The Raiders – Part 50

There is a distinct and unnerving difference between the lack of vital forces that you experience in the Astral Plane, and those you are experiencing while you are dead.

That is assuming that you are dead, of course. You only have Siobhan's word for that, but then again, you've never had cause to doubt her. Your presence in this strange place that resembles the interior of a black opal, a rich velvet darkness strewn with rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Nude and lacking any jewels or trinkets, your hair loose and unadorned, not even the mark left by the power of the Elder One who claimed to be the maker of the first Silver Sword upon your cheek, you stand or float before Siobhan, the image of her a beautiful githyanki female, adorned in rich, shimmering silks and smiling beatifically at you.

She claims you have disappointed her in the manner of your death, but it doesn't seem so to you. If anything, Siobhan seems pleased to have you where you are, trapped within herself, her mind or perhaps even her physical form. It is entirely possible you're suffering from some form of solipsism similar to that the strange elan inflicted upon you, or that you've merely been paralyzed by the power of the githzerai monk-adept. But the stilling of your hearts and the distinctly weird sensation of being disembodied, of being discorporate is strong. It really doesn't feel anything like the lack of vital function the Astral Plane inflicts upon you.

You are dead my love. Not dying, not entrapped in some mental or even physical force, but dead. I have caught your soul as it fled your dead body, called you to me for safekeeping and protection. You look at the creature that feels a terrible, overwhelming love and desire to be with you, to be your lover, to posses and hold you even as she empowers and is kept by you. Should you so will it, I can restore you to life, your power and prowess intact and fully restored. Or....you may remain here, with me, your soul with mine, until you wish to leave and go on to the reward which is ordained to you upon your death.

What would that be? I have never been the most devout of souls, to say the least. I put more faith in the Dead Gods than any other force of spiritual power. Even Vlaakith only received a token of my faith in her. Siobhan laughs softly, tickled by your ready admission of faithlessness on the Supreme Leader of your entire species.

I am sure I do not know; I am not a living thing, and I have less experience in dealing with the flow of souls than you yourself have. She moves close, an act of will, and lightly caresses your cheeks. Her hands are cool, and you feel faint pleasure from the touch. You could stay with me a while, until some Master Smith forges a True Silver Sword, and you could become the living blade, become on of us, one of those who serve your people and continue the battle you fought so valiantly in as direct and powerful a manner as possible. The smile becomes more broad, more pleased. I can just imagine what sort of blade you would be to your wielder, having been your own for so long.

The idea of becoming part of the network of power that supports your people, to be a living weapon bound to a powerful young githyanki warrior, a supreme leader at the very least....is not unappealing. You would be as much guide as tool, and undoubtedly would grant your wielder much wisdom, knowledge, and perhaps even power. Without a doubt the Elder Power is not so easily lost or given up.

I am certain there are other options available to you. You are a creature of strange power and indescribably powerful will, even dead as you may be, my beloved. Siobhan laces her fingers with yours, presses close, kisses you, enfolds you in her mind and self, sharing her cool, wondrous intellect and power with you, sharing in your warmth and vitality, your power. Even the deities would rightly fear your power....it is not as though you have no time to ponder, here and now. Time passes as I will it, and for the nonce, is passing so quickly here that your dead body has not even struck the floor.

[] Ask Siobhan if she will let you perceive what occurs in the physical world at the moment.
[] Request that she grant you True Resurrection; you will not die so ignominiously as all that.
[] Stay with her, for the time being; you are curious what her world, her existence is like.
[] Accept her offer to become a True Silver Sword; you have much to give to your people still.
[] Ask that she allow you to move on to your just reward. Chose one of the following characters: Tzanzi, Yashi, Lywedra, Auena, Schechei and [geen]Kteine, or Vesettra

Akko, Akatmosoko, like all her kind, has a measure of psychic ability. She will simply use most of these powers without prompting, instinctively, when appropriate. Her spells are another matter.
>She is a high ranking Gish, and may give orders to low ranking Knights; mid-ranked Warriors; high ranking Spellcasters, Skulkers, and Murderers; and any Gish lower ranked than herself.
>True Silver Sword: Siobhan
Siobhan offers her opinions and advice on matters when a vote is called for, drawing on Akko's potent intellect and voicing subconscious thoughts for her to consider.

