Hey guys, let me know when you get here!

***

Taking advantage of having (a) Lyann stay at home all the time, we ask her how things are going over there.

"Ah..." She freezes for a moment. "Well, nothing has happened that your parents want me to tell you about."

Hm?

"I'm sorry love. Can you repeat yourself?"
"I really would prefer not to?" She says as she makes her way to the stove and starts brewing some tea. "Ah, you know, Stella has been asking when you are going to go 'play' with her."

>Please do repeat yourself, anyway.

Lyann lets out a relieved sigh, and both Aritsu and Dawn stare at her. The princess lifts an eyebrow and flicks her ears, while Dawn just gives her a 'look'.

The redhead looks away from them.

"Well, we should go back to Alquia first, and let Mako know of how things turned out in the end, first."
"Ah, that is certainly true." Aritsu agrees while looking at us. "It looks like the governor did an honest job, if not a great one, thus someone else can finish going through these papers."
"Yes!" Dawn lets out

And so, we head over to cuddle with- I mean, to report to our beautiful empress before we run off to play with our puppymouto,

Well, it is a little before sunset, so she's already done with work for today, and as we [Treestride], go up to her room, and look for her, we find Sykia working on the floor, sitting on her heels, knees wide apart as she examines the ore and wood samples in a basket.

Hm? Well, it is good that she's gotten used to sitting like 'a proper pet' without having to be told, but ...

"Hey, hey, shouldn't you drop that to greet me when you see me?" We chide her gently after Lyann helps us remove our coat and stores it away
"Ah, master, welcome home~" She says with a shameless smile
"What are you doing?"
"I'm checking some semi-precious stones. They're soft, smooth and much lighter than actual ore, so I was thinking in using them to make some fun toys. We have rubber now, but there's no plastic."
"Just so you know, I'll test anything you make on you before using it on anyone else."
"...r-right." She nods "Lyann told me you wanted to bump Aritsu's and Dawn's plugs a size, so I wanted to ask you for any further specifics?"

"Specially the one for Aritsu, she really likes it when my cock pushes her vaginal wall against the plug in her ass..."
"P-president!?" Our elfie goes apple red in no time flat.

Cute

"Ah, got it. So maybe some (blunted) spikes on the underside of it. Not too many, though, just enough to push against you from across her flesh." She nods nods in understanding

We talk about it for a bit, and our elfie has an embarrassment meltdown, falling on her ass right in the middle of the room, her pretty face covered with both hands as she refuses to look at anyone.

"Eldric, welcome home." Mako's soft, calm voice comes from the right, and sure enough, she is coming in from the bath, wrapped in a large, fluffy-looking robe, her midnight-black hair shining with a bit of moisture.
"Hm. Mako is so pretty again today."

We walk over and kiss her, holding her fingers with our own so she can't flee from us, then move to hug her instead.

"Up we go..." We pick our beautiful empress. It isn't a princess carry. It is an empress carry.

She feels cool and cuddly in our arms, fresh-off-the-bath as she is.

"Eldric...!" She smiles happily, so we kiss her.

Moving to the bed, we sit down with Mako on our lap and proceed to kiss and caress her, letting the towel fall off her body to the floor and continuing to enjoy her soft, feminine figure for a good while.

"Ah~!" Her whimper as she cums is such a sweet, girly sound.

Our beautiful empress trembles softly within our arms, our hug keeping her straight as she sits on our lap.

"Ah... Eldric,.. wait, y-your fingers...!" She whimpers softly as our fingertip rubs gently against the delicate pink star.

Uhmm... its just a couple of weeks until the wedding, maybe it is about time we start breaking in her little star...

Ugh, power went out TWICE for a second while I was typing and lost a long post, so I apologize, but im gonna rush this one.

Also, sorry for the faux rhyme style, I was arguing with a friend in rythm and it stuck.
***

"What about them?" We chuckle against her lips, then kiss her as she tries to reply.

We caress her lips with our own, making her gasp and moan whenever she tries to speak. Our fingers caress and tease until she is trembling in pleasure, and as she rests, her chest moves up and down with uneven haste, each breathless gasp causing her perfect bossom a shiver, and even more so as we move down along the bed, pick from behind the knee her leg and kiss at it, our lips roaming down her smooth thigh towards her dew-covered flower.

Seeing the straining fabric in our pants, our redheaded love slave comes forth, and quietly volunteers to our passion devour. She undoes our clothes and begins the passionate worship of our manly length, though not for long, for our raven-haired empress has recovered enough to look down at us, and stop her.

"Lyann, no." She says simply. "We will do that ourselves."

The redhead pauses and looks up at her mistress, then nods.

"We have yet to try and learn of Eldric's taste." Says our beautiful heavenly princess... no, Alquian empress. "But he will forgive our inexperience, we hope." She looks at us

Of course, we don't mind at all! And with a slightly surprised nod, we watch her as she stretches down on the bed by our side, her beautiful face approaching our lenght as we fill with anticipation.

And indeed, Mako is such a smart girl. Such a fast learner!

It is later while we are cuddling that she finally listens to our report, and happily informs us of our new title. It will be a couple of weeks to the ceremony of investment, but we will be made marchis of the eastern border, with an obligation to defend and rule the region betwen the Gorgon Gulf and the Moha swampland.

That way, there should be no impediment to her taking us as consort.

