RECAP
>Your name is Char “Rotty” Rotfeld. You are the daughter of the drag queen leader of the Desert Divas, along with the House of XXXstravaganza branch within it. It doubles as a brothel and place for balls.
>You were forced to escape when Milo Williams Inc. attacked.
>After some shenanigans, you ran into Goliath. He has a woman with him and does “fucking” with her. He is the leader of Goliath’s Boys.
>He tasks you with scaring cattle down south towards a plane to set up a trap for the Shepherds.
>You meet one of their members, Anthony, who is relying on you to tell him when you’re ready to go through with Goliath’s plans so you can double cross him… But you accidentally ended up doing a triple cross, making it so that you are leading the Shepherds into what they think is a double cross so you can help them fall into another trap sent by Gol’s Boys. It’s complicated.
>Right now, you are in a bar scuffle with a young masked man named Strelok, who you originally wanted to join your party, but since decided that he wanted to tell Anthony about your plan.

BACKPACK:
>Enough rations for three days.
>20 Porno Magazines
>Homemade Spear: Your weapon of choice. It uses a pole vault as a base and has a sharpened rock attached to it. With your high STRENGTH, you can easily use it for more acrobatic maneuvers.
>Unappraised Fiery Rock Artifact: Presumably allows you to emit fire from your hands when equipped, but you cannot know how long you can sustain its radiation unless you find a professional.
>Unappraised Clear White Rock Artifact: Presumably allows you to cause people serious headaches when equipped. Same story with the radiation.
>Goliath’s Boys Wolf Headdress: The headdress of the infamous Goliath’s Boys group. Neat, but you still have no idea what they are all about.
Space remaining: 4/6. Mags and rations do not count towards this total.
>>
STATS
STR: 6 You are above average in terms of strength, same as a man who goes to the gym. You’re not absurdly powerful but you’re above most people in the wasteland who aren’t constantly fighting.
INT: 4 (1/7) You can do simple repairs to basic gear and can make simple plans. Don’t expect to outwit people very much outside of combat, you’re not too clever, though you can take care of yourself.
AGI: 5 Average speed.
CHR: 4 You have trouble convincing people of what you want through words, but you will be able to talk yourself out of situations where you may be getting the short end of the stick. You will be able to recruit people through money or if they are already predisposed to aiding you. Convincing anyone else will be difficult, however.
WIS: 5 (2/10) You can detect those who clearly don’t have your best interests at heart. People who masquerade their intentions with kindness or some other subterfuge will be hard for you to detect, though you are pretty well off for such an isolated girl.

USEFUL INFO
>Combat is freeform. Stats inform your abilities.
>Charisma divided by 2 = How many companions you are allowed at one time. Becomes more important depending on if you decide to go the Warlord Route.
>1 Day of Travel=1 Ration
>Finishing a main quest allows you one stat point.
>You can gradually build them up by exercising it as an option.

>GLASS HIM. (Won coin flip)

The decision was way too hard to make! How were you gonna eat if he sold off one of your only ways to make money? After a long period of silence, he starts squirming in your grip and forcefully tightening his grip on your arm. As an immediate reaction to the pain, you grab the glass he was drinking from and smash it over his head, rendering him limp in your hold.

>Drag him out of the bar while giving Anthony a thumbs up that the plan is about to start.

Not wanting to stick around with the guffawing and roaring of the surprised men, you give Anthony a thumbs up and carry Strelok.

“I-I’m ready!” is all you manage to shout before kicking open the bar’s door and making a run for the dinghy town. Phew, good lord. Now what?

>Dump Strelok off somewhere.
>Take him somewhere quiet to resume negotiations when he wakes up.
>Overcome by guilt, slip him the artifacts and leave him be.

As a reminder, your travel options are:
>Look around the stalls for someone selling ____ (enter what you want to find).
>Visit the bar.
>Visit the strange hole with doors at the side.
>>
>>4179341
>Take him somewhere quiet to resume negotiations when he wakes up.
>Visit the strange hole with doors at the side.
>>
>>4179368
((I probably could have phrased the first option better. It implies that you would be waiting for him to wake up in a secluded spot so you won't be able to leave somewhere else as another option.))
>>
>>4179341
>ask the barkeep to watch over him and slip Strelok the red rune as an apology

((Haha, for sure, the game was about to be cancelled. Glad at least someone cares.))

