In this quest you play as Wade Wakeman, a 17 year old boy with a heart of gold and the wielder of the Omnitrix! This story is being told in an alternate universe, in which there are no longer any remaining Tennysons. Characters from earlier seasons will appear, but not always in a way that you’d expect.

Shortly after Julie’s departure, a massive vessel, bonded with a Galvanic Mechamorph, rears its ugly head. This dreadnought class ship is extremely long, with sleek, smooth curves gliding down the sides and front of it. The mast is bulbous in shape, curving forward like a hook. Its very presence is oppressive in and of itself, and would likely be enough to make almost any fleet surrender upon its arrival. Perhaps they’d been hoping that it would have the same effect on you. They must not know you very well.

“What the hell is that?” you ask the Omnivore, now hovering alongside what you assume is her face.

“Don’t look at me. It’s my first time seeing it too.” D’vara declares, turning her multitude of eyes towards the vessel. “Those scheming scoundrels have been holding out on me.” she says while shaking her fist at the ship.

But as she does so, you notice the vessel turning its guns on you and preparing to fire. And as if it couldn't get any worse, a whole swarm of freshly arranged starfighters are flooding out of it.

What do you do?

>Have the Omnivore throw you at the capital ship while you engulf yourself in flames.
>Close the distance whilst evading incoming fire and take out its weapons with your fire breath.
>Switch to another alien. (Which one?)
>Create a combo with another alien. (Write-in.)
>Give an order to the Omnivore. (Write-in.)
>Write-in.

“Hey do you mind giving me a hand here? Or...a tentacle?” you ask the Omnivore.

“What is it now?” she inquires with a roll of her eyes.

“Ever heard of the Fastball special?” you question her with a sly grin.

“No, but I’m sure you’ll tell me.” she retorts. So you float over to her and whisper into what you assume is an ear, explaining everything about this fictional move that you’ve always wanted to try out. “Really? That’s it!? Why didn’t you simply ask me to throw you instead of wasting my time by explaining the entire concept of these made-up words?” she asks, clearly agitated by your reference.

“You wouldn’t get it…” you sigh. The Omnivore simply groans in response, before grabbing hold of you, winding her arm back and throwing you towards the capital ship with all her might. If it weren’t for your dense skin, the wind shear would’ve torn you to shreds by now. And in order to reduce drag, you’ve tucked your wings into your back and folded your arms and legs closer to your torso. As you carve through the sky and clouds, flying past the starfighters that were deployed to stop you, you spit out a massive fireball ahead of you, before flying into it and allowing the flames to engulf you once more, turning yourself into a giant fireball!

Shortly afterwards, your large, flaming body is sent flying into the side of the ship, punching a massive hole into the side. When the smoke clears, you’ve arrived in what appears to be a mess hall. However, it also seems to be filled with alien Bounty Hunters that have their guns trained on you at this very moment.

“Hold on, let me change into something more fitting.” you say, while slapping the Omnitrix symbol on your shoulder and morphing into Zipmunk. Just then, everyone in the mess hall breaks out into uproarious laughter. Seems like these guys are underestimating you. “Yeah, just keep laughing guys…” you mutter to yourself, while twisting your Omnitrix to the right. And with that simple motion, the hourglass symbol on the Omnitrix transitions to a dark purple biohazard symbol.

“G͓̜̪̐͆̈͝ͅo̺̳͌ȉ͖̺̩̋̈́̉͟n͕͉̂̊̃g̯̰͊͡ ̫̊͞V̗̗͑̚į̨̺̹͑̔̍̕ȑ̫̘̤̂͘a̮̳̻͛͛l̨̥̇͂

And in a burst of light, you feel an infestation of fleas biting at your flesh and absorbing the residual energy that you’re pumping out. You can’t get them off, but maybe you can make use of them!

You’ve become Viral Zipmunk!

What will you do?

>Send your fleas out to zap these guys!
>Wait for them to shoot at you, so you can absorb the incoming blaster fire.
>Dart around the room like a pinball and taze anyone that gets in your way!
>Unleash all of your energy at once and fry this ship’s systems! You’re taking this ship down, hard!
>Magnetize the metal trays in the room and use them to pin the bounty hunter’s to the wall.

You can’t afford to waste time with these guys. Gotta end things fast. And what faster way is there than flooding this entire portion of the ship with raw energy!

Of course, you’ll try your best not to fry everyone in this room, so you’ll have to direct the majority of the power into the walls, floor and ceiling, so you severely damage the ship’s internal systems instead.

“Time to crank things up a notch!” you shout. And before anyone in the room gets a chance to fire, you unleash all of the energy that you’d been saving up. In a bright flash of golden light, your surroundings are completely flooded by an immeasurable amount of electricity, the screams of everyone in the room, and the vicious laughter of a mad rodent.

“AHAHAHAHA!” you laugh mockingly while foaming at the mouth. You don’t know if this is just the rabies talking, but this is the most fun that you’ve had in a long time!

Shortly afterwards, the Galvanic Mechamorph reacts violently to your electrical onslaught, letting out a shrill scream and detaching itself from the ship in an attempt to create some distance between the two of you. It’s a good thing that you remembered their weakness.

Just then, you feel a massive shift in the ship’s infrastructure as soon as the Mechamorph separates itself from the vessel. The capital ship shrinks considerably, causing the walls to close in on you in the blink of an eye, threatening to crush you with the unnatural way that they warp and bend out of shape. Immediately following this is the sound of what you assume is a pair of sub-light engines exploding in the distance, throwing the ship off balance and off-course. If it weren’t for the static cling of your claws sticking to the metal surface beneath you, you probably would’ve been tossed around and thrown about this room like every other bounty hunter presently with you. Numerous explosions ring throughout the ship all the while, giving you a strange sense of satisfaction.

And suddenly, without warning, the entire ship stops moving altogether. The rocking motion is so unexpected that it nearly causes you to fly into a pile of metal trays. But as soon as you look outside, you immediately understand what transpired. The first thing that catches your eye, of course, is a gargantuan tentacle slithering past the porthole that you created in the ship’s side, followed by a massive eyeball that encompasses the entire room in shadow.

“Are you quite done yet?” the Omnivore asks. “I don’t have time to hold this all day.” she complains.

>”Can you hold it for a little while longer? I want to see who’s in charge around here.”
>”Why hold it when you can just eat it? Duh.”
>”Feel free to drop it in the ocean. These boys could use a little swim.”
>”Do you need help with those starfighters? It looked like there were a lot of them out there.”
>”Are you kidding? The ‘Great Omnivore’ is complaining? I’m sure you could keep this up for a year.”

“Feel free to drop it in the ocean. These boys could use a little swim.” you chuckle to yourself.

“Ooh! What a splendid idea.” the Omnivore says in a delighted tone. A few seconds later, you can see the ship being turned around, aimed towards a large body of water in the distance and tilted backwards. Looks like she just plans to chuck the entire thing. You’d better split.

“Adios losers. It’s been fun.” you say while giving them a half-hearted salute. “Well, it’s been fun for me at least.” and with one last devious chuckle, you fly out of there right before the Omnivore launches the ship into the ocean with a massive splash.

“Hmm. That was rather cathartic.” D’vara states with a satisfied expression. It looks like she’s dealt with the starfighters while you were gone too. Neat!

“Whatever happened to that Galvanic Mechamorph?” you ask, after having just remembered.

The Omnivore then proceeds to lift a tentacle towards you, and hanging on the end of it is the collapsed form of an injured Galvanic Mechamorph. He’s practically oozing off of her appendage. “Do you mean this thing? He tastes absolutely dreadful.” the Omnivore retches.

But before you can respond, you hear a slightly muffled explosion coming from below. And considering how high up you are, that’s more than a little unusual. Eventually, your curiosity gets the better of you and you decide to go check it out. And as you dart beneath the clouds, you immediately spot a large plume of smoke spiraling upwards, and it’s coming from the bunker.

Shortly afterwards, you manage to spot Grandpa, Kilik and Kay’n hastily escaping from the bunker.

“What happened!?” you frantically inquire.

“We got ‘em...but Julie and Gelaire are still down there…!” Grandpa says, struggling to catch his breath in between words. That smoke inhalation must’ve really done a number on him.

“The two of them are trying to be heroes by saving their enemies. Going back down there would be suicide.” Kay’n suggests, while maintaining a safe distance from you. You’re not sure how, but it would seem that she’s somewhat aware of the flea infestation that you carry in this form.

“The Amber Ogia was exposed to extreme heat, creating an extremely volatile reaction. That bunker won’t hold up much longer.” Kilik explains.

There’s no way you’re leaving those two to burn.

“I’m going after them!” you declare, right before darting down into the bunker at breakneck speeds. Without slowing down, you dart around corners, zip through small crevices and barrel through blockades. Nothing’s going to stop you from saving your friends.

------

Eventually, you manage to find both Julie and Gelaire, struggling to gather the injured Gourmet Guild members that they’d been battling.

“Guys! We need to get out of here!” you shout.

“Good timing! I need your help. We need to get these people to safety.” Julie states as she struggles to carry multiple people at once.

“The girl is right. All life is precious. And if we can help it, we should seek to preserve it.” Gelaire proclaims. However, she doesn’t seem like she’s doing too hot around all of these flames. Her semi aquatic biology must be a factor in her poor state.

What will you say?

>”You’re right. Let’s gather as many people as we can!”
>”There’s no time! This place is gonna blow any minute!”
>”Both of you get out of here. I’ll handle everything else.”

“You’re right. Let’s gather as many people as we can!” you declare. Your approval and support brings a bright smile to Julie’s face, but you’re having a hard time reading Gelaire’s expression. For the time being, you’ll assume that she’s happy about it too. “But if you’re that keen on staying, then we’re gonna need to stabilize this bunker and put out these fires.” you proclaim while timing out in a flash of golden light.

“Got it. I’ll do whatever you need me to do.” Julie proudly volunteers.

“As will I.” Gelaire weakly mutters.

Even after saying all of that, you’ve got quite a bit of work ahead of you. The Gourmet Guild members are scattered throughout the bunker, which is currently collapsing and on the verge of exploding at the moment. If you could somehow reinforce or create a support structure within the bunker, put out the fires or contain the volatile Amber Ogia, then you might be able to create a big enough time window to get everyone out of here.

What will you do?

>Transform into an alien. (Which one?)

>Cover up the Amber Ogia crates with metal shards from your suit.

“I need the two of you to get everyone out of here. I’ll handle everything else.” you proclaim, whilst selecting Big Chill’s icon among your Top 10 and slamming your hand down upon the Omnitrix’s core when it pops out. And in a burst of violet light, you become Big Chill!

As soon as you’ve properly relayed the information to both Julie and Gelaire, you spread your wings and take off down a long hallway within the bunker. Along the way, you breathe your frigid winds throughout the building, putting out any nearby flames and creating a layer of frost over anything that hadn’t caught fire already. Every now and again, you’ll come across a guild member, forcing you to stop and alert Julie to their location via technopathic communication. Her wearing a cloned version of your suit is proving to be rather convenient.

Once you’ve made absolutely sure that you’ve put out the majority of the flames, you proceed to reinforce the bunker’s structural integrity with numerous, well-placed ice pillars. It’s time consuming, but not nearly as long as it took you to finalize the evacuation procedure. Thankfully, things went faster when you stabilized the bunker, allowing the rest of your friends to come back down and help out. You love it when a plan comes together.

-----------

As you explore the lowest level of the bunker, you come across a little green Gourmand stuffing his face with partially frozen Amber Ogia from a crate that got tipped over. You recognize him to be your good old friend, Arthur. It doesn’t surprise you that he was somehow involved in all of this.

“This is all your fault, you know.” he states with bloated cheeks. “If not for your meddling, the Gourmet Guild could have become a galactic superpower! We would have brought order to the Fringes.” Arthur exclaims while flailing his arms wildly.

