You wake up from your deep sleep. You open your eyes to a blurry world. You rub the sleep out of your eyes as you rise from your bed, the soft rays of sunlight streaming in from the windows right into your face, much to your annoyance. As you look around the infirmary, you find that everyone else is still asleep. In front of you, you see that Ise has somehow sneaked into her little sister's bed, and is hugging the other battleship rather tightly.
You turn to your side to where your older sister is sleeping in another bed, still faced away from you. You nod to yourself. It was time for a new day, nanodesu! You didn't even get visited by the Abyssals during your sleep, nanodesu! You stretch the sleep out of your joints, before getting off your bed. You change out of your pajamas and into your usual uniform, and after making sure you are presentable, you walk out of the door, greeted by the more intense light outside. Then, you realize that,
You didn't know where to go, nanodesu!

You decide that you would start your day with a little bit of exercise. But before you could head to the beach to exercise, you had to dress up for it, nanodesu! You leave the front of the infirmary, and head back to your room.
You then realize, did you still even have a room, nanodesu?! You freeze in your tracks, no longer confident on your ability to change into more comfortable exercise clothes. You sigh at the prospect of having to run in your skirt and loafers.
As you begin to resign to your fate, you then notice your carrier friend, RJ, turn the corner, her hair usually done in twin-tails is now flowing loosely, scattered and frayed at some parts, and you see no sign of her trying to fix it. RJ then stifles a yawn before stretching her arms up into the air, like a cat. You could almost imagine cat-ears on her head, nanodesu!

You immediately put two and two together, if she was this messy, that must meant that she came from the dorms, nanodesu! You approach your carrier friend, who notices your approach. She waves lazily at you as you come closer. "Good morning, nanodesu!" You greet her with a smile. " mornin'" She grumbles under her breath. She definitely isn't a morning person, nanodesu!
You decide to get to the point, it didn't help both of you if you kept each other's time standing there. "Did you just come from the dorms, nanodesu?" RJ nods once, then twice, then finally you see her start to tip over, her eyes closed. Hawawawawa! You catch her in the nick of time, helping her stand straight before shaking her awake. RJ sleepily mutters something before her eyes slowly flutter open.
"Fu-haaa, oh, mornin' Inazumaaa" You let her go once she seemed steady enough. "Good morning, nanodesu." You greet again, understanding to the plight of RJ. You then ask her again. "Is that the way back to the dorms, nanodesu?" You point the direction to which RJ came from, and she nods. You say your thanks as you both walk towards your own destinations.

You walk in the direction that RJ had come from, and find yourself slowly going up hill. The dorms were now detached from the main bulk of the base, nanodesu! You aren't sure if it was really a good idea to detach the main fighting force from the bulk of the base, nanodesu! You finally reach the dorm proper, and see the familliar shipping containers there are now 6 of the things, stacked by threes, arranged into a L flipped to its right side.
In the center is a wooden staircase, allowing access to the rooms higher up. One shipping container is detached from the others. Probably another meeting room, nanodesu! You stand idly for awhile. You may be here in the dorms right now, but you don't know where your and Miyuki's room was, nanodesu! You panic internally, but you then hear someone call out to you. "Inazuma?" You turn around and see your BEST FRIEND, Miyuki standing a few meters in front of you. She's wearing a track jacket, with her usual uniform underneath. She's also carrying a bag on her shoulder, nanodesu!
Hawawawa, you were saved, nanodesu! You celebrate internally before exchanging good mornings with Miyuki. "Good morning, nanodesu!" You beam her your best smile. "Good morning!" She grins back. After your greetings, you then ask her, "Where's our room, nanodesu?" Miyuki points to the shipping container on the first floor. You nod, and then start walking away. Miyuki stops you with a hand on your shoulder. Hawawawawa! Fast, nanodesu! "Can I ask why you're heading to the room this early in the morning?" You then explain to her, "I'm going to change, nanodesu! Then I'm going to exercise by the beach, nanodesu!"
Miyuki nods. Her brows furrow in thought, she then nods again. "Okay, then I'm going to go with you as well!" Hawawawawa! Both of you then go into your dorm room, and you start to change, not before you scold Miyuki about how she's not allowed to peek at all cost, nanodesu!

