Rules Clarification

1. Population isn't very important in the grand scheme, however if you want to keep track of your own pop, whichever way you feel comfortable doing is fine.
2. For the most part, OP will decide the outcomes of actions, although will allow dice rolls on some things; it's a case by case basis.
3. OP will introduce random events every now and then, though players may roleplay their own if they wish. There will be civ-specific and global events over the course of the game.
4. Wait until at least 5 people have posted their actions before you post any more, but feel free to post as many roleplay only & lore posts as you like.
5. This is a slow game, there will probably be only 1 or 2 updates per day.
6. Cheating wise, rushing techs or magic, metagaming, unsportsmanlike behaviour. OP may inflict a nasty random event on your civ up to straight up removing you from the game.
7. For the most part, just go with the flow, and please don't talk back to OP (he's fragile).

THE War;

Tarnic ships, having unknowingly sailed through the Sea of the Octopi, were met by sudden floodings in various ships hulls. The fleet was attacked unbeknownst to them; Every ship was in some way damaged, others completely sank before they knew what was going on, luckily most were able to escape without too great a ;loss of life. The fleet is forced to turn back, thankfully more than half the ships were able to return safely, though needing heavy repairs.

On the land, the Uski and Centaur fight bitterly, centaur pushed back from the plains where the initial blood was spilled, both sides suffering heavily. Not used to extended conflict, the horsefolk were unable to keep up the fight and returned to more familiar grounds to rest. For now, they are content with the outcome.
The Uski are able erect defences in hopes the beasts do not return to this senseless war.

"Awoo are half humans, just like the Ver. That should be obvious to any non-brain dead person." The Taiida representative mutters offhandedly.

The Uski would demonstrate it's magics, and a Belden would stare in wide eyed horror. "Witch! Burn it! Get the Varken in here!" The others look among eachother, and a Varken engineer Guardswoman runs into the room, Flame Sprayer in hand, but is shooed away by the rest of the FHS representatives. They seem interested, but aren't convinced. "A few magic tricks won't help solve the issues with commencing war across the world. We are already familiar with magics. The Free Human State remains in it's decision. We will not send men, but supplies are able to be offered. That is final."

The Varken scientists in the Apothecaries College have finally created a weapon that utilizes the black powder, well, 2. One of these is a large iron tube that is plugged from the back by a sort of cork, and loaded from the rear with a round stone or in some cases an Iron ball, and followed by powder. The back is then plugged, and a lit match-rope is placed at a hole above the powder, which ignites and propels the projectile at incredible speeds. It is called a Cannon. The other is a similar thing, with a sort of half-tube loaded by the muzzle. It functions similar to the cannon, as it is fired by exposing a hole above powder to a lit match. They are named Hand-Cannons.

Varken engineers have finally been sent to the site of the Truce city, and immediately begin work on improving foundations. The controlled use of Flame Sprayers as defoliants only causing minor forest fires that are dealt with quickly.
Actions:
1. Cannons and Handgonnes. It's time to change warfare on this godsforsaken planet forever.

Action 1: The explosive properties of the paste, as volatile as it is, is also a great source of interest to the more suicidal shipbuilders. Using a half open urn of paste, experiments are done as to the controlled detonation of the paste. In one such experiment, the explosion blows the lid of the container off, straight into the wall of the guild.
Interesting, very interesting.
>Fire Ballista Part 1

Action 2: The severe damage to many of the ships is troublesome. The marks appear to be from a sea creature of some sort, given the sucker impressions surrounding the holes in the boat. Perhaps the octopuses know something about this. A diplomat is ordered to head for octopus seas to attempt to establish communications. Meanwhile, the earlier advances in shipbuilding are continued upon. In particular, the extra buoyancy of paste-boats is leveraged to equip warships with iron plates seamlessly affixed over the wood.

Current political factions in the Daiimad

The Human betterment league: Members; Clans Varke, Tula, Gresh, Natla, Olok, etc…
The HBL stands for scientific and societal improvement inside the FHS, and only the FHS. Most are loath to share the secrets they create with other societies, especially those that are populated by Grittidim. In spite of this, they are rather progressive in their motives, pushing for wider equality in the FHS, whether that be to support their own agendas or out of genuine care for others.

Homonis Dominatae: Members; Clans Selvan, Vay, Else, Reth, Oblas, etc…
Homonis Dominatae is a militarist human supremacist political bloc inside the Daiimad, though such attitudes vary widely. Some members, such as Clan Vay believe that Humanity should always be ready militarily for a fight, while others like Clan Selvan believe that non-humans should be wiped out to ensure the future of the Human and half-human races. All believe in a stronger military presence in almost all things.

Sajak’s Truth: Members; Clan Belde, Norte, Hert, Ishna, Preth, etc…
Sajak’s Truth is a bloc made up of the more spiritual clans inside the FHS. All hold the Sajak-Khar in high regard, and while not blindly loyal or trusting, they do always take the priest’s word in mind when making decisions.

The Daiimad loyalists: Members; Clan Taiida, Caldath, Notra, Drev, Teleth, Sadar, etc…
Daiimad loyalists are, despite their name, the most moderate political faction in the FHS. The wish for the Daiimad to remain as it is, and to not grant any sort of political bias towards any particular faction.

An Awoo stood attentive as it jogged alongside her tribe, her band. A band so large that it made the earth shake and dust come up behind them as the mountains were so close, as only a river was left to cross.

Along roads and rivers, Kan'nefa in both senses of the word had traveled far and congregated into a traveling horde of around 40 thousand Awoos and a similar amount of mounts. Many of them were small children carried on their parents or a mounts back. Others were teenagers strong enough to fight and think enough to be useful and yet others had just reached adulthood and had their chests puffed out to defend and ward off anything that may attack the vulnerable males and babys nestled in the center of the formation.

Food preserved by salt, massive weapons wielded and extra sharp from coral. Small pots and other various food carrying goods, materials for new tents and other things nesscary for them to set up their new home.

