General Rules

10 min voting period after each main post. Write-ins votes are welcomed/encouraged. Votes that are non-contradictory and add to the narrative will be considered. Think 'Rule of Cool'

Combat/skill test will be best 3 out of 5 rolls of 1d100, unless otherwise specified. Modifiers may come into play depending on the MC's statistics which can improve odds and vice versa as the QM sees fit. The QM will inform players of when such modifiers will come up during votes. (Example: Aim at a target at long range with a scattershot weapon will require a higher roll to make a successful hit than a normal blaster weapon).

Training with other bots and successful missions can add to your overall abilities. Strong character relationships with your comrades can also benefit the MC as it will improve battle synergy and moral (less likely to want to fall back/retreat). Of course the vice versa can come into play as well. A failed mission may have consequences but result in unforeseen outcomes (In the show, Tarantulus, Blackarachnia, & Quickstrike were supposed to secure an energon post. The Maximals interfered, resulting in the loss of the post BUT Tarantulus gained a new lair.). A Predacon can always sabotage missions to make other bots look incompetent as well, just hope you’re persuasive enough to do so and watch out for those that might do the same to you.

Also keep an eye out at your energon build up levels; too much time in robot mode outside of a structure, such as a base can cause negative impacts on your combat maneuvers/skill test, including potential loss of spark. In the event of loss of spark, pending the results of a vote, a time lapse in the narrative will happen and a new stasis pod will fall. (Roll for new character or with a high relation level, a blank protoform will descend and your allies will reignite your spark)

Previously on Beast Wars....

You and Dinobot began a training exercise with Rattrap and Kickback.

While you had a bit of trouble tracking them down, you manage to find Kickback and began pursuing.

You carefully fly behind the rabbit, doing your best to maintain silence and distance from him. With your cloak on, he wont have an easy time of seeing you. But those ears of his are extremely perceptive. You're beast mode is adept at hunting prey like the vermin but this isn't just a normal wildlife situation of hunter prey.

If he catches you, he'll most likely lead you on a while goose chase through out the forest or worst into a trap of some sort.

Still you'll need to be on your guard. As you and Dinobot suspect, there's a good chance that there are traps in the area.

I'm gonna need some 1d100 rolls to determine if you can maintain keeping eyes on Kickback while you look for any possible traps.

You continue top navigate the woods, weaving through the tree line. Kickback keeps making erratic course changes, but you keep up with the evasive rabbit. You're so fixated on the rabbit that you forget to take into account of the possible traps that they may have set up.

You continue your way through the trees when you hear a faint beep. While you're tactical cameo keeps you from being seen, it doesn't stop infrared beeps from noticing you crossing them.

"By the pit..." You whisper under your breathe.

A few concealed, jury rigged tanglers shoot out bright yellow streams of plasntine coils fly towards your direction. Tanglers are non lethal countermeasures that Rhinox has in

"Rattrap come in. Looks like we're gonna have company!" Kickback says watching the streams head out.

1) Attempt to dodge the two coils heading towards you.
2) Ignore the tanglers and transform
3) Transform and attempt to attack Kickback with a stun blast, if you're going down so is he.
4) Call Dinobot for back up

>Attempt to dodge the two coils heading towards you.

You attempt to fly around the coils heading towards you but between the large tree branches and heavy foliage, there's not enough room to make sharp enough evasive maneuvers. The first coil wraps around you lower torse binding your legs and talons, allowing the second to tie up your wings.

You're going down.

The minor taze from the energy surging on the coils causes your cameo to short, allowing your adversary their first clear look at you while you start falling from the air.

"Hold Rattrap. Looks like we might have an amusing development. Hooters is down. Repeat Hooters is down." Kickback runs around a tree but you don't notice him pass to far behind it. Looks like he might be double backing to launch an attack.

Ugh, even the new guy is calling you that. YOU'RE the one suppose to do the bullying. Vermin are making fun of you. Now you feel dirty and if you're not careful, you're about to be in a bit of pain.

1.) Attempt to transform, it might break these coils
2.) Maybe you can try and figure a way to land
3.) Call Dinobot, you're not in a good place right now.
4.) Try to catch yourself on a tree, the ground is the worst place for you right now.

"Um, hey...DB? I could use a hand here."

"Report."

Oh man, he wants deets. Of all the times....

"Yea, it appears our fears of booby traps here has been, um...Confirmed."