Miyuki was still wearing what she wore before, minus the bag, but you had changed into a red track jacket, a comfortable shirt, and bloomers, which are the optimal clothes for exercising, nanodesu! "Why are you wearing panties, Inazuma?" You decide to ignore Miyuki's comments about the greatness that is bloomers, nanodesu! "Nevermind. Wanna race to the beach? Ready, set, go!" Miyuki then Hawawawawawawa! You weren't ready at all, nanodesu!
How do you catch up to Miyuki, nanodesu?!

Inazuma is FAST!

Something in your mind clicks as you see Miyuki slowly gaining distance from you. Something burns inside you, a fierce competitive spirits suddenly burns bright inside you. You feel your boilers hum, but you know that they and their crew contingent are empty. Somewhere in the corner of your mind, you can see a scantily clad blonde ship girl raise a thumb of ultimate approval, nodding sagely at your choice, before disappearing back into the mist of your unconscious. You crouch down then bend your body forward, placing as much energy as you can into your legs. You look up to Miyuki who is a quarter of the way there.

You smirk to yourself. Her lead will not last. Somewhere, probably in your own head, you hear the loud audible bang of a gun firing a blank into the air. You release the tension in your legs, and you feel the air around you rip apart from some cosmic force. You feel a loud boom resound behind you, it's more the work of your over-active imagination, nanodesu, but you digress. You pick up speed, faster and faster, until your surroundings turn into a blur. Your eyes are strained on one thing, Miyuki's back, the distance between you and her getting closer second by second. You pass by many of the shipgirls as you run, their faces clear from the blur of your SPEED.
You pass Kitakami and Ooi, the former looks like death, probably in the same camp as RJ, the latter the same, except her eyes are more suspicious of everything around her. Your passing brings forth a torrent of wind, and the black-haired light cruiser's skirt flies up, much to the amazement of the other brown-haired light cruiser, who immediately kneels down in reverence, she receives a chop on the head for her actions. You also speed by Imuya, who you see is carrying a net filled with rustling spiny things, still dripping wet from sea water. Sea urchins, nanodesu!

As you are distracted by the sights you pass by, you didn't notice that you and Miyuki are now half-way to the beach, you are now neck to neck. Miyuki doesn't turn her head to look at you, but you're sure that she has noticed your presence. She starts to pick up speed, probably confident that you wouldn't be able to keep up your initial speed. But you persevere, nanodesu! You summon all the strength that your albeit, little body can muster down into your legs. Your whole body feels hot, as your nerves scream in cold anger. But you MUST NOT LOSE, NANODESU! Finally, a quarter before you reach the beach, you manage to gain a small amount of distance in front of Miyuki, insignificant on the grander scale, but it was enough for you, nanodesu!

You feel exhilarated as the sand grows closer each second, and a now lightly panting Miyuki is slowly being left behind you, her own initial speed now slowing down due to fatigue. But you do not feel the same fatigue that she has! You feel fine, nanodesu! You feel the SPEED! But, in your exhilaration, you fail to notice one crucial thing.

Smugzuma was playing on the sand, stick in hand as she draws a caricature that was VERY familiar.

It was your own face, nanodesu!

You then also realize that from your trajectory, you were set on a collision course with your front heavy doppelganger. You suddenly realize the folly of your speed, yes your legs may be carrying you as fast as they could, but you had no idea how to coordinate your body to stop or turn, maybe you could turn or try and suddenly halt your movement, but who knows what would happen, nanodesu! You hope that you don't get sent to the infirmary again, nanodesu! A being from a higher plane would be embarassed when other beings from the same plane would call it Collapse! Quest! Hawawawawa, you didn't know where that train of thought came from, nanodesu!

As you were thinking, you didn't realize that the distance between you and Smugzuma was growing closer and closer. She then finally looks up from the sand, and sees you careening towards her, observing you with the same emotionless eyes that she always has. She makes no effort to move out of the way, but you see the sides of her mouth twist into a smug grin. Hawawawawawa! You feel a nerve in your forehead twitch, but the moment of collision was getting closer now.

