>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

“Eheh, so again, sorry to keep you waiting!” the Angel tells you all. “Man, looking it over, you’ve got quite a group here, buddy.” He starts walking around all of you, looking over each of you individually. “Hmm… someone from pretty close to the sea.” he comments as he observes Lynna. “Bit of Magical potential there, neat.”

Lynna gives a polite curtsy to him. “Yes sir. How could you tell?”

“You got that kinda vibe to you. Anyway, might have something that can work for you.” the Angel replies. “Oh hey, you’ve got a lot of potential there, kid!” he comments to Horon. “Hylian, kinda looks like our old pal. Aww, did you bring this kid up here because you missed ‘em?” the Angel asks the Knight. The taller figure crosses his arms and grunts at him. “Just a joke, jeeze.”

“If uh, you’re talking about the Hero, then well, I’m his cousin.” Horon informs the Angel.

The boyish features on him light up. “Woah! No way! What a coincidence!” The Knight grunts again. “Okay, okay, jeeze. But yeah, strong magics there.” Next he moves to Aveli. “Gerudo, huh? You look pretty tough for someone so young. Not sensing as much Magic from you, but dang you could be quite the powerhouse.”

“Am training to be an Iron Knuckle.” Aveli responds.

“Oooooh, nice, nice. Heh, first one I’ve ever met. I’m sure we’ve got some things that’ll work well for you.” He gives her a double thumb’s up, then moves on to Sheik. He gets a bit quieter, raising an eyebrow. “You’re… curious.”

“I am Sheikah.” she tells the Angel quickly.

He gives her a suspicious look, but shrugs. “All right, if you say so. Definitely some things we can help you with.” And finally, the Angel moves back to you. As you’re looked over… you feel a warmth on your hand. He blinks, then gasps in surprise. “Wait… wwwwaaaaaaiiit a second, are you…?”

He bows. “As you wish.”

“In return though, may I ask who you are? And who your friend might be?” you question.

“Oh! Eheh, whoops, sorry, got a little carried away there didn’t I?” He rubs the back of his head apologetically. “Well! You may call me Piteraq, an Angel in service to the Goddesses, and keeper of these Trial Grounds, the Great Sky Temple!” His wings spread dramatically as he announces his title. The Angel then floats up slightly using his wings and pats the Knight on his pauldron. “And my buddy here is the last warrior of the Wind Tribe, Samiel.”

Most of your associates give him puzzled looks. Aveli even comments under her breath to Horon, “Do you have any idea what a ‘Wind Tribe’ is?”

He shrugs. “Not a clue but it sounds important.”

The Knight grumbles as he overhears them. Sheik though is surprised. “I… have only heard stories of the Wind Tribe passed down by the Sheikah. A people pure of heart that were able to walk on the clouds, leaving the surface world behind long ago to live in peace among the heavens, closer to the Goddesses.”

The Angel seems relieved. “Hey, good good, that’ll save me some time. I get all chattery when I gotta talk history.”

>A. And what purpose do these trial grounds serve? I saw murals depicting the previous Hero

“Well, Sir Piteraq, we should not delay. Hyrule is in danger, and we believe this Temple has one of the keys we need to save it.” You explain your meeting with the Great Deku Tree and how you knew the Temple was one of the few places that escaped Ganon’s attack during the War, and how you want to understand the kind of protection that the Temple used to stay safe. In addition, you explain, briefly, what trials you have already been through, and the man who seems to be intent on bringing chaos back to the Kingdom.

“Hoo boy… yeah that’s a bit of a doozy.” the Angel responds, rubbing the back of his head. “And this Mask guy is behind all of it?”

“We believe he is involved with an attempt to bring forth the return of Ganon.” Your hand moves to the pommel of your sword. “So these Trial Grounds, what purpose exactly do they pose? We had seen murals of the Hero as we walked through. Might it give us insight into magical blades, or at the very least the masks he seems to use?”

“Eh, I dunno much about masks, but swords and stuff? Definitely. The Trial Grounds help those chosen by the Goddesses to reach their true potential. Kinda. It’s a bit more involved than just that, but… eh, explaining it all would kinda take the point out of it, and sounds like you don’t have much time to delay.” He floats up a bit towards pillar the Knight used to signal him. “What I can say is that this place stayed out of Ganon’s clutches for a very good reason. It’s not like… a barrier or something. It’s also not exactly something to easily replicate.”

“Well, there goes any idea of this being easy.” Aveli comments.

Piteraq places his hand on the pillar and activates it once more, placing his hand on the stone with the four-pointed symbol on it, glowing blue lines jetting from the pillar and around the room. “You see, this place is home to the Thunderbird, a powerful being that even the likes of Ganon can’t defeat. Only those truly chosen by the Goddesses, like the Hero, can complete the trials set forth by it.”

“So could we convince this Thunderbird to swoop down and beat Ganon for us?” Horon questions.

“Nope. Not how it works. Down on the surface? It’d only have a limited use of its powers, no longer as connected to the Goddesses as it is up here.” The lines converge around a stone door on the other side of the room, much like the one that you entered through. “But those that pass its trials can be granted tremendous boons, as proof they truly are chosen by the Goddesses.” He walks towards the door, with it opening up. “If you guys feel ready, Samiel can show you the way.”

>A. We are ready, right everyone? Let us complete these trials and save Hyrule!

“Before we start, I have a couple questions, Sir Piteraq. Would you mind?” you ask.

“Aww not at all!” he responds cheerfully as you all approach.

You nod. “First question then. Did the Hero complete these trials himself?”

He looks to the Golden Knight. “Kinda. My buddy here participated as well, but the pair worked to complete the trials together. Like you’re about to do! Teamwork exercise.”

You turn your attention to the Knight as well. “That leads me to my next question then. Samiel can clearly understand us and respond in a manner… but is otherwise silent. Why is this?”

The Knight turns his head to you and seems to be looking down his nose at you, not exactly appreciating your question. Piteraq seems surprised by the question. “Well… noooot exactly the proudest moment of our-” The Knight grunts at him. “Okay, okay. Sheesh. Long story short, my pal here’s been cursed. Voice sealed away, has been for years now.”

Sheik looks to him apologetically. “I am sorry to hear that, Sir Knight. We will not pry further if this is a sore topic for you.”

Horon likewise gives an apologetic look, rubbing the back of his neck. “Didn’t realize…”

He waves dismissively, then motions for you all to follow. You look back to everyone. “Then we are all ready, right everyone? Let us complete these trials and save Hyrule!”