You take a deep breath, then let it all out. You sort of… messed up. Big time. You carry his body back into the bar, enduring the awkward “oooohs” from the amused men as you set him up on the counter.

“Mister… Could you—” He cuts you off before you can finish your sentence.

“Wow, little boy has moral compass after all!” He chuckles. “And here I was going to ban you for life!”

“Haha…” You rub the back of your head sheepishly, then slip in the fiery artifact into one of his pockets. “Make sure he doesn’t lose it, ‘kay?”

The bartender nods his head. As you walk through the door, Anthony looks at you with mild amusement entirely different from the bulging eyes of surprise he had before. In spite of your embarrassment, you made a moral decision while admitting your mistake, potentially saving the mission you jeopardized in the process. Though the wasteland won’t always be so generous as to reward you for it, this is a good emotional development for you. Thus…

You gain 2 points of Charisma, landing it at 4 (2/7).

Now what do you do?
>Try selling the artifact.
>Listen for rumors about people who may be capable of appraising artifacts.
>Visit the strange hole.
>Ask some of the natives about the town.

You decide to listen in amongst the crowd for information about artifacts and who can use them. While you are listening to a pair of armed travellers at the bazaar, a story begins to form…

“Yo, hear about what happened with doc’s ‘playboy’?”

“No. What?”

“Fucked up shit. Doc sent him out to deliver a few artifacts he figured out to Gerry. And Ger—nasty fuck he is—got his boys to hold the motherfucker down for a few hours so they could have fun with him.”

“Fuck me, some people just wanna use the shit place the world’s at to make it worse.”

“That’s a fact. People say they been seeing him stare off drawing dicks and shit on the ground since then. Doc’s fucking beside himself ‘cause no one’s doing anything. Won’t analyze jack shit.”

“Nothing to be done. Ger’s the big boss who made this place what it is, ain’t nobody stopping him.”

...And that’s it. How do you respond?

>Approach the two men for more information on [insert].
>Try to find someone matching the description of the “playboy.”

You search the town high and low to find the “playboy.” It isn’t long until you stumble upon a man so gorgeous you blush. He’s sitting down on a plastic chair by a building that looks larger and more stable than the others, exactly akin to the bar. Stick in hand, he draws the exact images he was rumored to with a hollow look in his eyes, absentmindedly continuing the motion repetitively like a machine, only to wipe out the dirt which he drew it on each time the space was filled. What do you do?

“Hey…”

The playboy looks up at you, jumping a bit in his seat at the sight of your mask. Upon closer inspection, you note that he has a sword at the side of his hip which his hand was immediately drawn to the moment he heard your voice. And yet, when you continued speaking you could see his body relax.

“Heard somethin’ awful happened. Just wanted to ask if you’re okay an’ all.”

To your surprise, he responded with a laugh.

“You have a very nice voice.” You were taken aback by his comment, less because of its contents and more because of how he sounded. All considered, the guy had a pretty bassy, masculine voice.

“Yeah, I get that a lot.”

“And humble too, what a catch!” Despite looking uncomfortable in his own skin from afar, he warmed up easily to you. Did it have something to do with you being a girl?

Anyway, how do you respond?

>Inquire if he can tell you anything about the white artifact you have.

“Hey… Been meaning to ask, there anything you can tell me about this?” You unzip your backpack and present the white stone artifact to the man.

“Oh? A white one.” You place the stone into his held out hand. He envelops it into his fist, closing his eyes. For a solid minute or so, there is total silence. “You would have to ask Doc for a precise amount, but he’s not in the best head space with those weird plans he’s making. That baby can get you anywhere from three to six days of use before you have to put it away, I can tell you that much for sure. And it’s white so it’s obviously a mental power.”

“Yeah, yeah, that thing made me feel like my head was gonna split open!” You say excitedly.

“...Not exactly how I pictured someone talking about that particular experience, my friend.” He raises an eyebrow at you.

“Pff. I get that sometimes, too!” You put your hands behind your back and grab your wrist, pushing your chest forward as you smile. “Oh, how do I use that thingy anyway?”

“No wonder you seem so happy—you’re totally clueless.” While the words may have sounded cruel, he said them with such mirth that you couldn’t help but smile. “All you have to do is strap them in a slot right next to your body, then hold out your hand to call out the effect.”

