Last thread , a long time ago, a golden age was reached and with it, expansion in just about everything but land... on that front, news was just coming through from the north of the continent. Something had happened, but what?

The word was first brought by Reptian merchants, that a grand battle had taken place in the forests of Western Lopen. There, among the giant trees and the treetop ropeways that their main settlement is known for, the ferals had been repelled; and by none other than the allied forces led by Ier. Word spoke of how he fell from his steed and the ferals fell upon him, but as they did so, they fell to the ground, dead. He cut his way up out of the heap, and led the final charges himself. Ier the Warrior-King, as his men are now calling him, then proceeded to negotiate an agreement with the devastated Western Lopenei, and from that, the control of Isarn now stretches from the West of the continent to the East. The border is theirs. Dark news, indeed.

-A large field outside Ierok shall be cleared and set up as the “Ascendant Field” with a grand bazaar, rentable tents and room for the events to set up
-Foreign merchants can pay a cheap fee to peddle at the event
Messengers will be sent out to all nations with Ghoulish populations inviting them to the event. The Tyrant himself will arrange a personal visit to Reptia to talk with the Archon and invite him to the event/promote it.

In response to the move by Isarn, Reptia's own merchants seem to be playing it loose and fast with the Nakh. It's unclear if this is being incentivized by the government, but they're turning the other way as your own ships come increasingly under fire in the waters by vessels held by these same individuals. There are talks of some form of blockade being put in place by the Reptian merchants who are still present in Ier, though they are meeting an increasingly hostile crowd as well. This has led to the Ascendant Games being somewhat less well received than hoped, though Lopenei and ghouls of all walks of life do show up. The talk with the Archon did not occur, in fact. Of course, rather obviously, gnolls are not present, except for the odd Isarnite bearing exotic slaves. The fact that the Lopenei are left out of the events is seen with some disdain by their populations, of course. Spring's light did show its head at last though.

E. Raise Tariffs on all Reptain goods unless they cease these hostile actions.

D. In the Thera District construct the “Tyrant’s Armory” a large building constructed for the purpose of holding a large store of arrows, spearheads and armor for the purpose of war, all things men are not required to have by the constitution.
For armor the Smiths of the district have gathered to create a more standardized Ieran armor set. Combining both the strong defense of the Lar style armor with the greater mobility of the Lamellar style. With Lamellar for the main body and skirt for protection, a strong helmet with face wrap for the deflection of bows, strong plate over the shoulders and down the arms with similar protection on the legs.

Tariffs are raised on the Reptians, but the only real consequence this has seen is the furthering of economic instability in both markets with economic goods being more expensive lowering purchases, and thus the amount of money flowing through circulation and disabling merchants who relied on said trade. While that in and of itself might have calmed the issue, some rogue wolves appear to be striking at Reptian boats themselves, and swindlers—or as they call themselves, enforcers—have popped up to protect boats as they make the increasingly embattled cross.

The Tyrant's armory is constructed, though its expense seems somewhat unjustified as the public as well as many civil servants, as many of the citizens of Ier own their own equipment already (be it holdovers from the war or more recent purchases out of fear).

The giant specific events are welcomed, and further strengthen your bonds with the Lopenei. The expanse of the time gap is also appreciated, as it gives more time for Ier to prepare itself and for the contestants and merchants to prepare as well. Despite this, the economic instability is ironically stable as the new elections are held. With Tarhan as a popular Tyrant, with no real tarnishes on his reputation, his successor is hoped to be seen by the voting public as someone who continues the Golden Age that still continues, no matter how fragile the international political scene is.

One of the Painted Ghouls steps forward from the small gathering of their peers..
“I am Baer of Enkir's blood, long have my people studied and dwelt on the outskirts, watching and studying so that we might aid the Tyranny and make us all strong. We plan to push a number of things while Tyrant if you so decide to elect us so”. The Ghoul takes a moment to pause to look around the room.
“Firstly we shall work on our capacity to act over the Great Water. Improving our fleets and weapons protecting them. Second we shall arm and prepare of Ier, he will come for us sooner or later. Thirdly increase the role of the Faith in our culture for it has never failed us and we must keep it strong, but not only that we must teach our ways to others. There is more but naturally we must adapt to situations as they develop. Tarhan has set us on a great path, time will tell where it takes us and who you wish to lead you all upon it”.