"Hmm...!" Our cute and beautiful empress lets out the most delightful moan as she stretches up against us as she stretches looking for us in bed

"Lyann, look after her, alright?" We kiss [Mako's] Lyann as we finish dressing up.
"Of course, Master."

After cuddling Mako to sleep, we got up, took a bath and had Lyann help us dress up.

"Ah, is it alright if I stay?" Aritsu asks us as she looks towards the bed.

I wonder if she's tired? Or does she just wants to cuddle up with Mako too? Well, knowing our hard-working elfie secretary, she probably has some good reasons... well, it'd be nice if she just wanted to cuddle Mako, too.

"Alright. Tell Lyann when you want me to pick you up, then?"
"Ah... I'd like that right now, but I have to finish and deliver my thesis..." She bites her lower lips and folds down her ears. She looks really cute.

Hn. So that's why she wants to stay. Well, sounds like a perfectly fine reason, sure.

"Alright, just let me know."
"Yes, president." She stands to her tiptoes so she can kiss us.

As we arrive at Stella's, we find her already in bed... well, there's a big time zone difference with Alquia, and Stella's a good girl, so its only natural, really.

She's sleeping nakes under the sheets... this silly girl...

Her sleeping face looks just so cute. She's sleeping on her side, and hugging a large pillow with both arms and legs after kicking off the sheets... alright, let's get on the bed with her.

We have Lyann(s) help us strip, and crawl in behind our delicious brown girl, then gently squish against her small back and wrap our arms around her.

"Waa~" She smiles and pushes back against us in her sleep

Let's nibble on her ears a little bit... ah, she flicked them. Her tail is ticklish, too.

"Hmm..." We give her a little squeeze
"W-waa?" She complains gently in her sleep

Our hands move over her body, gently caressing her hips and cupping her breasts. Come think of it, they're not the largest among our girls (that honor is Mako's and Ren's), but they are the second largest, and definitively the largest relative to her height.

Ah, a little milk drop showed up when we squeezed on her breast.

We give our cute puppy a little squeeze, and enjoy watching her smile in her sleep.

"Big brother... big..." She mumbles as she smiles and squirms softly, tightening her hug on the large pillow
"Hey, hey, its not fair. Stella is too cute." We smooch her shoulder and neck, and she chuckles softly

Ah, she's really dripping... well, we can't let her have an accident in bed, can we?

She lets out little cooes as we lay her down on her back, then pouts when we take her pillow from her. Well, she calms down almost as soon as we start kissing her, though, and our lips slowly make their way down her chocolate-colored body to one of her pink spots.

'Ah, she tastes sweet' We think as we gently drink from her.

She calms down and smiles with a goofy look, relaxing and letting us do with her as we please.

"You were pretty full, weren't you? Stella, you know how to milk yourself already, don't you?" We chide her gently

Oh, she pouted. I guess she can sort of hear us.

Well, now she's a little lighter. She really looks like she is much calmer now.

Yup, let's smooch her.

"Waa~" She cooes happily after the little kiss

Yup, cute. We lay down next to her, and she rolls towards us in her sleep, then clings to us with arms and legs... hey, we're not a hug pillow, you know?

Well, it's alright. Because she's cute.

Hn... this is super comfortable... she's super soft, and cuddly... and warm...

Both (Stella's) Lyann and (our) Lyann sit together to look at us as we fall asleep next to Stella.

Hey, you are smiling in stereo, you know?

Ah~

We are being kissed. Its a very soft but happy kiss.

"-g brother...?" A happy, warm voice is calling to us

As we wake up, Stella is lying on top of us, looking down on us as she smiles. Uuuh... she looks really happy.

That's right... we fell asleep.

"Good morning." We greet her and caress her sides gently

We hug her tightly, givng her a warm squeeze as she chuckles and giggles happily.

"Awawa~ big brother, good morning!" She chirps happily
"Morning."

We give her a little kiss, and another, then squeeze her some more.

"B-big brother, m-my breasts, you're squeezing my breasts..." She complains softly, her large, firm breasts squished between us.
"Hn. Alright."
"I-if you understand, then don't squeeze me anymore!"
"Hn. Alright."
"Meanie!"

We hug her and smooch her for a bit more before finally letting go. She adjusts her position on top of us and lifts her upper body unto her elbows so she can stop squeezing at her breasts.

They're spilling forth. Its a little erotic.

"Hn.. you're full of milk again?" We grab one and give it a little squeeze
"Ah!"
"Stella's really soft and warm."
"Hh... bi-big brother, don't squeeze so hard..."
"I'm not? Just a little more..."

We caress her back with one hand and kiss her, enjoying her comfy warm on us, our free hand gently groping her breasts all the while.

"Lets sit up, I want to milk you now."
"Alright."

We sit and pull her into our lap, then hold her waist as we lean in to suckle from her.

"Ah... big brother looks like a baby doing that... " She cooes as we starts drinking 'straight off the tap'
"Hn. It really is better in this position, after all."

She looks at us a little confused, but is happy to get to cuddle in the morning.

Once we are done with that, we have her get on all four. We admire, caress and kiss at her shapely back, then take a firm grip of her hips with one hand so we can remove her plug with the other. There's a little 'pop' as we pull the plug from her, and then she lets out a loud, long moan as we gently move in to replace it...

"B-big brother... h-hot!" She cooes softly as we finally sheath ourselves in her.
"Stella is hot, too, and soft, and pretty."