What do you do, nanodesu?!

Something in your head clicks. A hundred screaming voices erupt from inside you, telling you one thing.

It was time to ram, nanodesu.

Your push your body to the limit, your nerves scream as you push yourself even further than before. As you rush towards her, Smugzuma crosses her arms over her chest, still crouching down. She exhudes an aura of confident smugness, sure that you won't be able to tackle her down.
You will prove her wrong, nanodesu! You push yourself even further, to reach SPEED which you the world has yet to witness, but your body has enough, it has already reached its top speed. You are slightly disappointed by your inability to reach the SPEED, but you are still proud of the fact that here, right now, you are the fastest.

Only a few meters until impact, and Smugzuma is still crouching down, but as you get closer and closer, you see her shiver and turn to look behind her. There is nothing there, but you feel as if some eldritch intervention is happening behind the scenes, disallowing Smugzuma from escaping her fight. Your doppelganger faces you again, her usually emotionless eyes are now wide-eyed, and you doubt your eyes but, you seem to see a little spark of fear in them.
Smugzuma panics, and finally begins rising from her position, but she is far too late. YOU WILL HAVE HER, NANODESU! Sand blows up into a huge cloud behind you as you step on the beach, possibly blinding Miyuki who is lagging behind. Smugzuma stumbles as she tries to stand up, causing her to kneel back into the sand, held down by some unknown force. You thank the powers that be, and begin your RETRIBUTION!

Your eyes lock on to one area of her body in particular, her GIGADESUS hanging limply from her chest. You feel an intense ANGER to seeing them sway like that. Inside your mind you see an image of RJ giving you a thumbs up, supporting your course of action. Smugzuma looks on idly as you continue speeding toward her, her eyes seemingly emptier than usual. You see her sigh in resignation, before looking up to the sky, her mouth twisted into a self-depreciating smile.
Finally, Impact.

The force of your RAM is legendary, You manage to stop your momentum by digging your feet into the sand, stopping once you've knelt down, meanwhile Smugzuma is thrown away into deep water, skidding on the surface like a rock before she suddenly stops. Hawawawawa! Was she trying to be a submarine, nanodesu?! Without her armaments, Smugzuma sinks like a rock, sinking into the deep blue of the sea, as she sinks she somehow manages to stick one her arms out of the water, she gives you a thumbs up, before she fully disappears into the abyss. Hawawawawa! Did you just murder someone, nanodesu?!

Miyuki reaches you as you panic on the beach. You are down on your knees, mourning the loss of your front heavy friend. But then you hear Miyuki mutter something beside you. "I'm pretty sure where she landed isn't deep at all... Probably three feet at the most?" You feel a nerve twitch in your forehead. You rise up from the sands and wade into the water, making your bloomers wet. You probably needed to dry them before you could exercise with Miyuki, nanodesu!

You reach the location where you saw Smugzuma sink, it was just up to your waist, nanodesu! You grumble as you stick your hand into the water, grabbing a fistful of Smugzuma head, before forcefully pulling her out of the water. "Ow, ow, Inazuma-san, please be gentle, it's my first time." You hear her in mock embarrassment as you drag her out of the water. You sigh, before you drag your now silent doppelganger back to the beach, to a waiting Miyuki.

When you reach the beach, Miyuki tells you both to kneel. You open your mouth to protest, but you see her smile coldy, so both you and Smugzuma scramble to kneel beside each other, both of your heads hanging down in preparation for a scolding. Both of you await a scolding, but only silence reigns over the three of you, the steady beating of waves slowly lulling you into sleep. But you quickly wake yourself when you hear Miyuki sigh. "I know it's kinda my fault for inviting you to race, but jeez, that was dangerous you know?" She sends a chop onto both of your forehead. You reply with a yelp while Smugzuma mutters an emotionless "ow". "Get yourselves dry first, and we can start having proper exercise." You nod, before standing up, you offer your hand to Smugzuma, and she takes it, you assist her with standing up, and you both go your seperate ways.