Moji held her children tight, held the future of truly smart Awoos on her back and in her hands as they moved, rushed for Uski land.

To settle somewhere defensible, somewhere with more food and somewhere, where they will have support agasint any that try to attack them.

This was a suicide mission to attack this Awoo horde, they would not rout with their increased unity, compassion for each other and overall how much there was to lose. Even the dumbest Awoo was alert, ready.

Ears held high, the being known as Father would have a truly difficult time if he wished to stop them, but perhaps him actually winning was irrelevant, the Awoos mounts could have fascinating dna, some of their supplys could be rather interesting to study and merely seeing the limited intelligence of these creatures being lesser of a problem due to their unity could have applications he could learn from!

Their was much to learn from the Awoo.

The walls of the shipbuilders guild weren’t the finest in the city, built generations before it had achieved the modicum of prosperity that it enjoyed as of late. Still, they had served faithfully for many years, and showed all signs of continuing to stand for decades more. All this, then, is why their sudden and catastrophic collapse came as quite the surprise, especially to those living just downhill. Out of the wreckage tumbled an array of odd and outlandish objects—a number of bronze urns of all shapes and sizes, a stick of wood that busily began growing into a tree in the middle of the communal latrines, and, most curiously, a man covered in gray, hanging on an odd sort of pipe and screaming “Eureka!” He was shortly carted off to the nearest sanitarium, and hadn’t been since.
>Paste-cannons Part 2

In the mountain town of Estcester, growing rapidly as a stopping point for military and trade ships, the locals are increasingly spooked by the odd happenings to the south. The storm clouds that naturally form the borders of the ocean are becoming more restless, venturing inwards for days at a time before retreating once more. Flashes of lightning illuminate the silhouettes of giants, a foul aroma rides the southern winds. The People of Tarn build thick walls of stone and plan for the evacuation of women and children into the cave systems behind the settlement. Emergency food and water supplies are stockpiled by the city council and local temples, and a request is submitted to the capital for an extra garrison of troops and ships. Perhaps the most extreme measure of all was the ballista being built on the southern rampart. Its frame required nearly all the bronze in the town and half of the mountain goats in the area were butchered to provide enough sinew for its string and joints. The bow was 5 times the size of those mounted on the great warships anchored before it, ten armspans across in full. Carved into every square inch were depictions of the constellations from every perspective imaginable, in hopes that they would guide the bolts like ships in the night. She could throw a man-weight bolt a full five leagues and still put it clean through an ironclad.
They named her Astrarca.
She was born to kill a titan.

A small fleet of the new ironclads is dispatched to the Uskijorans. Unlike the boats that had passed before them, these ships were bolstered by paste and by iron plates and making double haste through the dangerous waters. They stayed far from the coast, but just in case, 24hr watches are set up, soldiers with long antiboarding spears standing ready to repel any intrusion. Wooden forces are also sent up the more circuitous route, north around the whole of the continent.

Large ships are required to host centaur, and the many supplies they need, so shamans gather to train their magics, specifically to control the waters. They learn to better churn and manipulate the sea, powerful enough to capsize some of the vessels they had been practicing their magic on. Once learned, their ships are much more easily able to maneuver the ocean.
>Shamanism

While most ships are located in the southern coasts, there are ones north as well. These ships are sent on a long range scouting mission westward, compared to the range they are used to when fishing on their coasts. Looking for a new source of food, they search westward.

Varken engineers have devised a very, er, interesting adaptation for the airship; The Float-Ship. This took the combined efforts of both the department tasked with finding an alternate method of propulsion for the ships, which came in the form of a spinning pair of wooden blades, called a “propeller”, and the team designated towards air-warships. The box shaped vessel is covered in bolted-in steel plates, and floats around 10 feet in the air. The ship has small firing ports for crossbows and a few larger ones for in mounted Ballistae. The balloons themselves are actually inside of the craft, preventing easy penetration by opportunistic archers and take up much of the ceiling of the craft. For all intents and purposes, this thing is a tank before tanks. Think korean turtleship, but floating and with no cannons (Yet).

With the successful implementation of propellers, these creations are mounted to other airships, providing better speeds and the ability to go against the wind. Trips between cities that used to take weeks if the winds were against the ship now only take a few days, as the propellers are unaffected by the winds. While the weight of the masts does help the ship’s maximum altitude, the weight of the propeller mechanism causes little in terms of height difference.

Actions:
1. Armored Hoverships

2. Propellers.

> Three turn trade with tarn is over, no more lumber for this boy.

Cenric observed the shipbuilding with great delight. Mighty warships they were, fit to carry Valandapol's name. But to be a truly reckoned force, it would have to keep up with the most modern technologies. And to get those, better links with other nations must be created. And to get those- Valand would need more trade goods. Exotic and unusual trade goods. From the lands to the east.

Cernric sends out messages with his fleet of trained hawks; one to the dogpeople, who may seek refuge in Valandapol against the coming storm. one to the Iskaysuyu, who have no trade partners and may be wanting for one (I've heard good things about llama wool). one to the Octopi, both with an offer of trade and an offer of a deal in which valand merchants passing through their waters do not get skull-fucked en masse. One to the Ancient and mighty Starkebrisen ver, just because he had forgot to last time. Lastly, one to the peculiar Uskijora, whose mysterious and sacred ways equate to great profit for Cenric's city.

To contain the projected number of ambassadors and foreign officials, Cenric decides that the pitiful "House of Contacts" be expanded into a complete ambassadorial district- where delegates from the worlds nations can live and have a great old time.

The lumber agreement nearly filled, the 15 ships lent are returned. They had spent their time patrolling the areas south, filling in the gaps left when the eastern navy had been dispatched to Uskijoran lands. There, they gained valuable experience patrolling the seas, and return veteran sailors.