“Yeah!”

You march forward, through the door and into the Temple proper. The Knight leading the way, you enter into a wide, open area. Large temple structures scattered around floating islands, connected by “bridges” made of either stone or clouds. You notice some curious structures flying around as well, machines of some sort. Even a few in the distance that look to be patrolling the area.

You end up in a large amphitheatre of some sort, with a structure in the back that seems to lead up a level, but it is one guarded by door with a barrier over it like the previous ones. As you start to move forward, though, a group of strange, square blocks move in from behind the pillars of the amphitheater, swarming around you. Each one seems to have some kind of engraved pattern on it, on a reflective surface. The Knight draws his sword. Looks like you’re in for a fight!

You draw your own blades, standing beside the Knight. You give him a nod, though he keeps focus on the foes surrounding you all. Aveli, Horon, and Sheik all ready themselves as well, Lynna keeping in the middle of you all, ready to help if need be. You and Samiel move forward, but as you do one of the blocks backs up a bit… and reflects some sunlight into your eyes. You flinch, and using the moment of distraction, one of them using this moment to rush you and knock you down!

[Hearts: 9.5/11]

“T!” Aveli yells out.

But right as you’re knocked down, you mange to slash along one of the patterns on the block, damaging it and causing it to float slowly back. You force yourself back up and finish it with a fierce secondary slash along the damage you already did to it. The Knight looks to you, seemingly trying to ask if you’re okay, and once it’s clear you are, he slashes at another block’s pattern, felling it instantly.

So that’s definitely the key! “Everyone, along the largest lines on these blocks!” you order out.

“Got it, T!” Aveli yells back, swinging her blade at the nearest block and snapping it in twain instantly, Horon and Sheik following suit and taking out a pair on their own. As the one that tried to blind you attempts it again, you close the distance and use both swords to slash and take it down. You turn back to the Samiel and smile… and notice he’s brought down five on his own already, with the last falling almost instantly to his blade.

As you all regroup though, you and Lynna both notice something, that she speaks up about. “They’re not disappearing.”

“Pardon?” Horon pipes in.

“Usually the remains of monsters vanish when they’re defeated…” Her finger taps her lips.

“Perhaps because they are not monsters.” you speculate, looking to the Knight. He seems to give a quick nod. Meanwhile Lynna continues to look over the blocks, a look on her face like she has an idea.

“What are you thinking, Lynna?” you ask her.

“The shapes these blocks made when all of you cut them are… curious. They’re irregular, but they all seem to have some consistency to them.” She mentions. “Maybe if…” She then starts to move closer to one, then pushes it slightly into another block. There’s a soft click between then… and the reflective surfaces begin to glow slightly. Lynna smiles.

Samiel tilts his head at her, curious. The rest of your allies all start to look over the pieces, noticing what she’s talking about. Hmm…

Think about this, Zelda. There may be a mural nearby, somewhere. Glancing at the reflective surface again, you look carefully over it. There’s… a slight translucent quality to it, as if it were some form of stained glass over- …Idea. “There may be a pattern to them, Lynna, I shall search for one.”

“Okay, I’ll try to match what ones I can!” she replies, pushing another one closer together. You start searching for some kind of pattern in the area, trying to see if there’s something, anything, that could hint as to what it should look like. The Knight seems to follow you a bit.

“Might you know anything about this little puzzle?” you ask. He places his hands on his hips, looks around, and… then gives a shrug to you. Your eyes narrow. “Are you actually trying?” A little offended by the question, he gives your forehead a flick. “H-hey! Don’t do that!”

Samiel gestures to the blocks Lynna is moving around with one hand, then to the door with his sword. You’re… not entirely sure what he’s trying to imply there. And so he repeats the gesture. Sheik walks over and asks, “Is this puzzle necessary to open the door?” He shakes his head. “Hmm… is there something beyond the door related to it?” He gives her a pat on the head.

You move towards the door. Still the same circular stone it was before… wait. “Sir Knight, can you raise me higher?” You ask of him.

“Ooh, trying to get a better look? A good toss in the air might help!” Aveli recommends.

Samiel contemplates that. You frown at him. “Please do not.” He agrees to help you up, and standing on his shoulders you just barely see a staircase that seems to lead up to another level… but there’s also a lower one, not connected by anything.

At the moment.

Ahaaa! You turn your head around a little quickly… and spot something curious around the amphitheater’s arches. It’s not as noticeable standing still… but there’s something there. You turn your head again quickly and catch glimpse of bits of reflected glass around it. One more try, and you notice the pattern they make. And right as Samiel seems to think you’ve lost your marbles. Lynna manages to make a circular pattern from some of the blocks, but many more still remain.

“Try to make a Lightning bolt with them.” you recommend.

“A… lightning bolt?” Horon asks skeptically.

“Aha! Yes, that matches perfectly!” Lynna calls out cheerfully, pushing a few more blocks into place.

Once set down, Horon blinks at you. “How do you know that?”

“The pillars have bits of glass that reflect light in a certain direction.” You point out to him. “If you move your head quickly enough, you can see the pattern they’re supposed to make with them.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrUIKwm31kw

“Got it!” Lynna calls out in a near sing-song tone of triumph. A lightning bolt shape in a circle. And… all the blocks begin to glow, then sink into the ground. There’s a loud thud from behind the door.

You head over and give her an appreciative high five. Horon still seems a little confused, and even the Knight isn’t sure how you got it. Confidently, you add, “There was only a couple things it could have been… and given that we have a ‘Thunderbird’ at the end of these trials, what else could it be?”

Samiel tilts his head up… and seems to give an approving nod, firing a Sword Beam at the door to bring down the barrier. And inside, you see the staircase has actually split! One leading up, one leading down! You’re off to a great start!

“We should head through the lower level first.” you comment. Samiel looks back, having taken a step up the ascending staircase already. You can tell he’s giving you a… less appreciative look. So, you explain further, “Our ultimate goal should be above us, given the brief look we had over the Temple’s layout when we… arrived. Ergo, checking the lower level will be prudent. This is not the first temple all of us have been through.” You look over to your allies. “We should check for any resources we can gather. Look through pots, chests, anything that can help us later.”

“Got it, T.” Aveli affirms.

“Yeah, you could definitely use it.” Horon adds in... then quickly adds, “Er, I mean, it’d be good to refill what you can.”