“Really? That simple?”

He nods his head. You recall that you have precisely 1 slot where you could strap it onto your poncho.

“That simple. The Great Anomaly brought out our ability for psionics. Artifacts allow us to channel that power. If you want, I do have a detection artifact.” He holds out a small key emanating a white aura. “We could figure out your talent for psionics right now. The better you have it the stronger your artifact usage will be.”

“Really? Sure!”

“Well… You’re not the worst? Not the best either. You definitely need a lot of work if you want to use artifacts with any juice behind it.”

“Oh…” Well that was disappointing. “Can’t the Doc do anything for me?”

“Maybe?” He rubs his temple. “Whatever he could give you would mean that one of your physical abilities would have to suffer in exchange. I wouldn’t worry too hard about it. My key helped me detect your strength as well—you’re pretty tough. Keep smashing heads while practicing on the side and you’ll be fine with artifacts.”

“Hehehe, maybe.” You grin a toothy grin. “Ooh! Maybe I can turn that bit of juice I have into more muscles with the Doc’s help.”

Suddenly his face takes a more stern look.

“I’m not your mom, kid, so I won’t stop you from going in there. I’m not happy about what happened. Doc isn’t either, but he wants to take it to a whole nother level. Right now, whatever he wants is bound to get whoever helps him into trouble. Just know that before you make any decisions.”

The man’s words resonate with you. Doctor’s are supposed to be smart, so there’s no doubt you can get a lot of gear from this. However, Gerry’s supposed to be pretty important. If he asks you to harm him somehow, you’ll be the enemy of the town. What’s your choice?

“Ugh… Okay, you made your point.”

“I’m glad. Don’t feel too bad about it, though. You gotta look out for yourself this day and age.” The serious look melted. He seemed relieved.

“And what if we look out for each other?”

He raises a brow in confusion.

“What do you mean?”

“Like we get you outta here and you come join me!”

He lets out a chuckle.

“Sorry, but I’m indebted to Doc ‘til he says otherwise.”

“Oh…” You slouch. Why didn’t anyone wanna join you?

“Hey, don’t feel too bad. I’m sure you’ll have your own squad sooner or later. Tell you what,” he stands from his chair, “Doc and I are pretty well off so we’ve got a few materials to spare. I can convince one or two.”

“For real?!”

He nods his head and makes his way to the inside. After a few minutes of waiting, he returns with three items: some weird toy, two trays with tied together by a string via two drilled in holes, and a few pieces cheese.

“Not the best he has to offer, but this is all I could get him to shell out for a stranger.” He hands you the goods. “That cheese should last you about three days and those trays should stop knives from getting through you easily.”

“And this thingy?” You hold up the toy.

“Oh, that’s a water gun I snuck out for you—it’s full of Victorious nail polish which is extra flammable. Should do you good for about… 50 feet? He’s been experimenting to make ‘em long ranged but he found a new one to tinker with.”

“Whoa…Thank you!”

“Not a problem. If you need help, just give me a shout and I’ll lend a hand if I can.” He pat you on the head. Your immediate instinct was to flinch back but you were oddly comfortable. He had a sort of… fatherly aura to him? Kinda like Mother Fifi did. “No beat it before Doc forces you to give it back.”

“Wow… uh, thank you, mister…” Oh how rude of you, you completely forgot to introduce yourself! You’ll never raise your Charisma at this rate!

“Alex. And you?”

“Rotty!” You respond.

“Well nice meeting you, Rotty. See ya around.”

You wave goodbye with energetic motions. Soon, you find yourself back at the center of town equipped with your armor and with the water gun in your pocket.

After thinking through matters carefully, you ultimately determine that, for now, you have finished everything you have set out to do. You gulp as you sit on your bike, pedaling with all your might.

-

Eventually you find yourself in the field again, already donning the wolf headdress.

“Here goes nothing…” You frighten one of the radioactive cows, making a series of embarrassingly loud barks and woofs. Well, embarrassing to anyone watching. You thought it was pretty fun. The cow stampedes at the pace of a stallion, soon the Shepherds follow behind you as planned. You feel bad for them; they’re being lured into a trap and they hardly realize it.