Generally speaking spend a little time here hanging out, though not -too- long since time is something we have right now, but yeah I'm not against coming back in general especially since...
>Ask her if there are any windows she knows about that will close whether or not we die two or two hundred years from now?
I'm not really sure what powers that Akko has won favor with would be opposed to her sticking around the material plane a bit longer, or if she'd become in any way less worthy in that time. Also I'm not sure whether or not Siobhan can only grip our soul right now, or if it's hers as long as we die wielding her, which... how else would we ever die?

...I will admit though, switching perspective to the Githzerai who killed us is an interesting premise, but I'm sentimental.

As much as it's tempting to stay, I'd rather continue the fight ASAP.

We could try to develop a spell based on Astral Projection that let us be drawn in the sword harmlessly, later.

I mean
>it is not as though you have no time to ponder, here and now. Time passes as I will it, and for the nonce, is passing so quickly here that your dead body has not even struck the floor.
It sounds like we aren't exactly at a loss for time and I feel like if we do wait a little bit it might be possible to catch Vessetra off balance.
>>
Asking her what's going outside right now is a bad option overall, because if we observe the events as they go she can't bring us back immediatly after our death.
>>
>>2520623

Well I think it'd throw her off balance more if she feels she killed us, then we immediatly prove her wrong.

Would definitively attract enough attention to allow our dragon and our skulker to do their job
>>
In the end, it's a question of tastes, though.

Showing our affection for Sword is nice too.

Interesting to note: our soul has no trace of Elder Power. So our nature was not affected by it.

It's not marked by the rune. That doens't mean it's nonexistent.

Running right back to the living would probably hurt her feelings if it isn't immediately necessary. I mean, we should at least make out or something.

[XXX] Request that she grant you True Resurrection; you will not die so ignominiously as all that.
[XX] Stay with her, for the time being; you are curious what her world, her existence is like.
[X] Ask Siobhan if she will let you perceive what occurs in the physical world at the moment.
[X] Write in? What side effects would the True Resurrection bring? What doors that were open would close, and what might the choice change in the long run?

Given the choice, Siobhan, I would choose life. Why would I not choose life? As intriguing and curious as those offered things may be, I am a being made to survive. My death was a sliver of chance, and I refuse to let such a thing dictate my ending if I have the opportunity not to. You smile and kiss her hands, the sensation of it somehow faint, and difficult to hold on to. But if I have the time to spend, then I would spend some with you. It is the very least I may do for a dear and bosom companion as you have been. You and Yzia have been at my side together through all of my leadership an far beyond.

Siobhan is embarrassed by your affection, though she does not blush. Your words would make my heart beat quickly, if I did but have one.

If I may, if it is possible, I would see what happens this moment in the physical world, Siobhan. Siobhan grins, and gestures. The velvet curtain becomes a shimmering world of ghostly silver with bright sparks of color illuminating everything; gigantic figures moving about, vast figures poised in absolute stillness. The cloaked shape of the githzerai Vesettra, “Hunter”, who even now rounds on Tzanzi with fists burning in white flames drawn from the elemental Fire itself, she is speaking and one of the rings she wears is sparking, her flame wreathed hand gesturing. A spell. Not arcane magic, though – you recognize the gesture as being that used by those who perform the services of the gods, a spell of healing. A Spell Storing ring? It would make sense.

Tzanzi is moving in, hands claw-like and her terrible nails extended, ready to tear flesh and rend armor. Her spurs are bared as well, and it is clear that she is going to savage the githzerai ascetic. Yzia's shocked, terrified expression is caught in perfect clarity, her pupils spreading wide and her rage not yet in evidence. Though you suspect it will be a towering inferno of absolute destruction when it happens, unless you manage to forestall it somehow. She might not even care if Tzanzi gets caught in her wrath this time.

This is how you perceive the world? you ask softly, wonder and awe coloring your thoughts.
>>
Just so. Yzia is going to be very incensed; I fear your killer is not long for this world, or the next. You smile wryly, already having come to that conclusion yourself. You turn and kiss Yzia deeply, shivering, and she reciprocates eagerly, her hands stroking your smooth back slowly, tracing obscure, perhaps meaningless script along your back as she sighs into the soul kiss.

