You are Kolinasi Kaiko Whatiri. Slayer of monsters and storms. Rider of the comet. Honored son. And your adventure has just begun. And little do you know the Primarch of the Eleventh Legion Space Marines chapter.

You were able to complete your trials for manhood and to be the Big Man in a way nobody else has done before at an age nobody has before.

You slew a monster that troubled your people. The Big Boy, an electrical eel shark monstrosity that terrorized many people and caused trouble for the local ecosystem.

And you got a new pet, new surf board, and a new set of daggers, the daggers which were made from the teeth of the Big Boy.

Growing up you learned the ways of surfing and to be a Big Man, a leader by example and you have helped out your village by salvaging items and helping to provide food that nobody else could due to your tremendous diving abilities and skills in underwater combat.

You were able to defeat your uncle in single combat faster than it takes to do a haka.

You have become friends with the Big Men, including Jera “Jero” Avidullah, who was one of the first people to find you when you arrived in your pod. Jera intends to help you and take you under his wing when you “go upon the account” privateering and raiding slaver vessels as well as those who would seek to harm your home.

Driven by purpose and knowledge given to you by the Old Man, a ‘Shaman’ and scientist who lives on the nearby island, you seek to overthrow the slavers who take from the islands and with his help seek to close the technological gap between your tribe and them. On the night of your ascension to manhood and, becoming one of the Big Men, you were visited by a group of sea witches- psykers. They seek to bring you to their leader, mother of Morgiana, the witch tasked with gathering you.
>>
>>4708445

When you arrive at the island, the witches file you off. They seem inspired by your recent words, and some of them go off to various points on the island. As you off load your things, you notice that the island, does indeed have fantastic surf, but the weather is bleak and dreary. It is the opposite of your island home. The beach is all stone. The island is either stone, moss, or stunted grass. You can see your breath between the mists on the island but you can’t see the sun through the clouds.

“I was instructed to take you directly to my mother once you got here.” Morgiana says. She doesn’t look pleased. She looks worried. How could this woman be so worried about what her mothers desires are? Is her mother that bad? Is she that disappointing? What kind of woman leaves such psychological scarring that is visible in the very electricity of the person? That the mana is this disjointed? You think about it and she looks at you.

“You are looking at me like how a shark studies a creature out of the water.” She says

“ I am studying your reaction to a family reunion.” You say

“Not everyone has a good family.” She responds. The pair of you walk up a long set of stairs along a mossy path that overlooks most of the island.

Morgiana’s mother, looks somewhat like her, only ancient. Very Ancient. Something had to have prematurely aged her to look this way. Yet you can feel the electricity from her body from the edge of the courtyard around the chair she sits upon.

“Mother I have brought the Warrior from the Bitter Shoals. He is as you described, he fears not the storm nor does he fall to charm.”

“Not even mine?” She says laughing. You are tempted to ask Morgiana, who doesn’t seem more than a decade older than you, how the crone upon the chair could be her mother.

“I cannot tell.” Morgiana says.

“Well than speak Kolinasi, Kaiko Whatiri! What do you see?” She asks

“Well custom dictates, that I know your name, as you know mine I will have to ask it.”

“Kailana, queen of the Island, leader of the witches and lady of the storm. But tell me what do you see?” She says and for dramatic effect she causes lightning to crash about.

“I see an old crone in a chair, playing with the elements and a daughter afraid of her mother.” You say.

The response is instant.

She flings lightning upon you. And it passes over you harmlessly as it has anytime you have encountered it. You are half tempted to fling it back, but hospitality dictates otherwise. So you pop your neck and flex after she does it to you causing a bit of an uproar from the local court.

“Quite impolite to attempt to shock one baring a gift.” You respond.

“Oh? What did you bring to me?” She asks her facial expression changing from one of boredom to genuine surprise.
>>
Lets go!

And I think I have the perfect name for our future Gloriana: Over The Rainbow
>>
>>4708449
“A device that can make a beverage out of any herb, fruit or vegetable. It extracts any toxins from the material put and separates it or any beneficial material and does the same if chosen.” You say putting the gift down.

“What a thoughtful gift! We do seem to brew a lot of teas and this seems like the best way to brew tea! But you didn’t come here to give me a gift. No. Not because my failure of an offspring brought you here, though she completed her task. And I apologize for the lightning I had to be sure it was you. No you came here on your own. You chose to come here. So you answer me, why did you come here? You didn’t have to. You could have easily defeated my daughter and her entourage. Why did you come?” She asks and you look at Morgiana. The daughter looks like she goes through this daily.

The woman is starting to really anger you with her treatment of her daughter and her general lack and utter contempt of hospitality.

_____

Well Kolinasi? Why did you come here?

> "With respect, I came here to meet with a wise woman to talk about an alliance, but I see that I have found an old fool who abuses her kin instead."
> "Are you trying to anger me? I came here to treat with you, but you have been nothing but rude."
> "I apparently came here to give a present to a sad woman who only gets joy from hurting her family instead of meeting a wise woman who may hold a clue to defeating the slavers."
> "I came here to talk to you about ending the slavers, but I see I only met one who enslaves their own family to fear."
> "Mostly because of the surfing, but if you insist on treating my friends the way you do I will have come here to administer a beating"
> "To find people who hate the slavers, who see them as a threat, not a model to be followed"
> "To see what caused Morgiana to behave the way she did on my island, I see I found the answer"
> "I came here to see a woman who can see the future, but if she really did see the future as well as her daughter claimed she would know hers would grow exceedingly short if she keeps with the disrespect of her own family in the face of one who values family highly."
> "I came here to see a woman make herself look like an ass in front of me apparently."

Honestly, I have discovered a new type of music I didn't know I would like through this quest. It's quite nice.

> "I came here to talk to you about ending the slavers, but I see I only met one who enslaves their own family to fear."
I can see this coming back to Kolinaisi's mind once he starts getting to know Angron later

>I came to speak about ending the slavers, and find one who enslaved their family through fear

Whatari does not care for this women I feel. And I would be saying she has more riding on us than we do on her, so if she does know the future then she will stop taking this flippantly

Here's an idea for possible color scheme for the Legion

Went for oceanic scheme (Green-Blue, Bronze, Dark Rubber)

Interesting. There will be a time when you'll get to pick the colors for the legion in character, but I like how you are taking the environment around to be used for the colors.

Nice.
Let me repeat the question I put in the old one since it may have been lost.
Does anyone have any ideas for our legion colour? Blue and yellow for water and lighting? Black for space? Do the Maoi have any significant cultural colour? Do Jera and our tribe?
>>
>>4709075
Not really seeing a need for it at the moment. Legion colours like this though are nice >>4708923 especially because I want to see a marine do a Hakka.

I am wondering if there is a reason as to why they don't pick the "polite theat" option. Just because it isn't interesting or what?

>Swordfish Class Heavy Grav-Ekranoplan
>Born from the myriad of Ekranoplan designs that litter the XIth Primarch's homeworld, the Swordfish lives out a specific niche within the Legion, and those that deign to make use of it, such as the Vth and IXth: A Fast, Heavy attack craft that can slip under the enemies' Radar due to a combination of sheer speed (over 550 Knots) and its low to the ground/water nature of its Ground Effect.
>The reason it is a partial Grav Craft is in part due to its heavy armor and armament
>Armament: 5x Twin-Linked Heavy Bolters (1x between main fuselage/missile bays and cockpit, 2x behind/below the cockpit with one each Port and Starboard, 2x Aft/Stern on the Port and Starboard locations of the tail) 8x Missile Bays (Can be fitted with either 1x Death Strike in each bay, or 2x 'Conventional' Cruise Missiles each)
>Swordfish are to never be deployed alone and should always be deployed in 'packs' of 2-3
>Common targets for these craft are either enemy Surface fleets, Titans, Coastal Cities etc.

You realize that this woman is either testing you or being foolish in the extreme. Why would someone demonstrate such attitude in such a way unless they knew it was to cause some anger. You must approach carefully. If you are to master war, and life you must be able to have some guile. She is like a deep sea predator and has an angle. You just have to find it.

Yet she must also answer for her actions, while seeing how she is testing you.

A friendly reminder, that you are not frightened always works best though. This is like fishing, sometimes you want to anger the fish for it to attack the lure.

“Honestly, I am wondering why I came here as well. I am being polite and abiding by my custom of hospitality. But if you keep being so impolite I have reason to leave if you continue to make an ass of yourself.” You say and the court around you looks shocked. As does Morgiana, one of the witches off to the side holds back a little laugh.

“I came here to find allies, those who hate the slavers. Those who have seen what hell they have wrought. What kind of horrible people they are. I found them on the way here. I get here, I find a mean old woman who enslaves her family and kin to fear. Worse than the slavers by all accord.”