You hear an annoyed sighing growl.

"On the way. Hold your position until i get there."

You can't help feel embarrassment to how oblivious Dinobot seems to be to your situation and do your best to suppress your own annoyance. "Yes sir, to the letter. I wont be going anywhere."

As you cut communications, you think you hear, chuckling? Oh damnit the rabbit is still here. Need to break free before he catches you.

>>
>>2589020
>Yeah. It's scary going over to someplace new
Not exactly what I'm getting at, its more like /tg/ has the big number of users, most of us got booted to /qst/ and can only receive new players if they visit the tg link that sends em over to qst or go wandering around the boards.
Then there is the issue that any board with users will have attrition from various reasons, got board, moved on, forgot since its out of the way, life happens, etc.
Now throw on another layer where you want players to go to a entirely new site that is for a rather niche hobby that normally takes place in parents basements, which makes what we do even more unusual since we are doing a online version of that hobby more or less.

So yeah, we are naturally in decline.

You figure instead of trying to escape, maybe you can stall for time. You're not sure how close Rattrap is or if he's even on his way, but you know Dinobot will need awhile to get to your position.

"So, Fluffy bunny. I see you boys raided the armory before heading out. Clever."

"Well I can't take all the credit for that. Placement was on me, but you can thank Rattrap for this inspired strategy."

Ugh. Of course the rodent would do this, seeing as he's close with Rhinox.

"You give the cheese eater too much credit. HE wouldn't have chance of catching me."

"Hehehe, well I'm sure that's high praise coming from you but he did warn me you like to talk at great length. Can't say I didn't expect it either."

Hmph. Playing hard to get huh? Smug little...

"That's to your credit, bunny boy. Still, its funny that you boys were so concerned about me, that of all the toys you brought with you, it was the ones to tie me up with. Naughty naughty."

You notice there's a bit of a prolonged silence. HA! Got'em. Too easy.

"Well its not like thats all we brought out here." You finally hear him say, with a bit less vigor in his voice. Just like one of your lil' tabbys when you first met them.

"Oh, do tell." you chuckle. "What nefarious plots and sticky situation did you have plan for me?" Thats right, lay it on thick; keep him talking and watch him slip his guts.

"Can't rightfully say. We grabbed alot of stuff. Most of it was for the raptor. RT felt he was the legitimate threat."

Oh...oh no you didn't....

>Attempt to break your bindings by transform, show him who's the real threat

Again you're met with what you are certain is stunned silence.

"Um...well...thats not exactly...wha..."

"NO! Seriously! Whats garbage has that furball been regugitating cause I'll have you know I'm awesome! Just ask Cheetor or Airazor! Or Primal, he'll vouch for me!"

While not fully part of what you were planning, you've got the rabbit hesitating. Shockingly this is working out in your favor.

"Dinobot to Nightracer! What in the pit is going on over there?"

Huh? Wait, how loud are you being?

"Wait, you can hear me?"

"I would be shocked if Megatron couldn't hear you from the Predacon base! Pipe down! I'm almost there."

Hmm, maybe the lizard is right. You need to get control of yourself. Not that it was your fault to begin with but still. This is a Maximal exercise and you don't need any Pred heads sticking there noses in it.

You're feathers ruffle and poof as you feel like you're about to make this into a live fire exercise. But deep down you know this is just a tactic; cheap bait for you to fall for by the rodents. You resist the urge to scream out in pure frustration, doing your best to not break Dinobots instructions.

"Alright alright I get it fluffy! You and the garbage breathe cheese eater are full of slag."

"Well you got to admit what Ratrap says about your social graces. And the creepy head spinning..."

"And I see you embraced the way of the rats 'all talk, no spark' philosophy."

You need to push the envelope all the way here. Every credit on the table.

"Oh I see how it is. Pick on me cause I'm not pretty right? I'm not tall and I don't got legs for days like the other fembots around here!"

"Wait...what? Um...weren't we talking about...."

You attempt to transform into robot mode. Its painful but you manage to do so breaking out of the bindings. You pop out of the bushes you were trying to conceal yourself and start stomping over towards the direction you last saw the rabbit. He's got what looks like a remote trigger in his hand when he spots you. As he's about to activate another trap you take this opportunity to take him by surprised. Hooters style.

"What, would you take me more seriously with a bursting' chest plate or something?!"

