Last time, on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:

After sending your children out on their first mission, you had Raven send you through one of her portals to Planet Azar. Once there you’d met with Ambassador Turles and Princess Komand’r, then sparred with the two of them. You defeated the pair handily, then began training as you traveled towards Raxus Prime. One month into your trip, however, you’d intercepted a distress signal coming from planet Invicta. Changing course, you and Meloka landed down on the planet and found a survivor, sending him off to Freeza Planet 79 once Raven, Ubo, Vegeta, and Bardock had joined you planetside. You’d left your ship in orbit, something you’d decided is looking more and more like a good idea. As we rejoin Karn, Ubo had just tackled the robot Janus through his own portal, Ubo’s ki disappearing as the portal shut behind him.

“UBO!!” Raven shouts, desperately trying to open a portal to her friend. “Come back! Ubo, please, come back!”
“Raven.” you say, putting your hands on her shoulders. “Raven, stop.”
“But he-!!” she says, reaching in vain into the sky. “Ubo....”
“We’ll get him back.” you tell her, pulling the saddened witch to you. “I promise, we’ll get Ubo back.”
“Perhaps this lab is like the one on Kvir’s moon, and you can’t scan powerlevels through it.” Bardock says. It’s something you hadn’t considered, but it’s a valid point. “And that coward peon told us exactly where it is. I say it’s time we go kick that door in.”
“We should be careful.” King Vegeta says, you all turning to him. “Nefarious is a sneaky bastard, it wouldn’t surprise me if this pet robot of his activated some sort of defenses Nefarious had built.”
“It doesn’t matter what’s in there.” Raven says, you seeing a familiar glowing red rune appearing on her forehead. “I’m going.”

“You’re not going in there alone.” Meloka says, transforming in a flash of light. “I’m coming.”
“We should split up.” you say, letting go. “King Vegeta, Bardock, you handle the locals. Once you’re finished wiping them out, regroup with us at the fortress.”
“Alright.” Bardock says, Vegeta nodding. They understand what you meant. If one of that bastard’s traps catches the three of you, they’ll be the backup to bail you out. They turn to each other and nod, sharing a quick telepathic conversation before the two warriors blast off, one to each of the major cities. Meanwhile the three of you take off, headed directly to the planet’s southern pole. You three skirt the massive battle being waged beloe, however in your brief glimpse you do notice that one warrior stands above the others, literally on a mountain of bodies as it swings a hammer back and forth, crushing the others. You can’t sort out the powerlevels below, but that one warrior is impressive. For one of it’s own kind, at least.

Passing the battle, the rest of your trip goes by uneventfully until you all arrive to the southern pole. The air is frigid, snow falling enough to partially obscure your vision. You see the scars of the PTO soldiers’ battle with Janus and Bellona below, scorch marks, craters, and the remains of the soldiers littering the landscape around an old stone fortress. Nefarious couldn’t even build his own lab, he had to comandeer a building built by the natives? Whatever, this means at least it’s defenses probably won’t be-

“Karn look out!” Raven shouts, you blinking and suddenly seeing a swarm of his old anti-air missiles approaching you from the left. In response you lift both hands and gather your ki into your fingertips.
“Scatter Beams!!” you shout, firing ten beams and destroying the approaching salvo. Another swarm are fired from your right, Raven catching them with her dark power and sending them back to where they came, destroying the camouflaged ground launcher. Yet more and more missiles keep coming, flying at the three of you from every direction.

“Dammit, they just keep coming!” Meloka shouts, sending the shards of her blade into more of the missiles and destroying them. “What do we do?”

“We’ll hold here.” you shout over the explosions, using your Eye Beams to shoot down another half-dozen missiles. “He’ll run out of shots eventually!”

And so you all hold your ground, trapped in midair by the swarm of missiles. You hold the missiles at bay, blasting them down with beams from your fingertips and eyes. Meanwhile Meloka swings her ki blade back and forth, sending swarms of her own needle-like projectiles at the missiles. Raven uses her dark magics to defend herself, grabbing the missiles and slammjng them into each other, or blasting swarms away with bolts of black lightning. You all float there back-to-back, defending each other’s backs and protecting each other.