This causes the woman on the chair to give an odd look as if taken a bit back, but you sense that it is somewhat fake she is trying to goad you a certain way.

Then you realize your training as a big man. Sometimes to set up two tribes, you do a marriage. But marriages don’t always work when arranged. Sometimes you have to get the interest in a certain way. Then you spot the lure. It’s the daughter herself. She is fishing. She wants you to be interested in the daughter. She is trying to get you to feel for her daughter. She is trying something here that is a special kind of venomous.

“I think that maybe you are trying to test me. Trying to see my response see if I am some sort of hero or prophecised thing, or some push over, or some puff fish, all bluster nothing to back it save the poison inside it. Heroics do not interest me. I am not some story person here to rescue the girl and sweep her off her feet. I am no push over. I am no puff fish. I am not one to be trifled with. If you are to speak with me, speak plainly.” You say as some of the people around you stand aghast as the woman on the stone chair sits silent. She looks at you as the lantern fish when it realizes that it has been found out.
>>
>>4709929

“You do not appear to me, as you do to them. That much I know. You appear to me as some broken old thing. These men and women, they look at you like some beauty. I can sense the electricity and mana around you. It gives off some field. You are but illusion. But your illusion hides something better than beauty. Wisdom is a real treasure.” You say and she stands up. But before she can speak you hold up a hand.

“Our alliance, our future, is no illusion however. So long as you deal in truths with me. I offer you peace between our people to fight a greater enemy.” You say and she sits down.

“This is different than I foresaw. You- this didn’t happen the way it was supposed to. Perhaps I can treat with you differently.” She says with some authenticity.

“Then deal with truths. I bring you a gift, and offer an alliance. I was told once upon a time, you fought with others against the slavers.”

“Aye. The old knights. We fought with them. We fought off the slavers once. Then they came back tougher with allies. The knights moved on. Or at least they haven’t returned to our aid. What do you offer in the order of alliance? I know your people do not have technology, but they have mighty warriors.” She says

“Yes. We have warriors. But we have a new way to method for technology. I was told you saw the future. Why do I feature in it?” You ask.

“The future heavily involves you! A legion of sons! A mighty warrior. You save this planet. I am happy to forge an alliance with you. I may have to think of it, there may be some terms” She says and you notice her focus on you being a father of a legion. She wants an army. She thinks you will bring it. You don’t think that there are that many people in the tribes though.

I prefer this as we get information on enemies, terms and possibly important facts. The future she saw might be interesting but she already said that things turned out different than she saw.
>>
Maybe the future she saw was the one that would lead to us getting [REDACTED]?
>>
>>4710002
Perhaps but this is an alternate timeline. We probably weren't even supposed to be on this planet.
>>
>Like all the Space Marine Legions, the 2nd was formed from the populaces of the various Techno Barbarian tribes and nation states defeated by the Emperor during the Unification War(s)
>In particular, the 2nd drew heavily from both the Yndonesian Bloc and the Pan Pacific Empire
>Both nations in particular are ironic considering records recovered by the Primarch Kolinaisi which brought to light the origins of the first waves of immigrants of De’lormosa who predominantly came from the predecessor states to the Bloc and 'Empire'
>It can be said that few Legions were quite as suited to their Primarch once they were reunited, seeing as both had developed expertise in Amphibious, Aquatic, Boarding operations and more leading to the Legion's structure and doctrines changing minimally in the wake of their reunification
>In addition, this level of familiarity led to the Legion being welcomed warmly by the De’lormosan people which was returned with fervor on the Legion's part
Just an idea that struck me.
>>
>>4710079

>Ruatepupukens
>The Elite Boarding specialist formation of the XIth Legion
>Named after a mythic De’lormosan culture hero, who after the Sea God stole away fire from Humanity causing mass unrest, starvation and death, dived into the ocean and searched for a month until he found the Sea God's palace.
>Sneaking inside, Ruatepupuke stole back the fire, but also snatched away the God's crown which was the source of his power before setting the palace on fire and escaping
>Befitting their namesake, the Marines hailing from the formation have a preference for thermal weaponry of all kinds (Melts, Flamer, Plasma etc.)
>They are commonly deployed with Terminator armor of all variants to ensure their survival and success
>As part of the myth is explaining the origins of checks and balances to the Kahuna's, they also act as bodyguards and advisors for the Primarch Kolinaisi

>>
>>4711181
Agreed
>>
>>4711241
Actually, that may look to be favoritism if we try to make them the colors of De’lormosa
>>
>>4711257
Guilliman did it and his sons loved it.
Actually I'm sure that's what happened to most primarchs and their legions.
The detractors among our sons would probably complain about any changes we may make.
>>
>>4710856

>>
>>4711291
Could have been some DAoT fuel, or super greek fire, or just some mythological beings doing impossible feats.
>>
>>4711279
I meant more due to the various people of De’lormosa may see it as favoritism

When we unite the planet we need a flag/colors to signify the unification

'Nother blurb
>De’lormosan Industries
>Since its integration into the Imperium during the Great Crusade, De’lormosa has become a galaxy renowned system of shipwrights, ranging from the mundane Aquatic, to Warp capable Battleships and everything in-between
>So important has its industrial output become that the Adeptas of the Administratum, Muniotorium, and Navis Imperialis in particular have spent great effort to protect it and that is without getting to the XIth Legion and its descendants' fervent protection of their mother world
>Its skill and output in shipmaking alongside its populace long since acquiring the 'hat' of being natural sailors has gifted De’lormosa with strong ties to the Navis Imperialis, with many famed Admirals, Captains and more hailing from the Ocean World
>>
>>4711350
Hey maybe we can find something like that among all the things people throw on this planet.
>>
>>4711291
He spat such fat bars that the pressure combusted.
>>
>>4711359
That picture reminds me of the Lucrehulk Core ships from star wars.
>>
>>4711359
That makes sense, although the flag of De’lormosa and the symbol of our legion should probably be different.
But giving them a mixture of Jera's and our Tribe's colour and flag would make sense, after all he and the chief arenour fathers, and the legion our sons, so it belongs to them all.
The 11th legion is going to end up being incredibly wholesome and comfy if Kolinasi stays the way he is.
>>
>>4711350
>>4711363
>>4711291
One theory in-universe that is held among those that are knowledgeable is that what Ruatepupuke fought was an Abominable Intelligence and won somehow
>>4711359
>Hover-Craft
>Aside from their skills as shipwrights, De’lormosa is also well known for their development and creation of Hover-Grav Craft.
>As seen with the Swordfish >>4709785 De’lormosan Grav-Craft do not use full Grav-systems like the Land Speeder, Grav-Rhinos etc. But rather use combinations of Aerodynamics, Turbofans, Aircusions and more in unison to reduce cost and complexity for repairs, maintenance and survivability
>While this has meant that many regard such 'Half-Gravs' as juryrigged or 'Pedestrian', the Astra Millitarum in particular has made great use of the various designs that De’lormosa has leased to the various Hive and Forgeworlds across the Galaxy making them a fairly common sight
>Common models are the Archerfish Light Hovertank (1x 105mm Recoilless Rifle w/heavy Stubber), Shoal Stoat (Grav/Hover Chimera derivative)

>>4711172

" What are the terms of an alliance between your people and ours? You can either foolishly stand against the waves, or be lifted by the rising tide. The choice is yours." You ask the woman and she stands up and starts to slowly walk down. You already have an idea, but your not sure that you like it.

“The rising tide lifts all boats. We stand with you. Not against you. You speak of family, you speak of joining our tribes. Our people need blood ties. We need to be.. bonded.” She says making a gesture with her hands bringing them together.

You raise your eyebrows to look surprised. You can almost be certain she is going to try to use her daughter like some bidding chip or some prize.

“Well, I speak of marriage naturally. Of my daughter.” Here it comes but before you can open your mouth she puts up a finger.

“But not to you. No. Nothing personal. I know the future. I know what your real father did to you. I don’t think it would be wise. No. I will send my daughter back among your people to pick a suitor.” She says. Surprising.

“Well these are terms that would have to be agreed to with the other big men. Our alliance, what do you offer?” You ask.

“Our vehicles. Also your own personal guard. Those that watched you earlier. We will try to fight by your side. However, we will need access to your technology as well. And your sharp mind.” She says motioning for you to walk with her. Her daughter looks at you with a confused expression, that to be fair matches yours.

“I can offer my experience and expertise but there are probably more suited individuals.” You say and she lets out a strange sigh.

“Don’t give me that. I see the currents of the future. Yours are constantly shifting and changing, but things are so different from what I saw before. You know a bit, I bet if I broke the grav board you brought you could fix it with improvised tools. Though- it seems that healing the sick and wounded seems also on your path. Quite strange.” She says.