We lean in and smooch at her cheek, then start to move gently while kissing her. With slow, long thrusts before pulling back in a rush, we make our imouto shiver until she cums loud and clear, her body arching down as she lowers her back and tightens her grip on the sheets, our seed pouring inside her in hot, short bursts.

"Ah... ah... I love you." She pants softly
"I love you too." We lean in and hug her

After a few more rounds, we finally leave the bed and move into the bath... well, we end up making love there too, so we are all having a late start today.

They were all buff, high-level adventurers because plants grow up as monsters, and outside of dungeons, they start as high level mobs.

They don't start as high level mobs, they just grow really fast to compensate for not being able to move. Anyway, with Fleur and her daughters, we could... no wait let me rephrase that. We could have Fleur and her daughters work as plant shepards, basically. Or even have them directly provide fruit, sap and nectar to actual farmers.

You know, I've been thinking in writing a light-hearted sci fi novel where humanity used bat DNA to benefit from their ummune system (and fly?). Bats are the only mammals with true flight rather than just gliding, and unlike birds who fly thanks to air bags inside their bodies making them lighter than they should be, and hollow bones for the same effect, bats have evolved at the cellular level, with mitochondria that generate a lot more energy than in other species so that they can swing their wings and fly. This generates a lot of heat, which causes them to be in a constant fever-like state, which causes them to constantly fry diseases inside them... and that's why bats are a pool of disease. To compensate for their natural high temperature, their immune system is much milder when it comes to fever, or they would dry themselves.

Their regular body temperature already simulates having a fever, which controls diseases in them. The corona virus for example, is a problem for us because our normal temperature isn't nearly as high, so the virus basically has no trouble exploiting our bodies, while in a bat, if not completely erradicated, it is at least contained. And the same is true of a lot of other diseases, again, because bats basically have a constant high fever, naturally.

So what if in order to catch up to new viruses and bacteria, humans used bat DNA to, instead of playing catch-up with new diseases as they come up, just become a much more hostile environment to them?

I was thinking of a future after bacteriological war, an Earth where disease has forced organisms into extinction or adaptation, and hmm... not sure if these would count as Homo Sapiens still? They're not so much a rescue as they're a replacement. Anyway, gives me a chance for hot and cuddly monster girls, I guess, because you know I'm such a person and would write them in. Anyway, should they have wings?

Also, it amuses me that anon thinks a week is enough to catch up on this thread.

Didnt see any other vctes, so I guess we're going with this.

And so, we are going to visit the owner of the workshop that makes the crates. Curious how such a conspicuous thing as simple wooden crates can make such a big difference when you think large enough.

Their house is quite large, but not quite a manor. Or to be exact, their family has purchased four houses, taken down the fences between them, and so has a massive garden with four individual, medium-sized homes at each corner.

"Ah, this looks rather nice. Since they built a paved stone platform and a fountain in the middle, I wonder if they use that for parties?" Our puppy imouto comments as she looks at the property.

That's actually very interesting. Personally I say that the majority shouldn't have wings, but because of the high energy thing they can run faster and maybe some feats of strenght as well because of it.

"That would be nice. You can lift a large tent overhead if you want protection from the sun, too." Lyann points out some melon-wide holes at the corners of the garden, probably used for just such a thing.

We wait for Dawn to dismiss the driver and the coach, then walk forth into the property after the servant girl that welcomed us at the door.

For a change, its a human servant. She doesn't looks like a maid proper, so maybe she's a maid's child or something like that? She doesn't has a collar, either.

"The mistress will see you soon. Please wait for her here." She exaplains as she guides us into a drawing room.

We thank her, and take a seat. Lyann and Dawn stand next to our seats.

"Ah, this carpet..." Stella takes a seat in the couch's middle, and seems interested in the carpet at the middle of the room.

Indeed, it looks so well made we can't make out the individual fibers. Is it silk? We have only ever seen silk used for clothes before, and only rarely.

Sure, we imported several rolls for master Tazar to make clothes for our girls with, but that's pretty much it.

"Do you fancy it, young lady?" An elderly woman walks into the room, followed by a woman dressed in an impeccable maid uniform. "It was a gift to my dear husband, from a client from the eastern shore."

We exchange greetings as the old lady introduces herself as lady Rani Fairwind, the owner of the craftsman shop we want to make business with.

As we speak with her, it turns out that yes, she is the one that sent the coach as a gift to Stella. She inherited the company after the death of her husband, and isn't really used to running things. It seems there was no particular malice in her gift, she just wanted to create a good impression.

Ah, also, these 'new humans' (Homo Sapiens Novis?) are restricted to the colder regions since their bodies are naturally weak against heat, so the tropical areas have seen a development of new sapient species.

That's if I wanna go with a Fallout-like, post apocalyptic sci-fi setting. May also go further into the future after they're already integrated into a multi racial society, im still not sure.

I see. It wasn't actual malice or deviousness on the part of the one doing it, just a lack of knowledge about business practice. It does imply she researched at least enough to know Stella didn't have a coach of her own, though.

Uhmm... in that case. let's make it into a present exchange, instead. Let's see... we have plenty of valuable stuff we have looted over the years.

Uhmm... looking at our [Inventory]... there's the staff and jewelry we bought for Zoe's 10th birthday in a week, and all the fancy clothes we've bought for all our cute fiancés, so maybe some valuable raw materials?