A few minutes of drying and changing later, you begin to exercise with Miyuki, properly this time, with warm-ups and all that. As you exercise, many of your friends stop by. Kitakami and Ooi are the first ones to appear, Ooi bows to you in reverence, but a punch to the back of her head by Kitakami sends her down. Hawawawawa, scary, nanodesu! Imuya also passes by you and Miyuki, she herself is jogging from the direction of the docks, carrying a net with an octopus inside, she still dripping with water, nanodesu! You wave to Imuya who waves back at you, and you continue your exercise with Miyuki. You've learned to pace yourself better, nanodesu!

When you and Miyuki are cooling down after your exercise, you are greeted by the sight of RJ walking with Hibiki. The former seems better than how you saw her before, and is now carrying a basket in her hands, meanwhile the latter is walking slightly behind her, hugging a stack of coconuts, carrying it to the best of her ability. Hawawawawa, how cute, nanodesu! "Resupply has arrived, ya'll!" RJ shouts as she waves a hand energetically. Hibiki continues struggling behind her, swaying side to side as she tries to maintain the balance of the stack.

When they finally reach you, you see your older sister almost immediately lets go of the stack of coconuts, sending them rolling in different directions. You and Miyuki don't say anything, silently thanking her for her work. "Hey! What're yah doing! Geez!" She places the basket down as she chases a loose coconut, all of you follow her with your gaze, but she continues chasing after it. "Help your selves to the sandwiches inside!" She shouts as she chases after a roller, good luck, nanodesu! You turn to your older sister, who greets you. "Good morning, Inazuma." You bow. "Good morning, Hibik-nee, nanodesu!" You then realize she shouldn't be out until tomorrow. "Are you sure you should be out of the infirmary, nanodesu?" Hibiki nods.
"The nurse fairy told me to get some fresh air." Just like you, nanodesu!

You all then get to work, munching on the sandwiches as you find seats on anything that isn't covered by sand. A heavily panting RJ comes back a few minutes later as you are all a quarter through the basket. She wipes the sweat from her brow with her hand, before holding up the coconut. "Gatcha!" You all clap to her achievement. She sits beside Hibiki, who hands her a sandwich. RJ claps her hands together, before ravishing the sandwich in her hands. You enjoy the meal peacefully, washing down with fresh coconut juice courtesy of Miyuki and RJ's coconut opening skills.

You all have your fill, and you all go your separate ways from there. But before you do, Miyuki then brings up that she'll call everyone for a general meeting in the container by the dorms. You all nod as you go to your destinations. RJ is escorting Hibiki to the baths to cool off, while Miyuki heads back to the dorms to change, and will probably run around to inform the other girls. You are alone again, with no destination in mind. You think for a moment, deciding where to go.

Where DO you go, nanodesu?

After thinking it over, you decide that it was the best course of action to go and take a dip in the baths to cool off, nanodesu! You chase after RJ and Hibiki, catching up with them a few moments later. RJ was in the middle of bragging to Hibiki about how her air crew were the best around, with your older sister just nodding to her words. RJ notices you running up to them and greets you with a grin, your older sister also acknowledges your presence with a bow. RJ then continues to talk about her air crew. You and Hibiki listen to her talk until you all reach the baths.
Apparently the baths wasn't damaged at all, nanodesu! Probably owing to the fact that it was removed from the main bulk of the base, nanodesu! You all enter the bath house, on the left side as always. You all undress without any shenanigans happening, except for RJ glancing at your and Hibiki's chests, before placing a hand on her on, breathing a sigh of relief. Hawawawawawa!

