You are Matsumoto Rangiku, sitting Lieutenant of the Ninth Division and current acting Captain for as long as Kusajishi Riku remains out of contact.

Things don't look great right now.

While the barrier is still up and Aizen is still out of the fight several Captains have gone down already, the Head Captain is missing, Halibel has been knocked out of the fight, and one of Aizen's guys has turned into a giant. You're not sure whether using damage taken to increase in size is unusually bullshit by the standards of the remaining quincies, but you kind of hope it is.

“Well, I'm out,” Bambietta grumbles, waving her good arm aimlessly. “I could keep bombing him, but it'd be literally the opposite of helpful.”

“Go check on Halibel,” you reply, jerking your head slightly in the direction you saw her fall. “I can still feel her reiatsu.”

“Yeah, sure,” Bambietta replies before taking off in that direction.

No damage is going to work, is that it? Normally against an enemy this size you'd be macerating the insides of his blood vessels with Byakkokiri until you got to his lungs, but his unique form or regeneration makes that a bad idea. Which doesn't really leave you with a whole lot of options for actually defeating him, only for...

From a distance you see something that interrupts your thought process: three fangs of light slam into Gerard's arm as he tries to bat Gin down out of the air like you might swipe at a mosquito, and Gin follows through by dropping five iron pillars on the giant's shoulder.

“They're using bakudō...” you realize aloud, working out in your head what Gin must be up to. Then you realize what his plan is: it's a curious property of bakudō that it doesn't actually cause physical harm. If it did Rikujōkōrō would be fatal instead of restraining its target, and Riku wouldn't have had to blow most of her arm off trying to turn Kuyō Shibari into an attack that could kill her targets on its own.

In a sense, bakudō is almost a perfect answer to Gerard. A powerful sealing spell would be even better, but that would require at least two Captains versed in sealing to perform it. Maybe if you hold out using this bakudō strategy Yoruichi and Shunsui could manage a sealing spell to remove him as a threat without simply making him stronger... Riku could even cut out the reishi he's been using to expand and shrink him down to size, which would also be cool to see even if it wouldn't be quite so final as sealing.

Which just means you have to stall for time either way.

>Use Rikujōkōrō: one of the more powerful bakudō you know, which could pin one of Gerard's hands in place.
>Use Gochūtekkan: slightly less powerful but with good pinning ability, aimed at his foot it could reduce his mobility.
>Go all-in, use Byakkokiri's ashes to create a few illusions, setting up for a widespread series of Enkosen to pen him in.

“Hadō 75, Gochūtekkan!” you call out, dropping five long iron towers down onto Gerard's left foot. Good, that ought to keep him from dancing around quite as much... nobody should be that much larger than you and still be that fast.

But you made a miscalculation, and Gerard immediately starts to break free. Without the incantation your Gochūtekkan is strong, and it fits the situation... but it's not all that strong. In fact your Rikujōkōrō is a little stronger still than this even without the incantation, so in order to keep this in place you'll have to take extra measures.

“Walls of iron sand, a priestly pagoda,” you begin, stretching your right hand towards Gerard and bracing your wrist with your left hand. “Glowing ironclad fireflies...”

You don't manage to complete the spell before Gerard turns on you, his giant fist moving with impossible speed and putting you through the side of a building, even with Haineko's help. Without your zanpakuto to slow that fist down you wouldn't still be able to stand.

“I almost felt that,” Gerard taunts as he breaks free from your Gochūtekkan... crap.

>Try Rikujōkōrō this time, it should hold a little better without the incantation and give you a chance to strengthen it.
>Take the time to double-cast Rikujōkōrō AND Gochūtekkan, hope he overlooks you like he's doing to Halibel.
>Use the trick you planned out with Byakkokiri to pin him with hundreds of Enkōsen cast through the ashes.
>Try using Daichi Tenyō. A mid-level spell is easier to manage, and there's plenty of debris around. It shouldn't even hurt Gerard.

You decide that you can make this work to your advantage, having been blown through a building and all. When Halibel went down Gerard promptly started to ignore her despite the fact that she's clearly alive... and probably doing the same thing as you.

“Daichi Tenyō,” you declare in an almost comedically low tone, given the fact that there's no way Gerard can even hear you from where you are. From here you can lift huge chunks of fallen wall and a few I-beams, and you set about the long, arduous task of pelting Gerard with buildings. A car smashes across his face, a chunk of wall drops on his wrist, a heavy manhole cover goes straight up his nose. None of it is anything even vaguely approaching fatal, but each success is more annoying than the last.