Hm, as if I could give away my cute daughteru's feathers! Well, I guess the dragon scales are okay too, but maybe we can find a use for them. The [Ant Shell]s are... quite a lot, and we're getting more all the time. Plus they are moderately valuable, but a lot of them... yes, these will probably make a good gift.

"Lady Fairwind, your gift was too generous." We explain. "It could be misinterpreted when looking at it from outside. Could we impose on your and have you accept a gift in return, to avoid misunderstandings?"

We explain the situation, and the lady seems quite understanding and apologetic. She happily accepts our gift, and after having us for lunch, thanks us for our visit and sends us home with some local pastries.

"Waa~" Stella is happily omnomnoming on a cupcake on the way back. "What a nice lady"
"I guess she is, but please don't be swayed just because of the cakes..." We rub her hair as she smiles

Well, it sure is nice that there wasn't any big dramas on this business. It should be about morning time in the Eopolis and Alquia time zone now...

For a change, we're the first to arrive.
Shortly afterwards, Okaba, then Sykia, and Asmund shortly after.

Our tall winged friend greets us politely, and asks if we are going to hold on to his cousins for much longer.

Crap, we hadn't let them go... well, in truth, its only been about four days longer than expected...

"No, not at all. We are done, so they are just resting, then I'll treat them as guests for a few days so they can do some gift shopping and enjoy the sights." We say quickly
"We understand, that sounds like a good opportunity for them to learn about different cultues. We are appreciative for it."
"No, no, the one that was helped, was me."

Our friend nods, and fills a tea pot with fresh leaves, then places it on top of the brazier. Its a little surprising to see a king prepare tea, but there's no reason he wouldn't know how to, I guess.

"Once lord Asmund arrives, we can go over the finished mass models." He says

I know that King has argued before that we should be more lenient on our grandfather, and Tapac, because they were only doing what they thought best for protecting everyone.

And I say that's too forgiving of an attitude to take for the damage that they were going to cause.
1. their plan called for a majority of the sick, children, and pregnant women to die in Eopolis.
2. their entire plan involved modifying a shield generator, which they didn't know how to fix, to perform a function it was never meant to do, and there's only 1 generator; if it fails then the entire Keep gets overrun
3. they never tested any of this, only going off of what they read
4. and speaking of what they read, they have the entire Lightbringer Archives, that they didn't read on how to build more lightning ballistae or shield generators, in the decades that Grandpa has had, and the literal centuries that Tapac has been around.

And in the 10 years that we've been preparing, we've stopped [ERROR] incursions while the old men kept breaking the shield generator even further.

>their entire plan involved modifying a shield generator, which they didn't know how to fix, to perform a function it was never meant to do, and there's only 1 generator; if it fails then the entire Keep gets overrun
Is it a magic shield ? And overrun by whom ?
>>
>>4255552
Yes, it's an ancient magic shield generator. The manual for it is likely in the archives somewhere, but they didn't bother looking for it the past 30 years or so.

And overrun by the [ERROR]'s.
Their plan was that, because the shield stops the [ERROR]'s, they'll supercharge it by sucking up the life energy of everyone in Eopolis (killing anyone who's too weak, like all of the babies) so much that the shield will grow big enough to reach the Portal that the [ERROR]s are using to enter this world. The interaction of the shield with the Portal will cause the Portal to close forever (which no one has tested, and doesn't make sense when the Portals open up at pre-determined times).

Yes, it was designed as a dam against invasion. Its basically a universe wrapped around "elsewhere" and the world was designed this way to fuck with the invaders as much as possible. For example, any creatures coming into the world starts at lvl 1, so no matter how powerful they are in their own universe, when they come to invade, they are set to level 1. The [ERROR] thing is a forced label since they are not 'meant' to be there, so the [SYSTEM] running the world assigns them an error code to further weaken them and making it hard for them to level up.

Basically this universe is meant to fuck with their invasion plans in every possible way, which is important because time passes faster in their universe, so while we have 10000 years of prep time between invasions, they have x100 that same amount of time to prepare, so every advantage is important.

They can move through artificial structures, but not through living matter, which is why we're building walls with monster plants, and they also can't move through 'emotionally charged' structures, which is why our family has a tradition of sending errant knight corps to save people across the world, and ask for a stone (brick) as reward to build the fortress walls with.

Well, its basically a flood of monsters when it does happens, in a universal flood scale.
>>
>>4255713
like a buwark against Tyranids ? I'm getting the idea
>>
>>4255728
More like Cadia vs the eye of terror, I guess? Since basically time works however the gods want it to work in the warp so each Black Crusade is limited in gear only by Failbaddon's patience.

Anyway, making them lvl 1 "because all creatures new to the world are level 1" is probably the biggest way to fuck with them. Its why they typically use infiltrators and parasites to try to convert the locals instead. But this time the MC stopped that, three times, so they're down to "let's flood them with monsters".

Well, the portals can only be opened in predictable locations at predictable times, so means each time we had more than 1 army waiting for them.

The next wave should be the final wave for another 10000 years. Grandfather wanted to close the gate permanently but that required the sacrifice of a city of millions, which is why the players really don't like that plan.

Anyway, waiting for 1 more vote

Okaba nods, and looks behind us towards the door as Sykia walks in, wearing a long, open lab coat that floats around her as she walks.