Despite your desire to return to the physical world, you can't help but ask, What opportunities will I be giving up by living on for as many more years or centuries as I will, Siobhan? I also doubt that this gift comes without a cost.

She smiles faintly and traces your spurs beneath the softness of your cheeks. This can happen but once in a sidereal month, Akko. Twenty and half again days, I will be unable to rescue you from the clutches of death. So it would behoove you not to allow yourself to be caught unawares by it again, if you would be so kind. You smile and shake your head, as the world becomes velvet darkness and gem-toned starlight once more. As for the other, how is one to know? Things may change in a century – but not, I think, much where Those Who Serve, such as myself or the other Silver Swords, are concerned. All else? I cannot know. I am but a weapon, and you are my world, Akatmosoko.

[] Remain her and show her your appreciation, since you have the opportunity.
[] Time may not be passing outside, but you are certain that may not hold true for long; the ascetic is a Zerth Cenobite, and a manipulator of time.
[] Ask her if she would wish to take on a human form, a true human form, if she had the opportunity to live as a githyanki.
[] Promise that you will reward her for her generosity and the gift of your life when you return to the Lair.
[] See if you can cast a spell – if you have any magic at all available to you – while in this strange realm.
[] Write in?

This isn't a vote, more asking for clarification. Is this saying that just as Siobhan could turn Akko into the core of a True Silver Sword, Akko can turn Siobhan from a True Silver Sword to a person?
>>
>>2520668
>[] Remain her and show her your appreciation, since you have the opportunity.

Would human among Githyanki really be so great, even with Akko's favor and protection?
>>
>>2520668
Also hm, while I really would like to spend some time with Siobhan, I'm kind of worried about Yzia managing to accidentally really fuck up Tzanzi if we dally for too long.
>Ask Siobhan if there's a way for us to come back here short of dying again?

I guess my general inclination is caution to the tune of

I am a little bit glad I missed the first vote entirely, being torn between playing as Akko and seeing what would happen if we let Akko move on would have been a rough decision. I'd probably vote for resurrection but feel bad at giving up on the experience of playing a completely different kind of Raiders.

>>2520680
Yeah, time is my main worry too. I guess we could assume Yzia will handle it, but I'd rather make sure. Which is a pity, since I really do want to appreciate Siobhan properly!

Polymorph Any Object.
It's a possibility, yes.
>>
>>2520699
Well damn, that opens up a lot of possibilities. Although, I'm not sure if we should take Falna's hubris as a warning when it comes to changing someone's form so intrinsically, heh.

I dunno much about DnD spell mechanics though. Wondering the exact nature of such a change. Permanently changing her form and nature intrinsically? Permanent magical effect on her that could be dispelled?
>>
>>2520679
My mistake for using 'human' for 'our species'.
>>
>>2520702
It depends on the nature of the changes and the distance between first form and new form.

It seemed a bit strange to go for human in the first place so no worries just nice to get it clarified
>>
>>2520705
Seems like it'd be 2 days, at best. Assuming we couldn't alter the spell somehow.
>>
Yzia might want to pump us full of kids, after that stunt.

On other topics, once we come back, could we target the Monk's fingers so that she can't use her rings? Those things seem to give her a rather mighty boost.
>>
>>2520702

Akko truly loves her sword, no matter her shape.

Yes, sexually too.

I'm sure she has matured enough to appreciate it if Yzia re-used humanoid shapes, as well.
>>
>>2520714

I mean, she was certainly not opposed to the other dragon having a set, delightful shape
>>
>>2520710
Haha, it can be tough to predict how someone will react after something like this. Seeing Akko die and then return to life will definitely make her emotions into a whirlwind.

>>2520714
>>2520717
True enough, I don't really equate it to Falna's selfish work on the twins. Akko certainly doesn't need Siobhan to change forms, or at least not permanent forms. As you say, some temporary polymorph can be another spice of life!
>>
>>2520680
I'm really torn here, on the one hand I definitely would want to spend time with Siobhan now, but I feel like it's paid for at the expense of Tzanzi and Yzia, not just whatever damage they might take (I'm pretty sure nothing permanent) but every milisecond of them thinking that Akko is gone for good and they'll never see us again. Sure it won't really make them feel much worse than the initial blow, and it seems too sappy for Akko to really be concerned about, but I can't really help it.
>>
>>2520721

We can come back here, you know.