>”Looks like you didn’t learn your lesson from last time. Either way, you don’t win this. Not now. Not ever.”
>"You just wanted to be rich and powerful. Stop pretending to be the victim, here."
>"You quite literally eat people whole. I somehow find all of that hard to believe."
>”We’ll bring order to the galaxy soon enough. But you’ll be too busy doing hard time to see it happen.”

“And furthermore-!” Arthur shouts, before you abruptly freeze him solid with a single puff of your frigid breath. You’re honestly not in the mood for evil tirades or gloating for that matter. So without further ado, you snatch him up and fly back up to meet with your allies. You think the Omnivore is gonna like the present you got her.

-----------

As you exit the bunker, everyone’s attention is immediately drawn to the frozen Gourmand in your hands. While the rest of them seem visibly confused, the Omnivore is noticeably irritable. She’s also noticeably smaller than before.

Good work, son. Grandpa says with warm smile as he gives you a pat on the back.

“Arthur! I should have known…” D'vara says with a deep scowl.

“Wasn’t he the tiny butler from before?” Gelaire curiously inquires.

“I think he’s the one that captured me and Ship, too!” Julie angrily declares, with Ship beeping in tandem.

“You mean to tell me that this slimeball is responsible for all of this chaos?” Kay’n asks in disbelief.

“Man. That little guy sure does get around.” Grandpa says, sounding slightly impressed.

“Indeed. For a Gourmand, he is quite resourceful.” Kilik notes while clicking his mandibles together.

“Resourceful or not, he’s caused quite enough trouble for today.” D’vara proclaims as she snatches the frozen Gourmand from your hands. “Perhaps I should finally eat him and be done with it.” she mutters with a delightfully wicked grin.

“Oh no you don’t!” Grandpa interjects, snatching Arthur out of the Omnivore’s hands in the process. “This little guy could have critical information related to the Gourmet Guild. We need him alive.” he declares.

“He’s more trouble than he’s worth, Magister. No one would shed a tear if we looked the other way this time.” Kay’n states with a disinterested look in her eyes.

“Be that as it may, there is a chance that the Gourmet Guild might have stored Amber Ogia caches throughout the Milky Way. We do not currently know the full extent of their operation.” Kilik mentions.

“Then I’ll squeeze the information out of him! The rest of you can have the leftovers.” the Omnivore growls as she snatches Arthur away from Grandpa Phil with one of her tentacles.

You sense tensions rising between the two factions. Upon noticing numerous bone-like protrusions popping out of the Omnivore’s tendrils, you also catch a glimpse of the Plumbers reaching for their blasters.

“We should all take a moment to assess this situation with clear minds.” Gelaire declares with a convincing and relaxed demeanor, drawing everyone’s attention to her. “Now, I suggest that we continue this conversation in the dining hall from before, so that we may resume our negotiations.” she adds. And for some reason, Julie seems really impressed with Gelaire’s methods.

And for some reason, Julie seems really impressed with Gelaire’s de-escalation methods.

“...Fine. I’ll play nice...for now.” the Omnivore scoffs. The rest of you silently breathe sighs of relief. “But first, we must decide on what to do with my traitorous wretch of a servant.” she says while holding Arthur up and running her claws along the layer of frost that he's currently encased in. “X, what say you? What shall we do with this thawing, thieving snake?” she asks you. You’re not sure why she’s leaving this decision up to you, but you are sure about the “thawing” part. The ice around Arhur is beginning to melt.

How will you decide Arthur’s fate?

“Kay’n, Kilik, why don’t the two of you take a crack at him? You’re good at getting people to talk.” you suggest, knowing wholeheartedly what you're getting yourself into.

"Hmm, what a delightful thought~." Kay'n hums as she pulls out a considerably sharp, and structurally complex knife. "Care to join me, Special Agent Kilik?" she requests.

"If it will get the job done, then so be it." Kilik sighs.

"Wonderful! And here I thought that you were getting soft." Kay'n giggles. You've never seen her so excited for...well, anything.

As both Kay'n and Kilik approach the Omnivore, D'vara surprisingly hands the Gourmand over to them without much of a fuss. "Make him hurt. For me?" she sincerely requests.

"Oh, dear Omnivore, do you even have to ask?" Kay'n says with a slightly muffled laugh. The two of them seem to be getting along well enough, but for some reason that worries you.

As you tie up the remainder of the guild members, you find it difficult to drown out the faint screams that you hear in the distance. Along with them, your audio receptors pick up the sound of metal grinding against what you believe to be leather, and a high powered taser going off.

Eventually, both agents return from their little excursion, dragging Arthur's limp, bruised, smoldering, bulbous body behind them.

"What happened? Did he squeal?" Grandpa asks.

"Like a stuffed Warphog~." Kay'n chuckles.

"We've learned that the Gourmet Guild is currently negotiating with the Oryctini on Coleop Terra. They're still looking to expand their empire, even now." Kilik reports.

"And, it would appear that they've already sent scouts in order to harvest the miracle drug from Peptos I." Kay'n adds.

"Damn, they work fast!" Grandpa exclaims. “We’ll have to send someone to intercept them.”

"So instead of using me as a shield, those rats decided to use the coup as a distraction." the Omnivore deduces. "What a diabolical bunch." she grimaces.

"We have what we need. Do whatever you want with him, D'vara." you say while snatching up Arthur and tossing him to the Omnivore. She catches him effortlessly with one of her tentacles and flashes her fangs with a wide grin.

“A pleasure doing business with you.” she says with a small bow.

Now that you have the time, you and the others work on repairing your damaged aircraft. However, you notice that Julie and Ship spend a considerable amount of time interacting with the Galvanic Mechamorph that D’vara saved.

Once the repairs were complete, you stuffed the carrier with the remaining guild members and loaded everyone else onto the shuttles before flying back to Khoresh’s capital.

Upon landing in the middle of the city, the Omnivore personally escorted the rest of you to the dining hall that was trashed during the coup. Among the few servants that remained, they somehow managed to clean everything up before any of you arrived. It’s honestly hard to tell if these people were completely loyal to her, or if they were pretending to be after receiving news that the coup had failed. Either way, you and your allies have returned to renegotiate the terms of this treaty within the very heart of the Gourmet Guild’s treachery.

After everything that’s happened, you’re forced to rethink the Plumber’s decision to ally with the Omnivore. While she may be powerful and unexpectedly reasonable, she doesn’t seem to have a firm grasp on the empire that she boasted of. A good chunk of her forces have left her, and there may still be dissenters sowed amongst her ranks. That, and you can’t just ignore her willingness to work with bounty hunters and known criminals.

What will you do?

>Ally with the Omnivore. She will make for a powerful friend in the future.
>Support the Omnivore’s request for residency on Peptos I, but keep a close eye on her and her operations.
>Bring the Omnivore on as an advisor, and have her share her underworld contacts with you.
>Offer to provide support to the Omnivore, but refuse to form an alliance with her until she can properly reform her empire.

Before you make any rash decisions, you have a group huddle with Gelaire and the rest of the Plumbers. For the most part, it would seem like all of you agree on one thing. The Omnivore isn’t Galactic Alliance material. Not yet, at least.

“We have come to a decision.” Gelaire announces after loudly clearing her throat. “We would wish to offer you resources in order to grow and maintain your empire.”

“Wonderful! Then we should-!” the Omnivore excitedly states, before being interrupted by Gelaire once again.

“However, we feel as if the loyalty of your subjects is more than questionable. They serve you not out of love or respect, but fear and insecurity. Unless you can ensure that the Gourmet guild has no left spies within your ranks, then we cannot commit to an alliance with you or anyone affiliated with your empire.” Gelaire declares.

Clearly disappointed by your consensus, the Omnivore straightens her back, raises her head up and folds her hands, taking a more formal and collected posture. “So what is it that you are suggesting?” she asks.

“Take time to rebuild and get to know your subjects. Once you are absolutely confident that their loyalties lie with you and you alone, then we can negotiate the terms of an alliance at a later date.” Gelaire explains.

But instead of blowing up and eating everyone in the room, the Omnivore lets out a long sigh and closes her eyes. “I suppose that’s the best I could ask for after such an outrageous adventure.” she says with a dry chuckle. “Thank you for your time.” she adds.

And with that, the summit of the Galactic Alliance and the Gourmet Empire ended with a bang.

-----------

After exchanging contact information with the Omnivore in a surprisingly brief conversation, you and the others rendezvous with the pickup squad that arrived shortly after the summit’s conclusion.

But since Gelaire lives in a sector far away from your own, she and the mysterious Galvanic Mechamorph decided to take a separate shuttle.

“Thanks for your help, Gelaire. I know you didn’t sign up for all of this, but…” you trail off, feeling a tad bit guilty for involving her in this mission.

“You need not apologize, X. You are the only reason that I am still breathing. And I am sure that your friend is incredibly grateful to you as well.” Gelaire says while gesturing to Julie.

“Will we ever see you again?” Julie asks, seemingly saddened by Gelaire’s departure.

“Perhaps. If you ever wish to continue our conversation from before, then all you need to do is call my comm-frequency.” Gelaire offers.

“I, uh, I don’t have a communicator. All I have is a smartphone.” Julie confesses with slightly flushed cheeks.

“Oh my. We’ll certainly have to fix that, now won’t we?” she says with an amused expression.

(Cont.)
>>
The two of them talk for a while longer, while Ship plays around with the Galvanic Mechamorph from before. Shortly afterwards, Julie and Ship enter your shuttle and sit down alongside you.

“What was that about?” you inquire.

“...I’ll tell you about it later.” Julie says with a nervous chuckle. For the time being, you decide to drop the subject and wait until she’s ready to tell you about it.

Just then, you receive a message from the Omnivore on your communicator. It reads “It was a pleasure working with you. If you ever tire of working for the Plumbers, come find me. I could use a man of your talents.”

You’re genuinely surprised by this late message. At no point during that transmission did she deride or belittle you. Not even once. Now if only she could be that pleasant in person.

--------------

After you’ve left Khoresh’s orbit and entered hyperspace, you and Grandpa sit in silence as the others freely interact with one another. You haven't had a moment to speak to him in a long time. Before you do anything else, you decide to text the Omnivore back. After everything she did, it’d be rude to leave her on read.

“Thank you, it’s been a pleasure to work with you as well. If you ever feel like chatting, you know how to reach me :)” you respond.

Now that you’ve dealt with that, you can sit down and have a nice little chat with Grandpa. “Hey gramps, how’ve you been?” you ask. To other people, it just sounds like you’re addressing the Magister in a overly familiar and slightly disrespectful way. No one would actually think that the two of you are related.

“Been better, kiddo. I feel like I’m getting too old for this stuff. Maybe a comfy desk job is the right place for me.” he says half jokingly with a sly grin. “How about you? I’m sure you’ve had your hands full between this, managing things on Earth and crossing between dimensions. Still trying to wrap my head around that last one.” Grandpa sighs while leaning back in his seat and placing his elbows on top of his armrests.

“It’s tough, for sure, but I’m trying to make things work. Should be easier once we move into that mansion.” you state as you stretch your arms in front of you.

“You might retire before me at this point. Ain’t that a depressing thought.” Grandpa chuckles.

After sharing a quick laugh, you’re reminded of the fact that you have actual important questions to ask him. “Have you heard anything about the Roman Charges lately?” you inquire.

“Yeah, I have. Right before I came to get you, actually.” he confesses. “A few hours ago, someone marched right through their front door and took them all out.”

“Wait, what!? You mean…?” you gasp.

“No, they’re not dead. Just real busted up. Some folks are happy about that, but for some reason, I’ve got a bad feeling about all of this. We’re looking into it now.” he reports. “Security cam footage from the station should shed some light on the situation.”

You wonder who could have taken out the Roman Charges. Maybe a rival gang attacked them or some enraged mutant seeking revenge.

“Keep me posted. By the way, how’s that trial with the Galactic Council going?” you ask.

