No, holy is "low tier human to normal human" while divine is "normal human and upwards".

AND he's been left 'in charge' a lot so yeah, he's grown more mature. He's definitively in the 'normal human int' zone, and is only held back by the fact we had a chance to let him evolve into a humanoid path and decided to keep him in a beast path.

Which I felt was kind of a shame because, while we have Okaba as our best friend, since he's busy with his kingdom and the research (the same is true for asmund, probably more so since his city-estate policies see assassination as a valid way to replace their leader), we've had a 'bro-shaped' hole in our group.

We'd need to let him go, turn him into a civilized creature, then turn him into a monster again.

When we did it with the alquian trooper, it sent him back down to the bronze-tier form, and if he had been high level enough, he could have evolved again right there.

If we do it to Lyann, we would have to choose like 13+ different evolution paths for her in one go, sort of like with Matty when we finally removed her ahoge, but more so due to level difference.

Using the pods... uhmm... yeah, sounds fine. Just have him step in then back out and that should do it, I think, but it somehow feels weird since I sort of grew used to him as he is, now.

I think its interesting. He's a human-smart giant crab who babysits our other pets despite not being able to talk

We need to figure out a way to upgrade the Throneship with better engines. It would require some time in a dry dock, but we can always speed up work by paying more resources.

Our beautiful redhead seems to be quite happy to wait for the teapot to boil as she stands there... there's a seductively homeliness about it that manages to look exciting and proper at the same time. Her race's special trait is that they can harvest resrources from an area without actually diminishing the resident's own harvest. They basically raise the productivity of hexes they are adjacent to, which means 6 hexes plus the one they are actually IN at the time.

As such, they are a boon to other civilizations, since they can simply fly unto an occupied hez, double the output of that one hex (including mines and foodgeons) while the hiveship's own workers harvest resources from the adjacent hexes, which would normally go unnatended in the first place.

Their host gets double the amount of resources, and they get to piggyback their defenses to fend off monsters and hostiles.

Well, the good thing about where the lab is placed is that it makes it easy to test prototypes and such. We summon Tien out of the carriage, and tell her to take on the gryphons.

She nods enthusiastically, and with a "Here I come!", leaps into the sky as she transforms. If we thought the horses were spooked before, they are plain horrified now, but the driver had already set the bakes and they can't just run off anymore.

A gryphon lands hard a few moments later, half dead. We promptly catch it and add it to our menagerie.

As expected, it is lvl 26, which is not bad for a wilderness mob, really.

Uhmm Ill be honest i genuinely did not remember we got some, but yeah, they're pretty classical gryphons. They're not -really- native to the area, more like descendants from gryphons our family bred at some point.

Classic (Lion + Brown Eagle)
Eopolis, north of Opal mountain range, south of Alquia

Mountain (Cougar + Bald Eagle)
North of Silverspire, Bastion, south of Opal mountain range.

Spotted (Jaguar + Harpy Eagle)
Hêven, Lapsiona, Marshlands east of Alquia, jade islands

The classical one is the largest and strongest, so its the one typically used as a mount.

The mountain ones are 'average' sized. Faster but can't carry as much. Typically used as scourts of 'light' cavalry

The spotted ones are the smallest ones, body-wise, but are also considered the most dangerous ones since they don't lust after horse meat the way the other species do. They really, really like humanoid meat. They are also the most cunning type and typically resist training so they're considered as pure 'monsters'. Though people keep trying to domesticate them anyway.

The mountain ones are regular horses.

The spotted ones are arabian thoroughbreeds. Plus they are the smartest since humanoids tend to be a lot smarter than the average horse.

We follow the last gryphon with Radiant, and find a large nest on a mountain cliffside. There's upwards of 2 dozen mountain gryphons nesting here, and as they spot a dragon cominc close, they take up to the sky to try and shoo us off.

Well, two dozen gryphons is more than enough to shoo away your average dragon, really...

We fight them for a bit, but just enough to catch the one we had been chasing before 'fleeing' and dismounting, then coming back using stealth to see which nest has lost its parents.

We do find a nest, but sadly it has neither eggs nor chicks yet. After making sure it is the only empty nest, we make our way back to the carriage.

