You order the shuttle pilot to go, as your shuttle lifts off from the landing pad and heads back to your ship....

You order the navigator to prepare to warp to the Rifter settlement....

Within an hour the flotilla enters the warp and heads to the rifter settlement....

It takes a little over half a day to travel there, where you transition back to real space relatively uneventfully.....

You are almost immediately contacted over the Vox by the Lion of Serenica.... A heavily armed converted merchant ship, which announces itself as part of the Rift settlement defence fleet....

Your augur scans quickly detect several other ships in the system, powering weapons....

The space hulk has drifted slightly farther into realspace and the settlement has grown further, attracting more than fringers and refugees, and with a minor navigator house opening an office at the settlement. You are contacted over the vox by the lead rifter ship...

"Greetings Lord Governor, welcome to the Rift settlement!"

Docking bays 9 through 12 have been set aside for shuttles from your fleet"

You have the ship get close to the station before boarding your shuttle and docking at the rift settlement port...

You meet Commander Kran, who meets you at the docking bay....

You notice he has adopted a much more luxurious and fancy uniform since you last met him....

From speaking to him you gather that the settlement has accumulated great wealth selling salvage to passing merchants and others, they are also unknown to many people, except for a handful of merchants and Rogue Traders

They have apparently developed an interesting bazaar, and openly sell trinkets and items of greater value and utility of xeno origins...

You pass a man selling exotic animals as pets, including a large flying lizard, Tovarian Woodhogs, 400-500 pound large tusked warthogs and several small cute and cuddly creatures, a fine gift to our fiance perhaps....

Theres another stall with a man selling weapons, with several familiar looking weapons on the racks,including lasguns, flamers, shotguns and chainweapons....

There is also an ape-like creature being kept in a cage behind the weapons dealer

Finally you see a stall with a man selling what he claims are xenos goods....

They seem to be of strange make when you see them,but youre no expert on xenos or rare artifacts...

You visit the xenos stall and see several items of interest, although they are all fairly expensive....

You see three items that stand out to you in particular, and strange arc shaped piece of bone-like material, which the merchant assures you is a piece of Eldar wraithbone....

You also are drawn to a small blackstone, you briefly touch it and are filled with a sense of calm and serenity...

The merchant claims its an artifact of a dead xenos race, exterminated in the Macharius crusade a millenia ago, called an ethos stone...

It radiates a sense of calm and serenity, and are popular with merchants and politicians for the effects they have on themselves and others around them.....

Finally you are drawn to a xenos pistol, the merchant claims its of eldar origins, although he doesnt carry any of the ammunition for the xenos weapon

You visit the weapons stall where the merchant is hawking all variety of weapons used in the imperium, from a combat knifes, to over a dozen autogun and lasguns as well as some heavy weapons like lascannons and autocannons he also sells rare items, a few of which catch your eye.....

A very ornately crafted power sword, he alleges it once belonged to a great space marine champion.... (Although he could have just dressed up a standard issue powersword and made up a story)

You also see a rare arc pistol, an ancient type of adeptus mechanicus weapon, that literally shoots lightning, so far you have only seen a few Magos carrying such a weapon, and you only know of its power from Sergeant Zachias, who tells you about fighting along side the mechanicus during the Great Crusade,and their great and terrible weapons they can bring to bear....

Finally you see the most interesting rare item is a small ring....

You ask about it....

"The ring, well let me fill you in on a little secret, for 100.000 thrones I will have my Jokaero slave craft you a digi-weapon ring of the finest make and power"

The merchant points at the dirty, underfed ape-like creature hanging in the cage in the back of his stall

As a scion to a wealthly noble line, you were aware of digi-weapons, as they are a popular means of defence for rich and powerful in the imperium, they are a pistol sized one shot weapon concealed inside a ring or necklace usually, allowing you to carry a last-ditch weapon around with ease, as well as providing a surprise weapon in fights....

The merchant tells you it can fire the following shots

Flame shot- equal to a hand flamer
Melta shot- equal to an inferno pistol
Las shot- equal to a laspistol