“I understand what you mean, Horon.” you tell the boy and head down the staircase. The level below is a circular room with several small chests scattered around, even five pots to pick from! Score! Though… you get an uneasy feeling as you head in, like you’re being watched by something. Samiel seems to pick up on it as well. You spot something creeping in the shadows. The Knight gives you a nod in the direction the pair of you spot it, apparently asking if you want him to investigate that while you gather up supplies.

You give him a nod, taking care to stay out of his way, moving to the chests and pots. You manage to reach one of them… when you notice one of the shadows move close to you. Just barely reacting in time, you fall backward as it leaps from behind a pillar and tries to attack you. And as you do, you get a clear look at it… and it is definitely not what you were expecting. It’s like an octorok, but lacking any eyes… or a face… or anything beyond a vague, almost jellyfish-like appearance, translucent flesh with some structure inside it. It lets out an awful screech as it fails to grab hold of you.

The Knight’s blade stabs through it, curiously freezing the jelly-like flesh of the beast as he does. You hear the sound of his breathing grow heavier as time feels like it slows. In a flash, the frozen monster is swung via his sword at yet another that tries to attack, the frost passing over to the second one. The Knight then stabs his blade through both monsters, felling them in their frozen state. He motions for you all to hurry, and your whole group gets to work, opening up the chests and going through the pots.

With him holding off the monsters, you manage to make off with some materials to restore your health, a few Crossbow Bolts, and a nice 23 Rupees.

[Hearts: 11/11]
[Rupees: 110]
[Bolts: 90/90]

Your allies likewise are back to full stock and health, even scoring 29 more Rupees between all of them. And what’s more, you end up with a Piece of Heart from one of the chests, and even Lynna manages to find one as well, though nearly getting attacked by one of the monsters herself in the process. The Knight makes quick work of it as well, a total of five of the jellyfish beasts brought down.

The Knight looks over the vanishing enemies, head lowering… and you notice his fist clench. He moves back and hurries you all back up the staircase.

>A. Hand your Piece of Heart over to Lynna, that’d complete the four for her
>B. Request the Piece of Heart she managed to acquire, leaving the both of you at half a set

You hand Lynna your extra Heart Piece. “Here, it’ll make the complete set for you.”

She seems surprised. “A-are you sure? I mean… I don’t mean to offend, but maybe you’d need it more than I will…”

You give her a nod, explaining, “I am well aware of how dangerous the foes going forward may be, and that is why I feel you need this more. You are a lifeline for all of us.” With a humble smile, Lynna takes the Heart Piece.

[Lynna - Hearts: 5/5]

“Plus none of us, especially Termina, would want to see you hurt.” Aveli comments with a wide, cheeky grin.

You raise an eyebrow at her but don’t make comment beyond it, and instead refocus over to the Knight as you all ascend the staircase. “Yes or no questions, that acceptable?” He nods. Okay. “Sir Samiel, forgive my crassness with this, but what in the Goddesses Names were THOSE things? Forces of Ganon? You seem to have prior experience with them.”

Samiel shakes his head to your question on them being minions of Ganon, sighing softly. Sheik decides to join in. “But nonetheless things as dangerous as the monsters that serve Ganon?” And to that, the Knight nods.

“Am I correct to assume we will face more of them?” Another nod, slower and not happy. Great. Just great. “Is Ice the only way to dispatch them? What of Fire, or some form of Magic?”

At first he starts to nod, at the suggestion of Ice but then stops. He gives you a “so-so” response with his hand. Sheik rubs her chin. “So Ice is most effective, but there are other methods?” That gets another nod.

“Good thing we learned as much as we did up in Snowpeak, huh?” Horon mentions. “That Ice enchantment is gonna save our butts.”

Samiel gives Horon a nod this time, though seems more surprised by the comment. Lynna’s turn to ask. “Should we expect other monsters like them further in?” He nods, and she gulps. “H-how many?” He holds up a hand flashing four, then five with his fingers. “…Nine?” Samiel shakes his head.

“Forty five, minimum?” Aveli guesses. That’s a nod. “Oh. Oh how fun. Forty five more monsters that take Ice to bring down. Wonderful.” the Gerudo girl sarcastically remarks.

You decide to ask one last question. “Are you okay?” He tilts his head up, apparently a little insulted by the question. “I tend to notice details quite well, Sir Knight. You have history with them, and apparently painful history. I do not mean to question your abilities, but just as we know we can rely on you, I want you to know you can rely on us. Are you okay?”

He stops ahead of you all as he reaches the top of the stairs. After a brief moment and a quick sigh, he gives a nod. You smile and nod back. As the rest of you get up to this level, you see that there are two paths that lead from it, a rocky one going west that has a few clouds floating near it, and even a few smaller floating islands connected by them, and an eastern path leading closer to the rest of the temple.

>A. Let’s head west, might be something related to these monsters appearing

“Sir Samiel, what do you propose?” you ask the Knight. “We would like to be thorough with this Temple’s trials, but we are aware of the kind of threat those monsters pose. Your guidance here would be paramount.”

“Given that the monsters seemed to lurking around the shadows, but were only in that lower room, maybe there is a source of them from somewhere.” Sheik speculates. “But would that be deeper in the Temple, or somewhere off the main path?”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uH3GmfBbKJw

Samiel looks back at the pair of you, then glances to the west. He gives a nod of his head to move in that direction, and then gives Sheik a pat on the head once more, and you a brief one too. The Sheikah girl briefly moves her hand up to her mouth, trying to hide a smile behind it, but you manage to make note of it. Hmm. In any case, Samiel has you all head along with him. As you walk, you take in some of the scenery… and really start to see how pretty the place is. The bright blue sky above, the scattered clouds below, the soft-colored marble contrasting the greyer rocks, even patches of green and puddles of water around, but the sunlight most of all brings a soft, warm glow that permeates the area, flavoring it with a very, very slight gold tint, especially as it bounces off the clouds.

It’s then when you notice something ominous in the distance. What looks like the silhouette of a small lizard… no, not small. Lizalfos? …Aeralfos. A few of them. “Sir Samiel, do you see them too?” you point out. He gives a nod, and then chuckles. As the reptiles start to fly closer, a flash of light fills the sky that catches you all off-guard. You regain your senses quickly, and see that a blast of lightning has struck monsters, the crack of thunder following as they drop from the sky.

“Wow. Guess Angel face wasn’t kidding about the security system.” Aveli comments with a whistle.

Moving towards the rockier area, you see a few clouds floating through the area, making bridges that connect it between a few smaller floating islands… but the clouds aren’t quite as stationary. A strong wind moves them along. There do seem to be some strange things scurrying around, and statues of some sort trying to… blast them? “Beamos?” Horon asks aloud.