The Tarnish shipments of lumber continue for now, but the time rapidly approaches when they will cease. Already, prices for timber are rising, and soon, they will skyrocket.

The ambassadors from Valandapol had been at sea for quite some time, searching for the city of Andreth. They had heard about the people of the so called “Free Human State” from the Tarn, but hearsay is one thing. Finally, they spot a city, somewhat inland, and to their surprise, strange ships that seemed to fly in the air. One of these flying ships made a pass near them, and returned to the port, where shortly after, a large ship, military if the deck mounted ballista was any indication, approached them. After a short conversation in rather broken tarnish trade speak on the soldiers’ part, they were told that they would be escorted to port, and FHS diplomats would meet them there. Following the ship into harbor, a group of diplomats arrived in an airship from a large, dome roofed building in the center of the city. They asked the Valandish to follow them onboard the airship and to come to the Daiimad building for any negotiations or deals they wished to talk about.

Englin had quietly listened to the debate between the one from the FHS and the one from those people who offered to help with the little 'wildlife' issue that the Republik was facing. Regardless, she felt now was a good time to speak and she didn't plan on simply sitting there and listening while everyone else debated and discussed what they were going to, so, she spoke. "The Republik can offer volunteers, mostly the Raue Windreiter, along with some soldiers to aid you in this war, all that we require is transport. I may be no general or tactician, but I do understand and know the importance of logistics and how to get that done efficiently. I believe that one of the most efficient ways we can go about this is by using Tarn ships to transport both supplies and soldiers to the fight. I also believe that it would be wise to actually deliver the supplies to the lands controlled by the people of our guest here as it would have a much more stable source of supplies for the soldiers brought to help them. I hope that you can spare a few to help us deal with the Schreckenstatuen, though I suppose I should speak more about them and the threat they pose to both the Republik and the Free Human State later in this meeting, either way, the Schreckenstatuen have a large portion of our forces occupied at the moment, so we will be unable to provide as many Verhal and Verstark as I'd like. Despite this, what we can offer without any issue is iron, and once the Schreckenstatuen we can dedicate many more forces to this endeavor."

>Action One
The Public Road Act, something made by Englin before leaving the council and delegated to some of her trusted subordinates to push through the council, would be passed fairly easily. The act did one thing and one thing only, a proper road network would be constructed to connect every city and town in the Republik. One might wonder why the Verhal and Verstark would ever use these roads, and the answer is a simple one. The Republik doesn't have flying carts, one cant fly with a broken wing, and lastly flying is something only Verhal and Verstark can do and as such those who couldn't fly would be able to also use the roads. Once the road network was complete, once every year, two weeks would have the roads touched up on and given some maintenance. Surely, once this network was created, trade would be able to flow much more efficiently.

>Action Two
The Schreckenstatuen are still an issue, and the Raue Windreiter along with the more traditional forces that were currently assigned to destroy these monsters would search the area's with the highest reporting of attacks, looking everywhere above the mountains and below them in any caves for the monsters that remained. Hopefully, they'd be able to find them and deal with them as they did before, with hammer, pick, and chisel.

>>3553404
“Thank you Starkbreisen. As far as using the Tarnish navy goes, however, there are issues with that plan. Something lying within the southern waters has destroyed much of the fleet we first sent to provide aid to the Uskijorans. Now the force sent north has ceased returning supply ships as well. Until we can ascertain the threat and neutralize it, the eastern seas are closed to the Tarnish navy.”
>>
>>3553874

"While the Society for Exploration and Discovery of the Wild hasn't managed to make contact with anyone else, they have discovered a fair bit. If your ships vanished while heading north then it's very possible that Verfluchtes Geheims Land has more than a barren landscape with only a single ruin at Kap des Verfalls, or at least the waters around it has something...Either way all that is needed is to get close enough that the volunteers can get to the shore. From there they can fly at night and reach their destination by wing and maybe cause some disruption to the enemy along the way. Though I can understand if you think that the risk for such is too high. I have to ask however, do you have any idea on what could have caused these sinkings and disappearances? While I'm sure you aren't certain, your admirals should have some ideas as to what's causing these issues."
>>
>>3554078
"We have no information from the northern areas, but the southern disappearances appear to have been caused by some sort of aquatic creature. Judging by the sucker marks, perhaps some close relative of the octopodes? We've sent a messenger to them, but have not received a response as of yet.In any case, my admirals believe and I agree that it is most prudent not to continue sending naval expeditions east until the problem is ascertained."

She lay there with her eyes closed praying to the spirits for some time before realising she wasn't impaled, or even bruised for that matter, the compacted paperbark had taken the impact! Action 1: The ship-builders committee convenes in a nearby tavern to discuss a matter of severe importance. For several decades past, the guild had neglected to keep its insurance policy current, and now the cost of rebuilding the great-hall far exceeded its current reserves. A new source of revenue had to be discovered. It had to be bold! Innovative! Cheap! Scammy!
The half-boat! The bottom two decks of a regular boat, sitting almost sheer with the water line. Covered on all sides by iron, these boats were found to make significantly quicker time than their weightier counterparts. Of course, there were minor flaws. The whole ship had to hermetically sealed while traveling, stank of rust and piss, could hold barely a quarter the cargo of traditional ships, sank on a dime, and had a nasty habit of suffocating everyone inside, but other than that it was perfect! Naturally, sales took off like a rocket.
>Half ironclads