“It’s finally coming to close. And so long as none of the conclusive evidence goes ‘missing’, I think we can put all of those creeps away for a long, long time.” he says with a satisfied grin.

“Good. This trial has been going on for too long already. You deserve a vacation after all this blows over.” you state with a playful punch to his knee.

“Damn straight!” he laughs.

As much as you’d hate to interrupt this pleasant back and forth, you have one last unsettling question to bring up. “So...do the names ‘Flame Keeper’s Circle’ or ‘Dagon’ mean anything to you?” you nervously inquire.

(Cont.)
>>
His expression changes almost immediately, as if he sensed the tension in your voice and body language. “No, doesn’t ring any bells. Should it?” he asks.

“Nah. I was just wondering.” you say in an attempt to veer away from the topic. If Grandpa doesn’t know anything, then you’re forced to continue your investigation elsewhere.

Just then, you receive a message on your communicator. It’s from the Omnivore, and the only thing contained in the transmission is the oddly colored, beating heart of an alien creature. You think it’s an emoji of some sort.

“Hey Trixy, what’s this mean?” you ask your resident A.I.

“I believe she is wishing you good health.” Trixy responds.

“Oh, cool.” you say. You’re slightly impressed by Trixy’s universal knowledge on trivial facts such as this.

“You know, Wade.” Grandpa begins, looking more serious now. “If there’s something going on-” he continues, before being interrupted by a series of loud chirps from your slingshot device.

“Hold that thought.” you say while opening your inbox with the press of a button. It’s a hindsight beacon. And it’s coming from Red!

“What’s wrong?” Grandpa asks.

“Something’s wrong. And it’s on Earth.” you explain.

“No surprise there.” Grandpa sighs.

What will you do?

>Respond to the beacon immediately. Red’s life might be in danger.
>Wait a while and call for backup. Gwen and Charmy’s help would be greatly appreciated.

You briefly consider calling in backup, but you have no idea how urgent Red’s situation is. His life might be in danger at this very moment, and that’s not a risk that you’re willing to take.

“I’d love to chat right now, gramps, but I’ve got to go.” you say whilst calibrating your slingshot device.

“Alright, I get it. Just, don’t push yourself too hard. You’re gonna burn out one of these days, and it ain’t gonna be pretty.” he says with a serious expression.

“I’ll be fine. Talk to you later, bye!” you blurt out in a hurry. And before he can respond, you jump out of your seat and tear open a large, gaping portal in space-time. And of course, this immediately draws the attention of every single person in the shuttle. “Catch you guys later.” you say with a half-hearted salute, before jumping through the portal in a flashy, and rather confusing display.

-----------

This time, you reach your destination much quicker than you normally do, mostly due to the fact that this urgent event is taking place in your very own dimension. But for some reason, that makes you even more nervous.

As you make your re-entry after exiting the wormhole, you find yourself in the middle of some type of futuristic laboratory. The walls are lined with vats of pale green sludge, accompanied by a series of unusually disturbing creatures. At first, you assume that they’re alien in origin, but your scans are telling you otherwise. These appear to man-made, bred and born in this lab for some unknown purpose.

The ceiling, however, is adorned with large mechanical appendages that appear to be dormant at this very moment. They must be used for removing the vats from the walls.

“X!?” whispers a familiar voice from the other end of the room. And upon turning your head in his direction, you see Red and his team, in full uniform and watching you with a horrified expression. Was your appearance that shocking?

Suddenly, you notice a series of red dots tracing your chest. And as your eyes trace them back to their source, you begin to see the fully functioning laser grid that you jumped right in the middle of. “Oops…” you mutter to yourself. And immediately afterwards, the entire room is bathed in crimson light, followed by a loud blaring alarm that rings all throughout the facility.

“This is bad!” shouts the pink ranger behind Red.

“We need to pull out, Red. Give the order.” demands the blue ranger.

But before he can say anything, a series of powerful looking plasma cannons and a row of illegal assault droids are deployed all around you. What the hell is going on here? This is at least 4th or 5th level tech.

“Doesn’t look like that’s an option anymore.” Red grimaces. “Rangers! Formation F-07!” Red commands. You have no idea what that means, but you should probably do something soon.

While you browse through your selection of aliens, desperately searching for an appropriate form to use, the laser turrets begin firing large plasma bolts at Red’s team. While most of them manage to avoid the projectiles with a series of acrobatic flips, the black ranger in the back decides to block them with his hefty-looking shield.

“It’s Morphin’ time!” Red shouts, before selecting an alien and slamming his hand down upon his watch’s core. And in a burst of crimson light, Red’s human form rapidly shifts into that of black, reptile-like alien with a large bulbous head, sharp teeth and a razor-like tail. You have no idea what he calls that one, since he didn’t call out its name when he transformed. Although, it looks somewhat similar to a Xenomorph.

But seeing as he’s already chosen his alien, you can’t let the newbie get ahead of you. “It’s Showtime!” you exclaim, as you select Amalgamech’s icon and slam your hand down upon your belt’s core. And in a burst of violet light, you’ve transformed into Amalgamech!

And for some reason, Red and the rest of his rangers are getting riled up by your alien form. You can almost feel Trixy struggling to translate the rapid-fire Chinese that’s flying from their mouths. They seem really excited.

What will you do?

In an instant, you formulate a battle plan and communicate the details of which to every member of your Zord. And without a hint of verbal communication, the five of you separate from each other and break off in two separate directions.

And in an impressive display of coordination and athletic prowess, the Sabertooth leaps onto the T-Rex’s back, sliding his torso through a slot placed around the back of neck, causing his arms to replace the T-Rex’s smaller appendages, and his face to pop out of the larger mech’s chest. Immediately afterwards, the Triceratops charges straight into the T-Rex, lifting him up and placing him on top of her back. Despite his considerable weight, the Triceratops has no trouble carrying the T-Rex whatsoever. But in an unexpected chain of events, the T-Rex’s legs fold up into his torso, allowing him to merge his lower half with the Triceratops’ and making him into some strange centaur-like creature. And finally, the Triceratops’ head detaches from her neck, and slowly raises itself towards the T-Rex’s face. The crown, horns and beak of the creature then slides onto the face of the larger mecha like a glorious helmet, concluding the transformation in a dramatic display of sparks.

Now that they’ve finished merging together, the chimera droid charges right into the middle of the army of assault drones with reckless abandon, goring several of them in the process with their sharp horns. With a swipe of its large tail, the chimera tosses a good chunk of them into a wall, crushing their armor like aluminum foil and causing them to crumple onto the floor. With their centaur-like legs, they trample, stomp and kick the drones surrounding them. And with their razor sharp claws, they rip and tear through the robot’s armor plates, while the T-Rex snaps them in half with it’s massive jaws. And if all of that wasn’t enough, the Sabretooth’s head continues to fire sonic shockwaves from its open mouth, obliterating the surrounding laser turrets in the process.

Meanwhile, the Pterodactyl latches onto the Mastodon’s back with its sharp talons, lifts it up into the air and flies it directly in front of the laser turret’s line of fire. Thankfully, the Mastodon’s shields are more than big enough to cover Red and his Rangers. And it’s a good thing that you did, since a small squadron of soldiers just busted into the room, guns blazing.

“Take care of ‘em. I’ve got the turrets.” Red commands through a second, smaller mouth inside of his larger one. He then leaps onto the Mastodon’s right tusk, uses it as a springboard and launches himself towards the wall mounted laser turrets. He somehow manages to deftly evade the plasma bolts in mid-air, and as he reaches the first, he uses his razor sharp tail to carve through it like butter. And as for the second, he spews out a stream of acid, dissolving the metal and its internal circuitry almost instantly.

(Cont.)
>>
As you turn to look behind you, you see that Red’s rangers have followed his orders to a tee. With their exotic melee weapons and martial arts prowess, the six of them manage to cover your flank without so much as a single plasma bolt reaching you.

----------

Eventually, after you’ve taken out every single guard and security countermeasure, you merge with your animal brethren to become Amalgamech once more, before timing out in a burst of golden light.

“Well, this is just great! Your friend here just ruined the entire mission!” the green ranger angrily shouts.

“We have to pull out. There’s now way we can fight off this many guards without losing someone.” Blue declares.

“No way! If we don’t get that decoder, JF is gonna have our heads.” Pink says while shivering. And from the look on Red’s face, you can pretty much guess that they’re talking about his mom.

What will you say?

>”Is this decoder really that important? What do you need it for?”
>"What is this place?"
>”I didn’t mean to interrupt your mission. I can help you get your decoder if it means anything.”

“I didn’t mean to interrupt your mission. I can help you get your decoder if it means anything.” you say in an apologetic tone.

“Maybe we would’ve gotten it by now if you hadn’t shown up when you did.” Green says with what you assume is a scowl. It’s a little hard to see past the dark lenses in their masks.

“That’s enough, Green. We won’t get anywhere by bitching about it.” the black ranger says with his arms crossed. “If he wants to help, we should let him. I’m getting tired of this creepy ass lab.” he mutters to himself, as he brushes past you with a flap of his shoulder cape.

“I agree. If things start looking rough, we should probably get out of here. I’ve got a bad feeling about all this.” you state, while glancing around at the bizarre creatures inhabiting the test tubes.

“Welcome aboard, Gaijin Rider.” the Yellow ranger says with a hearty laugh as she slaps you on your back. It takes a moment for Trixy to adjust to the change, but because of the split second delay, you can confirm that this little lady insulted you in Japanese. And judging from the other’s lack of reaction, they’re pretty used to it.

“Hey, let’s get a move on.” Blue demands. Despite the fact that the order isn’t coming from Red, the other rangers fall in line without so much as a grumble in protest. This appears to annoy Red a great deal. You can sense a deep rivalry between the two of them.

As you and the others race through the corridors of this mysterious facility, you inch closer to Red ever so slightly to make sure that no one overhears your conversation. “I got a distress call from you. What’s going on?” you whisper to Red.

“Nothing.” he shrugs. “We’ve been investigating shipping manifests from Evo-Corp and we think that we may have found the components needed to build a dangerous weapon, spread across numerous shipments, and spanning the course of the past two weeks.” he explains. “And we believe that the main component for that weapon is located somewhere within this lab.”

“That sure doesn’t sound like ‘nothing’.” you retort in a hushed tone.

“It was supposed to be a simple smash and grab. We weren’t counting on getting caught!” he exclaims under his breath.

“I said I was sorry!” you whisper back with your voice raised ever so slightly.

“I wouldn’t call you for something trivial. Me and my team can handle this.” he declares.

Apparently not. Sometime in the future, something goes wrong. Something goes horribly wrong. So much so that it forces the proud “Ben 7” to call for help outside of his team and his government agents. And you’re here to find out exactly what that is.

...Wait. If the group is called “Ben 7”, then why are there only six members present?

(Cont.)
>>
“We’ve got company!” Pink notifies everyone. And as you look up, you see a swarm of insectoid creatures skittering across every visible surface in the hallway, crawling towards you and Red’s team. And strangely enough, they look exactly like the things that attacked you at Steel’s rally a little while ago.

The Rangers instinctively brandish their weapons and prepare for attack. All except one, that is. “Fall back! There’s too many of them!” Green yells frantically.

“Heh. These bugs don’t look so tough.” Black remarks as he slings the handleof his axe over his shoulder.

“They just had to be bugs, huh…” Yellow sighs, her grip tightening over the twin daggers in her hands. Red, on the other hand, appears to be deliberating his next course of action.

From what you’ve seen so far, he doesn’t have the best control over his team. They often try to make their own decisions and splinter off from the group, and the blue ranger appears to be directly opposed to Red’s leadership. Letting the little guy call the shots could show them all that he’s a competent leader, and not just some precocious kid.

“It’s your call, Red. What should we do?” you ask him.

His expression is one of deep confusion, as he must have expected you to take the lead instead. “Well…” he says while desperately examining his surroundings. “I’ve got an idea!” he declares. “Everyone, follow me!” Red shouts.