"How was it, milord? Did you found what you were looking for?" - asks Kya as we enter the carriage again
"Yes and no. I caught the two of them, but they didn't seem to have any chicks."

We make our way to the mines, and greet the owner.

It is the same centaur young lady we met at the ball a few nights ago. She greets us politely and invites us to the manager's building.

The building is a few hundred feet away from the mine's entrance, and there's a few strong hired guards around. Well, due to their collar, the slaves can't really revolt, so the guards are probably there to fend off monsters and the like.

Well, they ARE mining rubies, after all, so it is natural that they would be a target for thieves and brigands.

We talk with the owner for a bit, and then ask for a tour while our companions stay here and look through the books.

The mines are.. primitive, but I believe I remember ruby mines in our own worls not being much better, either. The ground is rather muddy, and it doesn't seems possible to build support beams, as the mud would just drip down around them.

I wonder if a stripmine wouldn't be better? Or would the mud just flow in and fill it up? There has to be an option in a world of magic, right?

Well a screw just leapt out of my glasses and the glass fell... its the right side one, though, and im blind on that side so its not a big issue, but in the end looks like im gonna have to go downtown tomorrow anyway if i want it fixed... so annoying, its just a screw. Well, there's a few ideas thanks to our previous world, and most aren't even magical, such as draining the terrain by digging a trench and letting gravity do its work.

It won't even be particularly expensive. The people of this world are just too used to depending on magic for everything.

Speaking of which, I remember seeing the dwarves use magic to turn mud into stone, though... yeah, its probably easier in every way to just drain the water with a trench. Cheaper, too.

Well, there's only 5 platforms on the lobby, though, since they lead to the 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th. 50th and last (60th) floor.

Still, that seems like a fair compromise between security and comfort. Just need 5 guards, one next to each platform.

Actually, there's no guard in the lab (60th floor), but there are a couple of high level sorcerer kings and their assistants, so its probably the safest floor, come think about it.

Their dad wanted to harvest Dawn's still living organs to implant them on himself, taking advantage of the lower rejection rate granted by them being directly related (father and daugther).
He wanted a succubus ability to drain and process magic, but he himself was a vampire, so he made a vampire/succubus hybrid (Dawn).

Since organ rejection chance goes down considerably when both the donor and the recipient are related, she's his daugther.

Once he had a succubus/vampire hybrid daughter of the right age (so her organs were the right size), he proceeded to harvest her organs. Since she was a vampire, there was the bonus that she couldn't die from the procedure AND that she would regenerate her organs, so he harvested the fuck out of her.

When we arrived at his lab, there were basicaly dozens of hearts, livers, kidneys, lungs... etc safely stored away in mini stasis fields.

We can turn her into a pet, burn 300 out of her 3270 total monster levels to evolve her all the way to mythic, then turn her back into citizen and redistribute her job/class levels minus like 5% of her previous levels. Its not really that big a loss for the power boost of the evolutions.

Not really, because its not a direct level-by-level exchange. Its done by exp.

The 'first 300 levels of exp' needed to reach mythic would barely translate to like 2 levels off the top of each of her classes.

level 75 requires a hell of a lot more exp than level 1 to level up, if you know what im saying.

If we 'cut off' level 75 and 76 of every class she has, it would be more than enough to hit level 335+ as a monster.

We call out Miel II, then gather around the middle of the room as we call out the crystal faery for the first time.

Well... it looks like a golf-sized ball of bright light with four spread out slabs of crystal behind it. It bobs in place in mid air, and it takes us a moment to notice the tiny humanoid figure in the light.

Un. This tiny figure has short, slightly tomboyish 'hair' or crystal and a tremendously pale skin, to the point that yes, it is hard to notice through the light. The crystals are floating right next to her shoulderblades, without touching her body or each other, inch-long shards of clear crystal with a subtle blue shine.

"Hello." - we call to it, and it spins around to face us, looking obviously surprised.

Its tiny wings aren't flapping, so this one probably flies solely through magic.

"Ah." - she replies after a moment of looking at us, then flies back a little

She gets closer to Miel and Miel II, then looks at them for a bit before looking back at us.

"Yes, that is our Master." - explains the youngest of the honey faeries - "Go say hello."