The bath is empty, letting you three have the baths to yourselves. You all get to rinsing yourselves before dipping into any one of the baths. It all goes smoothly, and you all go into the open-air baths. You breathe a satisfied sigh as you allow yourself to soak up to your shoulders, the warm water of the baths massaging your tired muscles. You look around to see whatever your two other companions are doing. RJ is currently floating on her back, humming an unfamilliar song, while Hibiki is sitting beside you, staring out into the horizon you could see over the fence. She sighs, then she notices your gaze, she turns to face you. You smile.
She then turns her gaze back to the horizon, she then mutters under her breath, faint enough that if you didn't strain your eyes you wouldn't be able to hear her. "I wonder how our other sisters are doing..." You nod to her words, content with listening to her words. "I want to find them soon. Even if... Everything is confusing right now. I- I'm pretty sure Ninazuma isn't our sister. But something inside my head is telling me that she is." Hibiki turns to face you again. I'm scared, Inazuma. What should I do? I'm confused. All I know is that I need to fight the Abyssals, that I need to protect my sisters, that I need to-" You cut her words by placing a hand on the back of her neck, and pulling her in, resting her head on your chest.

You rub her back as you whisper into her ear. "Don't worry Hibiki-nee, We'll find our sisters soon, and we'll find the answers to your questions soon. But right now, all we know is that we have to protect what's right in front of us right now, nanodesu." You feel your older sister nod. You let her rest her head on your chest for awhile, allowing her to relax. A few minutes later, probably ten to fifteen minutes, you hear a splash in RJ's direction. You feel your older sister twitch at the sound, before pulling away from your grip. You giggle a little, before turning to your light carrier friend, who stretches her hand and lets out a satisfied snort. "Ah! That was fine an' dandy!" RJ turns her gaze to you, and Hibiki, who is looking away from both of you, her cheeks dyed with a light red hue.

"Did anythin' happen when I was nappin'?" You shake your head, before smiling. "No, nanodesu." RJ looks at you with an expression of doubt, but you continue beaming her with your smile. RJ sighs, before proceeding out of the bath. "Well then, 'm going first yah hear? Give me a holler if ya'll done." You nod, as you follow RJ with your eyes as you see her walk beyond the sliding room into the dressing room. You turn to your older sister, who mutters. "D-Did she see?" You shake your head. "I'm pretty sure she didn't nanodesu, and why would you be embarrassed about that, nanodesu? We're sisters, nanodesu!" Hibiki nods. "I know, but it's still pretty embarrassing!" You chuckle, before standing up, the wave from you suddenly standing up hits your older sister causing her to yelp. "Let's go, nanodesu!" You reach your hand out towards her, and she takes it. You both go out of the bath tub, and walk hand-in-hand to the dressing room where RJ is waiting.

After your bath, you find yourselves sitting in the container in the dorms, sitting together on a wooden bench, one of many stuffed inside the shipping container. Miyuki stands in front, facing the crowd of ship girls, a black board behind her pinned with various hand-drawn maps of the island, and the around the island. There are many blank spots on tha maps, filed in circles with a question mark inside each of them. From what you can see where you're sitting, you also read a few circles with words inside them, such as "trash heap?, Abyssal convoy?, Strange Island, Abyssal Patrol?"

You turn your attention away from the black board and look around you, and see everyone was present. To your left sat Hibiki, who focusing on the black board as you were, while to your right sat RJ, who was begginning to doze off. You turn your attention to the back, and see Ise and Hyuuga stuffed uncomfortably in the back, their burly forms frankly being a tight squeeze. Both of them notice your gaze, and both of them reply in various ways. Ise grins and raises her fingers formed into a V over her eyes, with her tongue sticking out. Meawhile, Hyuuga nods sagely, before mouthing something. You read her lips as she mouths, "Z U I U N."

You sigh, before turning your attention to the ones directly in front of you, Kitakami and Ooi. The two light cruisers seemed to be lounging instead of listening, nanodesu! Kitakami was lying down, her head on Ooi's lap, and while you couldn't see the other's face from here, you're pretty sure she has an ecstatic expression on her face. Meanwhile, in front of the two light cruisers, you can see Smugzuma and Imuya, sitting beside each other. Smugzuma is sitting stock still, barely even moving, meanwhile, Imuya was swinging her body and legs back and forth, visibly bored.