“So it would appear.” Sheik affirms, one of the statues blasting some of the scurrying creatures.

“I suspect the Beamos are native to here, but those aren’t, correct?” you question Samiel, and he nods. “Then there is definitely something wrong with this. Let’s get to the bottom of it!”

Ending up closer to the Beamos blasting at the monsters scurrying around them, you get a good look at what exactly they are. Chuchus. Chuchus of… a strange color. Or rather, set of colors. Many seem to be a dark, slighty silverish-grey, with one more of a pearl color, and a couple greens. 10 in total, though there were more before the Beamos started firing, maybe thrice that number. They might make short work of them soon enough.

“Should we jump in and try and get some loot before it’s all gone?” Horon asks.

“I’m more concerned about the source of them. Look.” Sheik points out. Where there were 10, there are now 11. “Something is wrong here. Samiel, have you dealt with monsters like these up here before?” He shakes his head no.

“The Chuchus are definitely cause for concern. We should locate where they are coming from. Everyone, make sure to avoid the Beamos when possible, they may not register us as friendlies.” You move onto the cloud-bridge connected to the floating island, but keep your distance from the action. As the lot of you slowly head forward, the strong winds from before pick up, pushing the clouds further, and taking you all with it. Still connected to the island, but you don’t want to start drifting more than you already have. Managing to stay away from the main group of Beamos, you still end up in the sights of of one of them. Very quickly, its beam blasts towards you, and while you’re able to avoid the brunt of the damage by bringing up your shield, it still nicks your left leg, causing you to stumble slightly off the cloud and into the dirt.

[Hearts: 10.5/11]

Seeing you in distress, Horon rushes in to try and get its focus off you. “Hey you son of a Moblin, over here!” And he succeeds… by making himself a target instead, the beam sliding right over to him. “AGH!” he yells out as it makes contact. Aveli makes the save and gets him out of danger, Samiel firing a Sword Beam at the Beamos’ eye and disabling it. All of you manage to get distance between yourselves and it, heading onto the island as the Beamos go back to mopping up the Chuchus.

More importantly, you see where the majority of them are coming from, a large, multi-colored slimy mass seems attached to the side of the island, chunks of it budding off and… following towards the pearl-colored Chuchu. Why that one? Samiel looks to you, gesturing that he’ll deal with the Chuchu mass on his own.

“All right, Sir Samiel, we will be on-guard if you require aid.” You give him a nod and head over to Horon. “Are you okay? Do you need healing? You took a much worse hit than I did.”

“Ngh. I’ll live.” he replies as Aveli sets him down. “Besides, we should worry more about you making it out of this, right?” That… comment doesn’t help settle your nerves, your limbs stiffening a little.

Lynna frowns at him and checks him over. “We should worry about all of us making it out of here in one piece. Don’t go in with the mindset that some of us won’t.”

You look back to Samiel, seeing him rubbing his chin for a moment. He seems to be… plotting out something? After a moment, he seems to have his idea. He brings out a small, glowing blue object vaguely resembling a bomb, and… does a quick dive-roll to build up momentum? He then lets the bomb roll down the side of the island, having picked up a bit of momentum from him, and… right into the mass of Chuchus. An explosion followed by a loud sort of squelching sound. He looks over the edge, then gives a soft sound of triumph. He then looks over to the pearl-colored Chuchu, which seems distressed after the removal of the Chuchu mass.

Samiel gives you a glance, then nods at the monster. Seems to be offering to let you finish it?

“Certainly. But first, Sir Samiel, may I ask how you did that? Rolling along and tossing a bomb like that.” you question.

He tilts his head slightly, as if he’s raising an eyebrow at you. He then points at the Chuchu, currently scurrying away as best it can away from the Beamos as they mop up the rest of the group. You nod, implying you want to try this on it. He lets out a small laugh, then decides to demonstrate once more for you. He brings out one more small, glowing blue bomb, noticing a Beamos finish up blasting a Chuchu. Still holding the bomb, he rolls near the Beamos and lets the bomb roll out behind him, bringing his sword up to, to your surprise, deflects the beam with his sword. The bomb then detonates and takes out the Beamos. Walking back, he motions for you to try.

Okay. You’ve got your shot. You run after the pearl-colored Chuchu, bringing out a Bomb, and then dive-roll towards it, ending up in front of it, with the bomb trailing forward behind. You being in front spooks the Chuchu, giving it pause, long enough for the bomb to bowl right next to it, right as it is about to explode. You grin. The explosion takes out the Chuchu.

You continue on past the Beamos and toward the edge of the floating island you’re currently on, spotting another island, a bit larger than the current one, with a small building set in the middle of it. Beamos flank its entrance, but no sign of any more Chuchus. As you walk, Aveli talks with the Knight about the skill you picked up, wondering if he has any more skills up his sleeves. He gives a slow nod, as if with pride.

“Oooh, anything you might be able to show me?” the Gerudo girl questions excitedly. Samiel gives a so-so wave with his hand. “Hm. Well, anything we should try to pick up from exploring this place?” she asks next.

As you reach the edge, you see the clouds that briefly formed a bridge float away from the strong winds. You snap your fingers. There’s another patch coming close, but they’re a ways away. You do notice a few posts that seem wooden that you might be able to reach with your Hookshot, but there’s no corresponding ones on this island, so anyone who makes it over is going to be stuck there for a while.

“We should wait a bit before heading over. At least give some time to make sure we’ve been thorough with this island.” You glance at the Knight. “Samiel, do you have a Hookshot of your own, or some other way of getting across?”

He actually grabs something from the back of his armor and brings out a small device that… looks like a more compact hookshot. But then, he decides against showing it off, raising his finger to tell you to wait, and then motioning for all of you to stay put. He starts to walk off, looking over something. “…Sir Samiel?” Sheik calls to, concerned. He waves to her, motioning for her to stay put too, then gives a reassuring thumb’s up.

Well. Curious. But you still want to check out the area some. You decide to look over to where the mass of Chuchus was. It’s still gone, and thankfully there’s nothing growing back. However, you spot that the area where it was is indented slightly. “…That’s odd.”

Lynna and Horon head over first, Sheik still keeping her eyes on Samiel, while Aveli walks to you slowly, dividing attention between the Knight and yourself. Horon’s the first to ask, “What’s odd? There still more of them?”

“No, but look at this.” You point to the indentation. “It’s… almost like a small crater.”