Well, she looks quite nice in it, but we didn't give it to her... ah, well, she's a succubus and that looks close enough to the Hêven-traditional succubus clothing that we can probably guess it must have been Aura or, maybe, Okaba that gave it to her.

"Master, it is rare to see you here so early." She greets us
"Time zone difference. Sometimes I am getting up when its already noon here, sometimes hour sbefore dawn. This time was lucky."
"Your pet understands." She nods as she greets Okaba, then heads over towards the back of the lab and starts preparing things over one of the heavy work tables there.

Shortly after, Asmund walks in, carrying a metal tube in his left hand, sealed at both ends. He is wearing a rather elegant, well cut grey suit which contrasts quite a bit with Okaba's vestments (as he follows a more arabian style), and of course, Sykia's simplistic robes.

He greets us and then hands his hat and jacket to his sister for her to take to the coat rack by the door. He looks quite content just to see her, but doesn't actually speak to her at all.

"Since we are all here, let's discuss the finished model." He says, and waits for our confirmation
"We were waiting for you." Okaba nods

We head over to the work table where Sykia has easily placed the lightning ballista, and together with our friends, we start checking the weapon.

Again, this is one of the mass-production models, so its not as if we can make any adjustments any more, but perhaps we could work on improvements for future models.

"It is strange, to think of a weapon with a damage value inependant of its user." Asmund comments while looking at it. "After this war is over, it will change our idea of weaponry, but I cannot tell if divorcing firepower from the level of its user is a good or bad idea."

"I... suppose you are right." Says our vampire friend.
"Well, after this battle is over, we can start planning on what to do with the leftovers," Contributes Okaba. "I trust you have no intentions of hogging them, Eldric? Ah, should we call you duke, now?"
"Please don't. And well, we could move one to different frontier outposts to help defend against monster raids."
"We can do any number of things with the existing ones. I think I am not immodest when I say it took the brightest minds to design these, so I am not worried about some random tinkerer making them small enough to count as concealed weapons. I am only concerned with some future warlord mass producing them and trying to go on a conquering spree, so we should look carefully over the workshop workers producing them." Asmund speaks while looking towards Sykia

Right. She's already guilty of handing modern Earth weapons to just such a character, which is why we made her into a pet, so we could be certain she wouldn't do such a thing anymore.

"I thought you were big on personal responsibility?" Okaba calmly goes to pour himself more tea, and Dawn rushes to do it instead
"I believe in personal consequences for breaking society's rules. The state should be strong but subject to its citizen's review. It counts as an individual in that way."
"Don't start arguing politic again. You never agree at the end." We stop them. "For now, let's worry about placing these on the walls and making sure the defenses are set up properly."

Before, we decided that, rather than focusing in defending just the keep, which houses the [Developer Console] in its bowels, we would try and defend the whole city and its people, which meant spreading our defenses over a huge area and many, many ramparts instead.

"Well, the way the walls are set up, they should funnel the enemy towards 11 different kill zones, so let's place the lightning guns there." Suggests Okaba
"I think the infantry models will be good enough for ground defense. Soldiers are easy to move around. Fixed positions are immovable once set up. Let's equip them into our [Rockitship]s so they can provide heavy firepower where and as needed." Offers Asmund

>Equipping the strong points with the guns will help protect the people. We already decided to focus on that when we moved the defenses out from the keep, so let's do it as well as we can.
>Its not as if we know which way the [ERROR] flood will come from, so let's keep the weapons as mobile as we can. That way we can focus on them where needed and diminish how many make it to the walls in the first place.

Both Okaba and Asmund should have been informed about the [Plant] type monsters that will eat [ERROR]'s.

We need to order all guards and soldiers to take up the Beast Tamer Job and fill their Menageries with Plants.
And by using Breeding, we can create more Plants in our own Menagerie.
>>
Oh, and we can have our evolved Adama Pets use the [ERROR]-eating trait from the Plants.
>>
>>4255759
>Grandfather wanted to close the gate permanently but that required the sacrifice of a city of millions, which is why the players really don't like that plan.

Also to point out that, if the portals can and are opened at predictable points because it's the enemy creating those portals because that's where the world's walls become thinnest, then Grandfather's plan of closing the portal only works for this portal, and since it doesn't break the portal maker, the enemy would just create another portal in 10,000 years.

Or, they decide to use the multiple smaller portals to send their armies through, and just have them link up.

The entire plan, when you actually look at it, is stupid, and that's why players have made Eldric dismiss Grandfather as a stupid old man who was going to sacrifice thousands for no real gain, while also sabotaging the defenses that have been proven to work.

And Eldric is also demanding of Tapac, the family majordomo. He is a retired god who has lived as the head butler of the Lightbringer Family for generations, yet he has failed to have the Archives searched for the schematics and repair manual for the lightning ballista.
He had hundreds of years to search for it, but didn't, and that's why we had to scramble to reverse engineer our only remaining ballista to come up with a weaker mass-production model.
>>
>>4256155
>while also sabotaging the defenses that have been proven to work.
For anyone that doesn't remember:

Grandfather ordered the disabling of the internal teleport network in the Keep, which is part of the defense system.

He has been modifying the Keep's primary shield generator instead of repairing it, without having an understanding of how it operates and without the manual.