>How to deal with Reptia
We will continue to trade with them as we do now but we shall begin to send preaches of Rok to their outlaying settlements, in time we will turn them into us
>Opinion on future direction of development
More Forges, more mines and the unraveling of the greater mysteries! Slave Gladiator Pit! Border defenses!
>Opinion on sustaining the Golden Age
Lar took land for us, Tarhan defended it, now it is the time to internally develop it and become the beacon of Civilization we know we can be

Reptia is utterly irrelevant as a threat to us. They got neutered from the last war which we won soundly and as such, do not pose a threat. The real target at this point is Isarn.
>Opinion on future direction of development
We need to start propagating beyond just the river while keeping Ierok central.
>Opinion on sustaining the Golden Age
Keep doing what we’re doing and change as the situation requires.
>>
>How to deal with Reptia
We must build up a deterrent, create a stronger army, and create defenses on our border. Ensure that if Reptia ever tries to fight us again, they will get defeated. If the population wishes to do so, or the time is right, we will go to war with reptia.
>Opinion on future direction of development
We must focus on expanding outwards. Discover new lands, new civilizations, and new cultures. There is much to gain from these endeavors. We cannot neglect inward development, however true potential lies what is beyond.
>Opinion on sustaining the Golden Age
We will sustain the Golden Age via trade and discovery of new civilizations. Cultural, Technological, and Diplomatic Exchange will pave the way for us to become the rising power in our known world. We will find new allies, who will help us crush our enemies. New Technologies, to help us develop from within. New cultures, to broaden our view points, and improve on our own culture.

Though the majority of the public disagrees with Baer Enkirsson, as the founding families slowly move to support him, so too do they. Many forgo the vote altogether, although it's not entirely clear the legality of this. The government in this case chose not to force the issue, but the statement of 'all fighting age males' seems to make voting implicitly mandatory. In the end the vote ended up with many taking the pragmatist or protest route, and little else in between; though the second closest vote was for Jebenar, despite him standing down. This may be a serious sign of the first true dissatisfaction with the government since before the Golden Age; and many dissenters are calling it a sign of things to come. As for astronomy, very little was discovered other than that the stars are fluctuating in light as well as at times, color. Furthermore, some are popping in and out of existence altogether.

The last move by the Tyrant Tarhan Tor was a very interesting one; for expansion to the south was something none had thought of in a long time. While an expedition had been launched to kill the lake monster in Lake Larope met with failure, nothing else had occurred... until now. With resources allotted, the building goes on successfully, and an expedition post for further moves there is ensured. The first ships will launch next year.

While trading is still stalled with the Reptians, that comes more as a detriment to them in the matter of boatbuilding, for while their jungle resources are limited, the trees provided by the land around you to the south and the west are more than enough to provide for further exercises in development. However, there aren't any real significant advancements that seem to have come up. As stupid as it may sound, in this case, it really does come down to just improving on quality of design and building bigger things to supply more resources. This does allow a bit more of potential for trade of course, as more routes are accessible as the boats grow more seaworthy, but more importantly than that, the transfer of goods and people is much easier than before.

Falka the Painted best magic user has been working to understand the runes and patterns the painted have long watched. Specifically the teleporting runes they have seen...she would harness this gift left by an enemy.

FP: Clan Riverisa shall send escorts with ships heading to the Nakh, aiming to protect the trade ships from being attacked by Reptians. Should the reptians attack, the escorts will hopefully fight and destroy the Reptian fleets. This is for "security" as we call it. Initially the amount of escorts and trade ships sent out will be low, to avoid losses, and if success is seen then we will send more and more.

Personal Project: Jebenar will go with these escort fleets, hoping to gain valuable experience in leading these ships.

