In the split second it takes for a cyber brain conversation to take, the choice seems like it takes days to make.

Carrier prime then turns a full one eighty with maneuvering boosters before rocketing back at the snake.

Intersect, Marauder, and Nimbus enter the complex beneath the mountain. Ahead is another large sliding gate. As you approach, it starts opening. As it does, the static from before starts to enter the vision of Marauder and Nimbus.

As it finishes opening you can see a strange world inside. Small grey blocks are floating around, coalescing to form random buildings and monuments before falling apart. A voice comes on over the radio. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the coalition forces. I thought there would be more of you but whatever. Welcome, to the future of humanity."

Hawkeye decides it would rather look at a small bird sitting in the tunnel. Your scout drone however speeds ahead and shows you images of a scientist talking to Marauder, Intersect, and Nimbus. As you approach you start to see static in your vision.

From scanning the recovered data, you find that all AO-Base was housed inside the main facility. And that several Biological CPUs were brought in to be used as a research project. One biological CPU was shipped back out of the facility.

You fly away from the newly arrived scientist and take a look around. You notice that the static gets stronger and weaker, pulsing in sync with the blocks forming and falling apart around you. In the distance you can see a lift descend out of sight. The scientist follows you all along, blabbing on about how humanity was great, destiny to rule the universe, certain sacrifices needed to be made, blah blah blah.

Marauder glares down at his repeat offender malfunctioning weapon.

With the well practised ease of a man who has been through this procedure entirely too many times, he slams a hand across the ejection port of the metalstorm with calculated precision, unjamming the chamber and locking the firing mechanism back into place. The whole exercise occurs in a matter of moments before he kicks into motion, his shields automatically swivelling towards the threat and a layer of nanite skin armour spreading across his form.

When you and Intersect reach the end you find another large sliding door with an access panel to the side. Opening said door brings you into a large room. Sets of tanks and pipes line the wall to the left. To the right is a set of freezers and door labelled "Incinerator".

In the center of the room is a set of beds, only one has anyone or thing on it. Its surrounded by several people wearing full hazmat gear and carrying sets of bloody tools.

Marauder stares and takes a deep breath, taken quite aback by the pointless, easily avoidable (yet so absurd as to be darkly comical) demise he'd just witnessed. He was no stranger to death, but what he had just seen was so *stupid* as to even give him pause.

He shook his head and opened coms to report.

"Well... we got the facility all secured. Then a containment breach was set off. We all made it out with no problem, but apparently someone told Turtle they wanted him to collect a sample real bad, because he stayed behind to scoop up AO-Base with his friggen *helmet* and got caught behind the blast doors when the sterilisation went off. I think he's KIA."