Neither he, nor Tapac, have done anything to repair the defense guns for decades. And Tapac didn't do maintenance for centuries. Such that the entire Keep is now running only on the passive defenses of terrain (the canyon surrounding the Keep) and the stonework of the Keep.
All other defenses, they haven't worked on. Not even the mundane ones, like the Gryphon Aerie and roost.
>>
The plan would have permanently reinforced the spot in the region and prevented portals from opening in that hex in the future. The problem is, it wouldn't prevent portals in other regions, and we already know that a portal opens on top of the Jade islands, Lapsiona, and the north of Mantequira already, so he was just plugging one hole and ignoring the others.

Anyway, don't forget we promised Portia to try and rescue her mom, so we still need to mount an expedition of our own into [ERROR] space to do that, which means we need to go to where they are strong, and there's no [SYSTEM] supporting our "levels". Its a much more "realistic" world that runs on regular old physics + a system of magic that is completely different from the one we use. The system that is such a head ache for them here, because it changes the rules of magic to something they don't know how to use, also fucks with us when we want to go over there in turn because we are used to things working in a completely different way from how they work over there.

"Well, let's equip the [rockitships]. I'd rather have an adaptable defense than an inflexible one."

Our friends agree, and while we talk with Okaba for a bit longer, Asmund heads over to speak with Dawn.

Aside from experimenting with the Pet sliders, there's a tribe of free Vampires in Mantequira, if I recall correctly. Having a vampire of our own might help when communicating with them, like with Fahima and the Salamanders, Crema and Mocha and the aurochkin, and Aurora and Kiana and the Succubi.
>>

We actually thought about how the portals are being made, made a hypothesis on the requirements, and where such events could occur elsewhere.

And lo and behold, there were multiple other portals being created.
If we had let Grandfather and Tapac go ahead with their plan, they would have killed thousands for absolutely nothing.

Both of those old useless fools should be made to apologize for the damage that they've done to the Keep's defenses, but they won't.
They're too proud to admit their mistake, too dumb and ignorant to fix it, and still too strong for us to MAKE them acknowledge their mistake.
>>

>a tribe of free Vampires in Mantequira
I don't remember that at all. Maybe you are thinking of native vampires who also happen to be citizens in general, since they do tend to join society rather than remaining as field monsters or nomads.
>>
>>4256301
They were listed as non-citizens, along with Draken and some others.
The Auroch were made into citizens due to us gifting a tribe of them with an island.
>>
>>4256325
Well yeah, but one of the very first things we did when we started helping revitalize Ren's empire was have language squares built pretty much everywhere to attract those nomad people's and add them to the towns and cities. IIRC we even had to decide if we wanted to build ethnic neighborhoods for them or have them assimilated into the existing culture of the empire, and we went with option #2.

That being said, we have never actually spoken with any of them. Also, didn't we have plans for that specific vampire girl?

Sorry for not replying, got distracted building a bathroom for Mako's palace in Conan Exiles. Pic related.

Why a pair? Its not like it will make a difference after we have Camilla spawn once.

***

"Ah well, I have a criminal you may use. Because she's in a party with the old monster back home, we can't really execute her. She'll just keep respawning, and by law we can't execute her more than once. Slavery is too risky since she may get rescued, too, so I'm hoping you can make her dissapear, basically." Asmund explains as he hands us some documents with the girl's information.
"Hm. Well, I've pretty much double checked, and people stops thinking about pets as people as soon as they're made pets. Whats more, they stop thinking of themselves as people, too, and it takes some effort for everyone involved to get over it."
"We had noticed. It took us some time being able to talk to your Sykia without feeling rather dumb while doing so." Okaba nods as he comments

Well, if these two had trouble focusing enough for it, most people have no chance, I guess.

(the keep) Lyann finally comes in, and quietly walks to stand next to our Lyann in silence by the door. Right, they don't really need to talk since they're the same person, really.

"Alright." We turn towards Lyann(s). "Can we trust you will see that the lightning guns get installed in the navy's [rockitship]s?"
""Of course."" They reply together, and nod politely

Ah, lab clothes Lyann and dancer clothes Lyann side by side are a rather refreshing sight. Anyway...

Yes, he was going to put up some flyers at the Sbastia Academy for a student, and they would be compensated well.
We told him that since we're giving the student disclosure on what we expect from her (taking her child even if she won't feel attachment to it) we will give her enough money that she could completely pay off her student loans or start a business.

Oooooh so that's what it says! Im too blind to tell so I've dumped the storyline and just had fun building stuff. Good to know.

And so, we acceoted Asmund's offer and [Treestride] over to Sbastia, coming out of a large oak on a side street near the commercial district.

"Bad food, cold and damp weather, stiff people and clean streets. Truly, home." Says Dawn as she blinks blinks and looks around
"I... don't see why clean streets would count as a bad thing?" Lyann looks at the blueberry maid with a raised eye brown.
"It isn't, I'm just stating the facts."

Indeed, as gloomy as the weather is this far up in the frosted swamps of the north, you have to admit. The streets are spotless. Also, there's public lamp posts even in this little side street, though of course they are off at this time of day.

Well, they're new. Asmund had them installed just recently, as part of his infraestructure projects for the magocratic city.

A figure clad in black robes from head to toe, looking at the world through a thick veil, walks by pushing a trash bin with wheels. It has a broom and a shovel attached to its side. The figure itself smells like herbs.

"I forgot to count the zombie sweepers. My bad." Comments Dawn
"Right, how could you." Lyann rubs her forehead gently. "Can we please go to prison now? I mean... you know what I meant."