Maybe not right now, but eh.
>>
Turns out Siobahn is easily flustered by all our displays of affection
>>
[XXX] Promise that you will reward her for her generosity and the gift of your life when you return to the Lair.
[XX] Time may not be passing outside, but you are certain that may not hold true for long; the ascetic is a Zerth Cenobite, and a manipulator of time.
[X] Remain here and show her your appreciation, since you have the opportunity.
[X] Write in? Love and affection, of course – this is Siobhan, who truly loves you. Of course, there is also the matter of foolishly getting yourself killed....

There is nothing to press Siobhan up against, so you settle to wrapping your arms about her neck and lacing your fingers together behind her as you gaze into her soft, dark eyes. I promise to you that I will find a suitable reward for my beloved blade, for more than her service and her affection, but because she is truly beloved of me. You smile slowly, and press into her, pulling her close, your breasts squeezed against hers and your thigh interposing itself between her legs in a very intimate manner. Of course, I have been foolish, and my death deserves some measure of punishment for my foolhardy and appalling manner of dying. Perhaps you might have some sort of....suggestion as to what might be done to redress this....issue?

You emphasize your playful request with firm, slow movements of your thigh, and she shudders, apparently ale to feel pleasure just as acutely here as when possessing a body. You do not feel nearly as much, but this is not really about your pleasure, is it? When her eyes close you slip your hands from her neck, down her body, sliding them along the soft sides of her throat, her breasts, squeezing firmly as you continue the intimate movements. Her hands slide from your back to your hips, and she grips firmly, keeping you close.

I cannot even begin to imagine a proper punishment for your temerity at dying on me, Akko, she murmurs in your mind, but you can feel her desires at the edges of her thoughts. The possibility of possessing you, rather than Tzanzi or the elfin princess, or perhaps even the human princess and trapping you between herself and an irate Yzia. The impossible wonder of you being spanked...or even caned or belted by Tzanzi or herself as Yzia holds you fast....

Your kiss is far deeper, far bolder than the last, and our nails dig into the softness of her breast, her flesh cool and supple in your grasp. As you break the kiss, you slide down, considering – and letting her be aware of that consideration – how the cenobite's uncanny skills over time may make her manipulation of it here a moot point. But you can take a moment, maybe a few moments.... You nuzzle at the place between her legs, moving the silk aside before placing slow, deep kisses there, making Siobhan gasp and give you greater access to that sacred place.
>>
>>2520749
Poor murdersword isn't used to being appreciated in this way
>>
By the time you are done, Siobhan is thoroughly ravished and you are rather pleased with yourself. Even in this place without true bodies, the mind and the idea of pleasure is still potent enough to reduce a female to a quivering wreck, githyanki or blade. Would that I could stay and enjoy the pleasure of tormenting you further, my beloved, my sword-wife. There will be time, however....and other pleasures to be taken. She shivers delicately and you kiss her, which she reciprocates eagerly, tasting herself upon your soft, faintly numb lips.

Go with the blessing that is mine....you are too precious, your skills to valuable to be lost to death, my beloved Akko. You feel a deep, steady pull, a draw deep within you, and then you take a sudden, shocked breath, your heart hammering and power flooding your mind and body alike.

A great deal of power; your arcane force and all your magics restored to mind, as well as the Elder Power. Even the spells you had cast restored to your mind, while they remain in effect upon your body. You are fully healed as well, the ruin of your hearts completely vanished by the power of your lover-blade.

The grievous injuries you inflicted upon the githzerai warrior are only mostly healed; it was indeed a healing spell you saw her casting, but no minor one – a true Heal spell. Tzanzi is hard pressed, but none the worse for wear yet, as the cenobite blocks and parries even as she lashes out in return, their battle close and deadly. Yzia's eyes are burning stars and her throat is filled with the white hot stuff of stars and suns, her rage eclipsing all sense. You reach and Siobhan is in your hand, still a thing of energy and vicious power, rather than a solid blade.