At first, his command is met with utter silence. The Rangers appear unsure of whether they should abide by his orders. “You heard the man! Come with us if you want to avoid being bug food!” you yell. And thankfully, it would appear that your words brought them to attention.

As the bugs close in on your position, you and the others follow Red into a nearby spacious storage room filled heavy looking crates. When you get close enough, the doors slide open like a giant camera shutter unfolding before your eyes. As soon as you get inside, you notice that the ceiling is much higher than you thought it would be. Those heavy crates are stored and socketed within compartments that line the walls going all the way up to the ceiling.

“So now what?” Blue asks.

“I need someone to rip that control panel off of the wall.” Red demands while pointing to a panel near the door with an assortment of colorful keys. Without protest, the black ranger digs his fingers between the thin gaps of the panel and proceeds to tear it away from the wall, taking several wires with it. “Thanks.” he says, while taking the damaged, dangling wires and linking them together in a union of sparks.

“What’s he doing?” Pink whispers to her allies.

“Beats me.” Green sighs.

“Almost done…” Red proclaims as he tears out two more wires and a small plug. And as soon as he does, the doors quickly close in front of you, but they do not shut completely. Instead, they appear to be currently stuck leaving only a small hole for the bugs to crawl through.

“You created a funnel for the swarm to crawl through, staggering their numbers and giving us room to breathe. Nice!” you compliment Red.

“Good thinking, leader!” Yellow agrees, aggressively slapping the small boy on the back.

“You're, like, totally my hero!" Pink declares, practically gushing with enthusiasm.

"Let's not celebrate just yet. We've still got a pest problem!" Blue warns you, just in time for you to notice that the bugs are beginning to crawl through the tiny opening.

"Time to bust out the big guns!" you shout, as you swipe up on your Omnitrix's touchscreen in order to access your Viral Forms. You've been curious about what Viral Snapdragon, you think that you'll give him a shot.

"G͓̜̪̐͆̈͝ͅo̺̳͌ȉ͖̺̩̋̈́̉͟n͕͉̂̊̃g̯̰͊͡ ̫̊͞V̗̗͑̚į̨̺̹͑̔̍̕ȑ̫̘̤̂͘a̮̳̻͛͛l̨̥̇͂"Trixy says in an uncanny, deep voice.

"It's Showtime!" you proclaim while slamming your hand down onto the Omnitrix's core. And in a flash of violet light, you undergo a rather unusual change.

From your moss covered back, you feel uncomfortable mycelial growths sprouting all over your skin. Plant fibers at the ends of your forearms and fingers tips lose sensation, becoming dead and hard, like tree bark. Porous, bug eaten holes pop up along your chest, and your teeth increase in size, becoming more like deadly, sharp needles.

You've become Viral Snapdragon!

After the flash dissipates, you notice that you've gotten noticeably larger. Well...larger than Snapdragon usually is, at least.

But you don't have time to focus on that. You need to deal with these bugs, effective immediately!

What will you do?

>Spread your roots along the floor and eviscerate any bug that manages to squeeze through the door.
>Fire a volley of mushroom missiles through the small opening.
>Transform your arms into a pair of deadly plant weapons and meet the swarm head on.
>Eat one of the bugs, break it down and adopt it's biological traits.
>Seal the breach with moss and spread your vegetation throughout the entire corridor.

As the oversized insects pour into the storage room, the rangers behind you ready their weapons, while you reshape your hands into deadly weapons. Just past your elbow, your right hand becomes a sharp blade made from tree bark and razor thin plant fibers. On the other hand, your tightly clenched fist shifts into a spiked mace made from a similar material to your other weapon.

You attempt to give your allies a rallying cry, but the only thing that escapes your throat is a guttural snarl, and you can’t be bothered to make a correction in the heat of the moment.

Without a single care for your own safety, you dive straight towards the insect swarm, tearing, stomping and smashing your way through them. But despite your best efforts, a few of them manage to slip past your defenses and take a hefty bite out of any part of you readily available to them. This includes your arms, legs and your abdomen. However, before you can retaliate, something unexpected happens.

The bugs that had just taken a bite out of you are now writhing on the floor in agony, foaming at the mouth and spasming uncontrollably. Shortly afterwards, you notice a clump of moss growing inside the creature’s mouth, spreading throughout their body at an incredibly fast rate and covering every inch of their flesh. Eventually, they stop moving altogether, and small pieces of them begin breaking off and crumbling as they hit the ground. These things just...instantly decomposed. Even the metal doors are rusting and breaking apart upon coming into contact with your microscopic germs. Are your spores that fatal to organic creatures? You’ll have to be more careful when using this guy.

Although...this gives you an idea.

Before Red’s Rangers can reach the bugs with their weapons, you snatch them up with your plant tendrils and charge straight for the door. This comes as a big surprise to the bugs too, but they aren’t nimble enough to move out of the way before you come smashing through the door, barreling through the reinforced steel with little to no difficulty and sending anything in your way flying in the opposite direction.

Even though the entire swarm is on you at this point, you figure that you regenerate so fast that any damage you receive is practically irrelevant. Once you’ve confirmed that the majority of them are focusing on you and you alone, you spread your moss along the cold, hard floor, causing large, thick plant fiber fronds to sprout from the miniature grassy that you’ve created. These fronds then proceed to coil around you, trapping most of the bugs inside with you, allowing you to safely expel your choking spores with the enclosed area. Any that managed to escape your plant trap are swiftly dismembered by your weaponized plant tendrils that you grew outside of the organic enclosure.

(Cont.)
>>
You then notice that a few stragglers happened to slip away during all the excitement, and they’re headed straight for Red’s Rangers. And while they might be dying for a slice of the action, you decide to grow a field of thorny branches between the two of them, piercing the bugs through and protecting Red’s teammates from any potential harm. Their expressions appear to be stuck between amazement and disappointment, but leaning much further towards the former.

Once you’ve confirmed that the insects have become nothing more than a pile of compost and ashes, you absorb the plants back into your body in hopes of eliminating any chance of any sentient being coming into contact with your spores. Immediately afterwards, you time out in a flash of golden light, returning to your human form. You’re a little winded at the moment, but you’re starting to get used to the after effects of using your Viral transformations.

“That. Was. Amazing!” Pink exclaims, bouncing up and down with a giddy expression.

“You took them down all by yourself! I’ve never seen anything like that before.” Green states, seemingly intrigued by your Omnitrix.

“You’ve got some serious moves, man. We should spar together some time.” Black says with an approving nod. In the back, you notice Yellow giving you a small round of applause, while Blue’s pretending not to be impressed. Red, on the other hand, is very pleased with this turn of events. He looks like he wants to join in and shower you with praise, but he’s most likely holding back to avoid seeming childish or unprofessional. Being a leader must be tough. Especially for a kid his age.

What will you say?

>”If you all treat me to some steamed meat buns later, we’ll call it even.”
>”I’m just glad that all of you are alright. Red’s plan worked out perfectly.”
>”We can celebrate later. Let’s grab that decoder and get out of here before more of those things show up.

“I’m just glad that all of you are alright. Red’s plan worked out perfectly.” you declare, catching Red off guard as you point at him.

“Huh? Me?” he asks with a puzzled expression.

“Not bad, kid! Guess you’re more than a mascot after all.” Yellow says while punching his shoulder.

“I-it was nothing…” Red states, while blushing profusely and rubbing his shoulder.

While the other rangers freely converse with one another, you and Green inspect the decomposing bodies of the insectoids.

“What are these things?” he inquires, whilst poking a gelatinous component within its stomach.

“I’ve...seen these creatures before.” you declare, quickly correcting yourself, just in case anyone tries to trace this back to you. “Evo-Corp must be growing them in this lab.” you conclude.

“But why? What’s the point?” Green asks.

“It gives people a reason to need their help. I suspect that they’re doing the same thing over here.” you mutter to yourself. If Elena’s marketing her Exo-suits over here too, then the situation might be more dire than you originally suspected. You have no idea who’d be buying them around here, but you’d like to put a stop to it if possible.

“Anyways, we can celebrate later. For now, let’s focus up and get back to the mission.” you declare.

“Finally, someone with some sense.” Blue sighs. Everyone else just groans at him and tries their best to ignore his pretentious attitude. But as the rest of the rangers take point, Red pulls you aside for a moment to address you personally.

“You didn’t have to do that, but...thanks.” he whispers. In response, you briefly nod and race to meet up with the others.

----------------

After scouring the facility for what feels like a good half hour, you stumble upon what you believe to be the main lab.

“According to my radar, the decoder should be somewhere in-” Red begins saying, before Black unsheathes his axe and buries it within the steel door without warning. He then shoves his hands between the gap and pries the door open with only his bare hands. “...here.” Red finishes, seemingly disappointed by Black’s simple and barbaric solution. Nevertheless, the door’s wide open, allowing all of you to enter simultaneously.

“You’re such a brute, Black. I bet Violet could have done that in half the time.” Pink whines. So there is a seventh member! You wonder where they are.

“Orange is cooler in my opinion. That guy really knows to liven up a party!” Yellow exclaims.

“White could take both of them single-handed. We really should’ve had him join the team as a permanent member.” Blue argues.

“Hmph. Who needs a flaky and unreliable guy like him? We’re fine the way we are.” Black mopes with his hands held behind his neck.

(Cont.)
>>
Okay, now you’re really confused. How many members are there?

“Look! There it is.” Red announces, as he points towards a small disk-shaped device, suspended in mid-air by an artificial gravity field and protected by a tightly knit laser array. And controlling all of it is a console managed by a group of terrified scientists, currently attempting to escape from this encounter.

“We won’t hurt ya, so go on and scram.” Black declares. However, this confuses the Evo-Corp scientists for some reason.

“But...we were told to-” the female scientist begins, before Yellow abruptly interrupts her.

“Get lost, already!” Yellow shouts. This outburst is enough to scare them away, allowing you to freely access the console.

“Alright, now we just need to disable the security countermeasures and take the decoder. Easy peasy.” Red states as he runs up to the console.

But just then, his path is cut off by a hulking brute that drops down from the ceiling. Immediately, you can tell that this is one of Elena’s Exo-suits. This one in particular is inspired by Tetramand biology.

You spot a few more out of the corner of your eye. All of them slithering out from behind the shadows that permeated this dark room, surrounding you completely and cutting off your exits. Some of the suits designs are recognizable upon first glance, while others are completely alien, even to someone as well versed as you.

“What are these things!?” Green shouts in a panicked tone.

“Whatever they are, they’re about to be mincemeat!” Black growls as he readies his axe.

“We can’t stick around here for too long. I need to get to that console.” Red states, while backing away from the Tetramand Exo-Suit.

What will you do?

>Transform into an alien. (Which one?)

“You go and disable the security grid. I’ll cover you.” you proclaim, whilst sliding open the Omnitrix’s faceplate and cranking the dial to the right as you access your Top 10. Thankfully, this allows you to select the alien you want without wasting too much time.

Red nods to you in response, and proceeds to try and slip past the Exo-Suit soldier. With his four mechanical arms, he swats and grabs at the young boy, but before he can get a firm grasp, a blinding flash of violet light distracts him just long enough for Red to slink away.

You’ve become Knuckle Duster!

Just then, you grab hold of one of his mechanical arms and grip it with enough force to crush the reinforced steel shell, internal frame and the motors within, without much effort on your part.

“Not so fast, pipsqueak.” you growl. Your nostrils flare up, exuding hot air that fogs up the lenses of the soldier’s helmet. “You’ve gotta go through me, first.”

In response, the Exo-Suit soldier locks arms with you, while taking jabs at your abdomen with his free hand.

What do you do?

Without hesitation, you eagerly rip through his thick armor with your sharp claws and pry it open like a bag of chips. However, you fail to notice the shoulder-mounted rocket launcher that he has equipped. And it’s pointed right at you.