You then hear Miyuki cough, and all attention goes back to her, she then begins tapping on the blackboard with a stick. "As I was saying, I don't want another raid to happen, and in order to avoid that, we need to gather more information about her surroundings! So we'll have to split into three forces! The first force will be going island hopping, and mapping the seas around us! The second force will explore this island itself, as from its size we haven't explored it fully yet, and the third and final force will be left behind to defend the base!" She then points to RJ, Imuya, Ise, and Hyuuga. "These four will be part of the the third force. Meanwhile the first two forces are up to the remaining girls. Any questions?" Everyone shakes their heads. "Fine then, I'll give you a few minutes to choose where you want to go." She crosses her arms over her chest, while everyone else gets to thinking.

A few silent minutes pass. You see others around you nod as they come to their own decisions. You come to your own decision, nanodesu! You decide that going around on land would be best, nanodesu! "Oh yeah, before I forget." Miyuki starts to speak, she then points to Ise and Hyuuga. "Everyone, meet Ise and Hyuuga." Ise stands up, saluting. "Heyah! I'm battleship Ise, and" Hyuuga stands up, as if they rehearsed things beforehand. Hyuuga bows sharply before Ise continues, "This is my little sister Hyuuga! We're pretty good when it comes to firepower, but we specialize in one thing." You see Hyuuga's expression light up. "ZUIUN!" She shouts with such a gusto, that it rocks the whole shipping container. Both sit back down, as if nothing happened, nanodesu! "Now that's done." Everyone's attention returns to Miyuki. "I guess we're going to see what everyone chose, then. Volunteers for first force?" You see Kitakami, still being serviced with a lap-pillow by Ooi, raise her hand, Ooi follows immediately after, when a cough from Miyuki interrupts her from her day dream. Miyuki also raises her hand. Miyuki then nods, listing their names on the black board with a limestone.

"Well then, I'm pretty sure that I don't have to ask, seeing as there's only three more people left, but, Second force?" You and Hibiki raise your hand almost immediately, then finally, Smugzuma raises her hand slowly. Miyuki nods, before turning back to the black board to write your names. "Well then, now that's all done, everyone, meet up with your fellows. I'm leaving base command to RJ for the time being! Good luck, everyone!" Miyuki is the first one out, followed by a sleepy Kitakami and a bummed-out Ooi. They are then followed by Imuya, RJ then finally Ise and Hyuuga, who use the back door to prevent them having to squeeze through you to get out. This leaves you, Hibiki and Smugzuma, who is looking over her shoulder towards you. Then, you realize something.

You panic internally at the prospect of your older sister and doppelganger working together, you didn't even know if they've fixed their misunderstandings yet, nanodesu! As you panic internally, you hear your older sister stand up beside you, she then walks torwards Smugzuma with a steady, strong gait. Hawawawawa! Were they going to fight, nanodesu?! As you continue your eternal internal panic, you see Hibiki stand in front of Smugzuma, who has now turned her attention to your older sister, and see her offer Smugzuma her hand. Smugzuma stares at the hand, then looks up at your older sister's face. Hibiki nods, before speaking up. "Here's to working together, Ninazuma." Smugzuma takes Hibiki's hand and shakes it once, before letting go. Hawawawawa! What just happened, nanodesu?! As you sit there, your brain starts to overheat from the confusion, you realize that the two are now looking at you, waiting for you to stand up and move. Hawawawawa! You immediately bolt up from the bench you were sitting on, and immediately run towards the two, but before you reach them, your foot catches one of the other benches, sending you careening towards both of them. Hawawawawawawawawawa! You close your eyes to brace yourself for impact, but you feel two pairs of hands catch you in mid-air.

Slowly, you flutter your eyes open and see that Smugzuma and Hibiki have somehow caught you as you feel, the former immediately lets you go, while the latter rights you up with a sigh. Hawawawawa! How embarrassing, nanodesu! "Let's go then." Hibiki says as begins to walk out of the room, you follow, but before she follows you, Smugzuma slowly peels off the map of the island on the blackboard. After making sure that you and your group haven't forgotten anything else, she leaves the room along with you.