“Like the impact from a cannon shell?” Horon asks, with you giving a nod in return. He looks at it again, rubbing his chin, when his eyes go wide. “Wait… are you suggesting someone is… is firing Chuchus from a cannon?”

“How could they survive the impact?” Lynna asks.

“...Same way we did?” Horon guesses. You both look to him. “What? Come on, it’s not that out there of an idea.”

“But it is a very distressing one.” you comment. If there are more of those cannons, and if some of those working for the man with masks have taken control of them…

“...Heeey T? You might wanna take a look at this.” Aveli calls to you. You look over and see Samiel… running? Running… rather quickly. What is he doing? His armor starts to glow, yellow sparks jetting out from around him as he bolts toward the edge. Is… is he going to run across?! You’re about to yell out to tell him to stop, but he’s going too fast, he’s gonna-!

…He stops right at the edge and kneels, then leaps through the air like a bolt of lightning over to the other island. He waves at you all to follow him.

While it crosses your mind to grumble over him showing off, you think better than to say it aloud. That was rather impressive, though you’re not going to feed his ego either. All right, Hookshots out! “Lynna, let’s get everyone over to the other side.”

She nods, and Horon holds on to her as Sheik and Aveli hold on to you, the both of you targeting the wood on the other side and firing off the Hookshots. Once across, Samiel crosses his arms and nods towards the building, the Beamos still flanking its entrance. Seems you’re out of range of them at this point, thankfully. With everyone regrouped, you explain what you saw, “From the look of things, the mass of Chuchus ended up there from being fired out by cannon. Which could mean that the forces attempting to infiltrate this temple have taken control of one of those cannons you used to bring us up here, Samiel. Are there any still around in Hyrule that you know of, even just hidden ones?”

He takes a moment to think, then slowly nods. He raises a hand, showing two fingers. “Two that you know of?” Sheik asks. “In addition to the one we used?” Another nod.

“Great. Well, do the security systems of this place hold up as well as the Beamos did behind us?” Horon asks next. Samiel crosses his arms again, tilting his head up. “…Taking that as a ‘not worried in the slightest’ response then.” the boy comments, lowering his eyebrows.

You start to move a bit closer, the Knight drawing his sword and firing off a Sword Beam between the pair of Beamos. It takes a bit, but they notice it and track it for a time, a good ten paces from where you all currently are. Hmm…

You look to the Knight. “Sir Samiel. I have a plan. Everyone, listen in…” You explain your… rather complicated idea, but your allies seem to be on-board with it. Samiel draws his blade and you your crossbow as the two of you approach. The Beamos notice, and ready their beams. Samiel’s quick reflexes not only allow him to deflect the beams, but actually REflect them right into the eyes of both Beamos! You use the opportunity to fire volleys of Crossbow bolts at each, motioning for your allies to hurry along as they’re damaged and distracted.

[Bolts: 86/90]

They’re able to all run past, even Lynna, with you and Samiel moving closer to the Beamos. They definitely didn’t seem to like that, and immediately target both you and Samiel, but the Knight once again deflects one of their beams, while you just narrowly avoid damage, slipping slightly as you back up. Samiel’s hand grabs your arm and keeps you on your feet. And now, there’s only one way to finish this. Both you and Samiel bring out a pair of bombs, and right as the Beamos start to recover, you roll past them and set the bombs behind. You enter into the doorway and turn back. Right as the Beamos pair are about to fire, two explosions finally finish them both off.

You and Samiel look to one another, you with a satisfied grin on your face. Samiel pats you on the head once more. “I-is that necessary? You seem to do that every time someone does something you approve of.” you question. He chuckles and starts to head on in. You fake a pout. “Don’t tell me you’re doing it just because you like reminding others you’re taller than them” He tilts his head up and even without seeing his face you know he’s smirking at you. You resist the urge to stick your tongue out at him and head on in too.

Entering the building, you see that the interior is illuminated by what initially look like small shafts of light, but are instead some kind of softly glowing stone. There are several pillars with curious slots on the bottom of them flank the walls. A curious pattern on the floor leads you to another stone door, with a barrier around it. Approaching it does make you notice a couple Hookshot spots flanking it. Samiel draws his sword, about to use the Sword Beam to drop the barrier.

“Just a moment, Samiel.” you tell the Knight. “There is something I noticed in this room. Look at the pillars here.” There are six in total, and as you move closer you notice it IS about the size you could fit a bomb in. Seems rather deep too… huh. The pillars are hollow?

Lynna looks with you, kneeling down and checking for any sort of pattern. “Hmm… if I were to guess, these are chutes of some kind.”

You bring out the Mask of Truth, making a pointed effort not to look at Samiel with it again, and look towards the pillars. They do seem to be hollow somehow, and you notice a sort of… spark of some sort from closer to the floor. Looking it over, you do get a very, very vague shape peek from the pattern on the floor.

In the shape of a bolt of lightning. Four points seem to line up with four of the six pillars. Aha~! But how are you going to handle this? Bombs do seem to be what they’re intended to take in, but how…?

It takes some time to really consider how to best go about this, long enough that Samiel seems to be getting a little bored over it. But eventually you decide you’ve got it. “So, if the door is where this bolt leads to…” you motion over the pattern on the floor, then walk toward it, reaching the pillar where you believe the tip of the lightning bolt starts. “Then it stands to reason that it would from door to entrance, no?”

“Might be, what makes you say that though?” Lynna asks. “Because the door’s like a cloudtop or something?”

“One way to know for sure.” You grin and bring out a bomb and set it to roll down into the first slot, then move quickly and set the next, and the third across from that, and finally the last down by the entrance. You back away, and one after the other, the bombs go off. You proudly stand once all are off. And…

[Bombs: 4/10]

There’s a sound of shifting blocks nearby. One of the glowing stones illuminate an area behind that final pillar. You walk over and find… huh. Half of a golden… saucer of some sort on a raised platform. There’s a design in the center, but it just looks like a jumbled mess without the other half. You take it and bring it over to everyone, Samiel instantly recognizing it.

“Do you know what it is?” Aveli asks. The Knight nods.

“Is it something the last Hero did when he was here?” Sheik questions, and you yourself recall the mural you saw when you entered. Another nod, and a pat on the head for her. He fires a Sword Beam at the door and motions for you all to follow. Next room seems a bit larger than this one.