“Hey Daddy?” Chaya asks you suddenly via telepathically.
“Hey kiddo, how’s the mission going?” you ask her. “Having fun?”
“No.” she replies, Chaya seeming disappointed. “Nobody wants to fight, they all just run away!”
“I’m sorry kiddo, not every mission will be fun.” you reply, blasting away another few dozen missiles. “Tell you what; when you get back, how about you and me spar? You can go all-out, not holding anything back. How’s that sound?”
“OKAY!!” she replies excitedly.
“So, what were you calling about kiddo?” you ask her, wanting to know what’s on her mind.
“Oh yeah! Umm, well, there’s a building here.” she says. “But I don’t think I’m supposed to go in there, it looks really really old. What do I do?”
“Well, you can do a few things.” you tell her. “You can either just blow it all up, leave it alone, or go inside. If you go inside, be careful. It might be full of traps.”
“Like Drea-zone?” she asks you, you getting the feeling she’s excited again. “Okay, I’m goin’ it!”
“Have fun in there.” you tell her. “And be careful.”
“I will.” she says, you ending the communication as suddenly your instincts scream that you, Meloka, and Raven are all in real danger! Tossing a Scattershot to buy you a second or two, you look over your shoulder to see a familiar portal opening up right between the three of you. It’s Janus!

“HAAAAAA!!” you shout, firing a pair of Eye Beams into that portal without hesitation. Your attack catches the right side of the machine’s head and the top of his left pauldron, the machine immediately falling back inside its portal and shutting it. If your instincts hadn’t warned you, that robot could have caused some serious damage to one of you. Yet again, your instincts saved your life, and perhaps Meloka’s and Raven’s as well.
“What was that?” Meloka asks, looking over her shoulder at you while still swinging her blade.
“Janus.” you say, turning your focus back to the incoming missiles. Within another minute or two, the seemingly-endless stream of missiles comes to a halt.

“Wait, we shouldn’t charge in.” Meloka says, looking towards the fortress. We already got caught in one trap, we need to watch out for others.”

“Meloka’s right, we need to be careful.” you say, watching the fortress. “Who knows what other traps Nefarious set, or where that robot Janus will come from next.”
“Wait what?” Raven asks, you telling her what happened with Janus while the missile swarm. “I didn’t even sense anything.”
“He’s a crafty bastard.” you say, gathering some of your ki into a ball in your right hand. “And I don’t want him getting the jump on us again. Watch my back, I’m going to try something.”

You fire the Ki Bomb down, controlling it so it slowly descends towards the stone fortress. At first nothing happens, you all drifting closer around 20-30 feet behind your attack. As you get closer and closer you get more and more uneasy. A dozen or so yards from the fortress itself your attack explodes, slamming into something unseen. For a single moment you spot something shimmering where it hit.

“Did you see that?” Raven asks, you nodding. Again you gather your power, this time into a larger golden sphere of ki, firing down a Scattershot at the invisible barrier. As your attack slams into it over a wider area the entire shield lights up for a few moments, revealing the nature of the barrier.
“Tuffle shield.” Meloka says, you nodding to her. You’d had to deal with these often back in the war for Planet Vegeta, but back then you’d always had Nappa with you. He had one attack that was capable of hitting behind their shields, but after what you learned from Joseph Joestar, you have your own way through.

“Stand back.” you say, Meloka and Raven floating back as you clench your right fist. “I’m going through.”
“Through?” Meloka asks, confused a moment. But that confusion is wiped away the moment you materialize your Stand, [DRAGON FORCE]. Since you’re still in your Ascended Super Saiyan form your stand is massive, the giant golden dragon roaring in challenge.
“DRAGON FORCE!!” you roar, charging headlong at the barrier. Your Stand roars with you as well, you both slamming into the barrier as one. But it can’t stop you, it barely even slowed you down. You charge straight through the energy shield, your golden glow sticking to the opening you’d made in the shield as you charge into the fortress tower, smashing a hole in it as well as you observe the room you find yourself in. It appears to be some sort of armory, racks of wierd rifles, pistols, grenades, and more missile launchers organized in the room, as well as other less-identifiable items. Nefarious’s mechanical soldiers all turning as one to your sudden entrance.

”DESTROY THE SAIYAN!” one shouts, the four dozen or so soldiers raising their weapons at you and repeating the call to action.

With a final roar you deactivate your Stand, the golden dragon fading as you land on the floor inside the tower. You unsling your hammer, holding it in both hands as you roll and pop your neck.