“Well, how many vehicles are there?” You ask.

“You have that big ship at home. You will, with our assistance have 3 Ground Effect Vehicles to assist, and a few smaller fast boats. I assume that you will shore up our defense as well as your own at bitter shoals?” She asks.

“If we can gather the resources. It will be difficult.” You say and realize there was a few vehicles you could design that would help and this Ground Effect Vehicle concept, could perhaps, make things work easier.

“Speaking of this. Another part of this pact, requires you to send people to teach us to fish in your way. What we can fish here will probably help us greatly.” She says.

“I see, another condition. What other conditions exist to this Alliance?” You ask
>>
>>4711525

“When I die, I wish to be placed in your peoples volcano. Additionally, I wish my island to be equal partner to the tribes you ally with that means I wish to authorize targets for the privateering that you conduct.” She says. This is complicated. These terms seem fair, but to be safe you should bring her back.

“I will of course, be happy to consult with the Big Men on this.” She says, before you can open your mouth. Worrying you about what she really can see.

“That would be wise.” You say

“You can survive the storm, quite impressive on your own right. I had to know.” She says confirming your theory of her testing you.

“I have you another question. These ancient knights what can you tell me about those who fought with you against the slavers.” You ask.

“I haven’t seen a knight since I was a small girl. If you could find them, they would make a powerful ally against the slavers, however their numbers are probably decreased. I imagine they are still in the same place they once were, but you are going to have to earn their aid. For my tribe it is easy. I have seen the future, I know allying with you is the smart move. Them though, I can see it, but it will be very difficult.” She says clinching her teeth looking off in the distance and exhaling deeply.

“You can really see me for who I am can’t you.” She asks looking at you.

“Are you asking me to judge your appearance?” You ask.

“Careful.” She says.

“You look like a grand matron of my tribe, the hair is different though, you look a little slimmer too.” You say and she once again scoffs.

“Well thank you for the brutal honesty. To come back to your question of the Knights. They will find you, before you find them. Make enough noise and they will find you.” She says.

“Ask your next question, I am sure you are busy.”

“Whom would be so vile that they would ally with those who enslave others.” You ask.

“An ancient evil. A powerful evil. They call themselves the Drukhari. They aid the slavers, only occasionally and they came in with the dumpers. The Drukhari get a perverse glee in how the planet is polluted. They aid the slavers in, their dark crafts. Flesh Craft. Mind Craft. The price the slavers paid for this alliance, I dare not consider it. If you can unite all tribes, the knights, and us- we may stand a chance. It will be difficult.” She says as the pair of you walk.

“ I will be the rising tide that lifts all our tribes. I realize that now.” You say and she nods.

“You will be asked to pick banner colors when you return to the bitter shoals. I am giving you four of my girls as guard when you return with my daughter. I suggest you pick quickly.” She asks

“How much time do I have here, before returning home?” You ask.
>>
>>4711527

“How much time do I have here, before returning home?” You ask.

“The trip is a long one. It would be best for the trip in the morning. I ask you select your guard before sunset.” She asks

“How can you determine the sunset in such a dreary place?” You ask and she lets out an authentic laugh.

“It is beautiful when it does. You’ll see. I confer hospitality upon you.” She says.

You still don’t trust her. She still treats her daughter poorly, but you feel that she will abide by the ancient rites of hospitality. There is much to do on this island before sunset. Where to begin.

Ok. So Because I know everyone is going through this and coming to the favored portion of painting the legion.

When you return to the village you will be given banner colors, however since it has been a popular question.

Banner colors are are as follows

Copper (Jera)
Bronze (Ravi)
Light Blue of the ocean (Ravi) (Like the poster ID of the one I'm responding to)
Black of the night sky
Desert Tan of the sand
Whale Bone
Seafoam Green (Jera)
Sunrise Orange

>>4711621
So if we went maximum family it would be a teal and cyan with a brass finish? That could work.
>>
>>4711648
What is chosen is yet to be seen. De'lormosa is tropical, so it would be reflected in the popular colors.

But it's up to what you guys want. There will be many color options.

Well of course those who aid the slavers are the Dark Eldar. Don't know what was I expecting. Not that it's bad though(other than they will be difficult opponents). We will probably be pretty close to Vulcan in the future due to this. I also wonder if we can train our warriors and the witches to use combined tactics based on their abilities. We will have to make everyone trust each other though.

>>

>>
>>4712424
Chapters are only after the the Blue Asshole writes his book.
For now it's 30k and the marines are in legions, so your write up is great.
>>
>>4712469
>Each Chapter is descended, in one way or another, from the twenty original Space Marine Legions founded to wage the Great Crusade -- in fact, the term "Chapter" began as one of several names for a roughly thousand-strong division of Marines, as a thousand Marines was few enough to be logistically manageable while numerous enough to handle almost any situation, especially with the assistance of their Imperial Army regiments. However, some Legions preferred to operate at full strength all the time, especially the Sons of Horus (judging from the books, the Vengeful Spirit housed the Legion's whole first ten companies) and the Death Guard (operating most of the time as a single force of ~90k+ marines). It says something about the sheer manpower of these armies that large portions of the Legion were often benched during a campaign.
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Space_Marine_Chapter
Chapters can work here, so around 30,000 Marines get first dibs

Maybe 30,000 is all they would have or just enough for 29 full Chapters but they decided to form a 30th from volunteers from each Chapter?

The island is different. The ground is hard, save for the moss which grows around rampantly, more so than any grass. The island is bigger than "bitter shoals" as they keep calling it, but you think you could walk it. As you walk around you find the locals. Not all of them are witches. Not all of them are women. They actually seem quite keen to meet an outsider. The plantlife has a lot that you can identify that would be medicinally helpful and your shoal stoat seems enjoy the weather here. You run into one of the witches from before when your shoal stoat catches her scent and bounds over to her.

He probably smells weakness- the weakness of giving food...

The 'witch' and also apparent warrior, Gela. She is doing some rough sparring with a younger man. She stops everything to play with the shoal stoat.

Naturally she also has some food which she offers.

"Explorin the island huh?" She asks and you nod

"I guess you are probably also looking for people to be your guard." She says playing with the shoal stoat.

"You have any recommendations?" You ask.

"Take only people who want to go, continue your walk about, but this island has had more than enough toil from losing people who don't want to go places voluntarily." She says.

"I wouldn't do it any other way" You say.

"If you need a volunteer, I'll go." She says and her sparring partner gets up and looks at you.

"Hello!" The younger man, looks younger than you. He would not be asked to take the rites he is so young.

"Hello!" You say back.

"This is my brothers friend tommy." She says. Her brother was taken, and Tommy, is still very young.

"I thought the slavers only come around occasionally, they would have had to taken" and before you can finish tommy looks down, and she puts up a finger

"The slavers themselves come rarely for their 'tithe' raiders. Raiders who want to avoid the tithe and offer up captured people to the slavers for profit and to save their skins. That's who took my brother." She says.

Good Morning!
__

You note her enthusiasm but before she turns to go and you continue exploring the island you pause her.

"Wait." You say.

"Find me three good women. The best you got. Volunteers only." You say. And she smiles nods and runs off.

You come to a path leading to a gigantic local stonewraught structure. It's the first of it's kind that you have seen. It's mostly collapsed and caved in parts, and you can only imagine the size of the structure at it's peak.

You walk inside and see big murals and statues of large figures. They aren't human. They are clearly machine, some kind of walker construct. Or at least that is what you think from the pod. An important part of warfare, and a good advantage to have.

"Those are your knights." A man says in a nearby corner.

"You heard me earlier?" You ask.

"Aye. I did. Those. Life size replicas of em."

"Those are massive." You say

"Aye. They left this isle ages ago. The stone houses that they have however, still stay. They are nice and warm in the winter, where they aren't collapsed. We don't live up further north closer to the equator like you." The man steps out of the shadows. He is of red hair, and he has a patch over one eye.

"There are more stone houses like this?" You ask.

"Aye. We even started making our own. Good in a storm." He says.

"You live here?" You ask

"No friend. I take care of it. My house is down the way a bit. Built it myself." He says with no small amount of pride and a smile on his face.

"You have family?" You ask and he nods.

"One of the few that does. My wife and child haven't been taken. We have been blessed in the raids. We live a bit further inland and on a hill. So we have fair warning." He says.

"I am Kolinaisi Kaiko Wahtiri. Who are you?" You ask and he comes out of the shadow

"Karlan. Stonewright of these parts." He says.

You trade grips with him. He has calluses on his hands and a firm grip. Your father would note that this is good as he looks like he has been a fight or two.