First, because we shouldn't waste the opportunity by not going all out again. We especially don't want her getting through Tzanzi's guard or Yzia doing something foolhardy before we down her.

[] Rise up and dump as much power as you can possibly muster into Siobhan, then shove Siobhan through that terror's back. Roll 1d20+36, costs one sixth level spell slot and one use of mythic power.
[] Take the Augmented Mythic Form of the Alien Dragon and tear her apart. Choose one: Solar or Astral. Then roll 5d20 (each will be +38). This uses one Quickened Spell, and two uses of mythic power, rather than one. Because you will change size, this will put her in range of all your attacks.
[] A Quickened Mythic Greater Dispel Magic combined with Telekinetic Maneuver with have a very good chance of allowing you to lower her defenses and hold her very still so Tzanzi can outright kill her rather than simply hurting and injuring her. Roll 5d20 – 4 dispels, and 1 attack roll. Obvious costs of 1 quicken, and 1 mythic power.
[] A Spell-strike using the Mythically Maximized Ray of Enfeeblement you now have available again will make her a much less deadly enemy....especially if you drop an Quickened Acidic Spray on her as well. Roll 1d20+36

I stand corrected and am writing now.
>>
>>2520797
Would you like to Spend a Hero point to reroll?

Akko only has 3, and you only regain them when you gain a character level.
>>
>>2520802
Oh dear.
>>
>>2520804
This seems smart I'm all for taking some failures on the chin but maybe not when we're fighting a master and just died already
>>
>>2520804
Yeah, I feel like this is a good use of a Hero point.
>>
>>2520804

Otherwise it's a full on fail?

I vote for it, but the others players have to agree
>>
>>2520814
No, but since I average the rolls it is a significant lowering of the attack roll, surprised or not.
>>
>>2520804
Might as well, we've basically been hoarding them so far this quest and inevitably level up without using much if any.

Rolled 11 + 36 (1d20 + 36)

>>2520816
>>
Rolled 18 + 3 (1d20 + 3)

Rollign a saving throw for your enemy.
>>
>>2520822
Damn high-roller! At least we ditched the 1-roll.
>>
Rolled 2 + 36 (1d20 + 36)

And confirming the potential crit (which I keep despite averaging out the attack roll - if it hits, the crit is still threatened - the dice roller hate you people enough).
>>
>>2520826

Crit not confirmed.

That Monk is too lucky.
>>
>>2520826
Fuck bye bye crit
>>
Rolled 5, 2, 4, 3, 6, 6, 4, 6, 3, 1, 5, 5, 3, 4, 6, 6, 1, 5, 3, 1, 2 + 42 = 123 (21d6 + 42)

>>2520826
No crit, sorry.

Just damage.
>>
Meh

Seeing that display, I really should have went for the Enfeeblement.

123 is barely what her Heal gave her back.

[X] Rise up and dump as much power as you can possibly muster into Siobhan, then shove Siobhan through that terror's back. Roll 1d20+36, costs one sixth level spell slot and one use of mythic power.

You can only imagine what it would look like to the others – even the ordinarily fearless Tzanzi, someone who has slaughter and enclave of illithids by herself after suffering severe brain trauma, looks utterly chocked as you stand up, Siobhan shimmering malevolently. With the shifting aura of darkness from your Vampiric Shadow Shield, dismantling and wrapping the most powerful spell you can into Siobhan, and bolstering Siobhan with the arcane force you covet so much, you loom over the githzerai. Your hate manifests as a terrifying blow to her ego, but her mind resists the intrusive assault with ease, instinct driving both your assault and her defense. Her rational mind, however, is another matter entirely.

Turning, the githzerai cenobite's eyes widen under the soft material of her blindfold, which you suspect does not actually prevent her from seeing anything. Which makes the sight of you alive, whole, surrounded in shifting darkness and wielding a blade of black energy lit by sapphire and ruby lightning, a terrifying sort of vision to behold.

To her credit she manages to avoid a stab through the heart, and instead takes Siobhan through her guts – again. You smile wickedly as her retaliatory strike passes through your Displaced image, and she trembles, your assault leaving her gasping for breath and coughing up crystalline blue blood. “I would say that you were lucky to have survived my attack....” you murmur in a low, threatening tone, “but unfortunately that isn't true at all.”