The crystal faery flies (hovers?) back to us, and makes a soft ringing sound.

Uhmm... she was meant to have [Divine] intelligence, so maybe she just doesn't knows the language. It took Tien about a week to learn to speak, after all.

It took Fleur several months, but she wasn't even [Holy] though, so wasn't it actually surprisingly fast?

Anyway, I was thinking back to pokemon, and ditto. Then was thinking that it would be easier to get 1 vampire + 1 shapeshifter, and keep the shapeshifter to whore it out the same way you'd whore out a ditto in pokemon. But then i remembered that we got to choose a lot of stuff about Tien so its actually not needed.

Just in case you haven't played pokemon, ditto can breed with basically any other pokemon in the game, and the result will be a pokemon of the other pokemon species, so its a highly sought after 'mon to use as breeding partner for all those super rare pokemon you can normally only get one of in the game.

Glasses, juice jugs, small dishes for the glasses. Of course, the glasses aren't glass, since the glass industry is still in diapers. They're metal with gold designs, giving a silver/gold contrast that is full of elegance.

It is the same for the jugs.

Oh, even before tasting them, we can smell the scent of fruit in the air. For some reason, we can tell that the juice is quite cold... ah, its the condensation on the metal glasses, that's what tipped us off on it.

I wonder if ice magic was used, or if Okaba bought one of those fridges we taught the dwarves how to make= Well, there's a very good chance that if he bought one, he took it apart and reassembled it enough times to understand how it works, anyway.

Our world's... well, our first world's banana had been selected and breed until it was basically candy-grown candy. Its seeds, which in other species are the entire purpose of the fruit, had been so selectively breed against, until it was impossible to grow new plants from its own seed, and we began growing bananas in a similar way to grapes, by cutting off pieces of the stalk and planting them to grow new plants.

In a very real way, every single banana in every single market and supermarket on Earth comes from the exact same cloned banana tree.

I remember reading that a fungus was devastating those plantations... I wonder if the folks on Earth finally found a replacement, or if my old world became banana-less...

Yup, looking at her sleeping face, you can't help but want to protect her. I guess I understand Okaba's complicated feelings a bit better now.

Sadly(?), all the ring can do is show us her character sheet, and on status it only shows [Pregnant]

Again, it probably needs some visual input, which means we can't use it to check on the child's wellbeing.

We instruct Lyann to use her [Aria of Regeneration] while we go get Ren's doctor.

It is well known fact (on Earth) that babies can hear their mother's voice, and there used to be a fad suggesting mothers to have music play nearby for their unborn children in order to stimulate their intelligence.

That means there's a chance the baby will hear the song and get the regeneration effect. It may just manage to outdo the poison damage.

*** A few minutes later, we are talking with the doctor ***


"You did the right thing. A healing spell would have affected only the mother." - says the doctor - "But you could have given her a healing potion and help the baby that way, you know?"

Even though she sounds calm, the doctor is collecting her things in as hurriedly a way as she can, while still making sure she has all the vital tools and medicines.

"Alright, let's go." - she says, and we arrive in minutes at Okaba's palace

Both Okaba and the royal family's doctor are already there when we bring the doctor in.

Everyone but the doctor and Lyann have been kicked out of the room, though.

We introduce the doctor to Okaba, and he gets her into the room, then thanks us for our actions.

After a seemingly eternal wait, the Hêven family doctor comes out and announces that both the mother and the baby are perfectly fine.

Okaba is admitted into the room, and we can barely make out his and Aura's relieved voices coming from inside.

The atmosphere in the hallway has deflated, and everyone is smiling in relief.

After a short while, Ren's doctor comes out and asks us to send her back home. It seems she left some medicine behind, and wants to arrange for Aura to drop by for periodic checkups from now on.

Well, let's thank her and take her home. Thankfully, the baby wasn't hurt.

A few minutes later, when we come back, Okaba has sent Aura to their room, and is ready to welcome us in the guest room.

Eh, I can easily imagine him getting seriously overprotective and commanding Aura to go rest, medical 'all ok' or not.

"My friend, thank you very much." - is all he says as he holds our shoulders with a really mellow expression