"Karlan can you show me around this island, I don't really have a guide, while it is easy to navigate it would be nice to have a local show me the sites." You say and he nods.

___
>>
>>4715165

He guides you for a little ways to a place called a ‘pub’ where a man is outside serving some kind of meat product, he called mutton that is served on a stick. It tastes good. Different. Your pet likes it. A lot.

He guides you the prime village where you see Gela is talking to a few different girls. Most people are interested in your tattoos or you in general.

Then you see the port.

Many boats. More than your island. Different ones. And two of the Ground Effect Vehicles, that you were informed of.

“I rode in on one of those.” You say and he chuckles.

“What?” You ask.

“I used to pilot them. Kind of hard to with one eye.” He says and you nod.

“What is it like? Piloting a big ship or Ground Effect Vehicle.” You ask

“Boat, boat is nice. Boat is simple. So long as you know how to navigate and got yourself a decent crew. If it’s less than four people and a big boat? It will take you all day just to get everything ready and sorted. You only need a few people when it’s ready. Even if it’s an ironside. Those things. Those are something I’ve wanted to pilot. Something without the sails? Makes my day.” He says.

“Then you got one of them GEVS or sometimes if you hear the farthest shoal people, who also have them, call em Eukranaoplanes.” He says and you are curious as to how he could say such a confusing sounding word. GEV sounds easier.

“Totally different game. One man to fly it. And I do mean fly it. It’s like flying. You want a back up captain though because of how hard it can be. Servicing it? One man. My Daughter: Allesandra, she can pilot and repair it. Without witch craft.” He says more pride coming to his voice. You can tell he is a proud father.

“You teach her?” You ask as you both stop in the middle of the port near the dockside

“Yeah. She learned really well.” He says. And you smile. You let your shoal stoat friend out to play a bit, but she seems mostly content to just perch on your shoulder and observe.

“This your town?” You ask

“Yeah. The witch colony is further that way, where the ancient mother lives, you met her no doubt. We mostly live here and scattered throughout the island and have a pub in each town.” He says

“How big is it?” You ask

“It’s one of the bigger islands on this big blue ball we call a planet. It’s so big we got a lake, with an island, with a lake on that island.” he says which causes you to think for a minute and think in comparison to your island chain. There is one island that has a lake.

“Do volcanoes count?” You say and he laughs.

“Aye. We have one of those too.” He motions off in a direction.

“How long are you staying on our island?” He asks

“I leave tomorrow.” You say

“There is much for you to do then before nightfall!” And he pulls out a map.

The only things in humanitiy side that could fight against Deldar and raiders with advanced technology and be called knights are either the titan houses or spacemarines, and the laster didn't exist back then.
>>
How do the knights operate on De’lormosa anyway? Can't be too much land with all the water which could hinder them.

Do they make use of air cushion craft so the Knight Titans can stand on them while fighting? Or do they have Dom-esque hover systems integrated into the nlrgs of Titans?

I was wondering about something and I'm not sure if it's been considered yet or not in the previous thread, but what if instead of a Librarius we take this tribe of witches to act as our legions Librarians? They wouldn't be augmented but they would act a part or as the only members of the librarius
>>
>>4716377
That'd be an appalling idea. Like completely, since you are A) providing no support or teachings to the psychic marines that turn up within our legion, B) outsourcing our legions information, records and history to a human auxiliary group with a dynastic and hereditary membership rather than one based on loyalty or merit and C) Marines are just stronger and better psykers, so you are also denying us superior troops.

___

You pick up your surfboard and start walking towards the nearby surf outside the little sound where the waves are, actually perfect for surfing.

"Stonewright, you surf?" You ask Karlan and he smiles

"Nah, not this time of year. Too cold. Maybe in a few months." He says.

"Suit yourself." You say and you thank him for guiding you around.

You put your new friend on shore, and tell her to stay. She stays, but you think it's because she wants to nap.

You paddle out, and it is indeed cold. It's very bracing but it doesn't bother you. It's nice and brisk, like a cup of chilled water.

The waves, they are monsters. Massive waves for you. You would be surprised if anyone save your uncle or Rawiri would try these waves. But you do. The pipeline that forms around you as the waves break. The ocean here is darker than your home. The stormy weather doesn't do much favor, or at least the dreariness. As you cut the waves, you decide to fully test the limits of your new board and it's plating.

You find one of the larger waves, and you ride up it, and you are soaring. Well temporarily. You feel much joy in the short bursts up you have. And as you make another attempt you notice that a small crowd has assembled on the shore to watch you. You put on a "little show," as your father would say and do some harder tricks, leaving the board entirely once and doing a handstand, which is extremely hard on the new board. When you come to shore a few villagers come up. And they all want to talk to you.

You are able to learn a lot about the town and the island at large.

The villagers live hardy lives. Their daughters, almost without exception, are warp touched except every generation there is one born called “The Weird” which you find kind of insulting, that is banished. In their words, they don’t have any mana. None. You find it odd. And you ask about the person, but they do not talk much about the subject, so you move on. You talk about the rest of the island.

There are many towns, and you think but are not sure, that this town has the best “pub” according to the locals who are eager to have you try things.

Apparently outsiders from your particular tribe are incredibly rare.

You ask about the witches, and essentially, they are trained and exceptionally disciplined from birth. As they were told if they were not, incredibly bad things would happen, and the fae would try to take them away.
__
>>
>>4716685
You have no idea what the ‘fae’ are, but you are not sure if they are the Drukhari or the slavers, but they sound real enough with the hushed tones the people talk of them in.

You find a woman, who is likely to volunteer named Meera, who is a bit of an explorer, and agrees to return with you back to the stonehall.

During this time she explains much of the culture and technology of the island.

The technology, is, to say somewhat better than yours at least at the moment subtracting the old man from the equation.

They have multiple black smiths, and they have much better housing, plumbing, and other benefits to living on a larger island. They also seem to respect the ocean as much as you do. Their boats, are almost all motorized if they are small, but the large ones seem to have sails. When you ask Meera, she informs you that the island doesn’t have the resources to make engines, nor the technology.

You feel that, if you were to bring the technology here from the dumpers, they could reverse engineer some engines and some of the technology for vessels faster, as they have much more advanced boats.

You go back to the Hall of Knights, and after much examination, you notice something. Not with your sight, but your electrical sense.

There is a hidden door under the largest knight.

You sense out and you work with the mana, and the door opens.

5-1 Ask the stonewright.

___

When the door opens you are tempted to go inside, but you are a guest. It would be wrong. So you decide to go ask the Stonewright.

You go back to the Stonewright, who is at the pub, trying to do some sort of trick and get people to play his game.

You instantly recognize the trick as your uncle would do this to take trinkets and coin from sailors.

"Friend, a hidden door opened up at the Stone Hall. I was wondering if you knew about it as caretaker and if I may be permitted to explore it." You ask. He seems perplexed.

"Well the door was there. It was just that it was impossible to move. I mean even a small child could find the door, but nobody could actually open it." He says, and you can sense him bragging. You think it may have taken him a while to find the door, or a small child found it infront of him

"I did. Albeit unintentionally. I do not wish to infringe upon the rite of hospitality. I will not explore further past the threshold unless you accompany me and allow for it." You say. He smiles and it looks like this has made him feet taller. He looks proud at his position.

"I would love to. However, I have promised I will not leave until someone solves my nail puzzle." He says.

"Nobody has found it out?" You ask and most of the crowd is in agreement.

So you do as your uncle showed you. You line up the nails in a neat little order like the roof of a hut and place the balance nail on the other nails head. Everyone looks like you have conducted magic. Including the witches.

"What do I win?" You ask and the pub is abuzz in excitement and then there is some laughter.

"I will go with you, but first, we must collect the prize." He says, and suddenly there is a drink for everyone in the pub, apparently one for each who tried. You are offered a drink, and you go with the local custom, but you try something local.

You aren't really a fan of the taste, you prefer the drinks of your home, but you drink it all to be polite.

You and now a smaller crowd, the Stonewright, Meera, and a few people from the Pub follow you.
>>
>>4717810
When they get inside the door is still open, and the Stonewright motions for you to go in first.

You go first and the door leads to a set of stairs that goes down for what seems like a long way.

The lighting is still on, whatever it is, be it some kind of gas fire, which you learned from technology.

It goes for several flights, and if you are counting steps, it would be several stories down.

When you reach the bottom there is a lever that flips on and it lights up a large area.

Large machines, benches with tools and papers, various ‘cogitators’ as they were called, and some other matierals. There is a large screen connected to a strange table and cobwebs are everywhere. But nothing like the statues upstairs. It looks like there is space for the statues upstairs down here, but no statues.