She starts to step back away from you in order to launch a vicious assault, her burning hands stiffened and hard....when Yzia steps up behind her and grabs either side of her head. Tzanzi's claws have torn her up a bit, and despite the powerful healing spell, your assault has nearly reduced her to a quivering dead thing. But Yzia's anger and hate are another matter entirely; the githzerai's eyes widen and she whispers the start of the phrase that would have been 'mercy', 'surrender' or 'parley'. Yzia is very much uninterested, and tears the githzerai's head off.

Literally.
>>
The wet gush of clear sapphire blood washes over the creature's body, soaking most of the weapons and tools, as well as pooling around her corpse. She slides to the floor as you tilt Siobhan to allow her to fall. Yzia, smiles, as the head blinks and the mouth gapes. Turning the corpse's head, she whispers very softly, “I am going to raise you from the dead for the sole purpose of turning you into a toy for my mate.” You swear the eyes widen in terror before the life fades from them entirely.

I am now adding Yzia to the list of people I do not wish to be annoying towards, Tzanzi murmurs in your mind, in addition to yourself and Siobhan.

Yzia drops the head and looks at you, her eyes wide and her expression heartbroken or joyous. You really can't tell which.

[] Open your arm to her – the other is still holding Siobhan, of course.
[] Explain that you didn't want to let them have all the fun, no reason to inform them that Siobhan is far more than a mere True Silver Sword.
[] It was Siobhan's doing of course – she is apparently jealous even of death.
[] As fun as such a toy might be, it is an awfully dangerous one, even weakened as it might be by being raised from death.
[] A gift for you? How sweet; Yzia always gets you the best toys.
[] Write in?
Siobhan is laughing maniacally.
>>
>>2520848
Akko's first attack almost killed her outright. Only by fighting defensively agaisnt Tzanzi did she survive the blow Akko just struck....which wasn't enough to save her from Yzia's minimum damage.
>>
>>2520854
Fuck yeah, beheadings!
>[x] A gift for you? How sweet; Yzia always gets you the best toys.
>[x] Open your arm to her – the other is still holding Siobhan, of course.

I trust both of them enough to keep that fact under wraps. And if it gets to the point where someone gets it out of them against their will, I'm not sure their knowing that will matter much any longer.

>"Yzia, dear, as tempting as it is, it wouldn't be a safe toy to have around. Not to mention she does not deserve the reward of being mine, nor of you spending money on her." *smile smugly, before softening it* "beside, I'm not sure I deserve a reward myself, for being killed like that and worrying you."

>Kiss Yzia, Tzanzi and Siobahn intensely. They were so incredibly hot in battle.

Toy Githzerai sounds fun to me
>>
Rolled 10 + 1 (1d10 + 1)

>>2520598
>>
>>2520867
Yeah I don't know on the one hand it could be really fun and we could probably come up with all kinds of ways to restrict her powers. On the other beyond the risk that will never completely be abated, it's also just that it already feels like we're juggling a lot of stuff, and breaking the spirit of a Githzerai feels a tall order. On the third hand, it seems like it might be something a lot of people were looking forward to and it's almost certainly not a trap, or at least not an immediate one.
>>
>>2520884
It'd also be a great spoil of war or rather raid, all the other cadres would respect Akko more
>>
>>2520882
>>2520861
>>2520884

Toy Githzerai is just a bragging right. We won't be able to do anything fun with her, just keep her in a box.

Leave her dead, at worse someone will bring her back with a True Resurrection and we'll have a rematch.
>>
>>2520887

Not really, killing her is where most of the respect comes from.

Capturing her alive would have given us even more respect.

But killing and raising her, not forgetting that she can refuses coming back, would look tacky.
>>
I'd rather keep the money for when someone in our Cadre or an ally gets rekt and we need them back.
>>
>>2520890
I think it'd get us respect for daring to keep her around
>>
>>2520890
>But killing and raising her, not forgetting that she can refuses coming back, would look tacky.
...Maybe Yzia can somehow make Raise Dead ignore the need for consent? I have no idea how though.