Action 2: Despite the great success of the ironclads, the design still some minor kinks to be worked out. For one, the ships still lacked a means of propulsion. Masts tended to exacerbate the half-ships tendency to roll, oar-holes became a liability in choppy waters and minor course changes, and the south-Tarnish boat pedal method made everyone on the vessel feel oddly light-headed. Clearly new method of propulsion was needed.
Luckily for the builders, the guild’s leader had just escaped from Circleham Asylum with a brand new idea for just that. The detonation of paste packets, combined with several of the water pumps that made up the city’s fire-prevention system, could create a jet of water to push the ship forward. Combining several of these mechanisms in sequence created constant thrust, solving the problem. The issues of noise and all-consuming conflagrations were ruled minor defects.
>Engines
>>
>>3557187
The concept of the hover ship was interesting, but after the failure of the prototype, further development was shelved for the foreseeable future. The propellers however were a great success, and their implementation has led to far faster speeds across the board for airships. Gunpowder weapons also begin to gain much use among the martial and technologically minded clans, and an entire foundry has been dedicated to manufacturing guns. (That’s the metal tube, wood and bullets, not the powder.) Powder mixing buildings have been established outside the city to minimize the risk of widespread damage should a catastrophic explosion occur. Varken engineers have begun to look into improving the weapons, mostly in the realm of improved handling, with specialized stocks being developed to improve comfort and accuracy. Some have even been looking into creating a mechanism to hold the match and lower it into the firing hole by a lever, though only prototypes exist for now. In terms of major weapons development, a form of handheld explosive was created from a thin shelled ball of iron, using a match coated in incendiary compound then dried for a quick burn. The shell itself is filled with various loads, ranging from full powder which causes a large explosion with little shrapnel, powder mixed with iron shot which causes a less powerful explosion with more shrapnel, to even more exotic loads like a liftum or incendiary load. These so called “grenades” have proven effective in trials, and production has started.

Speaking of production, the clans have begun to adopt a faster method of creating all sorts of things. Rather than commissioning various smiths to create things on their own, they have begun to put them in one smithy, and to have them work on one part of an object, and then to pass it to another to add their part. This process repeats until the item is finished, and the repetition leads to the smiths getting used to their role, and thus faster production times.

The Uskijorans move out of their fortified border to the coastline. settlement is slow, and well guarded by soldiers, but the need for land is pressing as the north conflagrates further there is a need to move people south for settlement.

2. Psychic Shielding
The concept of psychic shields was far from new. The Warriorformed had been making useo f them for some time to deflect or ward off physical blows. It was a difficult power to learn and maintain concentration over. The idea then, was to turn that concentration from the active fighter over to a trinket that would project the same kinetic kill barrier and supported by a few Uskijoran elsewhere through a conduit connection. Slowly, more and more of the psychic labor of maintain combat powers was being turned over from the soldiers to civilian minds that could project power through the conduit and remain safe from actual harm, increasing combat effectiveness.

These new "engines" were incredible! Sure they required someone to watch over them at all times, had a habit of literally backfiring or exploding, were heavy and expensive to build, maintain & repair, overheated after a time, provided near-constant but jerky & inelegant movement through the water, could be made totally useless if exposed to high amounts of salt-water, and to top it off deafened the workers around them... but other than that, they're great!

The Children finally swallow the land once inhabited by the Dryads, sending back visions of flattened trees, charred & broken, radiating from a crater specked with ash, and a grey-green stone rubble.
"So this is what all the fuss was about?!"
The fleshscape Father had put in motion, now moved with a mind of its own, spreading exponentially faster than he could have imagined! It could not, however, spread over running water. Curious.

>>3558209
Along the border with the beasts, watchtowers were quickly erected, enough to get a clear view of any impending actions. Walls may eventually be necessary, depending on how the centaur react to Uskijoran presence.
Many civilians had become hardened in the face of war, and so could easily contribute to this new effort. Some however are drained by this request, needing to rest after only a small contribution. Talismans of scorched azurewood became a fashion, which seemed to dull the connection to the Umma, only slightly, but enough so that the young and weak were not afflicted with the intense emotions of battle and hatred.

>>3559184
Enough time had passed, that settlers felt the wide plain of past battle to be safe enough to build upon. The beings to the east seemed to have excluded this land when building their wall, they obviously didn't want it!

Action 1: Tarnish dockworkers and boatsmen, many permanently deafened from a career working in and about halfships, begin using hand gestures to communicate. The system proves useful to the congenitally deaf and in other loud professions, and Tarnish Hand Language begins to spread rapidly. The phrase, "As deaf as a docksman" becomes a common phrase in the Tarnish vernacular.
>Sign language

Action 2: The ports of Tercester had changed significantly in the past decade or so. Once a favored destination whose vistas had been prized by artists and "artists" of every caliber, the overnight rollout of halfships had provoked a mass exodus that plummeted property prices and portrait stands alike. But if the half-ships were an assault on the senses (and they were), the seaskippers currently enjoying a renaissance in the outring cities had an equally pernicious effect on one's sense of self preservation. Each skipper was a work of art, crafted over the course of a year from a single piece of timber, just big enough for a single person to perch. A man on one of these could skip from wave to wave, gathering momentum from each without need of sail or oar. He could spend his whole career on a single boat, growing together like a musician and their instrument, till they could cross the waves from port to port in half the time it took even the fastest clippers. Watching the skippers at work was a profound experience, even life changing. It made people want to quit being an accountant and do something “real” with their lives. Besides, how hard could piloting one of those things really be?
Needless to say, overturned skimmers were quite a familiar sight on outring coasts these day.

Action 1:
(For all those turns I missed my civ has been examining and producing handcannons for the quachap’s army)
On the eve of the seventh year, seventh month, on the seventh day, at down at the seventh hour of the seventh minute a priest of the machine of weapons turns silent while ordering the great device to produce a new batch of weapons.

After a customary minute the machine priest’s servants enter the ordering chamber, on the floor lies the priest’s dusty robes, and on the desk lies a button labeled “finalize”, and judging by a ticking sound the button is ready.

Due to this one impulsive member of the missing preist’s entourage presses the button, sending the holy machine whirring to life.

Out of its hold is produced many hand cannons, but these cannons are embalmed in blood and a meaty paste, and bone makes up some of its mechanism.

These hand cannons are found to be of the highest quality, their projectiles bringing an enhanced death upon its enemies.