“Ah, shi-!” you begin to shout, before eating a barrage of miniature rockets directly to the face. The resulting explosion sends you flying backwards, leaving you with the feeling that you just got slammed in the face by a series of snowballs filled with rocks. And as you attempt to pick yourself up from the cold, hard floor, you feel a significant weight putting pressure on your back, followed by something grabbing you by the neck and holding your mouth closed. Someone’s on top of you, and they’re using the same tactic that you used against Wendy when you’d first met her.

“I’ve almost got it…” Red announces. His fingers are moving across the keyboard at blazing fast speeds, but unfortunately, you and everyone else are unable to keep the Exo-Suit soldiers off his back. You’re forced to sit there and watch as Red is grabbed by his collar and picked up by the very same Tetramand mech that you’d fought earlier. “You’d better let me go, or else you’ll be sor-!” Red says in a threatening tone, before he’s thrown towards you and sent tumbling across the floor. He quickly recovers and attempts to re-engage the Tetramand Exo, however, his path is cut off by an Exo that looks like an alien grasshopper.

With both of you out of the way, the Tetramand Exo shoves his entire artificial arm into the laser grid, leaving it a smoldering mess of half melted molten slag. But with the sacrifice of his arm, he manages to grab the decoder before losing the artificial appendage completely.

“We got what we came here for. Let’s move out.” the Tetramand Exo says in a deep, processed voice.

Just then, if only for a moment, the pressure on your back eases up ever so slightly, allowing you to wrap your tail around the neck of whatever is holding you down. And with a swift flick of your girthy tail, you toss the Exo aside and pull yourself back up. By the time the grasshopper Exo notices, you’re already charging straight at him. He attempts to hop away, but you manage to grab hold of one of his legs and slam him back down onto the ground.

“We need to grab that decoder!” Red shouts while pointing at the circular device.

“How’s about I give you his whole arm, instead?” you propose whilst slamming your fist into your open palm. And with that brief exchange, the two of you begin charging at the Tetramand Exo in hopes of retrieving the decoder before he has a chance of escaping with it.

“Wade, I regret to inform you that the device in that human’s possession is not a ‘decoder’.” Trixy blurts out. “It is in fact a-” she continues. But before she can finish, a bright streak of crimson energy is emitted from the device.

(Cont.)
>>
“What the-” the Tetramand says with a befuddled expression. And suddenly, what began as a single arc of energy, evolves into a storm of blinding plasma shooting out in every which direction, scorching whatever it touches. But by this time, you and Red have gotten too close, leaving you no room to avoid this strange energy. The Tetramand Exo is immediately blown away by the sudden flare up, while you and Red are struck directly by the scarlet plasma storm.

For a moment, you feel unbearable pain as each and every one of your nerves and muscles begins screaming in agony. It’s as if every cell in your body is on fire. And if you feel this way as Knuckle Duster, then you can’t even imagine what Red is going through right now.

You attempt to fight through the pain, and grab the ‘decoder’, but as you inch closer, the pain becomes more and more intense. And right when you clench your fist around it, everything goes black.

-------------

When you open your eyes, you’re immediately met with a dull, throbbing pain in the back of your head. And beyond that, you feel an unbelievably soft sensation on the back of your neck.

“Oh good, you’re awake!” Pink exclaims as she looks down on you from above. Although, you can barely tell that it’s her from your first glance. She’s taken off her helmet, but her outfit is still as bright as ever. As a knee-jerk reaction, you jump up in an attempt to create some distance between the two of you. However, that sudden movement only serves to aggravate your groggy condition. Your head feels like it’s swimming right now. But maybe that’s just because of the fact that you’re actually moving. As far as you can tell, you’re in some type of vehicle.

“Don’t try to move too much! You and Red really took a big hit back there.” she says with a worried expression. Her high-pitched voice is only slightly irritating, but since she’s been so kind to you, you’re willing to bear through it.

Looking at her now, you can see that she’s truly a beautiful woman. Maybe cute would be a better word. With her long, brown hair, long eyelashes, button nose and glossy lips, she’s almost like a doll or a celebrity.

What do you say?

>”Where are we?”
>”What happened? Did we win? Where’s the decoder?”

“Where are we?” you ask.

“On a transport headed for our base. Shouldn’t be long now.” states a familiar voice in the corner of the hangar. Judging from his costume, he must be Green. His short, light brown hair is slightly unkempt, and it would seem like he wears glasses when he isn’t wearing his helmet. However, you don’t see anyone else in here.

“Is Red okay?!” you frantically inquire, suddenly shooting up from your seat.

“He’s a little shaken up, but much better off than you were. He woke up a little before you did.” Green explains.

“He should still be in the next room over.” Pink adds.

Good. Everyone’s okay. You can finally take a breath and release the tension in your muscles. “So...what happened back there?” you ask while slumping back down into your seat.

“After that huge light show, those Exo-suit guys immediately retreated, which allowed the rest of us to carry the two of you out of that freaky lab.” Green recalls, seemingly not thoroughly convinced of the account’s accuracy, despite having been there himself. At the moment, you’re having a hard time believing that the Exo-Suit guys would just run away after all that. Something’s not adding up.

“You guys carried Knuckle Duster!? I highly doubt that.” you say with a dry chuckle.

“By the time the dust settled, you weren’t the gator guy anymore. It made you much easier to carry.” Pink states.

“And the decoder? Where is it now?” you ask them with your arms crossed.

“Got it right here.” Red announces as he enters the room from some type of miniature lab within the aircraft. In his hands, he holds a black, dihedral box with a faint glow emanating from it. “I did what I could and realigned the pins so that the internal oscillator would stop malfunctioning. Your tip was spot on, Green.” Red smiles as he removes his goggles and pulls them up over his eyes.

“Well that’s a relief. But...I can’t help but feel anxious about all this. Those Exo-Suits and the Bio-bugs are one thing, but Evo-Corp can’t create tech this advanced. It’s almost…” Green theorizes before petering off and silently muttering to himself.

“Alien?” you suggest, finishing his sentence for him.

“Yeah, that’s what I thought too.” Red interjects. “But now I know one thing for sure. This thing is DEFINITELY not a ‘decoder’. It’s got too much juice running through it.” he says, sharing his analysis with all of you. “And thanks to that weird energy from before, my Harmonitrix is completely borked! I can’t even tell time with it anymore.” he groans as he fiddles with the watch on his wrist.

“One more thing.” you bring up. “You didn’t take my mask off, did you?” you ask Pink.

“Me!? Nah, I like a man with a little mystery.” she giggles.

(Cont.)

She sounds innocent enough, but just in case, you decide to consult Trixy on the matter. Telepathically, of course.

But strangely enough, the only thing you get back is a ringing sensation in your head, followed by unintelligible nonsense. You think Trixy might be trying to communicate with you, but that blast must have done more damage than you’d originally thought. You’ll have to take a look at the Omnitrix later.

--------

A few minutes later, the aircraft lands within an exceptionally large spiral-shaped facility. This must be the Ministry of Defense that Red told you about earlier.

Shortly after landing and disembarking from the plane, you’re almost immediately met with the sight of a small army pointing their guns at you. From assault rifles, to combat shotguns, to sniper rifles positioned in towers on opposite sides of the landing field, you seem to be completely surrounded.

But out of all of these soldiers dressed in black, you spot a well decorated businesswoman walking past them and approaching you with a stern glare in her eye. Her black hair is neatly tied up in a bun, with only a single lock of hair dangling down in front of her face. “And who, might I ask, is this?” she inquires with a hand on her hip and another clutching a datapad. Judging by the way that she carries herself, she must be in charge around here.

“Mo-” Red begins saying, before clearing his throat and starting over. “Ma’am, this is X. He helped us complete our mission.” he explains.

“Hmm. After jeopardizing it, you mean.” the woman scowls at you. “I strictly ordered you to avoid being detected or leaving a trail. We’ll be lucky if Evo-Corp doesn’t strike back in a matter of hours.” she sighs while pinching the bridge of her nose.

Red, Pink and Green seem too scared to address her, currently. What will you say?

>”It’s not their fault. I take full responsibility for the outcome of this mission.”
>”With all due respect, ma’am, we got the device and everyone got out with their lives. I’d consider that a success.”
>”Considering what we found in that lab, I don’t think you have to worry about any lawsuits coming your way. They’ll probably scrub it clean before sunrise.”
>”Do you mind telling me what you’re planning on doing with these parts? This is some seriously dangerous alien tech.”

“Considering what we found in that lab, I don’t think you have to worry about any lawsuits coming your way. They’ll probably scrub it clean before sunrise.” you predict.

“Indeed. Public retaliation would only hurt them. For the time being, their hands are tied. At least, until they can find a use for the camera footage that they captured of you invading their laboratory.” the woman confirms.

“Hey, while we’re on the topic of having our hands tied, could you please tell your boys to lower their weapons? All these red dots dancing around on my chest are starting to make me nervous.” you say in a jovial tone. At first, you expect her to deny your request with a snarky remark, but instead, she glances over her shoulder and raises her left hand, signaling them to stand down altogether. “Thanks.” you sigh.

“Red gladly filled in some of the blanks in your profile. And while it didn’t provide any incriminating information, he deemed you worthy of our trust. And as such, you’re free to make use of our facilities, so long as they don’t surpass clearance level seven.” the woman informs you.

“I appreciate it.” you say, while glancing over at Red. He still hasn’t broken eye contact with the woman at all. It looks like he respects her a great deal. Perhaps she’s the mother that he told you about before. “But if you want my thoughts on this whole thing, I feel like Evo-Corp led us into a trap.” you assume.

“Your input is...valued, X.” Red’s mom says, struggling to find a formal way to address you. “But with all due respect, the integrity of our information network is nothing short of peerless. I have no doubt in my mind that we’ve dealt a serious blow to Evo-Corp tonight, whether they want to admit it or not.” she proclaims. “Now, I do believe that you have the device I requested.” she inquires, now looking to Red.

“Yes. I’ve contained and repaired it for the time being, but I think it requires further study.” he reports while brandishing the black box from before.

“Noted. Come now. We must perform maintenance on your Harmonitrix.” she says, beckoning him over to her, where she gently places her hand upon his back and leads him further into the base. For only a split second, you notice her expression softening up a bit as she strokes his shoulder. It’s the faintest hint of familial love, but at least it’s something. You just hope that she sees her son as something more than a useful tool.

Looking around, you notice that the majority of the guards have dispersed, while Green and Pink remain by your side.

“We got asked to babysit you!” Pink loudly declares with a wide grin.

“The Chief is cautious as always.” Green sighs. “Don’t worry, we won’t try to boss you around or anything. But if you wanna stick around or leave, we’ve got to report it.” he explains.
>>
“So, do you want the tour, or did you have something else in mind?” Pink asks you.

What will you do?

>Take the tour. You might see something interesting along the way.
>Try to tag along with Red in order to assess the damage that was done to your Omnitrix.
>Contact Gwen and Charmy. They should have seen the distress signal by now. You could really use some backup before shit hits the fan.

“I think I’ll take the tour. But, do you know if there’s anywhere to perform maintenance on my Omnitrix?” you ask while gesturing towards your belt.

“Hmm. I guess there’s the engineering lab...but that place is off limits. And your clearance level isn’t nearly high enough to access the lab’s tools.” Green carefully considers.

“Oh! Doesn’t Red have a little workshop that he likes to hide in? Wouldn’t that be the perfect place to do it?” Pink proposes.

“But Red’s the only one allowed in. He’ll be furious if we let anyone else inside. Not to mention that it’s password protected.” Green explains.

“It’ll be fine. I’m sure he’ll understand if we explain it to him later.” Pink says with a relaxed smile.

“But the passcode…” Green reminds her.

“Hehe! I may or may not have taken a peek when Red punched in his code~. Although, I was planning on playing a prank on him later, this seems a teensy bit more important.” Pink reveals with a devious grin.

“Whoa...you’re beyond saving…” Green says with a disappointed sigh.