”ATTACK!” one shouts, firing his weapon at you. You easily evade the attack, closing the distance near-instantly and slamming your hammer down. Your weapon crushes the mechanical soldier, then the shockwave blasts out. Every nearby robot is tossed from their feet, your hammer’s shockwave even smashing through the floor and sending large chunks of the floor crashing down to the floor below.
“Is that all you’ve got, Nefarious?” you taunt, hefting the hammer and setting it back on your shoulder. “You couldn’t even update your regular soldiers to make them at least a little challenging?”

As you’re shouting one of the downed robots fires a missile at you, you slamming the hammer down again. A shockwave again blasts out, knocking the missile off-course and sending it exploding into some of the other robots. You turn to the one who’d fired, rushing it and smashing your hammer down on it. You rush around the room, smashing your hammer down on Nefarious’s robotic minions. After a dozen hits the entire floor collapses, the machines, weapons, and rubble all crashing down to the floor below. You pursue them, continuing your assault with your weapon and not letting a single one escape. You smash your way through several floors, not leaving a single one of Nefarious’s robots intact. Once you’ve finished your attack you look around and up, realizing you’ve smashed your way down to the ground level.

“Is that the last of them?” Raven calls out from above you, you seeing she’s over a hundred feet up, by the hole you’d punched in the building. Before you can reply, you hear a massive boom from outside, a moment later Meloka smashing her way inside up near Raven.
“That’s all of ‘em.” Meloka says, then looks around confused a moment before seeing you down below her. “Get them all hun?”
“Yeah, I got ‘em.” you say, slinging the hammer bavk over your back. “Now we need to get deeper inside, and find Ubo.”
“I’ll handle this.” Raven says, her dark power gathering around her hands “Azarath Metrion Zynthos!”

With a gesture Raven’s darkness envelops all the rubble and scrap around you, your friend lifting it all into the air before slamming it through one of the walls and sending it all out into the snow. With the floor cleared, you suddenly see massive horizontal metal doors occupying most of the bottom floor.

“I found the way in.” she says, grabbing them with her dark power.

You watch as Raven begins bending the metal doors back, the metal groaning in protest as Ravem rolls the two doors up on themselves. As soon as she bent the doors enough you can sense Ubo’s massive ki coming from deeper within, you getting a bad feeling about this. Turning to Raven and Meloka, you don’t see any suspicious portals.

“Let’s go.” Raven says, floating down to the newly made hole and preparing to go deeper inside the fortress.It’s time to go, but an important question first.

“Behind me.” you say? holding a hand out before Raven. She looks up to you with a mix of curiosity and anger, but you step forward and flare your Ascended Super Saiyan aura up around you. “I’ll light the way, you stay behind me. We’ll protect you, right?”
“Right.” Meloka says, transforming into her Ascended form as well. “We’re getting Ubo back, but we’re not trading you for him. Understood?”
“Okay.” Raven says, the three of you forming up and walking down into the depths of the lab. Your golden Super Saiyan glow illuminates the path before you, the three of you taking your time and being cautious. As you walk down the hall you evade several traps: breakaway floors into spike pits, massive swinging blades, and even an entire wall outfitted with blasters. But you’re more than capable of handling these traps: catching the blades and pulling them free of their housings, flying over the spike pits, and destroying the firing walls. You all arrive in one piece to a massive set of double doors, noticing they’re slightly open, you seeing a noticable blue glow from beyond them.

“This is a trap.” Meloka says, you turning and looking back to her. You can’t help but agree, those doors would be a considerable defense against the normal PTO soldiers who came before.
“I have to agree.” you say. “We need to-“
“UBO!!” Raven shouts, reaching out with her power and pulling the massive doors out of their frames and tossing them behind the three of you, then dashing inside. You and Meloka are stunned for a second, quickly dashing after her as she runs into the lab. “Wait, Raven!” Meloka shouts, you hearing a zap noise coming from your right. Turning, you see Meloka holding onto Raven, the witch smoking slightly. You also see Ubo, crumpled on a pedestal and surrounded by one of the barriers you punched through. “Are you okay?”
“Oww.” Raven says groggily, shaking her head.
“You shouldn’tve touched that.” a new voice calls out from behind you, you and Meloka turning. You see another portal, Janus and an unknown warrior walking through. But you clearly recognize that weapon.
“So you’re the one who killed my men.” you say, stepping forward.
“Saiyan.” she replies, stabbing her sword into the ground and popping her neck and fingers, rolling her shoulders. She then backflips, kicking her sword into the air and catching it, resting it on her shoulder. “I’ll enjoy tearing you apart.”