Faction project: Efforts shall be made to develop the small settlement of Kronava. As the south is being more developed, such as late Tarhan claiming ruined Chapkway among other projects, this settlmemt shall follow with more structures being made for living, the old wall being refurbished and docks being made for ships to stay. (auto 50)

Personal project: Older Kato, with more free time on his hands, seeks out to tame one of the eagle in the wild similar to how some ghouls have taken to gaming dingos. With him he brings a piece of leather tied on his arm for the bird to poach on and some rotten meat. (Roll)

While the hospital does well in attending to patients of even the arachnids, their reports are what really happened to help establish the hospital as something reputable. Using previous medical cases, you are able to replicate their results with a decent amount of frequency.

Though the Ash Walkers were a witness to an attack of pterodactyls some years ago, it seems that they had not learnt their lesson. For, pray tell, what sane individual pursues that which could slaughter a giant? Those who followed through in this case met with the same fate as that ill fated expedition; for of those who went, only a handful returned, Los among them, but with a leg missing and a wound quickly turning septic on the other.

It just so happened, that after the fort was made, it was discovered to be erected on an Isan burial ground. On top of an Old Isan burial ground. And when it comes time to move the fort (because it obviously can't be placed there), you only have enough resources left to rebuild half of it, despite just reusing materials.

As for San-Gou's successor, the one chosen is called Fah'layn, a male some 30 years of age. While an accomplished warrior in his own right, his presence during the defense of the village was one that has made him higher in the minds of many than most, furthered by the fact that it is he who is the High Priest of Ierok. Perhaps most distinctive about him is his lack of taste in clothing, and a companion of his, an alpaca he has kept for an unknown amount of time. Gharth (the alpaca) likes to chew leather belts.

High Brother Fah'layn, not willing to accept a half-finished ruin, commands that more resources shall be acquired and thrown at the problem. The Brotherhood (and their lsan friends) shall have their fortress.

While in theory this should bring more profits, customers complaining that this is a net negative for traditional crafts mean that the extra money is not shown at the end of the day.

For Lorhan, Thera's presence, and even Perun's, seem completely neglible. It's like they're not there at all.

While earth magic is usable for stabilizing wounds as to prevent further injury, the actual healing of wounds eludes you. Though, this may just be because you have only one earth mage.

Becoming accomplished hunters of animals is what most of the House spends their time on during this period, but the highest mage of the House works on his own craft, and believes he can at least transport a pebble using a rune left by Gwanraw within the cave system he used to dwell in.

Level wise, he would be on the upper areas of 3, or somewhere thereabouts.

Your clan is indeed able to protect your ships to some extent, and Jebenar does gain valuable experience. Yet, you feel you are losing more ships than you destroy as time goes on, and that is certainly demoralizing for the crews that remain. While the tyrant's help does greatly boost your endeavors, it does not seem to have helped diplomatic tensions with the Reptians, who respond with more boats as well.

Kronava is doing well, with not much to be said other than that due to the small population, the ships and docks remain quite limited for now. As for Older Kato, he is easily able to claim one of the birds of prey as a pet.

Sholzgaetor works as well as it can, but the further south you travel the more difficulties there are in all sorts of things; not knowing terrain, or what can kill you, or even just trying to avoid any rogue gnolls is providing a challenge. However, you are able to document some things, such as the presence of jade on gnoll skeletons you come across, and the fact that there are some herds of alpacas and llamas roaming here you could domesticate/retrieve.

More resources, more problems; though those aren't neccessarily connected. Many of those working on the project, especially the very bound to tradition Isans, leave as sightings of spirits grow more frequent. Some they say, look just like you and me, but others have unrecognizable and warped frames, as if someone had driven a stick into one and twisted their body like a rag doll around it til' their flesh sagged like that of old men and blood poured out. On top of the spooked workers, disaster strikes as the hut collapses in on itself. Many abandon the following day, with guards reporting a giant figure of stone and shadow giving the fort a shove before disappearing like he was never there. Ultimately, the project is done, but extremely late and much smaller than hoped for. While the Isans aren't upset, they do ponder why the spirits interfered even after the building was move. Zereb is able to use this time to reflect on his growth into maturity though, and thus assumes the mantle of leader of the Brotherhood over the High Priest.

As summer begins, the united Lopenei agree to a mutual defense pact, though not to a free trade agreement, citing concerns for both their craftsmen as well as the implication that could have on further agreements in the future (though it goes unspoken, fears of attempts at unification).