“How rude! I’ll have you know that Red absolutely loooves my pranks!” Pink proudly proclaims. The two of them go back and forth like this for a good while before they actually let you into the facility.

-----------

On your way to the workshop, you pass the cafeteria, the training gym, the firing range, the briefing room and a plethora of other facilities that you couldn’t believe were crammed into this massive complex of buildings. And just when you starting to feel good about establishing a base for you and your friends, China goes ahead and one-ups you.

“Aaaaand here’s the workshop!” Pink exclaims as she points to a large pair of sliding doors with a keypad and a bio-scanner built into the wall. “And here’s the passcode…” she whispers as she punches in the code, and pulls out a rubber glove, before slipping it on her hand and pressing it against the bio-scanner.

“How’d you-!?” Green shouts with a shocked expression.

Shortly afterwards, the bio-scanner glows green and the door slides open before you. “Open sesame!” she announces while gesturing to the open door. “You’d better make the most of it, X. This prank took a lot of effort to prepare, you know.” she declares with a small pout. She’s simultaneously adorable and terrifying at the same time.

“I take it back. You’re not beyond help. You’re just a damned lunatic…” Green sighs.

“How rude!” Pink shouts.

“Thanks guys, but I’ll take it from here.” you proclaim.

“Okay. Just shout if you need us. We’ll be nearby.” Green says with a pleasant smile.

“And don’t go too far. We’ll be in deep trouble if we let you out of our sight.” Pink states.

With a firm nod, you enter Red’s workshop and close the door behind you, where you're immediately met with the foreign sight of what appears to be a high tech, alien lab. Some of the tools that you see hanging on the walls and strewn across the table look like things that you've seen in Azmuth's lab before. But that's…impossible, right? There's no way that humans could develop something so advanced.

Nevertheless, you're going to need these tools if you're gonna take a crack at this Omnitrix. Even if the only experience you have is glancing over Azmuth's shoulder while he performed maintenance.

As you slide open the Omnitrix's faceplate, a jolt of energy jumps off of the core and zaps your finger. You let out a sharp hiss and shake your hand in order to offset the numbing sensation spreading through it.

Then, you grab hold of the Omnitrix core, twist it 180 degress to the left and pull it out of the belt with an audible click.

"Okay. Deep breaths. Deep breaths…" you mutter to yourself as you channel Mana through your throat chakra. Considering how tiny and awkward these tools are, your gonna need all the help you can get. "How hard can it be?" you ask as you set the core down and pull up it's holographic schematics.

>-1?!

After a few minutes of fiddling with the Omnitrix core and shifting its tiny plates around, you feel as if you haven’t managed to make any substantial changes. However, when you accidentally pull a block with your awkward little Galvan tools, the entirety of the internal core begins to shake violently.

“No no no no no!” you yell as you struggle to correct your mistake.

And in a burst of violet light, the cylindrical block explodes into a rotating pillar of jet black blocks, with dark purple, translucent bubbles floating around in the middle of the structure.

“Okay, this is new…” you mutter to yourself. At the moment, you’re too scared to change anything else. But you won’t get anything done by sitting here and staring at this thing. You just need to carefully readjust the last block that you tampered with. And you’re pretty sure that you memorized its exact position within the vortex of data and hard light projections. Now to give it the tiniest, slightest nudge and-

Just then, a booming knock echoes throughout the workshop, throwing you off balance ever so slightly, but just enough for you to nudge the block a little too far. “Ah shit!” you curse. The vortex is rotating even more fiercely than it was before!

“Open up!” shouts a brutish voice from behind the door.

“Just a minute! I need to...make myself decent.” you whimper. If these guys found out that you’ve been using Red’s workshop without permission, then you’re about to be in big trouble! Although, you’re not even sure how they found you.

First things first, though, you need to fix the immediate problem of your Omnitrix going haywire! “Here goes nothing…” you groan, as you proceed to randomly flip whichever blocks are immediately available to you. Somehow, this increases the vortex’s rotation cycles, and creates a blinding flash of light that forces you to shield your eyes.

When you open them again, you see that the pillar has slowed to a crawl and the blocks have begun arranging themselves into the shape of an Omnitrix core once more. Did...did you succeed?

Before you even have a chance to collect your thoughts, a thundering boom nearly bursts your eardrums, followed by a powerful explosive force that leaves you dazed and confused. The next thing you notice is one half of the reinforced steel door sliding towards you, clearly indented from the impact of whatever was used to forcefully open it, and the next thing you notice is the group of armed guards approaching you.

“Okay guys, I can explain…” you proclaim with your hands held up. But for some reason, they raise their guns up at you anyway. It would seem like someone’s barking orders at them from their radio, but you can’t quite make out the voice. “Oh, come on. I would think that you guys would be more pissed about the door than anything else.” you say with your usual deflective humor. Something’s seriously wrong. You need a way out of here.

Just then, your eyes are drawn to your Omnitrix core. You have no idea whether it’s working or not, but there’s only one way to find out.

And in one fluid movement, you socket your Omnitrix core back into your belt and lock it in firmly. However, the moment you do, a powerful jolt of electricity jumps out of the Omnitrix and entangles your entire body. You cry out in pain and grasp at your belt as an immediate reaction, but before you get a chance to remove it, the device releases a brilliant burst of blinding light. And in that brief moment, you feel yourself going through a drastic and...unfamiliar change.

When you open your eyes again, you notice that you’ve become significantly shorter. And are your hands bear claws? But they’ve got suction cups on them and...wait a minute. You know exactly who you’ve turned into!

You’ve become Whacker Mole!

“Aw crud. Not this guy again.” you whine in this alien’s usual slapstick tone.

Once again, your attention is brought to the blaster wielding guards. Your dire situation still hasn’t changed, and it would appear that you still can’t contact Trixy. You really hope that you didn't just break this thing...

What will you do?

“Sorry boys, but I can’t afford to stick around. So I hope you’ll take a parting gift instead!” you shout with a snarky grin as you raise your octopus tentacle of a tail above your head and release a jet black cloud of ink into the air. The armed guards begin coughing violently and firing blindly at the area where you were once standing. But while they were struggling to see or breathe, you were busy crawling along the ceiling and making a hasty retreat. Just in case, you changed your fur color to match that of the ceiling tiles.

Once you make it out, you begin running through the hallway that seems to be the least populated. The thunderous sound of leather boots thumping against the ground fills your ears, leading you to believe that backup is on the way. And speaking of backup, where the hell is yours!? You find it hard to believe that neither Charmy nor Gwen has seen your message by now. You’re getting a little sick of being the first responder in every single case.

Okay. Calm down, Wade. Now isn’t the time to lose your head. You’re behind enemy lines with no backup, no plan and no working Omnitrix! Gotta think! Gotta think!

For the moment, the only solution you can come up with is to fill the halls with your ink-like smokescreen. If they can’t see you, then they probably won’t be able to shoot you.

And that’s when you spot a nearby air vent that you feel as if Whacker Mole could fit through. It isn’t a terribly innovative idea, but it’s better than running in circles until you get captured.

As the sounds of stomping infantry grow ever closer, you hastily tear the grate off of the vent’s opening and crawl inside, gently replacing the grate so as to avoid immediate detection. You really wish you had some support from Trixy right about now. If you somehow managed to damage her core memory, then you’d feel even more terrible than you already do. You wouldn’t only be losing a partner. You’d be losing one of your best friends. It’s weird to admit, but you pretty much consider Trixy to be part of your ever expanding family. You’ll have to remember to tell her that when you make it out of this.

But the possibility of escape seems to be growing more and more slim with each corner that you turn. This vent system is like a maze! They make it look so easy in the movies.

Suddenly, the Omnitrix crest around your waist starts acting up again, much like the time where you’d experienced your first malfunction. And similar to that time, you cry out in pain as a jolt of electricity wracks your chubby bear-like body as it spreads across your fur. During this time, your body expands rapidly and your flesh is covered by a thin veil of violet light. You recognize this feeling.

You’re becoming Dropkick!

(Cont.)
>>
Immediately afterward, your sudden shift in weight causes the vents beneath you to give way and ultimately, collapse from the strain. You suddenly find yourself plummeting towards a grey room filled with segmented squares. As you near the bottom, you begin to notice similarly textured pillars and walls being erected and collapsing at inconsistent intervals, along with what appears to be a squadron of guards taking part in combat exercises. You sure did pick a terrible place to land.

Right before you crash into the ground, you spread your arms and violently flap your non-existent wings, as if it would do something to cushion your fall. But, to no avail. For the most part, the damage from your collision goes largely unmitigated, resulting in a cloud of debris and dust being kicked up upon your arrival.

As you rub your neck and shake the dust off of your feathers, you now notice that every single soldier is staring at you in confusion. But just then, you notice that their radios go off all at once, creating a web of static and noise. You know where this is going.

“Take him!” one of them shouts as he raises his rifle and aims at your chest. The rest follow suit shortly afterwards.

Yep. Called it…

What will you do?

>Try to lose them in the obstacle course. There’s no way they could keep up with you in there.
>Snatch some of the hovering target boards and throw them as disk shaped projectiles.
>Hop onto a flying drone turret and force it to fire at the guards.
>Launch yourself at the guard in front of you and bounce between the rest with your superhuman agility.
>Grab some of the largest guns you can find and rain hell down upon these poor saps.

Your eyes desperately scan the room for an exit. Anything that can take you away from this unintentional ambush. And that’s when you spot the transforming obstacle course off in the distance. The morphing pillars, roaming barriers and shifting terrain makes it appear to be an arduous undertaking for any normal human. It’d make a perfect escape route!

You immediately leap out of the way and make a beeline for the obstacle course, just in time to avoid the incoming plasma bolts. And from there, it isn’t long before the pillars begin to obstruct their line of fire. Your evasive footwork is playing a huge part in their lack of accuracy, but the unpredictable nature of this training room is a welcome distraction. Oftentimes, you find the soldiers tripping over barriers, smacking into pylons and accidentally getting caught in their ally’s line of fire. And it only gets more amusing when you get to the jungle gym.

In such a hectic and unusual environment, you find yourself right at home. Dropkick’s long, gangly arms are great from gripping onto slippery surfaces and are definitely strong enough to swing your entire body with ease. Any attempt to apprehend you within this obstacle course is immediately met with a swift kick to the chest, or something equally as embarrassing. Even in the maze-like cage of metal bars, you clear the obstacle with little to no effort on your part. Dropkick’s enhanced coordination and sense of balance plays a huge part in this.

But eventually, you realize that you’ve spent far too much time here already. In fact, it’s a miracle that you haven’t been morphed into a random alien by now. “This was fun. We should do it again some time.” you squawk as you leap away from the obstacle course and head for the exit, leaving only a group of exhausted and battered soldiers dangling from the metal bars.

Upon landing, you dramatically kick the door open, sending them flying off the hinges and crashing into a nearby wall. It would seem like this hallway isn’t as crowded as the others. There’s no one here but you at the moment. But before you even get a chance to formulate a plan, the Omnitrix goes haywire again, delivering an agonizing electric shock to your system as it envelops you in violet light.

Once the light dissipates, it isn’t long for you to recognize which alien you’ve transformed into. These orange, sweaty palms are a dead giveaway.

You’ve become Bat-A-Boom!

“Aww, man. This stinks…” you growl in your usual bass-filled tone. It almost sounds like you’re trying to sound scary, but that just seems to be the way that this alien speaks at any given moment.

However, you start to notice a faintly sweet smell lingering in the air. You recognize it from somewhere. It almost smells like...Gwen’s perfume! She must be here somewhere!

Then again, you think you’re getting a whiff of Red’s hair gel too. You’d like to make sure that he’s safe, but you aren’t exactly sure if you’re willing to trust his mother after her people just attacked you.

>Chase after Gwen’s scent. You need to group up with your teammates before you do anything else.