Within a few hours you find yourselves at the airplane where the true plot will unveil itself. Near the airplane you find a small force of Goliath’s Boys waiting for you. You stop scaring the cow and bring your bike to a firm halt.

“Yo, Char, good work!” A familiar voice resonates as you and the Shepherds halt in front of the group. “Nice job luring these idiots over here. As a reward, Gol said that you get to boss us around for this fight.”

“Why, whatever could he mean by that?” Anthony says in a dull voice, surrounded by numerous burly men atop mutated dogs.

Suddenly, a group of shirtless men wearing the same trays as you from atop similarly mutated animals arrive from the east and west with stoic eyes.

“I’m sorry fellas… I agreed to help them out first…” On cue, as you finish saying this, numerous soldiers on bikes surround the formerly surrounding warriors.

“Oh, we know.” Anthony says calmly. “Strelok told us everything, you lying deviant!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cETBCvKnu0Q

Your heart drops. Another wave surrounds you from the East and West. Another wave. ANOTHER WAVE.

You thought you had it all under control, but you let a spanner in the works alter the course of the plan entirely.

“Oh shit.” You hear one of your men say.

“TO BATTLE!!!” The Shepherd on the burliest mutant dog cries out.

Your mission now? Survive. Think, think, think. You have had lucky breaks so far. Make a foolish decision and this will be the end. Gol’s Boys are armed with molotov cocktails and spears. The Shepherds make use of clubs.

Green = Shepherds
Red = Gol
Black = You
Reds in Black = Your men.
Large Black = Airplane

What will you do, commander?

“EVERYONE ON THE LEFT. DROP YOUR bombs… Then CHARGE.” Your voice resonates throughout the battlefield. You refuse fear. You refuse despair. In that one moment, you become the embodiment of a leader. Without your cries, there is no way their morale would hold. You go beyond your tiny group, you take control of the battlefield itself.

Some men drop dead from the far left group’s charge, but the vast majority are enveloped in flames. Their steeds go wild as the pain of the flames burning their bodies destroys any ounce of discipline once trained into them. While this happens, their bodies, along with the giant wall of flames serve to frighten the group ahead of them, making them easy pickings to be speared down. They stab at the riders of the unwily beasts with barbaric efficiency.

“EVERYONE CLOSE TO THE PEOPLE ON THE RIGHT—CHARGE. EVERYONE ON THE RIGHT HOLD BACK THEIR AMBUSH.” You split your spearmen to handle the oncoming cavalry threat. With their pikes, naturally well suited to combat against such beasts, they easily drop every rider whose beast dares combat them, albeit with no shortage of casualties on their side.

“EVERYONE ELSE, CHARGE!” You take the field with your own small group of men and charge forward at the grunts with your mean, some using spears, others using their molotovs. What should have been an easy victory became far more difficult when you factored in the one man with a larger beast than most, who struck down man after man on his own with a large scimitar. Probably not coincidentally, Anthony was sharing his mount.

By the end of it all, the battlefield looks far more in your favor than it did at the start.

“HMPH. Impressive, Anthony gave me the impression that you were duller than this.” You stare in disgust at your former allies—now only corpses with their faces bashed in or heads lobbed off by the man’s scimitar. “For one so small, you have an innate talent for battle. Allow me your name and your heritage so I may know who I am going to strike down.

“Char! House of XXXstravagaza! But I ain’t the one getting cut down!” You hold out your spear in determined fashion, your entire body drenched from top to bottom in blood.

“Shizen Tatsuya! Former member of the Owari-gumi turned Fourth General of the Shepherds! Take solace in the fact that you know the man who will own your head!” No wonder he was so heavily armored… He was a defector from another faction!

There is enough distance between the two of you for you to predict where he will swing his sword and subsequently dodge the attack while getting closer to Gol’s Boys. You wanted to use the white artifact, but you neglected to equip. Though, you are skeptical that you would have been in the frame of mind to use it. It’s difficult to ignore all of your senses to focus on survival here—the smell of burning dog, the screeches of pain from man and mount alike, the excited screams of men who saw the reaper only to narrowly escape by your command. It felt like you were in a whole other world.

The remaining Shepherds are attempting to retreat. Shizen sees this and clicks his tongue in frustration as he realizes how outnumbered he is with his forces gone.