>Well, it is a chance to do tourism. We haven't really ever had time to explore this place with leisure.

Sbastia is like Victorian England. What we need to do is bring them curry and other foods from around the world.

I wonder if the student we pick up would plead to become our lover, not for the money or status, but because of the food we always have available.

Yup

>I wonder if the student we pick up would plead to become our lover, not for the money or status, but because of the food we always have available.
Mantequira tea leaves (basically chinese tea).

The prison is an imposing building, several floors high, build somewhat like a coluseum, with a huge yard in the middle, and several watch towers surrounding it. The stairs are on the outside, exposed to the watch towers, so it is impossible to move from one floor to the next without being exposed to the guards.

Well, it is as dour and serious a building as it can be. Its not like we expected a prison to be a happy place, but...

It is really, really clean, eh? Nether it is the building's face or the grounds, it is spotless. As we show the documents at the door and are allowed in, the warden explains that Lyann and Dawn will have to remain outside.

Is it because he wants to keep our cute companions from experiencing the insides, or is it for some other reason? Security?

We follow the warden, a calm and small gentleman wearing a pale, light blue shirt under a black suit with a blue and black tie with complicated design. I guess he's just missing the cane and top hat...? Well, we're indoors.

"The lord Accussa has made the preparations beforehand." He comments. "I can't say I approve of simply handing a prisoner off in a private transaction. We are a penal insitution, not a slaver's market."

Starting a new game, in case anyone wanna play co-op with me. How's this for Ren? Sadly the next 'darker' pale skin is practically pink, but I guess now she can really be milky white.

As for hair, it could be this simple and long style, tightly pulled into a massive ponytail, or shaved -except- for the massive ponytail, which seems pretty sensible to me if you're living in exile in a desert, Easier to take care of, less hair parasites (if any), but she'd still get to keep her beloved long hair, or some of it anyway.

>>4269563
>>Your official opinion is praise-worthy, but you know this prisoner cannot be dealt with the normal way, correct?

"That... is correct. Which is the only reason I agreed to this."

We arrive at a guard station. It is a simple section of the hallway with thick iron bar walls on either side, and armed guards in the middle.

They ask for the warden's identification documents, which in a world with magic, seems to us like just sensible precaution. They also ask for a password based on two sets of criteria, a la X/Y, which the warden gives from memory.

"Thank you for your patience." Says the strong-looking beastkin guard as she lets us through.

I wonder if she's some type of deer? Her horns are tiny.

Anyway, it seems obvious to have female guards in the female wing of the prison.

"If I may ask, how are you planning on feeding the prisoner?"

Right, vampire.

"Well, I am acquainted with Lord Asmund, doesn't he simply use a [Mana Condenser] as a replacement for blood?"
"Does he? I am not privy to the lord's preferences, but most citizen vampires make private arrangements with their servants or masters."

>Well, as a pet, I don't -really- need to feed her. The system will take care of it. (Really, we just feed them because it feels normal for us)

"Well, we are here." The warden stops in front of a cell much like the ones around it.

It is clean, but looks rather cold, in many ways. The windows have metal bars and no glass, which in this weather must be quite cold, but glass + prisoner is probably an evidently bad idea. There are no curtains, either, and the cell door is made of thick, solid-looking metal bars as well.

We would easily be able to bend them to escape, but that's a different problem, obviously.

"How come she hasn't escaped? Can't all vampires turn into bats and such?"
"The cell is within a [Magic Null] field. All cells in this sector are."

According to her documents, her name is Callidora. She looks like a rather delicate young woman... well, her specialty was assassination with poison, and information collection, so she doesn't needs much brawn for that.

"Callidora Bluestone, a visitor," Calls the warden

The young lady looks at us, with a somewhat curious expression.

"I don't know the kid."

"Cute kid. So, why did you want to see me?" She sits on the bed to look at you.

She has a bed, a -short- paper screen that hides the toilet area within the cell (you can guess it probably hides only up to the waist. Seems sensible and more than you suspect people would get for privacy in any Earth jail), a heavy (attached to the floor) metal chest for her clothes, and nothing more. Her clothes are oddly reminiscent of the gothic lolita style you remember from your first life, though with more elegance and less playfulness. Its probably the fashionable thing for ladies in Sbastia right now? There were a few ladies dressed in a similar style in the streets.

"I'm your sentence. It has been arranged that you will become..."

"I'll need you to stand in a platform... give me a minute... warden, can I enter her cell? I assure you, I will be quite safe."
"Hmm... I do want to see how this will work out. She's not the only 'difficult' prisoner we have, and it may be a viable method... very well. Miss Bluestone, please stand by the far wall, hands against it. You know the procedure."
"...yes, very well."

She stands up, and struts over to the wall, where she places her hands against the wall while looking straight ahead. She stands quite straight, with zero playfulness about her.

Somehow, the stereotypical playfully sensual vampiress... isn't a thing.

The warden stands back, watching us work while keeping an eye on Camilla as we deploy the [Isolation Generator] inside the cell. Well, its just about enough space.

"Alright, now please step in this platform."
"...sure." She smiles, and turns towards us.

>>grab her by the throat

She lets out something akin to a small growl as she leaps towards us, the nails on her left eye bloodshot as she tries to get behind us. The warden starts pulling up his cane almost at the same time, but well... its as if they're moving in slow motion for us.