>Liek all Legions, the recruitment process for the Astartes to be are fairly varied, though due to the close knit family-like bonds they exhibit they are far less prone to mass press ganging of locals outside of truly horrific losses
>The legion is receptive of all walks of life, whether they're from the Nobles, Hive Gangers or the children of rulers who fought against Compliance and allows volunteers in the majority of cases,
>This focus on quality over quantity has caused a notably slower recruitment rate, though in exchange fatalities during the testing and implantation phases tend to be on the lower end of Legions
>Typically recruits are given the tasks of testing their physical and survival prowess by hunting and slaying one of the local fauna, the deadlier the better
>On De’lormosa, their has been a rising concern over the number of sea beasts dropping which spells poorly both for the testing of recruits and environmental conservation seeing as predators keep nature in check, leading to a new policy of testing recruits as teams to improve bonds as they work together to take down beasts and limit depopulation

Nice work. Maybe they change the trials to teams taking a trophy from a beast instead of killing it outright.

>>
>>4717835
Honestly if it was anything ornamental, it would have to be something that doesn't harm the beast.
The culture of the tribes is to use everything, so stealing something from the beast would have to be something trivial, that wouldn't doom the beast or kill the beast and share it's wealth with the community.

>>

Something like that. If they can do it as part of a team all the better. Without killing it obviously.
>>4717839
I figured that it is always the case unless you specify that we can only take a specific number of choices.

>Over The Rainbow (Frm. Raging Storm)
>The Gloriana class battleship of the XIth Legion, then renamed the Storm Riders once they were reunited with their Primarch
>Starting out as a 'fairly typical' Gloriana, over the 100+ years in service to the XIth it would be upgraded and remodeled to better accommodate the Legion's preferences, in this case would be Planetary Assault and emphasis on Fleet Command
>Additional landing/launch bays were installed so as to deploy the lion's share of a planetary assault, but in most cases the Raging Storm would act more as 'Super Carrier' with wings upon wings of Fighters and Bombrs of all makes pouring out of it both to better screen the fleet and provide additional punch to the Fleet's strike elements

>By the time Kolinaisi was reunited with his Legion, the Xiphon was already beginning to fall behind in performance to newer fighters in the Imperial Army and Navy, most notably the Fury
>But the XIth were never the best equipped Legion, having to make due with what they could acquire or even salvage at times
>As such, the XIth continued to make use of the Xphon, with this model being developed in the years during the Legion's Techmarines and fighter pilots stay on De’lormosa and their mingling with the various Tech-Masters and engineers to deelop a mating of Imperial and De’lormosan technology to celebrate their reunion with their Genesire
>Named after a common sky deity found in myths across the world, the Xiphon-Tawihiri lives up to its name, swift as can be while falling upon its foes like thunder
>The main change in design was the not armament like most would assume, the quad-lascannon and missile launchers were respectable and lethal
>The change came in the airframe, takign inspiration from recordings of their father sky-surfing (or 'Reffing' as it is known locally), with many small Grav-Plates spaced across the frame, affording the fighter unprecedented maneuverability, even allowing it to eschew the need of air-control surfaces for changing direction, and allowing it to bring its weapons to bear more often

>After reuniting with their Primarch, the XIth Legion (Now named the Storm Riders) changed minimally in how they did battle or organized the Legion as per the Principas Belicosa, as Primarch Kolinaisi saw the effectiveness of it seeing as it served his sons well during his absence, and so as too not alienate the Terran Veterans that made up the majority of the Storm Riders' command structure
>The changes that would be seen came in the form of internal callsigns when the Legion was operating alone (This would be put on hold while performing joint ops with other Legions, where they would default to the standard manners of communication to reduce issues), and an increase toward a more fast attack format similar to but still distinct from the Vth Legion, alongside some renaming and specialist formations being made (The Ruatepupukii comes to mind)

I'm here anon.
And I've liked everything you wrote so far.
>>
Good Evening!

>>4719157
That's a good name. We are using it. And sorry, this new job has me really busy.

You walk up to the larger Cogitator bank, and you sense mana to it. You feel it, before you get to it. You know it works.

Like the other new machines that you have seen, it seems, well animate in a way.

You can feel the electricity running through it and you sense the motive of the machine. It wants to serve and be of service. It’s eager.

As you put your hand on it, and you try to sense for it, you realize, it recognizes you. Or at least senses that you recognize it. It’s fairly odd. It’s like an animal almost. As you feel along the machine the power almost directs you to a little switch that you flip on. When you do the bank makes a low noise, a whirring and you feel the electricity off the happy machine. The screen on the front boots up, and you realize that this machine, was meant for directing the security of the stonehall, as cameras come to life in various locations, some unseen. You also realize that it was designed to do something else.

This is not a hall of memory. It’s some sort of place of healing for the machine. This place was designed to fix and repair the knights. It has large facilities, and spare parts even. Though the parts are sparse, you see that there are many guides listed for fabrication and replacement. To your amazement there is even a guide called “improvisation.”

The Cogitator itself, is the most straightforward thing you have used so far. The machine has a simple input board where it’s type to function. The operating system, seems similar to the one on your pod. As you go through it, you can tell it hasn’t been used in a while. While you explore the use of it, you notice that it has access to records.

You also know that the machine is more than that.

The machine is controls for the repair systems.

This Cogitator is an active history of the knights.

Importantly, it is probably the most active list of technology and reverse engineering processes- another neat thing you learned from fabrication book- that you have found sense your pod.

As you look through the data, you notice that this has data on the GEVs, and how to repair them. This may prove useful to Meera.

“Meera.” You say and she looks over to you and you motion her over. She looks at it and her eyes widen. She moves excitedly and bounces up and down a little.

“This shows us how to fix our other GEV that we haven’t figured out! It also shows us how to upgrade it!” She says. You make a fist and extend your thumb and pinky and smile. Meera looks confused but nods.

You walk over to the table. It’s somehow powered.

You feel the mana of the table and- there is something more to it. There is spirit here. It’s excited that things are turning on.
>>
>>4719177
Thank you
>>
>>4719203
You look at some of the tools, they look like they are for repairing metal objects, and fabricating metal. The tools, they are old. But they feel reliable. They are not powered, sort of. They seem to be partially powered. Your charger could take care of them you think.

You follow the mana of the machine to a simple button hidden under the edge of the table. You press it.

Lights are revealed under the table and above the table, as it lights up to reveal a screen! The screen is made out of some transparent metal, and it was meant for aiding of creation of things. You could fabricate unique parts and tools, similar to the ones made here! It looks like this portion was made for making boats-- And your logic follows that means there is a way for boats to get in.

You follow the mana to a hidden switch nearby in an odd spot.

It lights up a small underwater alcove with a very unusual looking boat and a hidden door. That opens to the outside.

You haven’t seen a boat like this before. It looks- sunk. Like something is wrong with it, yet nothing appears wrong. Then it hits you. The warfare you studied. Naval tactics.

A submersible or semi submersible.

“Have you seen one of those before?” You ask and the stonewright shakes his head, as does Meera.

“I have no idea what one of those are.” Karlan says.

“I have an idea, but I may have to examine around it. See if it is what I think it is.” You say. It would be dangerous for them to go and look.

“I am not going to stop you friend Kolinaisi. But, that thing looks really old so be careful.” He says back.

You leap into the water and you swim around the vessel. It’s not huge. It’s not supposed to be. It looks like it was meant for scouting ahead, or from what you can tell, piracy. What is odd- is there is no marine life on it. None. You swim around it rapidly, and nothing. There is marine life around you, but there isn’t the tell tale sign of wear on this, not even a barnacle.

When you swim to the end of it, you cannot even find a propulsion method, however, where the stern and devices to steer are you see odd bits. This thing is very complex technology.

You swim out and leap on to the shore.

“I think it’s a submersible.” You say.

“What does that mean?” Meera asks

“It’s a boat. It goes under water and doesn’t sink. You have boats that float over water, but you have not heard of underwater boat?” You ask and Meera gives a shrug.
>>
>>4719205
You go along the gangplank to walk up to the entrance hatch. You twist what looks like a simple door and it opens in a very similar manner to the shaman’s ship. Maybe he would be able to recognize this.

Inside the lighting is on. You can fit comfortably inside with how big the interior is, which is odd. Considering the small bit on submersible craft was that they were cramped. However, this craft looks like it was meant for only a small crew, so less floors. You find simple quarters, various rooms housing what looks like some kind of internal propulsion method, an engine, weapons, a small social room and a small deck, with steering controls and machines, eager to work. You are tempted to turn things on. However, you can sense they work, but you don’t want to pilot a submersible without even piloting a boat.

It would be kind of funny to captain a ship Jera hasn’t before being on his crew though. You laugh a little at the thought. You exit up quickly.