After a moment of staring each other down, you decide that you’ll open this fight big. You place your hands together and create your Super Ki Blade. She smirks at this, holding her blade before her with both hands and bending her knees, lowering her stance. You pull your sword back then charge, stabbing straight for her chest. She deflects your attack to her left with her sword, you twisting clockwise around her and swinging your blade for her head. She tries to turn in time to block, but she can’t turn fast enough. It’s ove- wait what? You watch as metal springs up from her left forearm, clanking as it quickly forms into a round metal shield. Your blade slams into Bellona’s shield, knocking the metal warrior off-balance. But she recovers quickly, planting her feet and stabbing at you with her hefty blade. You flip over her attack, swinging your sword down. Again Bellona blocks it with her shield, the metal floor bending under the weight of yout attack. You backflip away from her, landing lightly on your feet with your blade between you both.

“Not bad, monkey.” the female robot says with a smirk, pointing her sword at you as her eyes begin to glow bright red. “You’re pretty good with your blade. But I’m not done yet!”

“Bring it on!” you shout with your own smile, dashing headlong at her again. You both slam your blades into each other’s, your faces mere inches from each other. You then flip, spin and twist around her, attacking Bellona from every side. Between her sword and her shield, you’re not able to break through her iron defenses. You attack her from every side, but can’t land a solid hit on her anywhere. You and this machine exchange blows, and despite you not able to land a hit on you, she’s unable to land a counter strike on you as well. You and Bellona exchange blows faster and faster, you pushing her as hard as you can. As the two of you exchange blows, the shockwaves blast out from your battle, ravaging the late doctor’s lab. With a final hit you slam your blades into each other’s, you knocking her off her feet and sending her crashing into the wall.

“You’re mine now!” you shout, dashing in to end this fight. You pull your blade back, preparing to run her through. But before you reach her she swings her blade, it changing from a sword to an odd whip-like bladed weapon. You flip over the bladed whip, leaping back as she whips it back and forth. She pulls herself from the wall, weaving her many-bladed weapon through the air.

“You’re pretty good.” she says, weaving her weapon hypnotically around her as she walks forward confidently. “But I have to kill you now.”

“So your weapon changes forms?” you ask, slowly lowering and deactivating your blade. “Impressive. But I’m ending this, now.”

As you speak you gather your ki behind your eyes, but before you can fire her bladed whip snaps towards your head. You flinch, that involuntary reaction all that saves you from losing your left eye. One of her blades slices into your eyebrow and cheek, narrowly avoiding sliving your eye open as you flip backwards and away. Bellona presses the attack, her blades coming at you from unexpected and unpredictable angles. You keep away from the blades, avoiding taking another hit as you try to concentrate on your own counterattack. For several seconds you avoid her blade, then find your opportunity to strike.

“DIE!!” you shout, firing your beams right at her weapon arm. Her eyes widen in surprise as your attack connects, blasting through the machine’s right shoulder and elbow. But you’re not done yet. You redirect your beams, piercing through Bellona’s left knee, chest, left shoulder, right knee, then aim them for her head. “You lose!”
“Watch out!!” Meloka shouts from behind you, as one of Janus’s portals appears right before your attack connects, your beams disappearing. Your own eyes widen, and in a flash of insight you hastily activate your Barrier. Unfortunately you’re not fast enough, one of your own beams piercing right through your own left knee.

“DAMMIT!!” you shout, grasping at your knee. This is new, the sensation of being pierced by your own attack rather unpleasant. But you don’t have time to think on it as Janus disappears, you looking around worriedly. What else does he have up his sleeve?
“Karn, are you okay?” Meloka asks, rushing to your side.
“I’m nrrgg, fine, you say, floating back upright. “Raven, have you freed Ubo yet?”
“I’m working on it!” she calls back, sounding worried and stressed. You can’t blame her, this has gotten way more intense than you’d thoug-
“Where are... you looking?” Bellona asks you, the machine spitting sparks from it’s damaged parts yet still somehow rising to it’s feet. Her weapon had changed again, becoming a massive two-handed hammer. “I’m. Still standing. You-You’ve not. Won yet!”

You know, with how often we fight in team battles (Especially with meloka), maybe we should try to develop our telepathy into mental synchronization of some kind. If such a thing is possible, I mean.
Being able to mentally link with someone and essentially experience the same thoughts instantly or near-instantly would be a big boon to teamwork and synchronized fighting.
Could potentially be good for other things too, like learning/teaching.