[XXX] Open your arm to her – the other is still holding Siobhan, of course.
[XX] It was Siobhan's doing of course – she is apparently jealous even of death.
[X] As fun as such a toy might be, it is an awfully dangerous one, even weakened as it might be by being raised from death.
[X] Write in? Tzanzi too deserves rewards for her skill in battle – apparently better than you do, considering your earlier failure to survive.

You keep Siobhan lowered as you offer to embrace Yzia. She slips into your arm and you can feel your hearts starting to beat faster, the inevitable rush of battle-lust finally yours to experience once again now that you have found a foe worthy of your skills.

Perhaps a little too worthy, at that.

You kiss her deeply and thoroughly, reveling in the burning, spicy taste of her, acidic and mercurial; she kisses back as eagerly. Siobhan croons softly to you both and you break the kiss slowly. Returning Siobhan to solidity, you sheathe her and look down at the corpse. “As pleasant as it would be to have such a lovely toy, it is a little dangerous to be playing with – and costly to own.”

“Oh, I intend to raise her and kill her over and over again, until she's far to weak to be anything but a toy, Akko,” Yzia murmurs in a deadly, hate-filled hiss.

“Expensive,” murmurs Tzanzi. You offer her your other arm, and she smiles, her pupils dilated and dark, her scent bitter and hot as well, her own blood running hot from battle-lust. You kiss her deeply and slowly as well, Yzia nuzzling the both of you, her hand caressing, touching. You have to push them both away, your desire starting to become overwhelming between the two of them.

“Take the body, and the head. Dunzamn will want proof. Tzanzi, the princess.” Your voice is thick and your heart is pounding, your desires difficult to contain. Worse than last time, by far. Tzanzi starts walking towards the back of the hall, sniffing at the air, hunting. Yzia is gazing at you, her pupils burning; she can smell your need, and it is clear she is going to enjoy the experience. You are so not letting her near a male; you do not want her impregnating you; you'll suffer through being held down and punished for your sin of dying without permission.

Tzanzi's soft, liquid laughter makes your cheeks darken; you weren't aware you were broadcasting. Yzia is grinning like a fool, her eyes bright as she looks you up and down, considering exactly how best to tie you down and abuse you.

I want to kill that sword, Akko..
>>
Siobhan's demand – and it is a demand not a request, comes out of the grey. You draw her, and walk over to the corpse. Yzia opens the dead githzerai's cloak and exposes the Silver Sword there, a simple utilitarian looking short sword made of similar materials as Siobhan. Your True Sight shows you the glittering, vibrant silver-white fire of the Elder Power within the blade, shot through with streaks of emerald and violet. It's malice and hatred are nearly palpable.

Kicking the weapon out of it's sheath and onto the stone floor; you follow as it skitters a half dozen paces. Even that brief contact allows the weapon to try and grasp your mind. You arr the stronger and it fails to catch hold, Siobhan's laughter at the things pathetic attempt ringing in your minds. Lifting Siobhan, you bring her down upon the blade, and there is a flash of lightning and an explosion of sound that nearly deafens you. The stained glass of the cathedral-like building explores, Siobhan's ruby and sapphire lighting crashing down on the blade, which lets loose an unearthly shriek as it breaks in two.

Emerald and amethyst fire rips up Siobhan's blade, and she moans in nearly orgasmic ecstasy, and you feel the rush of power igniting your brains and rushing through your body, knowledge and secrets becoming more clear than ever before. Magical power, the use of spells as pure force to protect yourself augmented by the power of the Elders; Siobhan drinks some of the power as well, her intellect, her power growing as well.

A soft scream alerts you to an audience: a nubile human-child, female, and a slightly older cat-folk female who is looking rather dazed and has had her nose bloodied. She looks nearly human, her skin smooth along her face, though her ears and the dark tiger-stripe markings along her golden skinned face are distinctly catlike. The human – dressed in fine silks and brocades, wearing a great deal of jewelry, is staring at you, terrified. The cries of alarm are rising, and you bare your spurs at her viciously.