You continue on to the next room, and as you do you ask Samiel about the half of the saucer. “The Hero and Piteraq had a pair of these on the mural we passed through as we first arrived, Sir Samiel. Do you know more about these?” He nods. “Do they have some sort of function in the Temple? Something to do with the trials of it?” Another nod. Aha!

“Did the Hero have to complete similar trials?” Sheik adds in. And yet one more nod. She then raises an eyebrow. “You were rather intent on heading forward, even though you knew such a thing was there.” Samiel looks back to her as you all enter into the room, as if asking her to think over that comment. She takes a moment. “...Ah. So you want us to figure them out ourselves, without your guidance.” Samiel stops as you all keep walking, giving Sheik another pat on the head.

“I guess it would spoil the point of these being ‘trials’ if we had someone figure everything out for us.” Lynna mentions. Once you’re all inside you see that there’s a small staircase leading down a bit into the wide, more open room. Light, natural light, peeks in through the ceiling. Several strange structures are scattered around the room, illuminated softly. Towards the back there’s a large statue of some birdlike creature… the Thunderbird, perhaps? Samiel brings his hand up, telling you all to hold, scanning the area. You… hear something moving. Noises coming from behind the statue. You catch glimpse of something large, shadowed slightly. What… is that?

Samiel seems to exhale angrily as he reaches for his blade. The thing behind the statue notices that, and moves away slightly. There, you see a massive… thing in some kind of black armor, the main body of it having a vague, triangular shape, hunched posture, not sure if the helmed head has some kind of neck or not. Legs stomp out from behind the statue, like a mix of avian and insectoid. You see one arm holding a large sword that it brings up defensively. It lets out an awful sound as it sees all of you, and as it comes into view… its other hand holds on to something you were hoping you wouldn’t see.

A mask.

The monster points its blade at Samiel, the mask in its hand giving off an ominous aura. It… seems to chuckle an awful, horrible laugh. The Knight stares down his foe, giving you all a glance and motioning to stay back. Aveli scoffs at that. “Listen Sammy, we can handle ourselves. We’ll back you up and help you take this thing down, right everyone?!”

Horon nods, drawing his own sword. “These guys aren’t supposed to be here, yeah? Then we’ll help shoo them out.”

You bring up your shield as the monster rushes at Samiel with far greater speed than you were expecting. However, the Knight parries the sword swing of the monster’s sword and the dodges to the side, thrusting his blade forward and managing to push the monster back. Aveli rushes the monster as well, her sword clashing with the monster’s, though to her surprise they end up pretty even in strength, which allows the monster to get the upper hand for a brief moment and use its larger stature to smack her in the gut with the broad side of its blade. Before it can slash again though, she gets a solid slash in on its chest, forcing it to move back again.

You see this as an opening, dodging to the side with your shield still up, then quickly bringing out the Hookshot and firing it at the Mask… and a direct hit! You pull it away, and looking over for a brief moment. It’s… strangely light, almost like it’s made as light as a feather, yet it feels dense. Two lines come across the mask from top of the head to the sides, going behind the eyes, as a stitched mouth frowns back at you. Quickly putting the mask away, you try to enhance a Bomb with Ice, but the monster is able to close the distance quickly and even as you try do dodge away, it still manages to smack the side of your head with the back of its free hand.

You Move out of the way and give Sheik a thankful smile, then roll under the monster’s legs as it brings its sword down… and onto the Ice Bomb you set to roll behind you. It blasts open and encases the fiend’s lower body and arm in ice!

Horon finally launches several fireballs at the monster, encasing it in flames! …And yet not felling it. It’s very damaged, but not down yet. Samiel looks like he’s ready to finish it off though.

While you could help the Knight finish his foe, maybe fire off a couple Crossbow bolts, you think he’s got it. Instead you back away, the staggering monster knowing it can’t get to you without falling in the process, and decides to try one last desperate lunge at the Knight. You see him build up power around his blade… in a manner similar to the Spin Attack, sort of, though he brings his arm back and then thrusts it forward like a normal Sword Beam. Except the blast is significantly more potent, boring through the monster as it lunges. He looks over all of you for a moment.

“You’re just full of surprises, ain’t ya Sammy?” Aveli asks, checking herself over. “Hmm… yep, everything’s still there. Hey T! You still okay?”

“I am, but starting to run low on Bombs. Let me look for some…” You start checking around some pots in the area, but also look to the mask again. It’s… still got this ominous aura to it. Like at any moment it might start to crack and leak vile, corrupting sludge. And yet, it still feels so light.

Horon joins you, curious about the mask. “So why was that thing carrying this around?” he asks, Samiel looking over the monster’s corpse, picking up some Rupees from it. “Think it’s got something to do with the main mask guy?”

“Could be. This one feels a bit different though, more… potent is probably the right word for it.” you reply.

After searching around, you actually manage to restock your Bombs, thankfully, finding ones that look like those Samiel possesses. Don’t seem functionally any different than yours, though, and he doesn’t protest to you taking them. You further find a bit of stuff to restore your health, and a nice 22 Rupees. Score, and then some!

“Samiel, do you know anything about this mask? That monster had it, after all.” you question, showing it to the Knight. He leans over, fixed on it for a moment. He gives a slow nod, taking the mask for a moment to look it over. You get an idea, and take out the Mask of Truth. “Here, maybe this can give insight into it.” You wait for him to hand the mask back before putting yours on, then look down at it. Hmm… definitely getting this ominous aura to it, and for a brief moment it looks like it gives off a pulse that- YAH! You yelp and let go of the mask, with it softly floating to the ground.

“T, you okay?!” Aveli rushes to your side, Sheik following.

You nod slowly and remove the Mask of Truth. “It… it looked like it was leaking some green sludge for a moment.” You glance at your hand. Not feeling anything lingering on it, thankfully. “As if its eyes opened and it began to… leak somehow.”

“Creepy.” Horon comments. Samiel takes the mask again, then stuffs it away. “You gonna hold on to it?” the redheaded boy asks. The Knight nods. “Well, you probably know more than we do about it.” You meanwhile notice the bomb slot and decide to give it a go. Tossing one of your normal bombs in, explodes and seems to activate something. The bird statue’s eyes glow with a curious light, and below it a sort of… small path opens up stretching from the statue to the base of the stairs. There are six small slots along the path, patterned in a way that reminds you of the pillars in the previous room, though you also notice a reflective surface along the path. Curious…

[Bombs: 9/10]

Samiel takes a moment to sit down on the stairs leading to the door, observing you. Sheik moves to him and tilts her head. “Another test?” she questions. A nod. “It would be helpful if we had some way to communicate beyond just yes or no.” the Sheikah comments. Samiel’s hand moves to his throat, rubbing against the armor covering it and sighs.