As for the dead priests verdict of death he is explained to have been stripped of his soul and merged under the machine’s will.

And due to the quality of the weapons and the population problems resulting from an incredibly successful reign the great lord of the realm decrees that all who volunteer may give themselves to the machine, allowing themselves to become eternally in the great dance of the machine’s grace.

And so many old, infirm and dying are sent in. Producing weapons at capacity for the great army of the lord.

Action 2:
The realm of Iskaysuyu expands rapidly to both the east and west into machuman kingdoms and tribes, founding the city of Kinsirp’a west of the point where the river bends south of the northern hills (tile)

>>3562459
The reorganization of production methods has led to massive increases in construction of weapons, equipment, and tools in shorter periods of time, but the problem of more complex things has reared its head, as many lines tasked with the creation of items is hindered due to some smiths making them with parts that are more or less unique to that piece. Thus, a standardization of parts program is put into action. This only further decreases the time needed to assemble items. A similar method of production is being implemented in the construction of ships, both naval and aerial. In the mountains, improvements in mining by blasting surface exposed ore with detonium, with expedites the mining process immensely.
Many of the Clan armies of the FHS now use gunpowder weaponry, in some capacity. Cannons are fitted on ships and on wooden carriages for land use. When it comes to airships, tests involving other ship based cannons has proved to be for naught, as a broadside nearly capsizes the airship. Experiments in rear-loaded handgonnes have been started so that they could be mounted on airships and loaded like cannons.

The south-eastern portion of the continent is the only area where FHS forces cannot patrol the seas/skies. While we trust the Tarnish to be able to defend the area, we’d trust our own forces more. Clan Caldath has proposed an interesting idea, a floating island. The ship would be massive, and when put in position, would anchor itself to the seafloor. It would act as a resupply point for ships, drydock, and other such areas of maintenance. Regular supply shipments would ensure the artificial island gets the supplies it needs. The concept is approved, and work would begin on a prototype.
Actions:

1. Standardized parts
2. Artificial island-ship

The Warriorformed from atop their towering mountain fortresses had let the Umma know of the coming of the Awoo. They left in small bands to guard the flanks and provide protection to those seeking comfort and shelter in their well guarded lands. There were many, frankly too many, for the Uskijora to reasonably handle. Food and water were more issues than the present threat of land, of which the mountains and hills had plenty of for the Awoo to settle. Moji is brought before the leader of Skyspear, and from Orestyi other Uskijoran come. For the most part, they simply acted as mouthpieces for the Umma. All the maidens and children of that race listened earnestly to the conversations being held within the powerful fortress-monastery walls. Why had Moji come?

The around perhaps fourty thousand Awoos was a lot to watch, to watch streaming down from the mountains. As the crashing of things, the sounds of avalanches and paths being destroyed to the other side of the mountain. Awoo warriors protecting small children, protecting adolescents and those who were reaching puberty and beginning to walk with genuine intelligence and purpose.

Possessions, goods, mounts it seemed as if everything was carried.

But, before the leader of skyspear, Moji, filthy, dirty and carrying around four children, babbeling faint words of fear, being gently shushed, Moji speaks.

"The..Me and my people, my band, my Awoos."

An intelligence clear, a lack of the common failings within Awoo speech, intellect gleamed within ruby eye's.

"Have fled from the beings of the north, our lands tainted , our people, my Awoos! My band! Assaulted and Assailed, I brought them here...I was not confident, I was unsure, I wanted to make sure my people could survive.

That's why...I come here, because your are friends of my band, friends of my big band and are like us in many ways. My band and yours, should join, to take back our sands and to defeat...the ruiner, the bad one who ruins water and makes things bad."

The beaches are dry and the western grasslands dangerous and held by hostile centaur. What we can offer we will. You are welcome to stay here in our land where we can, hopefully, keep you safe. I," a curious break, for Uskijorans almost always spoke with a third person plural, "need to know the nature of the threat that chased you from your home. Come to me, Moji. Let me see with your eyes what you saw. With your permission I will look into your memory. What you know will aid us in battling this threat should it move south."

Action 1: After the paste incident, Joe Gunn, the leader of the shipbuiders had been “persuaded” by the more socially conscious sections of the shipbuilders guild to step down and take a leave of absence from the public sphere. He was resentful of the demotion, but the amount of free time suddenly available was certainly a benefit. He had finally perfected the ball-thrower, using a packaged paste charge to send a ball flying through a steel tube at tremendous speed. The accidental demonstration from before had only strengthened his conviction. This was the big one, the rivership, the thing he was born to build. Nothing else, not rank, not guildship, not the opinions of his peer, none of it mattered half as much as what lay in front of him. Once he revealed it to the world, everything would change. The only question left was: what to call it?
A flash of inspiration struck.
>Joes(part 3/3)

Action 2: There is something odd which occurs every so often in the universe which the Tarnish inhabit. Occasionally, a flipped coin lands heads before it is thrown. Coffee must be wiped up in anticipation of a spill. People who have never met another race develop translators which work for every language. Navies are called forth against threats that don’t appear for months after their completion. A weapon is created, just in time for its precise use case to appear. Very odd indeed.
Some believe that if the Tarns ever discovered and studied this phenomenon, they would learn a great deal about the meaning of life and the fundamental composition of the universe. Alas, the Tarns have yet to invent the word “composition”, let alone “universe”, and so their opinions on the matter have yet to be determined. Regardless, the march of time continues ever onwards, interrupted only by the occasional stumble and ethereal curse word.
One such expletive can be heard echoing through the hallways of chronology as the introduction of the Joes by the Shipbuilders Guild somehow happens precisely one hour after the People of Tarn decide to incorporate them into the new Tarnish Expeditionary Force. The new fleet of a hundred and fifty ironclads and halfships are equipped with 10 Joes apiece, while the hundred woodships carry 20 each. The ships are built quite quickly, although no ones precisely sure for what.

