"Oh she's just asking about my sister" I say with a shrug, scooting and dragging my chair around so I can see the tv without having to crane my head and twist my neck around just to see half of the screen.

"And you keep avoiding the question" Lyra huffs, pouting as she crosses her arms and glances towards the tv herself "I'd just like an answer, know if it went well or"

"And I'm going to answer you I just need to....figure out how" I say, nearly under my breath as I lean back in my chair and close the blinds on the window next to me "its complicated, lots of"

"Really?" Lyra asks, sounding genuinely curious

"I was there, it is pretty confusing and....well just unnerving in my eyes" Holi says grimly, peeking her pink, round cheeked face out of her cloak and hat's shadows

"What?" Lyra asks sounding a little upset now, not quite angry "What exactly made you feel that?"

"Its difficult to explain" the fairy says as I roll and shrug my shoulders again "And its just me, no reason to get mad at me for"

"Look just, give me...us sometime to think and relaaax" I say dully as holi giggles and lyra groans and rests her head on its side atop the table "And watch a little tv for awhile"

I frown as the bright lights begin to flash on the tv sitting across the room from us.

"I'm sorry if I dredged up some sadness for you holi" I sigh, as I wait for the strange sights on the tv to pass to something that makes a little more sense....don't think this is part of the show, since its showing one of those burgers Juniper likes so much and no....well magic or anything right now "I swear I'll bring them back with a wish as soon as I'm able"

"Thank you" She says meekly as the tv goes quite and I look back to it, away from the coat and hat covering up my friend and contractor's sad face as she just lays there

"Oh do any of you want snacks?" I ask the screen lights up brightly again and grabs my attention again.

"I'm fine" Lyra says sweetly "but thanks anyways, maybe later if the offer still stands"

"No" Holi says as I glance back to the screen, and see more bright colors....Oh is that supposed to me?

I frown as I see what looks like the me in my locket stepping from a bright green light as steam wraps around my usual clothes, the same I used to wear at the farm. Except brighter. the me on the screen stops and grabs her burning locket as my eyes turn green and those radiation symbols that become their centers flash gold and red as I get a determined look on my face staring towards a grim and foreboding looking Miller manner.

A villanous looking Alex flashes across the screen, followed by a few familiar monsters I've fought, before they appear...as silly and odd looking as the me on the screen and in my locket, with big eyes and brighter colors than....well not actually now that I think about it. they were all pretty garish.

Then there's a loud bang as the scene turns to one of well....ruin and devastation and I'm rushing forward in my magical girl armor, with holi fluttering by my shoulders as I run to meet some....black blobs? OH those are supposed to be chaos monsters, alright, that makes sense.

Then it cuts to Juniper running on all fours, flashing from a wolf like beast to her usual self. She stands, with a grin on her face as wolves of stone and mud join her side and she runs down a rolling wave of a hill as it crests, leaping into the air and kicking around in a twirl before pouncing towards a giant snake of a monster. it flashes back to me, standing around a horde of monsters I've never seen before, most of them beaten, burning or fused together.

I spin my sword around as a fat bellied eyeless ogreish thing tries to sneak up behind the tv me. And for some reason, that makes me feel a little....nervous? in the back of the scene I can see Juniper "riding" the giant worm monster as her "Pack" swarms it, Yeah seems like something she'd do for fun more than anything else but I could easily see her do it.

Frowning I scoot my chair closer to the screen and get pulled back by Lyra and holi

"Bad for your eyes" Lyra says softly as I huff and scoot my chair a bit more "...just don't get any closer alright?

"HEY HEY ITS YOU!" I shout happily as Lyra's strings wrap around the ogre monsters limbs as she sighs and tries to gently push my hand off her shoulder

"Yes....yes it is, no reason to get so excited you know" She laughs, her eyes glittering with cheer as I look back to the screen and frown

the music has stopped and now there's a view of the seaside, painted like the versions of us on the screen. the little me comes falling from the top of the screen with a mushroom cloud following her as she speaks in my voice? well a cuter version of it that doesn't sound as....well bored as I tend to sound.

"At least watch it in japanese" Holi huffs as she tries to pull the remote from my hand

"Does that language still even" lyra asks before I drag holi in the air as I hold my arm up and sush both of them loudly

"Not so loud, I'm trying to watch this" I say angrily as lyra looks away and holi keeps struggling to pry my fingers open

"Episode 14! Sister Sister!" the me on the screen laughs as a new song starts as a sylized and grim looking Alex fades onto the screen, as the seaside view wipes away like dust blowing over a dry wasteland.

I don't like thinking about it like that, but that doesn't change the fact its true. if I see something more than once, or hear about it, I just tend to see it as mundane and like the rest of the world somewhat grey more often than not. they just can't see the anger I'm still nuturing over hearing it from her in person, and not just hearing her honey sweet words turn poisonous on screen

"Besides, it won't happen to you" I say, staring at the table feeling my eyes fill with warm tears again, as I hear how angry Alice was then "so why be scared? trust me I'll make sure it won't happen again"

"I...thank you but, why aren't you angrier about this, why aren't....oh" Lyra says seeing my tears now right before I wipe them away "I'm sorry if I....look its just that, how to word this....well that was like something from a horror movie! and you didn't seem to have a reaction so I.....sorry"

"its fine" I say happily, gripping her now stark white hand to reassure her its alright, feeling it shake in my hand as I see her eyes fill with fear trying to imagine what Alice described just now

'"To be fair, most of the world seems to be a horror movie now" Holi says, peeking out as living shadow again, smirking, frowning then smirking again


"I wouldn't know" I say, a cold chill in my stomach reminding me I'm the only one in the room who hasn't know a world besides this one "But hey, its in the the past. She's a alright now and happy"

Lyra grips my hand, still not speaking as my sister slowly accepted me again

And then my head clouds as we stop in the sand smoothed and sun bleached hallway with bright blue paint and pink flowers on the wall. See, what Alice is, I don't have a description for. She told me what she was but truth be told I still don't entirely get it myself. Which is more than a little annoying and upsetting for a big sister. Sure it was explained to me in detail, or as much as she could think I could stomach judging from the looks her eyes took. But I have a feeling she wasn't telling me everything. Haven't heard the word demon before she told me, besides one of that drunk bastard's favorite drinks and she is much too sweet to be whiskey. Then there's what little she did explain to me about what a demon was. And while it sounded like chaos monsters, the wordings she used seemed to me that...well they're worse. But in our little lunch a day or so ago, she was more focused on....other things.

Worried her head is a mess, and her brains are well...scattered. Was she always this....airheaded? Not sure. But since Lyra is from the past, and that demon whiskey was old, there's a chance its something bad from her time.

"She was very emotional" I say dully as Alex tries not to laugh at my reaction while Juniper looks like a dog who knows she's in trouble for stealing its owner's breakfast