Lynna sits by him, though her eyes are on the small path. “This does look familiar, but… hmm. Is the reflective surface supposed to mean anything?” Samiel glances at her, a quick nod given. “Hm… so it uses bombs?” And another nod. Lynna taps her chin. “Why DOES this place take so many bombs, anyway? Doesn’t seem like it’d be very good for the structural integrity of the place.” That gets a laugh from the Knight.

Horon then snaps his fingers. “I think I’ve got an idea! T, no more bombs for a bit. I wanna try something…”

“That is acceptable, thank you. Though please, Horon, you shouldn’t be afraid to suggest ideas like that. We are all in this together.” you tell him with a kind smile. He smiles back bashfully. You do point out, though, “We should test if such a thing is possible, though.”

“All righty, one test, coming up!” Horon declares, letting out a fireball from his gloves at one of the slots. It… works! The area lights up briefly, and not just from the flames. You hear Samiel chuckle approvingly at that.

You think back to Sheik’s comment earlier, and tap your chin contemplatively. “This may be a strange request, but does anyone have any parchment and a writing utensil? Maybe we can get around your inability to speak, Samiel, if briefly.”

Lynna starts going through her bag’s pockets, but frowns and shakes her head. “Dang. Didn’t pack anything like that.”

“Perhaps you can write in the dirt, somehow?” Sheik wonders aloud, the Knight contemplating it as well. Right as you’re about to proclaim it highly unusual NONE of you have any form of parchment and utensil, Samiel snaps his fingers. “You have something?” Sheik questions. The Knight then… holds her arm by the wrist. “Wh- h-hey!” Samiel holds up his finger, and then places it on her palm and… writes with it. Oh. Oh! That’s one way around it. Sheik shivers a little as Samiel pokes with his finger. “…I guess that does work. Though, Sir Samiel… while I could understand that, you… didn’t write it in Hylian.”

“Wait what.” Horon asks flatly. “What’d he say?”

“Our Knightly ally asked ‘Understand?’ though it wasn’t written in Hylian.” Sheik explains. “If I am correct, this is the script used by the Wind Tribe, yes?” Samiel gives her a thumb’s up. “CAN you write Hylian?” He starts to poke and draw on her hand again, Sheik tensing slightly. “…I see. Samiel says that while he is able to, he cannot answer as quickly in writing Hylian.”

“So I guess you’re going to need to play translator for us, huh Sheik?” Lynna makes note.

Samiel lets go of her hand and gives her a friendly pat on the shoulder. Sheik rubs her wrist but looks to you. “If it will help us communicate, then I shall.”

“Great!” Horon exclaims. “We still got a puzzle here though. Whatcha think, Termina?”

“The mirrored surface must hold significance. Try reversing the pattern from the entrance, Horon.” you tell the boy.

“All right, let’s see…” He moves back to the stairs, then looks it over. “Here we go!” He launches fireballs starting from the bird statue and continuing down to the stairs, reversed from the pattern in the previous room. Once all fireballs have been launched, you all wait to see if it worked…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5vSuk8tHF0

And it did! The bird statue raises up, revealing… yet another half of a golden saucer. You head over to collect it, and find that it matches the design and fracture pattern of the other. Bringing them together, they glow softly. Samiel stands and nods approvingly, motioning for you all to follow. Horon grins at you.

You give Horon a high-five. “Good teamwork, Horon.”

He high-fives back. “Thanks. Good teamwork.”

Aveli walks along with the two of you as you head out. “So, you found two halves of this plate, but what exactly does it do? It’s kinda… glowing a little. Is it supposed to?”

“That is a good question.” You catch up to the Knight. “Sheik, Samiel, may I ask what this is, exactly?”

The two look at one another, Samiel poking his hand. Sheik nods, and holds her hand out for him to write on. Sheik first answers, “They are called Kinstones, an apparent relic from a far off age.” She waits again for Samiel to give more information. “They have a.. Magic to them that the Great Sky Temple can make use of.”

“How many more are there?” Lynna questions.

Samiel writes again, and Sheik responds for him, “Four, ideally.”

“Which means six more pieces. These ones were pretty easy.” Horon makes note, placing his hands behind his back.

“Unless those things are after them too…” Lynna speculates as she rubs her chin. “Wait, what even ARE those things?”

Samiel writes again, though Sheik gives him a confused look. “…Really?” He nods, and she replies, “Samiel calls them ‘pirates.’”

Lynna’s eyes narrow and in a tones that tries very hard to hide her disbelief, repeats, “Pirates.”

Exiting back outside, you feel the wind blow stronger than before. The cloud bridge is back, but it won’t be there for long. There’s another one coming, but it’s a ways away

Well, no time to delay. You hurry along to the other side with everyone, and just barely make it. You help Lynna along as she tries to keep up, pulling her onto the ground right as the cloud bridge drifts away. You turn your attention to Samiel once more. “Can you give us more information on these ‘pirates’, Sir Samiel? Who they are, what they want?”

The Knight rubs his helmet contemplatively, as if wondering where to begin. Finally, he has Sheik hold out her hand, and begins to write… rather quickly. “...Would it be okay to paraphrase for you?” she questions, and he nods, continuing to write. “Okay. Samiel says that they are from a very, very far-off land, but have been raiding several nations. They apparently go by… sky?”

“Sky pirates!” Horon exclaims with a slight gasp. “Woah!”

“What, do they have some kind of flying pirate ships they use too?” Lynna questions half-jokingly.

“...Yes.” Sheik affirms. Lynna frowns. “Of a sort. They apparently serve… ‘war’?” Sheik looks to Samiel in confusion. “I must apologize, I am not sure I understand the word you are using.” They get quiet for a moment as Samiel continues to write on her hand. “So the being of War, a demon from the deep abyss of the seas, serves as their leader. Apparently they were foes of the Wind Tribe in the past, and a… Wind… Fish?” Sheik blinks at him. “Well, that and another being drove them into the abyss in the past. Their leader should still be sealed away.”

“If they are aligned with some sort of demon, they may have joined forces with the man with masks to help them free said being.” you speculate. With determination, you declare, “One more reason we must work together to stop them all. Where to next, Samiel?”

He gives you an approving nod, and motions for you to follow.

You make your way past the Beamos once more and head back to the main path. After crossing a bridge, you come across another split. There’s a staircase leading down a level, and a path continuing along that’d bring you closer to the top of the temple. Samiel crosses his arms and looks to you, checking to see which path you want to try first.