“Shitotsu Sansen!” you hear a shout from the distance. That would be Sui Fēng of course, with her favorite bakudō. It's a fast ranged one, so it suits her preferences.

The Sajō Sabaku that goes inside Gerard's now-massive ear is clearly Gin's doing.

You even work up the courage to use Byakkokiri like chaff to blind him, and Sekienton to fill his nose and lungs thick red smoke. Your smoke serves as a convenient screen for Gin to add a spicy little extra to the onslaught.

“When did he steal one of Ganjū's...” you wonder aloud. “No, nevermind.”

>Keep up the onslaught... the goal is staying alive, and this has been working perfectly.

You're not entirely sure what will happen with this one, but you think that you can take this opportunity to increase the pressure you've been putting on Gerard from “harassment” to “hamstringing”. So long as he just doesn't try to attack you, you may even be able to get away with it.

“Walls of iron sand, carriage of thunder, a priestly pagoda, bridge of a spinning wheel, glowing ironclad fireflies,” you chant in a low voice, building up power between your clasped hands. “Standing upright in the light, silent to the end, divide in six!”

“Bakudō 75: Gochūtekkan!”
“Bakudō 61: Rikujōkōrō!”

Five iron towers linked at their tops by silver chains fall directly onto Gerard's foot, pinning him where he stands as the six rods of light embed themselves in his left wrist like a bizarre wristwatch. You see Sui Fēng put a trio of kidō fangs into his other foot, while Ichimaru puts another bind on his right wrist.

For the first time since he started fighting, Gerard seems concerned.

“Bankai: Daiguren Hyōrinmaru!”

From seemingly out of nowhere, Captain Hitsugaya re-enters the fray, rushing the stricken Sternritter with his sword held high. “I won't waste this chance!”

“Sennen Hyōrō!”

Several pillars of ice rise up from the ground, spinning rapidly around Gerard until they meet his body and press in on all sides. Eventually the gaps between the pillars shrink to visible seams, and then the seams are obliterated as Geraard is fully encased.

“Captain!” you call out, joining Hitsugaya at his side. “Shouldn't you still be resting?”

“And shouldn't you be asking fewer questions?” he grumbles. “I'd thought with the way Kusajishi fights you'd know better.”

“Well I can see I was concerned for your health without need,” you roll your eyes. “If you're well enough to be a smartass you're well enough to fight.”

“Think that got him?”

Hitsugaya turns to stare at his handiwork. “No. Feel that?”

“I'd hoped I was wrong,” you shake your head.

“It only bought us time to think,” Hitsugaya informs you. “Time to come up with a plan for taking this monster out of the fight for good.”

“And what makes you think the techniques of a child could even achieve that much?”

The ice begins to crack.

“Vollständig: Ashetonig.”

The giant sternritter shatters himself free of his icy prison, and a rain of debris falls onto the copy of Karakura town laying further waste to its remaining buildings. Gerard looks only slightly changed, with thick dark bands crossing his bare torso and arms and a helmet in addition to the wings every Vollständig seems to add to its wielder's appearance.

But the biggest difference is in his reiatsu.

“Behold, the noble warrior of God,” he booms, towering even higher over everything around him. “I do not like resorting to this power, as it seems cruel to use it against women and children, but you leave me no choice.”

He raises his sword...

…and instead of swinging his sword, he points the tip at you.

“Haineko!” you shout, almost too late to be any good. The blast is immense, easily as strong as any cero you've ever seen... but ultimately it's not different enough. That's going to work to your advantage.

The blast hits the highly-reflective cloud of Byakkokiri's ashes and scatters in an impressive lightshow, but the force of the blast is still enough to knock you out of the air and back to the city streets below. The pain is searing and the flash blinding, and the blow to the back of your head leaves you feeling seasick.

You try to move your fingertips, and find that you can't feel them. A slow, nausea-inducing glance reveals that they're still there: burned a little, but there. It's probably just the concussion.

You're... not going to be moving, at least for a little while.

For the first time in decades you have to restrain your bloodlust, to hold back from doing something rash and extremely violent that might jeopardize your overall objectives. Gerard may have just badly hurt someone you like, but the best way to proceed is to pick up the slack and keep up with her plan... or is it?