Although you’re concerned about Red’s wellbeing, you think it’d be a much better idea for you to meet up with Gwen and Charmy. Assuming they came together, that is. You just find it a little unusual that they haven’t contacted you via Slingshot. Maybe they got into a bit of trouble when they first arrived.

Either way, you should really get moving. It’s dangerous to stand around in one place for too long when you’re being hunted.

---------------

I took a good long minute of flying through the facility and blowing up any guard you crossed paths with, but you finally managed to track down the source of Gwen’s scent. And for some reason, these guys got a lot more aggressive towards you when you transformed into Bat-A-Boom. They must not like bats over here for some inconceivable reason.

If your nose serves you right, then Gwen should be right behind this reinforced steel door. And since you’ve lost the element of surprise, you should have no problems blowing this door open with a concentrated combustion blast.

With a deafening explosion and a blinding flash of light, the warped door flies off its hinges and slides across the floor, stopping just short of touching the tip of Gwen’s shoe. She alone stands in the middle of the hallway, staring at you with a dumbfounded expression.

“Boy am I glad to see you.” you sigh. “Look, there’s no time to explain, but we have to find Red and get-” you begin saying, until you realize that her facial expression is completely static. She hasn’t budged an inch since you entered the room. “Uh, Earth to Gwen. You still with me?” you ask while poking her shoulder. And to your surprise, it goes right through. There’s no resistance at all. This is...this is a hologram…

Just then, the artificial image of Gwen disappears, and a series of laser turrets pop out of the walls, ceiling and floor, pointing directly at you from multiple hallways and crossing over into this conveniently placed intersection. Shortly afterwards, a plethora of well armed guards flood into the room, taking strategic positions within the hallways and setting up defenses in a surprisingly swift manner. You're completely surrounded. These guys are too coordinated, their movements too rehearsed. This had to have been planned.

Suddenly, you hear a sinister voice laughing from the loudspeaker nearby. “How predictable. If Azmuth entrusted you with the Omnitrix, then he must surely be going senile.” the unusual man says as he continues laughing. At least you think it’s a man. And how does he know Azmuth?

“I know for sure that was Gwen’s scent. How’d you fake that?’ you ask, completely perplexed by this turn of events.

“The boy explained her fragrance, tone of voice and appearance in excruciating detail.” the voice groans in frustration. “I hung onto every word, knowing that this information would prove to be invaluable in the near future.” he says, revisiting that same smug tone from before. “After recreating the pheromone, it was simply a matter of distributing it through the air circulation system while maintaining the holographic image of your friend based on the boy’s stories.” he explains. So this guy is close with Red too. “But it would appear that my planning was in vain. If I would have known that you were going to damage your Omnitrix by yourself, then I would have set up a rabbit’s snare for you instead.” he cackles maniacally.

“Hey, cut me some slack. This is my first time doing maintenance on her. If I had something to practice on, then I probably would’ve done a better job.” you argue.

“Oh, please. You’re better suited to crafting stone tools and consorting in caves, you overgrown, hairless ape. Your meaty claws could never properly utilize Galvan tools." he barks with a voice full of deep rooted animosity.

"Someone's got a high opinion of themselves." you say with a raised brow.

"It isn't narcissism, you dolt. I'm simply stating facts. You, Azmuth and every other sentient smooth-brain on this wet rock fail to recognize my genius." he boldly declares.

"Sounds like you don't have a very high opinion of Azmuth. If so, then you'll have to take a number, pal." you say while pointing a thumb over your shoulder.

"'Dislike' doesn't even begin to describe it, human." he growls. This guy has some serious issues.

"Okay...so I'll assume that you're a 'Friend' of his. What's your name?" you readily inquire.

"Do not insult me, you simpleton. You may call me...Albedo." he dramatically reveals. Wait, as in the Albedo that you met back at the Nexus? He seemed like such a decent guy, so this must be your dimension's version of him. You wonder what could have transformed him into such a twisted individual.

Suddenly, you feel that familiar feeling from before, where a surge of energy jumps out of your Omnitrix and encapsules your entire body. You're about to change again. "Please don't let it be Grey Matter…" you whisper, right before closing your eyes and bracing for the inevitable wave of pain that's about to hit. And in a flash of violet light, you transform into…

"Gravelanche?" you ask, feeling completely perplexed as you flex your stone hands. "I'll take it!" you shout, while taking a combat ready pose.

Before any of them get a chance to fire upon you, you slam your fists into the ground, altering the consistency of it in an instant and turning the solid tile into a mire of muck and grime. The unsuspecting soldiers can do little more than flail helplessly as they sink waist deep into the murky mudpit. And while they’re preoccupied with panicking, you send a powerful shockwave through the earth, whipping up a series of tidal waves in multiple directions, and washing the soldiers down the rushing rapids that you’d created from the hallways, along with whatever weapons or gear they were carrying.

“Hmph, useless! Why is it so hard to find good help these days!?” Albedo shouts from the loudspeaker.

“You know, the other you was a lot more chill. I bet he could actually teach someone.” you say in a chastising tone with your arms crossed.

“‘Other me’…?” Albedo mutters to himself. He sounds confused, but you don’t exactly have time to explain the whole multiverse situation to him. In fact, it’s probably best that you evacuate the immediate area, just in case Albedo’s got backup coming.

So without further ado, you solidify the ground before you, curl up into a ball and roll on out of there. After all, you need to find Red before Albedo does.

--------------

Over the next few minutes, you rapidly switch between alien forms as you search the facility for any sign of your friends. Some of them are entirely new to you, but their introduction was far too brief for you to fully grasp the scope of their abilities. But you think that you managed to come up with some cool names! You’ll have to test them out later if you still have them.

You’ve become Spit Wad!
You’ve become Retrofit!
You’ve become Bug Byte!

Every now and again, you’d run into a patrol of guards, only to be chased around by them, or immediately mop the floor with them, depending on the alien. Currently, you’ve been transformed into Diamondhead, one of your personal favorites.

But eventually, you come across a locked door at the end of a long hallway with the words “Medbay” plastered over it. Either your translator is still working properly or your Mandarin is getting better.

Allowing your curiosity to get the better of you, you shove your fingers in between the heavy steel doors and pry it open with your overwhelming might. But the moment you do, a barrage of plasma bolts slam into your chest, knocking you back ever so slightly and leaving the door slightly ajar.

Upon peering into the room, you spot a middle-aged man wearing a suit and pointing a blaster pistol at you. And next to him is Red’s Mom, kneeling down in front of an operating table. Her jacket is slightly torn and she has a small bruise on the side of her head, but she seems otherwise healthy.

“Wait, hold your fire!” she demands while raising a hand to alert the man beside her. Her eyes go wide as soon as she recognizes you.

“But, Vice Chairman-!” the man complains. However, she quickly corrects him with a scowl and a sharp glare in his direction, leaving him with no choice but to stand down and lower his weapon.

“You. You’re X, correct?” she inquires, addressing you now. “Are you somehow involved in this? The timing of all this is rather convenient wouldn’t you say?” she asks in a needlessly suspicious manner.

“Trust me when I saw this, but-” you grunt while squeezing through the door, creating a small shower of sparks as your crystalline body scrapes against the metal. “I’m about as confused as you are, but I’m still gonna need you to answer some questions. You see, I really don’t like being left in the dark.” you state while looking down on her. Your imposing size is starting to make her bodyguard a little nervous. But the Chairwoman on the other hand, doesn’t flinch in the slightest. She instead narrows her eyes at you and crosses her arms.

“What would you like to know?” she asks.

>”Why is there a crazy alien named Albedo running your facility and ordering your soldiers around!?”
>”You didn’t create Red’s Omnitrix rip-off by yourselves, did you?”
>”Why do I get the feeling that this is somehow your guy’s fault? That seems to be a popular trend with shady governments."
>”Why’s this guy still loyal to you when everyone else isn’t?"

>”Is there any backup we can call, like the rest of Red’s team?”

Just from putting context clues together, you manage to paint a pretty disturbing picture in your head before you even get to ask your question. “You didn’t create Red’s Omnitrix rip-off by yourselves by yourselves, did you?” you ask while narrowing your eyes.

For a moment, the Chairwoman’s eyes go wide as she averts her gaze from yours out of shame. “You are...correct.” she admits. “Many months ago, we intercepted an alien craft that crash landed into the Kowloon Bay. Inside, we found the alien called Albedo, along with multiple components that we believed could be used to create a powerful weapon.” she continues.

“Why am I not surprised?” you sigh while shaking your head from side to side.

“You do not understand. We did not have a ‘hero’ to save us from the Incursean invasion! If we did, then my husband would not have-!” she shouts, before catching herself. She takes a moment to clear her throat and regain her composure before speaking again. “We were at their mercy before they had ordered a full retreat. So when we discovered that we could create a device similar to yours, it was not a very hard decision to make.” she declares. “His knowledge was invaluable in the Harmonitrix’s creation, but we were closely monitoring him at all times. How he took control of our facility is beyond me…” she sighs.

After that brief explanation, your attention is brought to her bodyguard, who’s been assessing you ever since you entered the room. “Why’s this guy loyal to you when everyone else isn’t?” you ask the Chairwoman.

“Oh, him? This is Jung Woo. He’s my half-brother and my personal attendant. I rarely go anywhere without him, whether by choice or necessity.” she groans.

“Just be glad that I’m still on your side. That alien freak can’t buy my loyalty.” he proudly proclaims. “Uh, no offense.” he adds after remembering that you’re still in the room.

“Speaking of family, where’s Red? Is he okay?” you inquire.

“That is what we would like to know.” Officer Woo sighs.

“We were separated during the attack, and I am currently unaware of his whereabouts. But without his Harmonitrix, I doubt he would fare well against a fully trained, well armed military force.” Jing states with a voice full of worry and doubt.

“Then we’ll have to find him fast.” you declare. The Chairwoman nods to you, drawing your attention to the bruise on the side of her head. “How are your injuries? Do you need to lie down for a bit?” you ask with a concerned expression.

“No, I’m fine. We cannot afford to relax now.” she says while rubbing the bruised area. “But...thank you. Your concern is deeply appreciated.” she mentions with a slightly softer expression than before.

(Cont.)
>>
“My sister’s a tough nut to crack, hero. She doesn’t like to let herself feel vulnerable.” Officer Woo laughs.

“Woo!” the Chairwoman scowls. But her tantrum is fairly brief, due to the intervention of a peculiar signal that she receives on her communicator.

“What’s wrong?” you ask.

“It’s a distress signal. And...it’s coming from my son…” she gasps.

“It could be a trap.” Officer Woo suggests.

“I am willing to take that risk.” the Chairwoman declares with unshakeable conviction.

“Yeah...I wouldn’t want to lose my cute little nephew either.” Woo sighs. “But if we’re doing this, we’re gonna need more firepower. Specifically, the kind that’s locked up in storage unit GB-107.” he adds.

“We don’t have time for that. X should be more than enough to protect us.” she states. It’s gonna be real awkward when she figures out that you broke the Omnitrix.

What do you suggest?

>”She’s right. Red’s safety takes priority over everything else. We have to stick together."
>”Do you think you can grab that equipment on your own, Woo? If so, then you should do so and meet back up with us.”
>”I’ll go by myself. If it is a trap, then I’ll have an easier time getting out of it on my own.”
>”What’s so important about the equipment in that storage unit?”

“What’s so important about the equipment in that storage unit?” you ask out of genuine curiosity.

“Several months ago, our lab technicians created a prototype suit, not unlike the one worn by Carl Nesmith.” Jing explains.

“You copied Captain Nemesis’ suit!?” you shout in disbelief.

“Yes, but it has never been properly tested. There are far too many uncertainties at this point in time.” she adds.

“While I appreciate your concern, we do not have the luxury to worry about minor glitches and malfunctions.” Woo casually mentions.

“This isn’t a joke, Woo. That suit might kill you!” Jing exclaims.