You motion to the staircase, and head on down. The path is a bit more narrow, the stairs spiraling a little and going through a rocky cavern. Curious patterns can be seen across the walls of the cavern. If you had to guess, stylized forms of wind, given the clear cloud shapes and bolts of lightning that also adorn them. There’s an odd spiraling pattern near the end of the stairs that Samiel briefly takes note of.

You exit out into a slightly narrow walkway that curves around the rocky island for a ways. Samiel stops you as you all exit, then draws his sword. He fires off a Sword Beam… and watch as jets of flame shoot out after the beam. Ah. Well, this could be tricky.

“I can probably get someone across pretty quick.” Aveli makes note.

“If needed, I can attempt to climb around the walkway.” Sheik adds in. Samiel looks to her and pokes his hand, Sheik again allowing him to write. “Samiel says he can carry someone across as well.”

“Horon, let Aveli carry you. Samiel, can you get Lynna across safely?” you ask quickly. The Knight gives a nod.

“W-wait, Termina-” Lynna’s about to protest.

“This will make the trips the shortest. I will head forward on my own.” you tell everyone.

“Got it, T!” Aveli exclaims and picks up Horon, carrying him over her head. “Leeeet’s go~!” The pair bolt forward, jets of flame edging close to them as Aveli runs. They pass around the curve… and you hear a yelp. “Hot, hot, hot!”

“Y-you okay?” you call out to them.

“Yeah, Aveli just got nicked by the flames.” Horon responds. “They’re a bit quicker than they look, be careful.”

Well, okay. Your turn. You stretch a little, then start rushing through, Sheik following you from the outside and keeping pace. The flames ARE quick, but there’s a bit of a delay that you’re able to take advantage of. And right as you pass around the curve, you actually roll forward and dodge the final jet. Whew!

Sheik lands beside you, the two of you noticing Aveli brushing some of her leg armor. Just then, Samiel bolts past all of you with Lynna in his arms, stopping gracefully, and letting her down gently. He gives her a pat on the head and motions for you all to head forward, into a chamber in the side of the floating island. As you enter, out of the corner of your eye you notice a flash of lightning, and hear another crack of thunder. More monsters trying to fly in.

Inside the chamber, you see a trio of doors with barriers over them, and in the center an odd spiraling symbol. Start of it seems to point to the door to your left. Hmm…

“Sheik, Samiel, can you check out the next room? I think there may be something to this.” you request. While Sheik gives you a quick nod, the Knight tilts his head up at you. “It would be better to be aware of all options we have, wouldn’t it? The quicker we are done with this, the quicker we stop those posing threat to your home.” The Knight looks down to Sheik and then back to you, nodding and heading out. Okay, and next… “Horon, you’re up.”

“That I am!” He tosses a fireball to the bomb slot, and it activates, a blue glow emanating from sending a pulse around the room. Slowly, the stones above the birds begin to slide out, revealing a sort of mesh on the sides of them.

You move to the one closest to the ground. “Lynna, with me, can you see any more spiral patterns? Maybe something pointing out what that shiny object is up near the ceiling?”

She heads over quickly, turning her head up. “Hey… it’s underneath these slabs!” she exclaims. She then looks up. “Ah, the pattern matches these slabs as they continue up! And… hm… I think that mesh might work with out Hookshots!” As they finally all move into place, you get this… very peculiar feeling that they won’t stay like that forever.

“All right Lynna, let’s go! Head up, and keep your eyes open for any more murals that stick out.” you tell her, bringing out your Hookshot. She smiles and does the same, and the two of you start on your ways up the spiraling blocks. While you start to stumble after the first pair, you quickly reorient yourself and even give a graceful bow to Lynna once she gets on the same platform you nearly stumbled on.

“Are you showing off?” she asks almost teasingly. “Or just trying to help me forget our initial meeting?”

“You were the one who fell onto me.” you remind her, childishly sticking your tongue out at her and continuing to the next platform. As she follows after, she makes note of one of the birds a bit higher up, but needs a moment to think it over as the two of you ascend.

When she’s finally had time to mentally digest it, Lynna snaps her fingers. “There’s something off about that one.” She points out. “Look at it, it’s raised slightly, like it was placed on the wall instead of carved into it.”

You see the bird and further note that it doesn’t have a person riding it like the others. You get an idea. “Continue on, I will be right behind you.” As Lynna heads forward, you use your Hookshot on the bird… and it pulls off! Behind it, a Piece of Heart! Score! You still have to move on after Lynna as the platforms start to retract, but eventually the pair of you reach the top, with you giving her a curtsy as you land. “Eagle eyes, Lynna. We will have to get it later, but there was a Piece of Heart behind that mural.” you inform her.

She looks ahead and proudly places her hands on her hips. “And that looks like it’s important.” she remarks… as another Golden Kinstone sits before the two of you. You take it and notice below another bomb slot. A few pots around too.

“Lynna, do you think you can use the Gale Boomerang to retrieve that Heart Piece?” you ask, moving to the bomb slot.

“Sure, juuust gimme a moment~!” she responds happily, looking for the Heart Piece.

You call to Horon to set a bomb when needed, and once Lynna retrieves the Piece of Heart, you set down a bomb of your own in the bomb slot. Quickly looking through the pots for a spare, you find one and start to head down. About halfway, you tell Horon to use his, and to both your and his surprise, the platforms not only move open, but no longer retract. Aha! They’re set in place now!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZltmhbcJ0TU

You and Lynna head back down with the half of the Kinstone, then exit out to the main chamber. Sheik and Samiel regroup with you, with you explaining retrieving the half of the golden plate. Horon then asks, “How about you guys, find anything of note?”

The Sheikah girl looks up to the Knight. He lets out a loud sigh, but waves his right hand at her. She does her best to hold back a girlish giggle, then explains, “The next room continues the track, though it is a bit more difficult than the previous one. A few traps have been set in there.” She looks again and smirks a bit. “Some even Samiel wasn’t prepared for. There did seem to be some requirement for Magic, though. The room was tall and had strange symbols near the top.”

The Knight glances away and huffs. You’re about to say something when all of you feel the ground shake, as if the island was struck by a cannonball. Samiel quickly turns his attention to the door you all entered from. You hear… sounds coming from it. What is…? Wait, you know what those sounds are. All of you end up on guard as you hear more of them. Those Pirates, and quite a few of them, are right on the other side of the door!