You start angrily grabbing your chest, moving them around as you get in close. He gives you a strange look like he's completely taken aback, speechless as his lower mouth moves but the sounds dont come out. Closing the gap, you take a huge risk. You're a sharpshooter, you prefer combat at range where your enemies cant touch you. Kickback is a ninja, a master of quick strike skirmishing attacks at close range. But you think he there's no answer in his programming thats ready for this.

You grab his causing him to drop the remote and he's about to try and counter what he believes to be a standard grapple, but hesitates when you pull him into your chest.

"Tell me! Whats wrong with them?!"

As you keep him in your grip, you think you can hear the sounds of heavy foot steps coming in from behind. Oh Dinobot, that's right.

This is not what it looks like....

>Try to use your position and push him into a nearby tree.

You decide to take advantage of the rabbit's inability to deal with your superstructure. Clearly he's never had to handle weapons of mass destruction before. You keep your grip on him as he's staggered and push him backwards.

Kickback is so unprepared for this that he has absolutely no chance or time to react as you move run (and fly a bit) into the very tree he was trying to conceal himself behind earlier. With a massive thud and crack, you crush him between your endowments and nature, causing him to slump to the ground, in a complete daze.

You stand back, puff up your chest with your hands on your hips. You feel awesome. You manage to emasculate and humiliate the rabbit who just humiliated you with those dumb tanglers.

As you stand there patting yourself on the back, you hear Dinobot approaching.

"Hey big D, what took ya so long?"

Dinobot just looks around and snarls. "I take it the situation has been dealt with?"

"Under control." You drop the bravado, remembering Dinobot likes to keep things by the book.

"Good, our first target has been neutralized then. Take the vermin's own binds and tie him up. Make no mistakes. This time."

You feel a bit compelled to argue but know better. Well lets see if you can get those tanglers online.

"Oh while I had Kickback using complete sentences, he said something Rattrap possibly coming here."

Dinobot holds still and sniffs the wind. "IF he's not here already."

Hmm, a good point. You were stalling for quite awhile and if Dinobot was able to get here, then theres a chance Rattrap is nearby. Sneaky mouse.

"Well keep an eye out for any other traps out here. Seems like they set up a perimeter before we reached here." You say as you walk over towards one of the tanglers that were set up.

Dinobot simply nods but quickly starts to shake his head when he watches you mess with and struggle to lift the tangler gun.

"What do you think you are doing?"

"Whats it look like? I'm tying up the prisoner. "

Dinobot sighs.

"What? Its not like i can use the ones that he used on me."

You lift up the gun and walk over towards the downed rabbit. Its a bit more cumbersome than your rifle, but you can make it work...you think.

With a pull of the trigger you bind up the rabbits legs and arms twice each. No way he's getting out of that.

You head back over to where you grabbed Kickback and look for his remote for the traps that are set up. You have to admit, tech isn't quite your forte but it couldn't be too difficult to operate right?

You find the remote but to your surprise it seems abit more complicated that it looks. You turn it over a few times, looking for anything that would give any hint as to what it controls more accurately. You do the only thing that really makes sense to you.

*smack, smack, smack*

"What are you doing?" Dinobot looks over towards you.

*smack, smack*

"I think its broken." You stand there with the remote in one hand and keep smacking it with the other. "Don't worry I'm a professional. I'll get it working right."

Dinobot shudders as he shakes his head. "Just leave it if you can't figure it out."

"I can get it! I've helped Rhinox before...." You grumble. You stop hitting it for a second and give it a careful look over once again. Turning it around and clicking a few more buttons and you think you've got it. The sound of energy powering down can be heard from where you saw one of the tangler guns.

"Ha! Told ya. Consider those traps neutralized!" Puffing up your chest feathers proudly, you shoot Dinobot a thumbs up and toss the remote over your shoulder.

The raptor again just stares at you, when you hear the sounds of a series blaster shot ring out and detonate near him.

You leap to the nearest bit of cover: a double trunk with a substantial amounts of brush on the ground. It should provide you decent cover and concealment, perfect for sniping. Of course the tree line would be to more to your advantage.

"Dinobot! Are you alright?" You pop the top of you head out of the brush, to see if you can get eyes on your squad mate. You think you notice a the raptors form trying to take cover near the opposite tree line.

"Hey ears! Whats going over there?! I thought you had Hooters dealt with and all we had to deal with was chopper face?"