1. Settle Awoos
The Awoos are settled on the border, with half in the mountains near the river and the other half spread down the line of fortifications in the west. Their little and towns villages are well integrated owing to the fact that Awoos have lived in contact with many Uskijoran for quite some time and are well liked. From their positions on the border they are easy to keep an eye on while also providing a necessary service in settling areas that are only really lived in by a few soldiers for security.

2. Recruit Awoo soldiers
Part of this settlement process is the inclusion of Awoo as soldiers. The borders they live on need to be protected and the Uskijoran warriors are few enough. By adding Awoos to bolster the ranks the precious Battleminds can be redirected to battlefield intelligence and fire support, areas they excel at. Warriorformed remain to be the elite infantry contengient, but supported by Awoos they are significantly more difficult to overwhelm. There are, of course, issues. Awoo are dumb and often times need a Battlemind to directly control their officers to keep them moving in the right direction, or keep them able to follow more complex plans that units of Warriorformed or Battleminds could carry out easily. This results in some Battleminds forming a proto Signal Corps where their task was solely the facilitation of information and orders between Uskijoran warriors and their Awoo junior officers.

The Awoo, for their part, find that the Uskijoran war machine has little to offer them outside of armor designs of a more modern make. As the Awoo are psychically dead, azurewood is wasted on them. Instead, Awoos wear steel lamellar and wide-brimmed steel helmets. Their weapons are almost exclusively spears and whatever other weapons are most familiar to the Awoo. Organized into units of two hundred with one Battlemind liaison and ten Battleminds in a fire support role, the primary purpose of the Awoos is to protect the Battleminds from danger and take and hold ground.

Things in the Republik had mostly been quiet for a while, and there was a reason for this. Quite simply, no word on the fight against the damned Schreckenstatuen in the mountains had come. It was clear it was ongoing still, but no proper report had been made in full just yet. Otherwise, things had remained quite calm more or less everywhere else in the Republik. However, with news of a festival of technology in the FHS and the Republik being invited, the minds of the small subsect of the Society for Exploration and Discovery of the Wild who were more focused on discovery of how the universe ticked rather than what the world looked like were hard at work trying to make something that would be eye catching and show that the Republik is in fact advanced too...

>Action One.
There were plenty of things that could be worked on, but naturally considering the resources that the Society for Exploration and Discovery of the Wild had, the subsect had more access to smaller materials of plants and minerals than actual proper wood and steel. In other words, they had everything they needed and more for some chemistry and not too much to help with new production techniques or anything like that. Besides, production techniques weren't going to be something too exciting at a technology festival, and they weren't part of the government so what they made didn't have to be some sort of state secret. After some time, they manage to make a soft, almost dough like material that burned quite well and continuously for some time. Some testing showed that, when put into a iron mug, it could send the thing flying in the opposite direction of the open part of the cup. This gave the Verhal and Verstark working on it a very interesting idea, instead of just using all the energy in launching the projectile, why not have a continuous burn that kept the projectile going?

>Action Two.
The idea in question was a fairly simple one, why not make a special kind of arrow that was propelled by this new substance and lit with string? Of course, it would be impractical to use for someone using a crossbow, and honestly quite dangerous, but something much larger on the other hand would be much more efficient. The Streitwagen des Feuers as it was called was the result, it was a tall cart made from wood bought out of the inverters own pockets and carefully built with the help of a carpenter that could be loaded up with over a hundred Feuerpfeile's, as the specially made arrows were called, and with a light of a match, fired at a target. Essentially, it was a way to get a large amount of volley fire in the form of a nifty siege weapon, and one that maybe could punch through army better at that. It obviously needed to be aimed carefully, took a while to load, and it was best to not be directly behind it when it fired, but it surely would be good at dealing with large masses of enemy soldiers, but it surely would awe a crowd.

(got to hand it to you, your writing has really improved out of nowhere!)

>>3566285
This merging of flesh and machine was phenomenal, a revelation to Machuman kind; one could become so much greater than oneself, in the giving of one's body to the whole. Alas, it appears only the sick and dying are to know of this, so many cling to this life and do not freely give themselves over to live forever! Too, the materials given by those who willingly become one with the machine are, to put it bluntly, sub-standard. Brittle bones make for brittle barrels. Some better, stronger material would improve the longevity of these weapons.
>(Gonnes made of the sick and old are worse than those made of the strong)

>>3566914
The implementation of standardisation was going far slower than scheduled, the same instructions given to three smiths produced three different results. After much shouting, cursing, accusations that your father must be grittidim for you to be so stupid, it is found where the problem lies; Measurements. An inch in the north of the city was equal to 13/16ths of an inch in the west, and 1 & 1/8ths of an inch in the south. Before this plan can be rolled out, some far more basic standardisation would be needed.
The island "ship" would require such a vast quantity of resources and manpower, many favours would have to be called in, work regulations eased, and men pulled from other projects, not to mention getting it OK-d by the Tarn. One step forward, fourteen reams of paperwork.

The marching wasn't the problem, it was the organising. Yulklins are, disorganised, by nature, some of the ruder races to the west might even say "lazy" or "undisciplined", maybe they'd like to train a regiment of Amazons, see how they fair in the heat and humidity of Actkin!

The Faerie King Athul Swiftwing was bored. No Fey had intruded upon creation since his argument with the elf king over his disgusting treatment of human slaves. The remaining humans in Arcadia are old, even with the magic extending their life span. The Fascination would strike his people hard if they didn't return to the lands of men. So it was that he opened the gate of Arcadia once more, the time aiming near a city of truce. Tullus Ren Vay and his Awoo partner, Kina Ren Vay sat outside the gates of the FHS section of the Truce city. As guards, their duty was to prevent anything that could be a threat from entering the city. They donned heavy armors, and wielded halberds, and were trained in the ways of their clan for years. They had not been happy to learn their assignment in the truce city, a place where nothing ever happened, though the upcoming tech festival would be a great place to take Kina on a date. A group of strange, human shaped things approached the gates, and Tullus eyed the approaching forms warily.
>>
>>3571516
The weaker Fey stay back, any closer and the Hot Iron would banish them. Only King Athul and his personal aide, Glimmerlocks, approach, stopping 10 feet from the armored guards. "Hail! I am King Athul of Arcadia, and this is lady Glimmer of Hope. Tell me, does the race of men still remember the songs of Fey?"

