other corridor, where Bulma comes out, wearing a red scarf and white shirt, smiling at you. "The WMAT asked for the rights to your likeness to make a video game, and I told them yes."

"I like you more," you say as you walk over to your wife, pulling her in for a kiss. "But yes, I do like it."

Your wife smiles, and the two of you walk over to the game, which you observe with interest. "So, am I the strongest character, or what?"

"Actually, Uncle Tofoo," Konnatsu starts to explain, "You're kind of in the middle."

"Ouch. So who's the best?"

Konnatsu hands you a phone, which has something called a 'tier list' pulled up on it. "That will tell you."

You shrug, and watch the match to its completion. Surprisingly, the younger Trunks gets everyone with a triple ring-out, clenching the match for him.

"Haha, yeah!" Trunks celebrates and flies into the air, showboating as the older girls grumble, and future Trunks just laughs.

After another few matches, the older Trunks stands up. "Well, I have to get back to the future soon."

"Aww, why?" Kori asks him. "It's so much fun having you here!"

"But I'm right here," the younger Trunks says, irritated.

"The Androids have been defeated, and Cell too. Hopefully there aren't any more, but even if there are, you shouldn't have any trouble handling them." He looks at you with a smile, and you smile back. You give your son a hug, and you all walk outside with him to see him off.

"It was nice getting to see you, Dad," he tells you. "I'll tell Mom in the future all about our adventures."

"Good luck, son. We'll miss you," you tell him. He smiles and nods, tossing a capsule out, which expands into his time machine.

"Keep up your training, and never give up," you continue. "I'm proud of you."

His eyes light up as you say that. "I won't."

"Make sure you introduce yourself to King Kai when you get back as well," you say. "He can probably find a way to get your Dragon Balls back. If Mr. Popo is still alive, he might be able to help you find a new Guardian," you insinuate.

Trunks nods at you thankfully as he lifts himself into the time machine. The gears on it begin to turn, and the craft lifts itself into the air. Your son waves goodbye through the glass, and you, Bulma, young Trunks, Kori, and Konnatsu all wave back, wishing him well. Soon the pod disappears in a blink of light.

The shine fades, and night returns to the sky. You hold your wife's hand warmly, and you gaze upon the stars.

I don't want to continue running this, in case Som ever comes back, but I'll be running my own quest sometime this week when I've got enough planned.

It has been one hell of a ride guys even if we had to end with a different QM we made it.
From the really bad to some moments I will always treasure.
I wish you all the best as even though we fought sometimes we all made it to the end together.

I'm marathoning the series right now, I'm mid season 2 and I'm surprised how well it's held up. It's gotten a lot of genuine laughs out of me. And Tohru is the best Japanese character in western media ever

Thank you Not-Som for giving (for now), a satisfying ending to Som's quests. Knowing it's Som approved only makes it more satisfying, and holy hell getting a 99 and a 100 was one insane way to end things. Hope your Jackie Chan Adventures Quest goes well. I know I'll be excited to see it get going.