Now that you think about it her plan of binding or sealing Gerard was a good one, but neither you nor anyone else here is capable of holding him for very long. The problem is that ability of his, the so-called miracles he 'performs'. But be it an ability or an inherent property, it's a discreet phenomenon that's actually happening in real time, in the real world. That means far from being some sort of unbeatable abstract concept, it must operate within some set of definitions and limitations.

“Damage,” you mutter, narrowly escaping a scything strike from Gerard's sword. That's right, 'damage' doesn't include bakudō that technically doesn't actually cause tissue damage. That's one limitation Rangiku found for you quite quickly, but what are the other boundaries of this technique?

He may call them “miracles”, but you have a hard time imagining that they simply don't follow any rules or have any limits.

“Kill him, Kamishini no Yari!”

You slash outward with your zanpakuto, cutting at least a foot into Gerard's massive bicep before following through. “Tsuzuri Raiden.”

The electric shock causes Gerard to jerk his arm away, but your sword has already retracted.

“Butō: Ōkasen Renjin.”

You release Kamishini no Yari about two dozen times in rapid succession, each thrust embedding into Gerard's torso or arms before releasing a fang-like ray of reiatsu into his body mimicking the Ōkasen spell. The volume of blows is staggering, and he simply takes most of them until your assault ceases.

Then, he regenerates.

So that's a limitation as well, you realize: he's not continuously regenerating, he regenerates all the damage all at once.

>There has to be a point of vulnerability here, coordinate with Sui Fēng to find it and exploit it.
>There has to be a limit to the amount of damage he can regenerate from before he's too dead to recover.

In D&D one of the best ways to overcome the Tarrasque, a giant deadly beast with insane regeneration, is to put it to sleep, and then get some shovels and wheelbarrows, and pack its nose and lungs full of dirt.
Because it can't regenerate from suffocation damage if the suffocation is still ongoing. It's not truly dead, but as long as nobody digs it out, it'll never wake up again.

You suppose the best plan would be to use an attack that he can't simply regenerate all at once, like something that could cause continuing damage. The trouble is you can only really think of one kidō like that, and it's not especially high-level. So in order for this plan to work, you're going to have to work for it.

“Damn,” you mutter.

You rush the giant Sternritter, using Kamishini no Yari to aggressively defend against Gerard's counterattack. Eventually you get close enough to put your plan in motion.

“Hadō 54: Haien!”

A violet ball of flames hits Gerard square in his eye, prompting howls of pain as the spell burns off all the moisture inside and flash-fries his cornea. In an instant Auntie Fēng joins your newest assault, stabbing Gerard in the base of his throat then cocking her arm back for the second blow.

You're not about to be outdone.

“Butō.”
“Nigeki Keissatsu!”

Just after Sui Fēng lands her attack you follow up on your own attack. “Kill him, Kamishini no Yari.”

The fragment of your sword you left embedded inside Gerard's skull instantly dissolves the tissues in his brain, even as the venom left by Suzumebachi takes effect and destroys the flesh at the base of his neck. The combined effect is that Gerard is badly maimed from the neck up, his head hanging from his shoulders basically by a thin strand of muscle fibers and leaking brain blood from his eyes, nose, and ears.

Or at least you'd imagine both his eyes would be bleeding, were one of them not on fire.

“It hurts,” Gerard admits. “This is a deep pain. It would take a Miracle to recover from such grievous wounds.

And then he regenerates. The fire goes out. His head re-attatches.

And he blasts you from the air with a shocking burst of speed, same as he did to Miss Halibel, Captain Hitsugaya, and Rangiku.

You are Captain Suí Fēng, and if you can take any consolation it's in the fact that at very least nobody is dead yet. Brutally wounded or unconscious, yes, but not dead.

But it looks like you're about to...

“Don't tell me you're thinking about a suicide run,” Bambietta interrupts your train of thought.

“I was not,” you lie. “We onmitsu are willing to trade our lives, but we do not seek...”

“You were totally getting ready for a suicide run!” Bambietta accuses you. “Well, knock it off. You've got backup.”

“She may be a bitch, but she's right,” a second voice admits.

“What are you doing!?” you demand. “Captain Kusajishi would kill me if anything happened to...”

“Shut up,” Apacci grumbles. “If we're gonna last until Riku and Yoruichi get back we've all gotta go all out.”

As much as you hate her familiar use of Lady Yoruichi's name, the arrancar girl has a point.

>Tell them to buy you time, as much as you hate it dying without using your Bankai would be dishonorable.
>These two would be better suited to trying to overwhelm Gerard's recovery abilities, so you'll pursue that plan.