“Char,” he begins with a booming voice, “This is not the end! You have slighted us and we will not stop until Brother Earth has your head!”

Anthony can only glare at you. Shizen accelerates his horse then turns to retreat northward. Any last words you want to shout at before he leaves?

Charisma: 6. You have achieved the confidence to clearly state what you want and phrase your sentences in such a way that those with closed off hearts could get behind. Though you may lack the wisdom to detect a person’s desires, you are an overall mildly charismatic, confident person as a result of this momentous occasion.

Amidst all the shouting as you’re flung up and up, over and over, you hear a strange sound. Almost like a buzzer...but louder? The crew lets you down before chanting at a figure in the distance. As he approaches closer and closer, you realize that it’s Gol riding atop a bike without pedals! He stops in front of you all, revealing that the girl he was doing “fuck” with was riding behind him.

“Well you certainly made a mess and a fucking half, didn’t ya?” Gol rises from his seat, plastic bag in hand, the crowd clearing a path towards you. “What do you think, Lady?”

“Ugh, I’m thinking we should leave ASAP.” She replies with a shiver. “I’m gonna barf if we stay here any longer...”

“What do you mean? All I sees is a beautiful work of art here.” He spreads his arms to emphasize the brutal surroundings. You couldn’t say that you agreed. Nor could you say you disagreed. You think he would snap your neck if you did.

“Not gonna lie, junior, I half expected you to get yourself killed but the lookouts say you put on a fuckin’ show. Here’s your fair share of mags.” He tosses the bag towards you. “200 big ones there for you.”

“Thanks!”

“That ain’t it, though. I’m here to cut you a deal.”

“A deal?” You tilt your head.

“You seem like a good enough guy to me. Be a mighty fine guy if you got yourself killed in the wasteland. So I was thinking, why don’t you join us as a Junior Captain? We’re always looking for ballsy motherfuckers like you in our crew.”

“I dunno…” You rub the back of your head nervously.

“Relax, pal. You done good by us, I won’t lob your head off if you say no. But think about it. That town definitely has its Shepherds cleared out so you can set up base over there for protection money and control it however you like and you’d have a group of our guys to ask for help—all you’d have to do is ask.” He rubs the bottom of his nose. “‘Course, some of the other flag waving cunts are gonna have their sights on you since you’ll be repping me, but a guy like you can handle yourself. One time offer!”

“Alright! I’ll do it!”

“Great! Thought you’d want a round with Lady or something before you’d accept.” The woman on the motorcycle held out her middle finger. Goliath held out his hand, which you take with confidence.

“I dunno what that means but I’m glad I didn’t ask!”

He lets out another loud chuckle at your response, patting you on the shoulder. The survivors of the battle rally behind your decision

“You an’ me are bound for life now, brother. Do good by me and maybe you’ll reach captain one day ‘Til then....” He waves his arm from left to right in an extravagant fashion. “All of these boys are your team now. They’ll be at the town if you want them to do work for you or tag along to bash open some skulls.”

“Whoa! Thanks!” You’re happy you feel smarter and confident-er otherwise you’d be barfing in anxiety!

“Don’t mention it. C’mon Lady.” He returns to his self powered bike and rides off into the sunset, granting you your first taste of political power in the world.

2 months later…

You have situated yourself firmly into a leadership role. Your men are responsible for collecting magazines for protection money against bandits, though this ends up being around 30 mags or so a week considering how many people you have to pay off. Frankly, though, this whole thing has gotten to be pretty boring for you. That hole in the ground? Turned out it was a base where the Shepherds operated. No site of Anthony or even Strelok for that matter. Now, that you’re situated, however, you think it’s time to make some big moves! However, you took care of a lot of business over this time. Let’s go over it, shall we?

The town was known as The Shepherd’s Shanty before you drove out their influence. What did you rename it to?

RotField! It serves a dual purpose of commemorating your Father/Mother. But you also hired a second in command to manage things while you’re off having adventures of your own and join along if the town seems stable enough. What kind of person is he?

>A portly bandit whose sheer girth is matched only by his strength and laziness.
>An hotblooded martial artist with fists of steel.
>A pyromaniac who wants to see the world burn by his inventions.
>A former mobster not afraid to get his hands dirty. Rough around the edges and has a bad temper, but loyal.
>Custom, insert your own.