“I’d rather die by piloting a high tech suit, instead of being gunned down by my own men because a frog told them to do it!” he yells back.

“Do you think you’ll be able to handle this by yourselves if you both head to the storage unit?” you inquire.

“I won’t deny that it’s possible, but what about you? Will you not need help?” the Chairwoman asks.

“I’ll go by myself. If it is a trap, then I’ll have an easier time getting out of it on my own.” you proclaim. But in reality, you have absolutely no faith in your Omnitrix in its current state. If you mistransform during a fight, then you won’t be able to protect anyone if you get the wrong alien.

Jing Fei lowers her head for a moment, before meeting your eyes and giving you a firm, understanding nod. “Very well. Just be careful.” she requests as she and Woo turn to run out into the hallway. “And please...protect my son.” she adds in a tone filled with sorrow. But frankly, you’re a bit offended that she felt the need to ask.

--------------

As you close in on Red’s position, you attempt to contact the real Gwen and Charmy through the Omnitrix’s communications systems. However, you don’t get anything but static back. You’re pretty sure that Albedo shouldn’t be capable of interfering with interdimensional communications, but even you aren’t entirely sure of the extent of his capabilities.

Eventually, you reach the room where Red’s signal seems strongest, and you manage to pry the doors open just in time for you to mistransform into Wildfire. You haven’t used this guy in ages.

“Wade?” a familiar voice asks from the corner of the room. There, you find a battered and bruised Red running up to you with eyes full of concern. You’re specifically concerned about the fact that his Harmonitrix still looks damaged. “What are you doing here? Where’s my mom?”

“She and your uncle are getting something from a storage unit. I wanted to make sure that you were safe.” you declare.

“You can’t be here! Albedo...he’s tracking your Omnitrix’s signal. He’ll find both of us if you don’t-!” he shouts, right before a squad of armed guards burst into the room with rather hefty looking rifles.

(Cont.)
>>
“Too late!” shouts a small alien creature hovering into the room on a disk shaped platform. You recognize them as the Galvan species. “Thank you for leading the boy right to me, human. You’ve been an invaluable asset to me.” he declares. The style of his crimson garb reminds you of Azmuth’s robes.

But you don’t have time to think about fashion right now. You’ve got to protect Red!

What will you do?

>Dive into the middle of the armed guards and take them out with a series of superheated strikes.
>Create a barrier of fire between you and your enemies.
>Pounce on Albedo!
>Strike the ground and send a molten shockwave hurtling towards the guards.

“Get behind me!” you shout as you spit out a jet of flame, forming a barrier of fire between you and your enemies, reaching all the way up to the ceiling. And as Albedo's guards shield their eyes from the bright, flickering flames, you pounce through the veil of fire, the embers rolling off of your fur and flying off to the sides before dissipating completely.

The action is so unexpected that none of the guards are prepared to intercept you, allowing you to jump right past them and head straight for Albedo. In the blink of an eye, you snatch the irritable Galvan out of the air, tossing his hovering disk aside and clutching his frail frog-like body between your paws. “Yup, that confirms it. Our Albedo is way better. After all, he’d know that a few guards wouldn’t be enough to take me down. Even with a handicap.” you pretentiously gloat. “What now, smart guy?” you say in a mocking tone.

“You truly are predictable.” Albedo laughs, showing no sign of struggle whatsoever. But just then, his face becomes segmented, exposing a series of silvery gaps in his grey, dull skin. And before you can properly react, his face opens up, revealing a red bulb-like device embedded inside. And from that bulb, a powerful jolt of electricity jumps onto your wrist and travels up your arm, until it envelops your entire body, paralyzing your muscles and setting your nerves alight. Soon enough, you collapse from the strain, twitching uncontrollably on the cold, hard floor.

“I knew that you would charge at me like a reckless monkey.” Albedo cackles from the corner of the room, hovering closer to you in a separate disk-shaped platform. He looks nearly identical to his mechanical counterpart. “That is why I had prepared a decoy to deliver a powerful electric shock, should you manage to breach my defenses.” he explains. “But now I see that you and Azmuth share a critical flaw. Your hubris blinds you to all other possibilities presented before you. What a pity...” he scoffs as he floats past you. Your muscles scream in pain with even the slightest movement, and you can’t bear to budge from where you lie.

“Now, where were we?” Albedo asks as he phases through the wall of flames that you created, miraculously emerging on the other side, completely unharmed. It would seem that his platform managed to project a force field to deflect the flames.

“What do you want from me!?” Red screams.

“Settle down, child. I do not wish to harm you. For I have chosen you to be my protege.” Albedo reveals with a snarky grin.

“Y-you what?” Red inquires, clearly flabbergasted by this shocking revelation.

(Cont.)
>>
“Do you truly think that you managed to slip past this facility’s defenses, breach the containment facility without being noticed, and acquire the Harmonitrix all by yourself? It was only through my intervention that the watch latched onto your wrist, permanently bonding itself to your genetic code.” Albedo declares.

“No...that’s impossible…! You’re lying!” Red cries out.

“I beg to differ. From the start, you’ve always been dancing in the palm of my hand.” he proclaims as he pulls out a circular device that looks incredibly similar to the one that damaged your Omnitrix. “Due to your ‘freak accident’ from before, I have the entirety of the Omnitrix’s genetic library recorded onto this disk. So long as you swear obedience to me, it shall be yours.” he states while offering it to him.

“Why do you think I’d want something like that?” Red inquires.

“Because it will give you the power to take vengeance on the species that killed your father. I speak, of course, of the Incursean Empire.” Albedo proposes with a conniving grin, causing Red’s eyes to go wide. “Just imagine. The world could be yours. You can turn this decrepit rock into a ‘Red’ planet, with your country’s government ruling over the rest of these pitiful Earthlings! You will be the second most powerful being in the universe!” he shouts. “Second to me, of course.”

At this point, Red looks to be on the verge of tears. His fists are clenched tightly, and his teeth are grinding against one another in frustration. “Need I say more?” Albedo asks with a smug smirk. Your heart nearly sinks as Red reaches his hand out to grab the disk-shaped device.

However, instead of swearing loyalty to Albedo, Red shoots a fiery glare his way and delivers a spinning kick to the hovering platform that Albedo’s on, sending him flying off into the distance, screaming all the while. “Sorry, but I’ve got bad experiences with frogs.” he proclaims as he assumes a defensive posture.

“Proud of...you, Red.” you wheeze with much difficulty. But suddenly, Albedo abandons his hovering platform, hopping off of it and clearing a considerable distance as he sends himself flying towards Red.

“I created you, and I can destroy you!” he snarls. But instead of landing on Red’s face, Albedo slams against Red’s watch, sticking fast and creating an unusual energy fluctuation as a result. Upon closer examination, it would seem that Albedo is wearing a Red Omnitrix as well, albeit an extremely tiny one. And both of these devices have become interlocked with one another, seemingly inseparable as Red struggles to shake off the evil frog creature.

(Cont.)
>>
And in a flash of blinding light, you see a rather extraordinary change occur. Albedo’s body suddenly grows larger, matching Red’s in size and scale, mirroring his appearance almost perfectly. However, his hair goes from dark brown to snow white, and his eyes maintain that deep shade of red that he possessed as a Galvan.

Just then, a deafening explosion rings out throughout the room, causing the floor beneath you to collapse and sending all of you hurtling down what seems to be a bottomless abyss. Your consciousness fades as you fall, finally allowing you some form of respite after this hectic day.

---------------

When you open your eyes, you find your mouth to be extremely dry, and your bones ache from the impact of hitting the bottom of this pit. And if you feel this terrible, then you can’t even imagine how Red fared in his fragile human form.

“Red...where are you, buddy?” you groan while rubbing the back of your head and scanning the surroundings of this dark, damp cave that you’ve fallen into. It would seem that you’re still stuck as Wildfire, since your night vision is impeccable at the moment.

“Uh...Wade?” says a familiar voice. And as you trace it back to its origins, you’re met with a rather peculiar sight. Red is perfectly fine, having taken no damage from the fall. But currently, he’s stuck to the side of a wall, hanging only by the tips of his fingers and the flat of his foot. Something that no human should be capable of. And that’s when you notice it.

The rectangular pupils in both his eyes, resembling those of a Galvan.

“What’s going on…?” he helplessly inquires.

>>>Time:??? Date:???

On a warm summer night, Carl Nesmith spends his time alone, drinking his weight in liquor and lamenting over the poor life choices that he’s made up until this point. His hero career had taken a massive dive after being arrested twice, for the sole purpose of collaborating with criminals and psychopaths. Looking back on it, vengeance based on petty jealousy wasn’t worth sacrificing the integrity of his career. As usual, his massive ego had blinded him towards what was truly important. He had forgotten what it meant to be a hero. And now, Carl was willing to start over and make things right.

...Right after he gets back at X for embarrassing him, that is. That kind of shame won’t just go away. And like every other negative emotion in Carl’s heart, it festered into something ugly and wretched, warping the personality of an honest man and stripping him of his innocence.

Now motivated by the goal of settling his deep-seated grudge with Wade Wakeman, Carl sat down at his computer station, wiped his sweaty hands on his white tank top and cracked his knuckles. He was about to make this Wade kid regret the fact that he’d ever crossed Captain Nemesis.

But before his fingers can even touch the keyboard, time slows to a crawl, making Carl appear to be frozen in place. And unbeknownst to him, a blue, glowing portal is torn open in the corner of his lab, allowing a strangely dressed Kineceleran to enter his private study without being detected.

Taking a moment to examine his new surroundings, the Kineceleran begins scanning Carl’s biosignature, confirming his target and the point in time that he had arrived in. Soon afterwards, he approaches Carl and turns him around in his chair so that he’s facing him directly. However, this is all occurring at such a fast rate that Carl is completely unaware of the Kineceleran’s presence.

Next, the reptilian alien brandishes an odd-looking orange crystal from his pocket and places it in front of Carl’s face. Just then, the crystal projects a concentrated beam of light onto the forehead of the disgraced hero, simultaneously creating additional layers of light over Nesmith’s eyes.

After a few seconds, he removes the crystal and places it back into his pocket, cancelling the beam’s projection and returning Carl to his normal state before the process had ever begun. At this point, time begins to move normally once more. However, Nesmith is still paralyzed from the side-effects of the unusual experience.

And before he leaves, the Kineceleran makes absolutely sure to access Nesmith’s database and erase any and all info regarding “X” or “Wade Wakeman”. It doesn’t take long at all for the Kineceleran to slice through Carl’s firewalls and security systems, being as archaic as they are. His claws glide across the keyboard at blazing speeds, taking full advantage of Carl's advanced keystroke registry tech.

(Cont.)
>>
Once he’s satisfied with his work, the Kineceleran retreats back into the portal, leaving the room exactly the way it was before he had arrived. Soon after, Carl regains consciousness. He doesn’t remember passing out, or moving so far from his computer, so he just decides to blame it on the alcohol.

But out of nowhere, an unwarranted wave of apathy washes over the retired hero, forcing him to put down the bottle for good this time. He doesn’t know what, or who he’d been obsessing over these past few months, but he knows that he needs to make a change. It’s time for Captain Nemesis to try to make a difference in this world for once. It’s time for him to redeem himself.

And that'll be the end of this thread. I'll be archiving it sometime later, but let me know what you guys think of the story so far. I've been waiting a while to get to this arc, and I'm excited to see how it develops from here on out. I was wondering if I had chosen a good time to introduce Albedo for a while now, and I'm sure that you were all wondering what I would do with his character. So instead of making him into another dime-a-dozen villain, I wanted to give him a unique origin that fits the setting of Wade's universe. I wish I could say more about what I have planned for Red, but that would be diving a little too deep into spoilers at this point.

If you have any questions or concerns, be sure to shoot them my way in this thread or on Twitter. I'm always open to give out teasers and lore, so long as they aren't massive spoilers.

As always, thanks for reading and playing this quest with me. Hope to see you guys next time.