“I need you to give me some time,” you tell Basterbinne and Emilou. “I'm going to hit him with something special.”

“You got it,” Emilou nods curtly. “Hey Bambietta, think you can stomach working with an arrancar?”

“I'm definitely not gonna let you show me up,” Basterbinne snorts. “With one arm off we should be about equal.”

“Good to hear losing an arm made you stronger!” the arrancar quips.

And it's good to hear that these two are in good fighting spirits. It fills you with determination.

You dash clear at the same instant where both arrancar and quincy unload a series of powerful blasts against Gerard, who raises his arm to protect his eyes... having apparently learned from Ichimaru.

“You disappoint me, Bambietta,” he rumbles, swinging his oversized blade at his former comrade.

“And you don't surprise me,” Basterbinne retorts as you find one of the very few buildings left standing. “You always were a zealot... no mind there to begin with.”

You quickly loosen your sash to reveal the ginjōtan... a heavy sash woven of silk and steel. Its manufacture is a secret of the Fēng clan, intended to restrain criminals and possible threats to the Shihōin family. With Lady Yoruichi as its Clan Head the Shihōin have not been in serious danger for many long years, and you know that now far better than you did as a child. But the ginjōtan has not become totally irrelevant.

Instead of binding an attacker, this strip of silvery fabric is meant to bind you.

Several more bomblets collide with Gerard's back and the side of his head, as ceros pelt him all over. Emilou raises her hand in a small trail of blood.

“Gran Reina Cero!”

As the cero blasts against Gerard's upraised sword, you release your own ultimate attack. Something so gaudy and ridiculous that you have long renounced its use.

“Bankai: Jakuhō Raikōben!”

You're glad that neither Lady Yoruichi nor Lady Riku are here to see this. They'd never let you hear the end of it.

You fire the single missile at Gerard, and it flies true at a speed even you'd have a hard time realizing you'd fired it were it not for the enormous recoil that destroys the building behind you. But when the dust settles you find that your shot has seemingly missed... or at least you'd consider it a miss. You took out a chunk from the crown of his skull but you know that's not going to do the job.

You were so sure it was going to hit.

Then you see Emilou, clutching at her ribs. Her entire left side is covered in blood and steaming, and you recognize that she's obviously had to sear an open wound shut.

“Hey,” she grunts. “Good to see you're alright. Damaging that guy's sword damages you back. So I warped it off track... sorry about that. No time to tell you.”

Reiatsu.

You can feel several powerful fighters approaching rapidly. And so when one of them comes to a halt behind you, you've already pulled a knife on him.

“What are you doing here?” you glare at the newcomer.

Even his grin irritates you... too many teeth, too white and straight to be human. “Whatcha talkin' about, Captain Fēng? You've all been making such a mess it got impossible to ignore you. So... here we are.”

“Now then... about this big bastard you got here...”

You are Hirako Shinji, a Vizard who formerly served as a Captain in the Soul Society. A hundred years ago you were betrayed by your own Lieutenant, a man by the name of Aizen Sōsuke who you always kinda knew was dangerous, and a bunch of your fellow officers got stuck with hollow reiatsu. You gained some new powers for the fact, but you also got kicked out of the Soul Society because of it.

Generally you tend to think that was unfair, especially since Captain Shihōin and then-Lieutenant Kusajishi got away with the same thing for at least fifty years. But pettiness doesn't look good on you, and you're pretty sure you'd be in the minority if you held it against them.

“Now then, about this big bastard you got here...” you begin, staring at the now stupendously-large quincy. “Tell me about him, Captain Fēng.”

“Damaging his sword hurts you,” Fēng informs you, glancing over your shoulder at the arrancar who was fighting with her before by the feel of it. “Damage to him makes him bigger and stronger.”

“He has rapid regeneration?” you ask for confirmation.

Fēng shakes her head. “He regenerates all at once, attacks that should normally be fatal don't seem to work.”

So, he's a big bastard specifically because the people here mostly focus on damaging attacks rather than sealing or trickery? And he's been feeding off of that for lord knows how long?

Well that's just peachy.

>Hachi! Take care of this guy, would you? We'll back you up.

“Hachi!” you shout at the former Lieutenant. “I want you to take the big bastard. You heard everything?”

“I did,” Hachigen bows politely. “Though I am not sure how to interpret that request. Do you expect me to kill that which evidently cannot be killed.”