Note: You can provide an image for what they look like, otherwise I pick one myself.

Ex soldier, big strong and easy on the eye. A little dim and uncreative though.

That’s right! The brave ex-soldier, Dante. He’s so dreamy… But he’s also one of the few people you know stronger (and dumber) than you so you have to put him in his place! You aren’t sure why but you get this warm feeling inside your chest whenever he’s around that makes you wanna bully him.

Here are his stats:

STATS
STR:7
INT: 3
AGI: 7
CHR: 3
WIS:7

He’s not much of a thinker but he has a good grasp on the lands and their intricacies. He may not look like much, but he’s lived in this wasteland longer than you have and has the knowhow to show it.

That said, you find yourself in the hole in the town—which you quickly found out held a garrison. They said it was a bunker back when people were really paranoid about the apocalypse. And now… Well, that’s still sort of true you guess. So uneventful most of the time… You mainly spend time here dishing out orders and playing darts with the guys.

“Dante! Another Dart!” You bark, having missed the center a good 5 times at this point.

“Yes, sir…” He hands you three more.

You expected life to get way more exciting. Welp, no point in complaining. You have power now, it’s time to make a change. Where do you start? You are wise enough to know that you have to be on the offensive. You might be little now but when you grow up you might get vavoom like Lady. Who knows how life’ll shape out for you then?

Your 15th birthday’s 2 months from now. You haven’t been more worried to grow a year older... No time to waste! What are you gonna do? Your boys have a map plotted out of all the areas they know of. It’s not everything, obviously. More will be revealed if you have them scout the places out.

Note: Nothing spots can always have events, so exploring them isn’t always a waste of time. Leadership options take one week to complete.

Leadership.
>Have scouts investigate a spot. (Format is “(Letter)(Number)
>Have scouts explore to the south. (Unlocks New Areas)
>Have scouts spy on enemy faction territory.
>Have men survey the area for enemies.
>Other.

Personal:
>Leave Dante in Charge to head out. 30 potential men in the bunker to take with you if you so desire.
>Have a man listen for rumors on your behalf.
>Survey the area for enemies.
>Train a stat. (Can be done in conjunction with a Leader Option).

“Ah!” You hit your mark dead center as an idea pops into your brain. “I got it!”

“What is it, bro?” One of your grunts asks.

“It’s simple, if we wanna make this town super strong, then we gotta get started on a project!”

The men stare back at you, not really understanding what you mean.

“It’s simple. If we wanna beef up, first we gotta start on our defense. We can make these—these holes in the ground and these huge towers on every single side so we can see when people wanna strike back at us!” You place your hands on your hips. “We’d be unstoppable!”

“Boss!”

“That’s genius!”

Your energy is infectious, all the men in the room start cheering with excitement. All except for one.

“Uh…” Dante wonders aloud, “Where are we gonna get all the wood? And who’s gonna dig it all? And who do we get to build the towers? We ain’t exactly got building experts here. Sounds like this’ll take a long time… Maybe four or five months.”

Bah! That guy was only ever Wise when he wanted to kill the mood. Still, he brought a lot of good questions to light. How will you handle this endeavor?

Where are we getting the wood?
>Raid Shepherd ranches for wood.
>Send men to chop down wood from the Anomaly Forest (A1). You may go with them to expedite the process or look for artifacts.
>Other.

Who’s gonna dig it all?
>Hire the homeless of the town to dig for you at low wages.
>Your men will dig it all.
>Ask the bartender for a loan so you can hire quality workers from other towns.
>Capture bandits and force them to dig for you.
>Other.

Whoever you choose, you will have to consider how you will keep their morale up if you want the digging to be done efficiently!

Who will build the towers?
>Ask Doc. He must know how… He’s like a scientist, right?
>Scout nearby areas on the map for information on carpenters.
>Ask Goliath to cut a deal with the Owari-gumi, they are known for having good buildings.
>Other.

Hey guys, I figured I would let you know. I'm not really feeling the story any more so I'll be ending it for now. I might revive it one day but I'm not super motivated at the moment.

It might come back after school ends or when I have a few less writing projects. That, or a new historical story I've been studying for. Thanks to all of you for supporting this, especially you two jGw2+sh6 and z7w739ri. You guys are fucking bros. See ya, hope to run another story for you soon.))