“You’re dead!” you shout, slamming your palms together. “This ends now! FINAL!! FLAAAAASH!!!”

You fire your column of unstoppable golden power towards the heavily damaged robot, it rapidly closing the distance between the two of you. As your attack closes in closer and closer, you starting to think that Janus abandoned his ally.

“THERE!” Meloka shouts, firing a Death Beam above your attack. You see that Janus has appeared, opening a portal between your attack and Bellona. Janus barely dodges Meloka’s attack, but not yours. It takes a monumental effort of will, but you manage to alter your Final Flash’s course, redirecting it up at Janus. The robot isn’t expecting your attack to come for it, and catching it completely unaware. The robot doesn’t even have time to shout, your blast consuming it near-instantly. Your Final Flash blasts through the fortress’s armored ceiling, then after a few more moments blasts through what’s left of the stone fortress as well. You end your attack, panting and catching your breath. You got it.

“UBO!!” Raven shouts, you turning and seeing the shield around your giant friend disappearing and falling forward. Raven tries to catch him, Ubo falling limply on top of your younger friend. You chuckle a bit to yourself, walking over to help her out.
“Where. Are you. Going?” Bellona asks you, dragging herself with her hammer and one leg closer. “I’m. Not. Done. Yet!”

“I will Daddy!” she replies, ending the telepathic conversation. You can only hope she’ll be okay.

“How does it feel, Saiyan? To lose everything important to you?” the Bellona robot asks tauntingly. “To sit by helplessly as what you love is taken from you, powerless to stop it?”
“That’s it!” Meloka shouts, turning blade-drawn and stalking over to the downed machine. “You’re not saying another word!”
“Wait!” you say, Meloka freezing in place with her blade mere inches from the robot’s skull.
“Huh?” Meloka asks, you shaking your head then focusing your mind and telepathically reaching out for Towa.
“Hey Towa, can you hear me?” you ask, and after a few moments you get a reply. “Can you hear me?”
“Hello Karn.” she replies. “This is a rather unexpected call, what’s going on?”
“I’ve got this robot here, one of Nefarious’s creations.” you tell her. “Could you do me a favor and crack it open, find out what it knows? Perhaps it could give us some intel on Nefarious’s other bases, and maybe make a good training partner for Maza when he grows up?”
“Hmmm, alright then.” Towa says, you almost able to see her mischievous smile. “But for me to get that robot out of there, you have to do what I say.”
“Got it.” you reply, a small smirk appearing on your face. “Thanks Towa.”
“Thank me later.” she replies. “Alright, to make this work, here’s what I need you to do...”

And with that she ends the communication, her presence disappearing from your mind.

“What was that about?” Meloka asks you, you filling her in as you both walk casually from the lab, Raven having taken Ubo through a portal while you were distracted.
“Karn, we’re done!” King Vegeta tells you telepathically as you both walk from the lab, sensing Bardock and King Vegeta’s kis headed right for you.
“Don’t worry about it, it’s over.” you tell them, then activate your scouter. “Nabanna, it’s over. Bring the ship down, we’re finished here.”
“Yes sir.” your pilot replies, your ship descending to the planet’s surface a minute or two later. You all get back onto the ship, and after a brief call with Cui of telling him what went down, you leave the now-lifeless Planet Invicta behind. You have only around a month before your ship touches down on Raxus Prime, but your mind is full of worry. You can’t help but wonder how Chaya, Chilli, and Broly are dealing with that fake you Nefarious had made. As the minutes turn to hours, you get more and more worried until you can’t take it anymore.

“Chaya, are you okay?” you think out to your oldest daughter. But you don’t immediately get a reply, your worry ratcheting up even higher. What the hell is happening over there?!

I was perfectly content being a faithful father and husband while joking about collecting a harem centered around karn's big dick like every other protagonist, but nobody ever really tried.
GD is the one who decided to have a major character that almost everyone liked rape and impregnate herself out of nowhere then confess her love to him and follow it up with a hamfisted line about her acting like a weak saiyan woman, and if she wanted the dick she should have just asked. It was hamfisted because you had to cram it into a plot and character where it didn't belong. But if we told her no, her heart gets broken, she gets proven right and we lose a character we love. That wasn't us who created that situation, it was him. If towa gets told to "fuck off forever" by meloka or a bad dice roll, it wasn't because the players decided or wanted it.

Whether you agree or not that's how i see it, and i'll never be okay or happy with how it was done. As far as i'm concerned, it's already been fucked so i might as well go along with it.