The [System] rolls initiative as soon as the 'fight' starts and our stats are just so monstrously above them that it is almost cliché.

We see them moving in slow motion, and Camilla's quickest lunge is just barely moving. From their point of view, we don't so much move as switch from crouching on the floor next to one of the field generators to standing in front of Camilla, holding her by the throat so just the tip of her feet can touch thr ground.

"Miss, don't confuse politeness with meekness." We explain calmly. "But well, I did need you to come over and step in the platform for me, anyway."
"Gkuh!?" The pretty vampire's shocked expression as she tries to slash at us with the stretched nails in both her hands to no effect, too, is quite clichéd.

Well, clothes are counted as part of our [Character Model], normally, so she wasn't going to manage to even cut our tie unless she was able to hurt us in the first place.

"Oh.. you are indeed quite capable." Says the warden as he calms down and lowers his cane.

That thing's actually a weapon, isn't it?

"Thankyou." We reply to him. "Well, I think it is a good thing that she's this enthusiastic. It shows you take good care of your prisoners."

It is indeed quite a typical development as she tries to slash or stab at our arm to no effect. We lift her with ease (she cannot possibly be more than 65 kilos or so? We can easily lift an order of magnitude above that, anyway.) and her feet aren't reaching the ground anymore, even considering her high heels.

Turning around, we place her on top of the platform, turn it on, and release her. She falls on her feet and tries to move back, but hits the nearly invisible energy wall.

"This barrier was originally designed to contain stupidly dangerous lab specimens, you know? I'm going to use another of its properties, but from the beginning, there's no way you can get out from that side without help."

"That would be quite useful in my line of work. Could I bother you with a budget, sir?" The warden is obviously interested.

Of course he is. He is in the business of keeping prisoners, after all.

"I doubt it could be used en masse. The cost would be too high, and the [Mana Condenser] powering the field draws on ambient mana to function, so too many in close proximity would only succeed at making each other malfunction, anyway."
"That is regrettable indeed."

Camilla tried slashing at the field, to absolutely no effect. You'd think there'd be sparks or at least some sound as she hits the barrier, but nothing of the sort occurs.

What does happen, however, is that as we focus on her, we can tell that she went from [lvl 75 Assassin] to [lvl 112 Vampire].

1/?
>>
>>4275168

"And now [Tame]!" We use our [Tame] skill on her, and she immediately calms down.

She falls down to her knees with a rather girlish "Kyaa!?" and looks and stares at us with a perfectly clean gaze.

Oh, she gives off a completely different impression like this. You can't see any of the malice she had up until a second ago.

[You have caught a [Vampire], would you like to name her? Y/N]

And there's the system prompt

>"Camilla will do."

And... oh, she has a little star next to her name, so she can be evolved already?

Right, she is over level 100 already, so let's see...

It appears [Vampire] as a monster class is similar to the [Succubus] in that is has a lineal evolution... [Vampire] [ Strigoi] [Neuntoter] [Varcolaci] [Nosferatu] [Unholy King], is it?

So, that means the vampires we meet are all at the basic tier. Well, higher monster tiers give better base stats and better stat gain per level, so its really not useful for civilized people's unless it has some actual physical changes, as it does for Succubus and Salamanders.

In Camillar's case, though, we're going to keep her as a pet from now on, so we may as well?

I want to see if her Rank [Gold] opens up new Evolution paths.

"Alright, that should do it..." We turn off the containment field
"Wait, is that-?"
"Oh, it is quite safe." We calm down the warden. "Camilla, kneel. Stand. Lift your right hand until I say so."

We have our new pet follow instructions to demonstrate her obedience, and are sattisfied as she does so with cheer and promptness.

"You see, the [System] lets her know she's perfectly safe now. She's being taken care of, and she has nothing to worry about. It is such an enveloping feel, it calms her down and predisposes her towards obedience. She wants to be a good pet, she doesn't wants it to end, to be freed. It horrifies her, and this sensation only grows stronger as time goes on."
"I understand now, why lord Asmund mentioned having had a hard time authorizing this... but, as a warden, it is my job and duty to keep criminals from society, and I think there will be a lot of discussion with the overseeing committer about the validity of the pet system as a 'correctional option."

We thank the warden as we leave the prison with Dawn and Lyann, stepping back out into the Sbastian streets.

"She's rather cute." Lyann leans in to look at Camille up close. "I think she has pretty eyes."

Im changing one stat... I started doing this hours ago and I honestly forgot what it was originally called... sociability? The stat that measured how well pets got along. I decided it was somewhat meaningless so I replaced it with Bond, which a "per case" stat.

For example, Fahima has Bond 100 (Lyra) and 70 (Tanis), while Sykia has Bond 12 (Tanis).

They get exclusive commands/abilities that they can use towards that specific fellow pet they have reached that much bond with. Still working on the review of the system.
>>
>>4282071
>sociability? The stat that measured how well pets got along
Sociability was originally not just for how well Pets get along, but how outgoing and social they are. This was supposed to be a generalized stat.

So you would want each Pet to have a Bond stat for every other Pet in the Tamer's Menagerie?
>>
>>4282087
Yup. I was thinking in having it give a simple damage bonus when fighting in the same party, but then thought it would be more interesting to add special commands. I wonder if the damage bonus would be better? Less book keeping this way, though, since I won't have to calculate the % every time