You all are now gathered in front of the dorms, with a multitude of fairies huddled around each force. You too have about a quarter of your own crews on standby, as you, Hibiki and Smugzuma discuss about your course of action before you depart. Hibiki is the first to give her suggestion. "We should re-evaluate the land around the base, start small. See if we missed anything important like fresh water sources and the like." You nod, she did make sense, nanodesu! You then hear Smugzuma pipe up in the same monotone voice that she has. "I think it would be better to instead scout out the land beyond the immediate area of our base, and gather more information in a spread-out area... Nanodesutte." You nod, her answer also made sense, nanodesu. Wait, nanodesutte?! Was she trying to copy you, nanodesu?! You fume about Smugzuma's blatant imitation of your nanodesu for a bit, nanodesu. But then you notice that the two are now waiting on you for your input on where you should start to explore. You see that the two other task forces are now gone, leaving only your own. Hawawawawawawawa! You ponder for a moment, before coming to a decision.

You think for a moment, weighing the choices the other two gave you. First was your older sister's decision. Sure, it was good if you searched the area immediately near your base, this would allow you further access to nearby resources that were missed, but unless the fairies weren't that thourough with their searching, it would only probably give you more security of your surroundings. Then you turn your attention to Smugzuma's choice, most of the island's interior was unexplored, judging from the map, and who knows what you would find inside, and besides it would better if you could fill out more about the area beyond your base, seeing if there were other resources to be found, who knows, you might see something exciting, nanodesu! Then finally, you think about your own choice, sure, most of the shoreline is already mapped, but there are some missing parts, nanodesu!
You juggle the options inside your head for awhile, before you come to a decision. You would go Smugzuma's choice, seeing that it would cover larger ground than your or Hibiki's choice, sure you would probably cover more ground if you follow the sure line, but it would take a lot more time to cover the whole island, nanodesu! Meanwhile, extra security is also good, but it would really be bad if somehow, the Abyssals attacked you from behind the base by going on land, nanodesu! Granted, you don't know if Abyssals can go on land, but they can appear out of books and that's enough to make you worried, nanodesu!

You nod to yourself once you make your decision. You decide to go with Smugzuma's, nanodesu! You put in your vote, explaining to them both about how it was important to cover a wider area, nanodesu! They both nod. You then call the attention of each of your crews, who salute you. Your vice-head of command was absent, leaving you with the head of command, who was waiting on your orders. You explain to them what you and the other three had decided on, she nods. You then hear Smugzuma call for your attention, from atop the shoulders of the fairy that she is sitting on, the map of the island currently unfolded in front of her by another fairy. "Since we're going in-land, it would probably be best to aim for a location with higher elevation." You see her run her fingers across the map, her eyes scanning for anything noteworthy. She cups her chin with her hand, a few silent moments pass, before she nods to herself. "There's a hill that's quite close to the base. And from the looks of it, there's a rather large clearing at it's foot. Okay, we'll go here then." You and Hibiki nod. "Lead the way, nanodesu!" Now it was Smugzuma's turn to nod, as she directs the fairy where to go, by pointing in the direction of the hill, which you could see from here, nanodesu!

"But" You hear Hibiki pipe up. "It would better if we changed into more appopriate gear, I don't think skirts and loafers are good for trekking into the jungle." Hawawawawa! You just realized that, nanodesu! Smugzuma nods, and tells you that you would convene a few minutes later, after you change into more appropriate gear.

Then you realize that you had no such gear, nanodesu! You panic internally, before you feel your head of command grab you by the collar of your sailor uniform. You hang limply as she takes you inside your dorm room, where inside you can see that there's jungle appopriate gear waiting for you. Your head of command undresses and redresses you in high speed, a few seconds later, you are now in a red jumpsuit, with your feet firmly inside thick boots. Hawawawawa! She then picks you up again, and places you back on the ground when you get outside. You now have to wait for the others while they do their own preparations. The first one to come out of the dorm rooms is Hibiki, who is wearing the same jumpsuit as you are, but hers is blue. Then finally, Smugzuma is the last one to come out, sporting a maroon jumpsuit, the area around her chest are tight, struggling to contain her GIGADESUS. You hear her mutter under her breath. "I think this is a size smaller... Maybe I did grow a bit?" You pretend that you didn't hear that statement, nanodesu. You also realize that, somehow, the fairies also got into matching outfits with their ships, even your head of command, nanodesu! When did she change, nanodesu?! Smugzuma then looks over everyone, and when sees that everyone is ready to go, she hops onto the shoulder of a fairy, before directing it where to go.