“It looks functional down there.” You say and the few men there shrug but Meera looks eager to look inside and Karlan nods.

After a few minutes of you waiting near the hatch Meera re-emerges.

“It’s old tech like the GEVS. I think we could find someone who has been on a boat before to pilot it.”

“Well Kolinaisi, you have been on the island for less than a day, and your greatest gift is not what you brought, but whatever luck you have brought with you.” Karlan says with a chuckle. Though to be quite fair, he is right.

These things alone would help their village as much as the old man’s star boat helps yours.

“Well hopefully my luck continues on with our alliance and we are able to do more for others.” You say and you hear a few grunts of agreement.

>1st Captain (From. Legion Master) Arnoul De'Saan
>A rarity among the Legions during the Unification of Terra, De'Saan was a Lunarian from before the Selenar Uprising
>Due to the widespread genetic engineering among the populace, compatibility to become an Astartes was very low making his acceptance and Ascension a miracle
>De'Saan does not wear his heart on his sleeve like his brothers, leaving others to regard him as a cold, aloof and calculating individual, which he claims comes from both his upbringing and possibly an error in his hypno indoctrination leaving him to seem deadend
>At first this made his relationship with his Genesire to have a rocky start until they got to truly know each other

I've always been partial to the Cataphractii myself
>>
>>4720591
It looks cool for sure, but it wasn't a loss of technology that caused it to be phased out of service after the Heresy.
>>
>>4720603
True,

Also I'm tryign to figure out a blurb on Grav Boad Honour Guard for Kolinaisi, but I can't get over how silly it is.
>>
>>4720630
Maybe compromise and have them be on Landspeeders, the variant that usually carries a squad of Scouts? It's still a Grav vehicle, and gives them a good deal of mobility. Plus it'd be good flavour to use flying transports instead of the default trackmania.
>>
>>4720630
Instead of assault bikes and jump packs, the storm riders use highly specialised surfboards.
>>
>>4720734
I'd rather they be supplementary to bikes and speeders and be in the hands of Vets/Honour Guard. But I think only Kolinaisi can get away with riding one into battle because you know, Primarch.
>>4720732
I can see that,
>>
While I'm thinking of the Grav Board idea, here's a blurb on the Legion's Mana/Bio-Electricity

>Mana/"Mark of the Storm"
>An odd mutation found in the Storm Riders that only occured after being reunited with their Primarch, for there had been no known examples of this shown before reunification
>Obviously, one could compare it to the Bio-Lightning performed by Psykers of the XVth or Auxila Primaris Psykers, and there are tests and examinations that show it is partly Psychic in nature
>However, despite this relation the Librarians of the Storm Riders do not seem to develop Biomancy more heavily or commonly than is to be expected
>Possibly the most famous use of this mutation can be seen in both the Apothecar Marines and Tech Marines, the former for its use to stabilizing a patient and the latter for beign one of the closest one can get ot the ever elusive "Technopathy"
>Such an ability has earned the XIth no small amount of Envy from the Iron Hands, Iron Warriors and the Tech Priests of Mars

>Such a 'Blessing' makes coxing and working with Machine Spirits ranging from Bolters and Lasguns all the way to even Imperator Titans far easier
>A peculair part of this mutation allows a Marine to 'Take in' the 'Mana' or bio-electricity/Life force from a target
>One particular application which possibly explains the post-reunion Marines either faulty or underdeveloped Omophaegea Implant is the capability to glean memories from a target without needing to kill them
>Another which has rituallistic/religious connections to pre-compliance De’lormosa is when a Marine dies, their squadmates will take in their mana so their strength and spirit will live on, a practice Primarch Kolinaisi has been cracking down on in the recent years due to possible health concerns to marines taking in Mana

Good Evening!

Sorry I took so long, this update is longer.
--

“Meera, Karlan and I are going to scout ahead briefly, then come back and see what else there is.” You say.

She gives the Shaka

Good on her.

You explore the nearby tunnels, to no real avail. Just looks like good storage.
So you go over to nearby stairs.
Which oddly leads to a room, that seems set up to be some kind of, free time room?

Leisure room?

Break Room?

There are hundreds of books though. Many. In fact, this would probably be some sort of library, if there weren’t so many odd things that indicated dining and resting as well.

Karlan sits in one of the chairs and he looks quite pleased.

You grab a few books as your shoal stoat bounds out of your bag and decides to hunt down a nearby mouse. You shrug as you look through the books, some on poetry, some on technology, a few on war. So you grab whatever is interesting. Including a few on history.

You even find, a larger waterproof bag. Which impresses you enough that you take it.

Karlan then stops.

“No way.” He says.

“What?” You ask.

“In all the stories I have ever read about places like this there is usually some kind of hidden book that leads to a secret compartment. But it doesn’t look like anything.” He says.

So you reach out and look for mana with your senses. You, don’t sense any triggers or trap doors. It’s just a plain room. So you shake your head.

He then finds a very large book and opens it.

“What you find friend?”

“I found their family registry. Or at least this branch of the knights. It may have some clues to where they went.” He says as he picks it up.

The pair of you, after looking at the various gadgets and trinkets in the room leave back to the main hall.

“Find anything?” Meera asks

“Books!” You respond.

“That’s something. I have studied most the things here, there may be a bit more to research if you want Kolinaisi, but it’s going to be a long night. There is decades of data on this table, and some of these things I have trouble understanding.” She says and you nod and come over.

Then you understand why.
>>
>>4720828
It’s all theory books. Most of these are incredibly advanced for her. However, most of these seem like they are attached to a journal of Brother Alfraed Magis a Barron.

Apparently the Barron thought it was pertinent to find, recover, and teach as much information and techonology as possible, and tried to upload everything from every aspect of production on to this table, and the manual how to do it. He also left a hard copy tome, called the – unpronounceable word tome. The spelling is stupid and it hurts you when you look at it. The machine spirit instinctively dims to not cause a headache.

That is new.

This machine spirit responds to your moods instinctively while you are touching it. Curious. It’s Mana and yours are cooperating.

So you see if there is a way to transfer the huge data load to the data slate and it’s impossible. There is just not enough space and the table holds much more data.

To think! All the technology that could help you bring your tribe, all these tribes to competition with the slavers, is on this table. Well most of it. Looking through it, this and the old mans data would probably help out considerably.

“Kolinaisi!” Meera says and you stop what you are looking at.

“Yes?” You ask with a smile

“The table has more data than we can possibly go over in a night.” She says and you feel confused. You just poured over the data. Maybe she means examine it. Because that would be true.

“Meera, I already gave it a basic go over. We need to both have many people learn from this table.” You say and she looks confused.

“What? Why?” She asks

“I went through the data. There is much here on restoring, retaining and rebuilding technology. It shows a good method from going to point a to point b and so forth. Or so it seems. There are many missing pieces.” You say and her eyes go wide

“You just went over all that?” Meera asks.

“Yes.” You say and she just looks at you.

“The tribal surfer.”

“Tribal Surfer Big Man.” You correct her with a smile.

“The Tribal Surfer Big Man. Is able to understand advanced technology. When they live on an island without any base for electricity.” She says.

“Any base for electricity yet!” You say with a smile.

“Many people ask, what the different aspects of the primarchs where to the emperor. Kolinaisi, it depends on who you ask. You ask Malcador, he would say he had the humor and spirit of the Emperor. Any agent of the Mechanicus and he would be the Primarch representation of the Omnissiah with his empathy and understanding of machines. You ask some of his brothers, and the answers would vary, that he was big on nature, that he is calm like the eye of the hurricane he rode in on. He had friends. Many friends. Many would account to this to the fact, he had a very normal upbringing for a primarch. One like a regular human for his time. If you had to ask me though. The lord of lightining had a son of the storm and I was always happy to call him brother.”

“So Old Man. You do this because the village was kind to you, and Kolinasi asked you.” Rawhiri asks sitting down with the other big men, writing notes and putting things to a tablet.

“He gave me an extension on life. He also always brought me good fish and weird things I thought interesting.” The Old Man says pointing out a few different things

“So what is this supposed to do for us?” Chief Kai asks

“Well, for each island and region, you all have different options for power supplies, this with junk searched for and provided by Jera, should give you all power and electricity.” The Old Man says

“We don’t want to grow soft though. Power, electricity- these make men weak.” Chief Eterea says pointing out.