>>3571579
Tullus is very confused at the words the thing speaks. Part of him can tell that this thing isn't human. Kina starts growling at it, and slowly begins to ready her weapon. Before she can do anything however, Tullus steps up. "I'm not sure what the hell you are, but I can answer that Mankind knows of no such things."
>>
>>3571595
Both of the Fey step back as the human steps forward. They almost seem, afraid. Athul gets a sad look on his face. "A shame, I remember a time that the mortals would dance till dawn to our songs. I don't suppose you would know where we can enjoy merriment with the race of men again… without the steel that would send us back to Arcadia." He eyes the halberd as if it had personally insulted him.
>>
>>3571609
"All humans use steel. Why would we not? Especially if it has such an effect on Grittidim." He spits back. He motions for Kina to fetch more guards, never taking his eyes off of the interlopers. Other soldiers arrive, including a Varken Engineer, who moves ahead of Tullus, brandishing his Flame Sprayer towards the things.
>>
>>3571637
Athul backpedals in the face of the technology brought to bear. Glimmer is not so swift, and vanishes with only motes of light to mark her passing. "Please, we mean you no harm. The Seelie love humans. We can make it worth your time." Athul frantically tries to reason with his assailants.

Many of the weaker Fey vanish in the way Glimmer had as they turn and flee, most of them weeping. Never before had the Fair Folk been so mistrusted by men. What horrors could have born such fear in their most beloved race?

A message is sent to the Western Alliance and the Uskijora by sail, calling them to a meeting in Truce city. The People of Tarn which discuss a matter of pressing importance
>Will be messaging you guys in Discord shortly
>>
The reformed and reconstituted Uskijoran military goes on a new offensive against the Centaur, looking to capture, push back, and remove the 4-legged savages from their shared border and providing a place for more Awoo to settle in better farmland. The idea was to push southeast from the hills down into the marshes and then a sharp line south to capture the grasslands.

The bullshit of doing what I was planning with that character from the very beginning. Is that what your talking about? "Oh no! The demon from another dimension decided to go back to that other dimension when their position was sub optimal. It's almost like they had common sense."

Let's recap:
A merchant comes ashore (intentionally I might add, she can leave at any time) on an island. She sets up a temporary shelter and makes some small trades with some natives, however, most of the natives range between unwilling to trade and downright hostile. There are all consuming monsters on this island and it seems to frequently experience natural disasters, nothing to match her advanced temporary shelter yet, but it's only a matter of time. She attempts to produce goods more to the natives' tastes, but her efforts are sabotaged by pests in her camp. So, she finishes warning the last group of natives about the ecological threat posted by all consuming monsters (not that they believed her.) She packs up her shelter and the goods she managed to trade for then sets sail.
But no, OP is too much of a whiny faggot to handle his players acting rationally.

Action 1:
The armies of Iskaysuyu march upon all above ground Machuman lands, taking over everything by force.

Action 2:
A final city is founded in the south to administrate that area. It is called Panaalpa (I will make a quick map of the places where the two cities shall be placed when I get the chance)

ON THE DEPARTING OF MEPHIE
The witch had grown tired of this world, it seems. So many had so little to offer, what use was there to staying? Having wasted her time on a voyage to the Octopi and being met with nothing but questions, she realised this was the final straw, the back was broken. In an explosion of frustration and bitterness, the spiritual part of Mephie retreated back to whence she came; leaving behind a colourless ragdoll. With her she took her toys and machinations, collapsing the escherian architecture of Emergence into itself, til all that was left were the sandstone walls inhabited by the centaurs. Her servants, having their souls ripped away, too fell as corpses. Thus ends the tale of Mephie, witch of the sands.

(OP Said it was okay to post actions, and a particular issue was able to be dealt with.)

Today was a day of celebration, news had come in that the Schreckenstatuen attacks had dwindled away into almost nothing after a large group of them were found and dealt with, only a minor clean up of a handful of the monsters remained and with it, people were able to go back to these lands and feel safe, in fact, the news meant many of those who were worried about such attacks would flood the area and start making a living there. This meant three things, the start of proper thorough prospecting, the proper settlement of the west rather than the fairly sparse frontiersmen who mostly inhabited it now, and the start of the Republiks second expansion.

>Action One.
With the lands safe, and a bit of encouragement from the government, many prospectors start searching the mountains, both Herzlandgebirge and Großehoffnungsturm. They'd be looking for anything from the earth that would be useful or valuable, be they gems like emeralds, flux stone like limestone, or simply ore like copper. While Herzlandgebirge would have a good deal of prospectors, it being the heart land and all, most would go to the now safe Großehoffnungsturm, what with the Schreckenstatuen eliminated more or less. Regardless, it was likely Iron wouldn't be the only material dug up en mass in a short amount of time.

>Action Two.
The Streitwagen des Feuers would, naturally, be adopted by the military fairly quickly. Of course some slight work would be done to make it a bit easier to aim and fire, but really, it did its job quite well, shooting plenty of arrows off and saturating a target with Arrows. Of course, this would be done fairly quickly, and the weapon would remain secret until the little showing with the Festival. Still, it likely would be quite an effective weapon, and a fairly mobile one despite the long reload time. In a sense, it was the first real artillery that the Republik would have, and it likely would be what future artillery of the Republik would look like, at least in some ways, as well. But for now, it was just a brand new siege weapon, and its true potential would take some time to be discovered.