One by one, you start to walk into the dense jungle, surrounded by each of your crews, who are carrying various tools, such as various lengths of blade, nets, sacks. Some are even carrying weapons, nanodesu! Most of them are carrying spears, but one of the fairies is carrying a bow! How cool, nanodesu! Before you walk into the forest, you are stopped by your head of command, who from what you can understand, is telling you that you could ride her shoulder. You decline her offer by shaking your head, before walking into the jungle, your crew behind you.
You all walk single file in the dense undergrowth, Smugzuma's group is in front of you, meanwhile Hibiki's is behind you. The jungle is dark, nanodesu, with the thick canopy of trees not allowing for most of the sunlight above to reach the floor. But your march through the undergrowth is calm, save for the occasional mosquitoes that pass by your ear, and the sounds coming from various animals hiding inside.

An hour or so later, you hear the tell tale roar of water in front of you. You were probably near a river, nanodesu! Soon, the undergrowth thins, letting you see a wonderful sight. A water fall, nanodesu! After you take in the mesmerizing sight, you take stock of your surroundings. It was still as dark as it was before, the water may have cleared the undergrowth, but the thick canopy of trees was ever present, but the canopy thins near the waterfall, making it glitter with reflected sunlight, further increasing its beauty, nanodesu!. In front of you was a large pool of water, with a thin waterfall feeding into it. You see Smugzuma scribble something on the map, probably the location of the waterfall, nanodesu!

You then hear her tell everyone that you all should get going, and if anyone needed to refill their canteens, they were free to do so at their own risk. Hawawawawa! You wanted to play around near the waterfall for a bit longer. You start to pout, puffing up your cheeks. You then feel your head of command poke your cheeks, deflating them. You look at her, still fuming. But all she does is smile until you calm yourself down. You sigh, before nodding in defeat. You finally get going with the others, but before you walk too far, your head of command picks you up and places you on the shoulder of one of the other fairies present, before taking your place in front. You complain that you aren't tired, but the fairy that you're sitting on doesn't let you get off. You sigh again in the face of the fairy's superior strength.
The gentle rocking then slowly lulls you to sleep. You wake up when you feel the fairy stop. You open your eyes to the bright rays of the sun.

Hawawawa! It seems that you've reached the clearing, nanodesu! You rub the sleep out of your eyes as you take stock of your surroundings. You see that the fairies are busy making temporary camp, gathering firewood, preparing benches and cooking food. Meanwhile, Smugzuma and Hibiki are huddled in front of the map of the island, Smugzuma making corrections as Hibiki talks, her hand cupping her chin as she does so. You try to immediately get off the shoulder of the fairy you were on, but once you land on the frankly unstable ground below. You almost fall over, but the fairy you were just on catches you by the waist, and sets you back down on even land. You bow as thanks, before running to your older sister and doppelganger. They acknowledge your presence with a nod from each of them before they continue on whatever they're doing. Hibiki points on a spot of the map. "I think the bananas were around here." Smugzuma nods, before immediately drawing on the map with a pen, drawing a caricature of a monkey eating a banana. Something about the way she draws was familiar, but you just don't know why it was familiar. Next, Hibiki then points on another spot. "That grove of mango trees was around here, I think." Smugzuma shakes her head, and points on another nearby spot. "No, I'm pretty sure it was here, right after the fork in the river filled with crocodiles." Crocodiles, nanodesu?! "Now that I think about it, you're right. Though, fighting them was rough. Somehow, I'm craving for crocodile stew right now." Hawawawawa! Fighting, nanodesu?! What happened when you were asleep?!

Smugzuma then glances over to you and speaks. "Nothing happened, although, if you wanted to help, there's three things you can do right now." You nod, while Smugzuma returns her gaze back to the map, making more drawings on it. "You can help with the cooking, or you can look around this large clearing, or you can scout ahead up the hill, be back before lunch though." You nod, before getting to thinking.