“Use your imagination,” you insist. “We'll give you support while you set up whatever it is you need.”

Then you turn your attention back to Captain Fēng... when you left the Seireitei she was still a girl, and now she's a Captain. Just the thought of that makes you a little bit bitter. “Make sure all the wounded are outta the way.”

And now comes the interesting part: how do you actually deal with these two enemies?

>Release Sakanade, spread its ability around and wait to trigger it at the perfect moment.
>Use hollowfication to increase your speed and striking power, use that as a distraction.
>Pick a few volunteers to apply physical pressure while you release Sakanade.

“I need volunteers,” you declare.

“Outta my way, baldy!” you hear a shout, and you feel a heavy blow against the back of your head.

“Hiyori!” you spit in shock. “What the hell are you doing, you idiot!?”

“You talk too much, baldy!” Hiyori insists loudly, drawing her sword. “Hey Lisa, you ready to go?”

“I would have been even without you shouting at me,” Lisa counters, drawing her sword as well.

“Well, that's nice,” you grumble mutinously. “You know your job, right?”

“Of course,” Lisa nods resolutely.

“Reverse,” you declare, drawing your zanpakuto and calling it out. “Sakanade.”

This could actually be tricky, though you wouldn't admit it to anyone else. It's the damn rain... it will make it a bit more difficult to spread the airborne poison that actually triggers your shikai's special ability.

It's hard to move your poison towards Gerard, at least until you realize that you can feel something a little unusual.

“It's rising?” you muse, catching another hint of the constant updraft. Yes, that's it... there's a strong convective current at the heart of this storm: the rain will make it a little harder to get Sakanade's effect spread around, but the rising air currents will make it far easier for your efforts to reach Gerard.

With some luck you may even be able to get to that other quincy, who so far is simply content to observe Gerard as he swats at Lisa and Hiyori. As the duo dodge and weave around their giant opponent, you catch brief flashes of white... are they already using their hollowfication? Yeah, now that you're paying them a bit closer attention you can tell from their reiatsu that they've already resorted to it. Even though both of their zanpakuto are released they can't either can't land a hit on the guy or they don't think it will do any good.

“Hey you two!” you shout, trying hard to draw attention away from Hachi as he releases his own hollowfication. “You can't hit him if you keep dancin' around like that!”

“If we don't keep 'dancin' he'll break all our bones with one punch!” Hiyori complains, still weaving her way around Gerard's blows. “Stupid bald idiot!”

“Call me whatever you want,” you shout. “Still doesn't mean you can beat a guy without hitting him!”

“Well why don't you come up and fight him, huh!?”

“No thanks!” you shout back. “What kind of leader would I be if I didn't rely on my subordinates, even if they are loud, annoying idiots!?”

You are Hachigen Ushōda, former second in command of the kidō corps, and your duty is to bind a near-invincible warrior so that he can no longer harm your comrades. The other vizards are doing a good job distracting Gerard Valkyrie, while those who are not fighting are watching carefully to learn what they can about the way the quincy fight.

These are, after all, a rare foe. And there's no telling how many more you may end up needing to fight even if you can defeat Gerard successfully.

You may just have a solution. While you do not know of any binding techniques you can use against that large of an opponent without coordinating with another kidō expert, you do know that bakudō does not actually cause physical harm to be regenerated. You have no doubt that the Captains considered this point and have been trying to press that advantage, but it's not pride to say that they did not have the wide array of tools at their disposal that you do. And one tool suggests itself.

Though you have never used it this way, there's no reason at all to believe that you cannot maintain it for as long as you can maintain your mask. The problem is that you can only maintain your mask for five minutes.

That will have to be enough.

You don your hollow mask in an instant, the familiar power flowing through you. And that power is going to be the key difference in this attempt. Without it you could never hope to cast this spell over so large a target.

Snapping your fingers rapidly you form a blue kidō box around Gerard's hand as he tries to smack Hiyori from the air. Lisa quickly pins his other palm for you, and you dutifully project a box around that as well completely surrounding his sword as well.

“What is this?” he asks curiously, moving his arms around. “Such a weak spell... what did you hope to achieve?”

“This,” you reply, clapping your hands in front of you.

The boxes turn red.

And then they fall to the ground with Gerard's hands and sword still trapped inside.

Gerard glances down at his new stumps. “Ah. Well that is a setback.”