“No. They don’t. They can provide comfort. But man is the only thing that can make a man weak. You use these tools, to help defend. Help save lives. Yes, it may seem like weakness at first, but it can also bring strength. Strength of mind.” The old man says and Chief Ravi stood up

“You give us power, but what we need are guns. We need more than just our melee weapons, and we need everything when the real slavers come. Not these raiders. I have fought back the raiders time and time again. But the true slavers- they worry me. With my son, I am not so worried. But if the slavers come before Jera Green Eyes here comes back, we all dead men.” Ravi says

“No. You will not be. You will stand a chance if we do this right.” The Old Man says

“Old Man- what is your name. You never say it. You say oh I am just some old man, or you’d call me a shaman. How can I trust the future of my people, to a man that I don’t even know their name.” Jera says.

“Back home, they called me Doctor Martin Longorian. I came from an area that was known as the pan pacific. In particular, my old home was known as Maui.”

“Well Docta, fix us up, before we all to dead to be fixed.” Rawhiri says causing a laugh
>>
>>4720833
“So I have written down what we need to go over, what data needs to be transferred, and I am hope I am saying these terms right as I have only recently learned these terms, the yottaflop coggitator output bank which they will be going to.” You say pointing to the largest coggitator bank

“I, am impressed that you did all this, but do you think you can actually do this all in a night?” Meera asks.

“Well I will need to feed my shoal stoat. Though I may go get some fish and squid from that pool near the submersible I may need a snack too. So I might have time for a nap so I can surf in the morning.” You say

“What about the other girls who are going with you? The other witches?” Meera says

This is a good pointing

>Armor Marks of the XIth Legion-The Storm Riders
>From the Unification of Terra to the Heresy
>MK I (Thunder): The Storm Riders still possess at least 3 known examples of this truly anent armor. All are held for ceremonial duties, particularly for the initiation of new inducted Astartes
>MK II/III (Crusade/Iron): The most common and favored pattern of armor owing to its long history and improved performance in aquatic conditions compared to other marks
>Mk IV (Maximus): Due to interference of the Arch Traitor Horus, the Legion was not able to come into possession of many of this mark with the majority being allocated to the Tech Marines and Veterans
>MK V (Heresy): Oddly, this mark has been found in oddly high numbers of the Legion whether by accident, scavenging or modifications as the Heresy sapped resources
>MK VI (Corvus): Owing more to operational doctrines of the XIth, very few examples of this mark can be found in the armories of the Storm Riders, with all known examples finding their way into Seeker Squads or Recon Groups
>>
I never did understand why the Corvus armour is designated as MK VI, when it was given to the Raven Guard for field trials before the Heresy, and should therefore predate the MK V "Heresy" armour.

>The De’lormosan Compact/Concordant
>The Compact/Concordant was formed post reunification with the Imperium after Primarch Kolinaisi was reunited with his Sire, the Emperor of Mankind
>Originally the Compact was located within the sole De’lormosan system, but surveys in the surrounding systems/subsector showed the areas to be remarkably either underpopulated or simply empty of sapient life, Human or Xenos
>Those Humans that were found to exist were typically no more than a Civilized level (Late M2-Early M3 in Tech level)
>Primarch Kolinaisi took advantage of this and sought to stake claims on these systems and colonize them, bringing in the Humans that already existed into the fold, uplifting them and merging cultures
>By the Heresy, approximately 10 systems were being colonized to a sufficient level with immigrants being made up of both De’lormosan and Imperial standard from all manner of cultures

>Impalers
>An in-house/joint development between the Storm Riders and Forgeworld Gaosan to develop a more economical rifle for the Legiones Astartes
>As anyone in the know, the main thing holding back the fleets of the Great Crusade is not enemies, tactical failings or the like but logistics
>Bolts while effective, powerful and versatile are very much an expensive munition to create and transport with consideration going into propellant, explosive charge, inertial fusing and more that drives up cost and complexity for each round and the associated care in handling and transportation
>And that is multiplied an order of magnitude once one realizes how many Bolts an average Marine Company goes through in a month let alone the last 100+ of the Crusade
>As such, Primarch Kolinaisi and his Tech inclined sons and the Techpriests in his fleet began work on a replacement weapon system
>The first step was a fare cheaper and simpler ammunition, the 'Stakes' which could be produced from solid iron/copper cores with a Diamantine tip and Ceramite casing, all common materials and off the shelf ideas
>Additionally, ammunition could be made at a 3-4:1 ratio of Stakes to Bolts and due to smaller size could fit twice or more in the same magazine size as a typical Bolter magazine
>Prototypes showed great promise as range and damage was near equal to a Bolter
>The harder part that nearly brought the project to a halt was the launcher itself: The need of an electromagnetic system was obvious, power could be supplied from the power pack of the average Power Armor and could be supplemented with Lasgun power packs if need be in the stock for onboard systems
>But the need to get ferromagnetic materials for the rails/coils for prototypes in many ways made the net gain for the project to equal with what it was meant to replace: The Bolter
>Unfortunately, much of this development was lost in the Heresy as the Forgeship **** was destroyed by Traitor forces late in the Heresy bring the project nearly back to square one, with only a smattering of examples being found to have survived in the fleet as backups
>>
>>4721668
Coilguns aren't some great mystery weapon to the Imperium, though? 's how Macrocannons work, part of how a Heavy Bolter works and the more advanced variants of autoguns can be magnetically propelled. And besides, bolters already ARE the logistics-friendlier gun for Astartes, which was the reason it replaced Volkite guns as the standard infantry weapon.
>>
>>4721849
What's cheaper anon: A sharpened stake of metal or a rocket propelled armor piercing inertial fused grenade?
>>
>>4721849
And can you give me a source on Bolters using magnetic acceleration? I've look at like 3 sources and found nothing.
>>
>>4721853
It isn't just a matter of cost, though. Even Space Marines only have so much space for carrying ammo, and bolt shells don't have a chance of overpenetrating and not actually killing what they were shot at.

You can shrug off a dart of metal going clean through you and keep fighting with adrenaline as a normal human. Can you shrug off a 0.75 calibre shell that went inside and turned your guts to red mist?

Space Marines and their power armour are themselves the most expensive parts of a Chapter/Legion's combat assets. You're not going to end up saving money/resources if you lose more of either to enemies who don't reliably die when shot by your primary weapon.
>>
>>4721862
Not all bolters, Heavy Bolters specifically. That's why on the Devastator models there's power cables going into the gun as well as the feed belt for the shells.
>>
>>4720834
> Go to the witches village, ask those who wish to volunteer to talk to you, then go surf, take an early nap then go finish up before leaving

Some of our sons space warfare doctrine would be cool.
If they have any tactics that set them apart from the imperial navy or other legions.
You know, something other than broadside firing and ramming, maybe carriers?
>>
>>4722072
Nah, Imperial Navy uses carriers too. The Emperor-class Battleship is a common flagship for admirals, and it's one of the biggest carriers they can build.

For a novel approach to space combat, maybe some real advanced fuckery with trajectories and torpedoes/macrocannon shells fired days/weeks in advance of the battle that then slingshot around to cripple an enemy ship's engines.
>>
>XIth Legion Naval Tactics and Strategies
>Given their mother cultures, during the Unification of Terra and the Conquest of the Sol System the XIth quickly proved themselves among, if not *the* best among the Legions at naval warfare which extended into nautical/amphibious combat as well
>It has been theorized that if all the Primarchs follow Archetypes of humanity the the Xth Primarch, Kolinaisi and thus his sons embody the Sailors and Mariners gifting them a preternatural inclination and skill at handling vehicles of all manner ranging from Stormbirds to commanding Cruisers
>the Storm Riders preferred tactic in battle is to use 'Pods' or Wolfpacks of their fastest ships to operate at the edges of the battle and attack where the enemy is weakest 9These range from picket forces to even space stations) to provoke enemy response and cut them off from reinforcement or to draw them away from the Hammer that is their main force made up of Battlships that strike en-masse in prongs as 'Doomballs'
>Such tactics can lead to a frenzied battlefield as the enemy is disoriented and cut off from one another as they are picked off piecemeal until they are crushed flat under the main force. Though at times this has backfired on the XIth as this requires much cooperation and planning to pull off effectively
>Each 'Pod' also acts as scouting forces that advance ahead of the main fleets to report on potential enemies or bring news on worlds that can/should be brought into compliance, as such they are well equipped to act alone with little chance for backup
>An oddity is how the Legion is well known for its heavy use of Carrier and associated Strike Craft making them also among the best fighter pilots throughout the Legions
>>
>>4722176
I was thinking more like tripling down of carriers, make them be full of aces and shit.

You think about how these witches should be tested. What would be a good gauge for them to volunteer.

Really, they would have to be able to work with your schedule. You don’t sleep like other people do. You work on something until you finish it. Sometimes it’s weird hours.

“Meera, you are accepted as volunteer. Ask the others who want to be, to come here and help me with this, and bring a surf board because we may surf after this.” You say.