“There is a vishkanya as well – her I left unconscious. Another mercenary, like this one, pretending to be a handmaiden of some sort.” The girl and cat-folk look terrified, their lack of comprehension quite clear. “We can take her as well. A pet snake might be good for th twins to cut their teeth on.” The thoughts that dance through your mind, however, are far more....intense and Yzia shudders, wanting to indulge you, play along side you as well as with you. Tzanzi smiles, reading your thoughts without telepathy, as she has been able to do for a long while.

“Yzia, go collect her, if you would be so kind, as I leave something unpleasant for the would be rescuers of the princess....”

>To Be Continued....

Thank you for Reading and Playing.

I should be better next week. Thank you for your patience.

Akko has gone up one more mythic Tier, and has shared more of her power with Siobhan this time. The end results are listed on the character sheet, but they will be demonstrated in full next sessions.

Thanks for running! I was out on a walk so I'm glad I didn't miss a vote.

Some nice loot gained this thread.

Thanks for running!

So, we're getting a princess, a cat and a snake? As long with all the bling the monk had?

Thanks for running

Glad we grabbed the Githzerai

Thank you for running, I'm glad we settled things with the Githzerai and I really enjoyed spending quality time with best sword earlier.
I forgot to ask her earlier, but is that humanoid form how Siobhan perceives herself, or is it more just a convenient affectation?
>>
>>2521091
It seems to be how siobhan views herself as it is how she appears every time she dreams or communes with Akko.
>>
>>2520984
>>2521009
You are, and yes.
>>
>>2521514
are there any particular attitudes between the two giths beyond seething hatred?

there seemed to be a number of opportunities to talk to, ally with, or keep vessetra. Cant help but feel there was more to it. After all, we may not be subject to divination, but yzia is. Plus a zerth cenobite and a temporal dragon in the space of a day? time shenanigans are afoot.

XS, the mythweaver's stat block generator at the bottom still has Akko at Magus 17, Mythic 6. Just thought that you might want to know.

Yzia had non-detection up and can do the same for the Monk. I'm still curious if there are higher level scrying spells that avoid non-detection, though.

afaik hypercognition cuts through everything. other than that? no idea.

moat dnd based cosmologies only support extremely limited time travel on the order of rounds. If that werent the case however...

>>
hey qst just had a few thoughts and wanted to toss them at the wall and see what sticks.

I am starting to think the temporal dragon might have been correct in her assumptions. at the time we dismissed her logic because on the surface it is ludicrous to think Akko would want to destroy the universe.

however, Akko doesnt necessarily need to be willing to affect huge and potentially disasterous changes.

Consider for a second what might happen if Vlaakith rouses tomorrow and decides to eat Akko for her great work. SHE likely has epic levels combined with mythic tiers and a host if other advantages. Realistically at this point we have little hope of prevailing.

The thing is Akko isnt just some gish, she is Akko. her mythic power is afaik unique among githyanki. which might be enough to tip HER over into completing her goals. And while I am not sure what the birth of an undead god inside the astral would mean, I am fairly sure its bad for the cosmos.

following that line of thought it makes a lot more sense why such an insanely powerful monk was sent out for babysitting duty, why a random and powerful elan showed up, and why an insanely rare temporal dragon took the time to speak with us.

All of these are attempts to remove Akko from Vlaakith's purview either through transformation, persuasion, or death.

There is one creature with the ability to travel in time to the past (or future, though not as important currently) in an unlimited duration-type manner. Such a creature, being ageless, could in theory live all the way back to the time it previously left, thereby observing the potential timeline changes first-hand.

While only capable of doing so three times in it's life, such a creature could, theoretically, be on friendly terms with certain other time travel capable entites, ones which might have a particular interest inthe stability of certain timelines and possibilities. Such beings might be interested in maintaining contact with other unaging, hard to kill beings, particularly those whom might only live in a linear, three dimensional manner, in order to keep tabs on their own comings and goings throughout history. It would be entirely likely for the second set of time-traveling being to be able to teach certain humanoids the secrets of manipulating physical time, enabling them to achieve said immortality through that manipulation of physical time. Such a trade could easily have happened in the long distant past, leaving people with the idea that these immortal humanoids have always been present, and giving both the time traveling race of scientists who live in certain specific eras and the guardians of the timelines a group of secretly immortal, ageless agents who quietly recruit more of their own from like humanoid candidates.