Not a horrible idea at all, just difficult to pull off. No one here has the raw, overwhelming power to destroy Mr. Miracle in a single blow. When the spell containing Aizen comes down, he's going to see his entire 'army' has been wiped out by a handful of special forces composed of misfits and oddballs with functioning brains in their heads. “Shall we?” Rose asks you, drawing his sword.

You nod, drawing your own blade. “Yeah, I think it's time.”

With a swift shunpō your long-time partner in crime takes the lead, releasing his zanpakuto. “Play, Kinshara!”

Rose's shikai isn't really so much of a sword, instead taking the form of a long golden whip with a flower-like head. He directs it skillfully towards the quincy, who smacks it aside with the back of his hand with an almost complete disregard towards the attack. With a twist of his wrist Rose doubles the head back, and with a second shunpō he wraps the long whip around the quincy in a wide lasso.

“Crush down, Tengumaru!” you call out, releasing your own shikai while Rose continues to maneuver his whip around the quincy. You begin to spin it to gather momentum, releasing a gout of fire as the massive black kanabō whirls in a blur.

Above you, Rose is finished setting up. “Kinshara Sōkyoku Dai Jūichiban – Izayoi Bara.”

With a single stroke with his fingertips against the whip, releasing a powerful series of vibrations that follow its length from handle to tip in what looks more like an explosion than a burst of noise. Then, as the quincy is still reeling from the overpressure, you drop down on him with Tengumaru.

The blow sends the quincy streaking into the ground, crushing what little remains of a building which falls in on top of him. He doesn't reappear.

“So, you think we got him?” Rose wonders.

You shake your head. “You know we didn't.”

With a sigh, Rose retracts Kinshara to a more manageable length. “Yes, but there's a certain way this is done you see. You read Jump, don't you?”

“Man, this isn't a comic!” you roll your eyes. “Though I'd definitely say this guy's unreal enough to be a comic villain.”

“I have no idea how strong he really is,” Rose admits.

“And he's seen us use our shikais,” you realize. “Damn.”

“Well then we wait,” Rose finally agrees. “We'll see what he does.”

And you only have to wait for a few tense seconds before the quincy pushes the debris away. He quickly dusts himself off, then uses a hirenkyaku to take to the skies once more.

“Not like you can tell,” you shake your head in disbelief. It's like neither of your attacks even left a mark on him. “Your hair hasn't even changed.”

“Love Aikawa,” you respond.

Next to you, Rose adds a little flourish to his bow. “Rōjurō Otoribashi. We're former Captains.”

You decide to up the ante significantly with this next attack.

“Rose,” you grumble. “Let's use it.”

“Are you sure?” he asks.

You nod grimly. “If we don't I'm not sure how this ends for us.”

“Well then, I'll play my part,” Rose agrees, reaching for his face.

The two of you attack in your hollowfied forms, each movement that much quicker and your reiatsu much more powerful and violent. This time when Rose weaves his zanpakuto around Askin to restrict his room for dodging, you reach out with your palm.

“Cero.”

The powerful blast burns away at Askin's clothes and skin, sending him crashing down a second time.

“Did we get him that time?” Rose asks.

You sigh in frustration. “You keep asking that.”

“Call it optimism.”

“I can appreciate that,” you shake your head.

“As can I,” Askin agrees.

You raise Tengumaru instinctively, but Askin raises his burned arms. “There's no need for that. Not like it'll do anything anyhow.”

“What?” you scowl, not liking where this is going.

“Let's go ahead and do the stereotypical monologue nonsense now,” Askin shrugs his shoulders in resignation. “Starting with the obvious: why is the hollow reiatsu not killing him?”

“The thought crossed my mind.”

“Well, for a quincy hollow reiatsu is like a poison,” he explains. “It all depends on virulence, on crossing a certain threshold. Too high a concentration and even oxygen can be fatal, and in too low a concentration the worst poison is harmless.”

“So?” you press. “Where's all this going?”

“My ability is to toy around with those thresholds, to raise them and lower them as I see fit.”

That... that doesn't sound good. In fact, it's starting to sound like you're screwed.

“Askin Nakk le Vaar... the Deathdealing,” Askin introduces himself. “Pleased to meetcha.”

And that's all for now. I'm gonna be busy all day tomorrow, so we'll start the new threads on Sunday.

Thanks for playing along, hope you enjoyed the read, and see you all later!

Apologies, but the new threads will have to be on the 25th. My schedule got a little more restrictive at the same time when I really need more time to plan and write. Also, I would rather be able to do full-length sessions.