Action 1: Successive sanding pushes the limits of Tarnish ships even further. The iron and wood walls of tarnish ships are sanded down by progressively finer materials, until the hull cuts through the waves as smoothly and silently as a knife through butter.

Action 2: With the increased implementation of ballistic weapons, a particularly intelligent Tarn notices that they all seem to follow certain rules, no matter their size. Investigating into this, she finds that mathematics, a hobby subject previously considered to have little practical value beyond arithmetic, can be used to predict the height and range of an arrow, bolt, or shot.

>>Action 1.

Integrated, protected their children behind safer lines. Many Awoo seem more satisfied with life. Filled with a desire for vengeance and a desire to assist for many of them lifelong trading partners and perhaps even friends. Awoo press themselves hard into their tasks, helping out Uski industry, citizens and military wherever possible! Earnest, loyal, grateful.

>>Action 2.

Moji is quiet, quiet as she adjusts herself. As she breathes in the air, back at her tent, at a place where her small children are safe. She finds males suitable and she trys for more, to further secure her lineage, to ensure that competent Awoo commanders will exist within a few generations. To make sure the Awoo will be more then soldiers and workers, that they will be leaders as well.

Under the mountain wastes, hidden away, suckling on the teat of the magma veins of the world a final calculation is completed. An ancient thing, older than all that currently exists that breaths and feels it awakened. The ancient mind of metal awakens.

It was the master of the catacombs, the thing that had awakened the machumans from their slumber of non-sentience, it had formulated the Dread Wasting and modified the bodies of the Death Touched.

It finally understood what it must do, it’s previous plan will not be able to be completed, so it suckles just a little more from Mother Earth, using millennia old systems to take all it can for one last breath.

Under the mountains and in the sky it can be heard in Antikuna, earthquakes of immense proportion mark it’s awakening, as ancient spires of baroque metal rise, restored by that which now reveals itself.

To avoid the cataclysm it has determined will come it must use the energy it has accumulated to open a great abyss under the mountains, consuming the ancient wastes and all that exist within into a world not doomed, or perhaps simply into oblivion.

When the portal closes the mountains lie levelled. Replaced with a flatland of bedrock and dirt.

None now live there, and from the exposed volcanic wastes smoke begins to bellow as the world begins to bleed.

FINAL REPLIES

With total control over the northern half of the western continent, Father feels a hint of satisfaction. He remembers his accomplishments, his victories, and takes note of his few failures. The fleshscape uncontrollably spreads o'er land & sea, and too now through the underground. It is only time until the Garden covers the globe. Father digs up that old reliquary from where he hid it, he gives it a few good kicks around his room, and buries it away again. 'Yes,' he thinks, 'I have done well.'
Yet, there is an emptiness inside him. So many plans left by the wayside, so many he somehow knows he will not complete. He can no longer hear the incessant chattering of that desert witch, perhaps she saw something coming, or worse, something never coming. Father ponders on this. Maybe it is time for a change of scenery.

With Awoo strength, and Uskijoran will, a new battle is begun. Talendra tear a hole in the wall, and unprepared for this assault, many centaur are quickly slain. But before long, horns blare, calling for aid. Warriors and Shamans from near and far begin their journey to the field of war, something within them knows it to be the deciding conflict. Though strong, the Awoo are not yet forged in battle, their lines break, their tear off into obvious traps. Battleminds and Warriorformed from even Skyspear are brought to fight now. Two forces of near-equal might crash into each other. No victor is in sight, in this rage of endless violence.

>>3572085
Cousins from all over gather to build a ship just like them Tarnies do. Of course, only a couple youngins has -seen- how Tarnie ships are built, but all they keep saying is 'We don't have the right tools,' or 'We have to build a dry-dock'. Dry-dock! What guff! Next they'll be saying dry-shine! Ha! The planks are meticulously cut, the sails woven, it's all coming together nicely. Until the thing capsizes and sinks to the depths of Jibber Bay.
It's been a long time since a proper sacrifice was given. Better get out the nice glasses for the spirits, this is gonna be another big'un! All the elders gather, even Uncle Nobby manages to get out of bed for it. When the rituals are complete, the songs sung, the bones rattled, the Spirits at last arrive. They arrive, in silence?
"Somethin' wicked stirs in the south seas, chilun. An' monstas are tearin' up the world in the north! Prepare for a nasty storm." With that the Spirits depart in solemnity, great grandma Benhilda's stew goes untouched, that means this is real, and bad. Worse, it's real bad.

The gonne takes another step forward, and with it, the world trembles.

THE WORLD CHANGES

>>3579002
What begins as only a peculiar tickle for the women of the east, soon becomes tremors. Buildings crumble, the earth itself shifts, The First Conduit crashes into itself, and fear grips the Umma. Smoke pours from the cracks, black and sulphurous. Though so long silent, even the Dryad in her grove cries out! Rock and soil and metal begin to rise, fire spreading underneath it all.

Earthquakes shake the entire world, the foundations of Truce City are destroyed. Water washes over Huey Island. Aquilo, Mendax, & Verax dry up. Dangerous quantities of explosives are shaken in Andreth, a full clan's worth of buildings are wiped out. Rockslides and avalanches bury Turmhelm, Englin trapped in her presidential chamber. The sands ripple and the Uru are swallowed whole. No one is spared. It is the end of the world.

2) Other powergamers in this game are only ignored because they go the tech route which is somehow more acceptable.
3) I'm literally playing the next game to get beat up. Everyone will hate me immediately and I'm not a military focused faction.
>>
>>3579080

Going to be honest, this was probably one of the worst possible ways you could have ended the game. There is no satisfaction, instead just a feeling everything that was done was meaningless. In other words it just felt like a rocks fall everyone dies fuck everyone and everything you did and have a kick to the shin as a cherry on top. I personally feel nothing at all would have been a better end but eh...what's done is done.