You're certain that Rattrap is just trying to bait you guys out for another attack. But you don't want to reveal yourself too soon.

You reactivate your camouflage as you move around the ground while attempting not to disrupt your surroundings giving yourself away.

So far so good, the Rat doesn't seem to have caught on to you having left the brush. You slowly move to keep causing too much noise around you and make your away around a few trees. Still no sign of him. When did the Rat get this good at keeping out of sight. Well whatever, he's gonna be sorry once you get your talons on him.

Still creeping around the ground, you hear another shot go off. He still seems to be targeting toward Dinobot, but he's aiming high, causing leaves to fall from some of the trees. What's he planning?

Speaking of planning, you remember the signature markers. The original strategy you and dinobot had cooked up. Use the markers to lure out the vermin and fool them with the projector. If you quietly get a message to Dinobot, you could begin setting up your own little mouse trap.

>Call Dinobot (stealth roll required)

The leaves can land us us blowing our stealth and be seen distorted when behind us. They will also let him notice the flap of our wings...very clever rat. But not that clever

>Just start planting the markers (Inventory of 5), Dinobot will catch on surely.

You figure this plays partially into Dinobot's and your initial plan. You've got to be smart about this, especially since you determined Rattrap's plan.

The leaves can land the two of you, blowing your stealth and be seen distorted when behind you. They will also let him notice the flap of your wings should you attempt to fly out of there...very clever rat. But not that clever.

Opting to remain low on the ground, you move behind a tree that would be obscured from the rodent's line of fire. You attach the marker and press the center button. You immediately start to head off away from the tree, when you hear a series shot impact along the back side of the tree and two shots on either side attempting to see if he can hit your invisible form. Bingo! He's attempting to track you by the signatures. Time to lead him away.

Continuing to move with yourself physically obscured you place the next marker. Further back from where you initially made first contact with Kickback's traps. You set the next marker and activate it.

Again a small barrage of blaster bolts strike in a similar fashion. You only a few moments before the leaves fall to cause his desired effects. You still don't notice Dinobot since you've moved so you're not sure if he's keeping up with you. With his years of experience you remain optimistic though as you have a few options that might buy you some time.

Remaining markers (3)

>Attempt to throw one of the markers towards another tree, using a delayed activation timer/Remote timer (Roll required for tech handling skill)
>Make a run for it now and place a marker next to one of the deactivated traps, using them as a diversion.
>Climb up the backside of a tree, if the rat is looking for distortions downward he wont noticed the distortions within a tree

>Make a run for it now and place a marker next to one of the deactivated traps, using them as a diversion.

You look over the device. Fortunately, these things seem much more straight to the point than the remote control Team Vermin were using. A press of the button here, a turn of a tile and you're set. Taking the marker, you look over to one of the trees where they had another trap set up, tho this one doesn't look like a tangler. Hmm, one way to find out what it was. You toss the marker over to it, and it lands where you want it. You begin to zig zag as you move way from the surrounding area.

The toss to that direction makes a faint sound and you hear another blaster shot fire in that general direction. But its wide. Better still its causing the leaves to fall in an alternating pattern, causing a cascade effect on the leaves falling, enough to mask any 'disruption' in the area. Almost perfect concealment for you.

This allows you a few more free moments to fall back future where the tree line and ground foliage is less dense but still offers from options.

As for Rattrap though, your marker activates and you hear a "Gotcha now Hooters." You hear the his shots fire off in succession again. What he didn't expect was the explosion of the Cyclotron field snare: a device meant to deploy a massive surge of energy capable of knocking out a bot. The energy charge burst, causing the area to become sensor blind, but it'll force the rodent to come out of hiding to pursue you if he wants to find you.

>Stay where you're at get eyes on him and take a shot

You take out your sniper rifle and look down the scope. You look for the rat to make his move. Its not long after the grey fur of the rat comes scrawling out from under some brush.

"Gotcha." You double check your power output and take your shot. You hit your mark sending the rat tumbling back.

"Aw jeez! I figured you'd run off. Shoulda guessed that you'd be skulking around..."

"Like a rat?" you say. Ha! Two burns for the price of one.

"Don't celebrate yet toots! I'm still in this fight." You hear him mock.

"Well if you're so smart...then why didn't you plan on Dinobot getting the drop on you?" you add.

You notice him freeze up. You're bluffing, but you have a clean shot.

>Take the shot, though he might be a ploy