“Surf.” She says

“Yeah. This island has really good waves on part of it.” You point out.

“In this weather?” She asks.

“Yes.” You say.

“Will I have to surf?” She asks.

“What have you not surfed before?” You ask her and she makes a nervous laugh.

“What?” You ask, though you think you already know from the answer. She is not that athletic. She probably hasn’t done much swimming, much less surfing.

“I tried once. Did terrible.” She says, which is promising. She is honest, and she actually made an attempt.

“It’s not about how you fall it’s about how you get back on. I’ll teach you to surf better when I get home.” You say and she smiles as you help her get up from looking underneath the cogitator bank.

“I’d like that.” She says.

“Go get the other volunteers. Tell them what I told you. We may have to spend the night here, if we want to make progress on this.” You say she nods and she runs off quickly.

You get back to looking at the files and your Shoal Stoat has decided to take up the hunt into the submarines pool. She comes back with a squid proudly displaying it for you.

“Good girl!” You tell her as you pat her on the head and she starts to make an odd dance around.

You play a few games with it, as you have neglected her a little on this trip. Though she has been tired, it is good to see her active. When she is tuckered out again, you put her back in your bag and look back at the table and the data points.

The Pod you have, the data slate you took, and this, you decide to synchronize some of the data to connect the points.

Or you almost do.

A handful of Witches walk in.

You Recognize Gela, Morgiana, Meera, and another from the ship, the other three, look a little hardened.

“We heard you require our aid.” One of the older, rougher ones says.
>>
>>4722362
“I do. I may be here all night. Did you also bring the surf boards?” You ask and you see someone lagging behind carrying all the surf boards.

“That is odd.” You say

“She is learning. So she helps with these tasks.” The one rough speaker says.

“Is she going to surf for you too?” You say giving a quizzical glance as you look back down at the table.

“No!” The same one says

“Well then why is she carrying the board?” You ask

“She is an Initate! She has barely learned her powers. So her duty is to help the Adepts with various duties to build dicipline and learn.” She says. You go over and help the young, initiate, with the surf boards.

I mean I do actually get why it is done. It's a similar place to the catering industry where the concept of putting in the graft to prove that you are willing and able to handle both the hours and the less glamorous tasks before you move onto better things.
But kolinaski doesnt come from that same culture. So asking about it without insulting them seems like the best move, as well as explaining how we will be doing things.

Considering that only one option can be taken, I guess that means that they cannot be combined normally and most of them besides 1 and 5 seem or can be seen by others as pretty hostile. Even option 1 can be seen as hostile depending on how the rest of the conversation goes. If people want to be diplomatic here, consider these things, although it's just my guess and belief that we shouldn't be that confrontational with them to cement the alliance. What do you think?
>>
>>4722662
It's all in the way it's said in regards to 1.
So your people, DO they lead by example? - add a bit of sass and you're implying that they are inactive or cowardly.

SO your people, do they lead by example? - said neutrally or with curiosity and it is a simple question in an attempt to understand them. Much the same with option 5.

Things like "Do you think it wise" are more like threats and they haven't actually done anything wrong nor should they be expected to know the traditions and quirks of a man they have never encountered before.

And combining options is nearly always an option. It's only when there are time constraints or conflicting goals at hands that they can't
>>
>>4722674
That's what I'm worried about. We can't expect them to have the same principles as us and forcing them to change or being threatening is not a good idea. I just felt that there is not many ways to combine this options as we can choose only one and they seem somewhat conflicting with each other. Some say essentially the same thing in a different way or are equally hostile so there is no point in combining them.

>The XIth always seemed to have an easy time compared to the other Legions in forging relations with non-Astartes Humans
>If one takes Lord Malcador's words on Primarch Kolinaisi being the Emperor's spirit and humor, it makes everything about them retroactively make sense
>They can laugh easier, grieve to the loss of Auxila and can enter conversations naturally
>Their had been much speculation among Genetors and those involved with the creation of the Astartes that there may be some flaw with the Geneseed of the XIth, though it is rumored the Emperor had put a stop to such investigation as other than this the Legion had shown little trouble or problems otherwise that would inhibit their role in conquering the stars for humanity
>Post-Reunification with Lord Kolinaisi, this trait has appeared to both strengthen and become subdued
>Obviously, this has made the Legion have good relations with the Salamanders and later the Raven Guard

You pause for a second. And measure prepare to measure your words. You can think of many things to say that could ruin diplomatic relations.

You are also a big man.

“Forgive me for any culture misunderstanding.” You say as you pick up a surf board.

“I am unfamiliar with your ways. So your people, do they lead by example?” You ask. The witches look at you with a little anger and you can feel their mana rising as you understand how psyker behavior works now. Morgiana looks at you with a grimace and a clear cringe on her face.

“It is understandable for our cultures to be different. Those who are initiates must prove their worth. They must be willing to do tasks like this and others in order to understand the depths of what we do.” Morgiana says

“You must be willing to do some lesser tasks before you literally shoot lighting from your hands. Greta here is new, she knows what she got into.” She says and Greta sort of smiles at you.

You see that you have to tread carefully. It’s kind of disappointing to you. But if she is inexperienced that might be just as bad.

“The leaders and people of my village are expected to act in the hard work as well as the boys. If you are bringing someone who is like this, do you think they can handle working with me and what this entails.” You say

The Rough one who seemed upset now smiles

“Greta, demonstrate your skills.” She says.

Greta is able to move multiple boards, channeling mana and energy with her mind.
“Did Meera explain what I am doing?” You ask and they nod. You breathe out deeply. And you say something that you have had in the back of your mind most of your time here.

“Are you all willing to leave home, your home, your kind, your people- on behalf of following a man you don’t even know based on a prophecy?” You ask. Morgiana looks like she is about to speak but the tall scarred woman steps forward.

“The prophecy that hasn’t been explained to you.” She says

“So I Flora will. A Child will ride a comet from afar, slay a storm- because lightning would not hurt him as the lightning was his friend. He would unite the world, under the banner of the sea and sky. He would clean the sea, slay the dark beasts of the depths, he would banish the fae and free the slaves, he would be the rising tide and a breaker of chains.” She says somehow making the room around her colder as her eyes seem solemn from it. You would guess

“Kolinaisi, this is Flora my older sister and mentor.” Morgiana says.

“Tell me Kolinaisi, what help does someone who slays a great beast like the Storm Eel need of us?” Flora asks.

“If you are doing research and questing around the world, Meera is an amazing choice. If you plan to kill the slavers and the fae I request to take part of it.” She says

“There is more to this then combat. We need to strengthen our people, our technology, our minds and our bonds.” You say.
>>
>>4724115

“I am accountable for this too. I must understand your culture as you must seek to understand mine.” You say and Flora seems to understand this concept and nod a bit.

“I see. You didn’t know if we were treating with her fairly. What, what are you doing her?” She asks.

“I am learning. Cataloging. Trying to contact the information that I already have to this.” You say as you pull out the data slate.

“You seek to give us the same knowledge you have?” She asks in a skeptical tone.

“We all need to be ready to fight the slavers. Technology will help us. Unity and Family will help us. Me being judgmental and on edge will not. Our people worry about yours.” You say and then, Flora lets out a bark of a laugh.

“Oh the tribes to the north, the fierce scary tattooed men, who are as deadly with bone as steel, and who is very being is might made real.” She says making, what sounds like a Haka. Meera giggles a little at this.

“Was that an impression of our people?” You ask in a serious tone, hiding the bemusement and trying to hold back laughter.

“It would have been better had I stomped my feet and clapped first?” Flora asks. Welp. Time to have a little fun.
You leap high into the air and come down with a thud and clap your hands loudly. You pound our fist against your chest

“THIS IS THE CRY OF WARRIOR MEN.” You scream out and you feel the electricity rise as the machines almost hum with you

“STRONG MEN OF THE ISLANDS. FIERCE MEN, BRAVE MEN.” You shout and clap as you stomp your feet and advanced closer making a fierce face, the women jump back. The electricity sings in the air as you almost stoke it on as the table glows brighter.

“WE WILL USE YOUR BONES TO BEAT YOUR FRIENDS. WE WILL USE YOUR SKULLS TO DRINK FROM.” Then at this point you would traditionally thrust at them, but you don’t think that would be appropriate.

“THIS IS THE CRY OF WARRIOR MEN. STRONG MEN OF THE ISLANDS.” You call out.

The women look terrified. Except for Morgiana who realizes that you are making a joke and she laughs a little.
>>
>>4724117

“That is the actual proper war Haka. It doesn’t have to be loud but it needs meaning. It’s meant to terrify. Meant to make you jump.” You say and Flora starts to breathe easy.

“But that is part of my life. Soon I go back to the island, I then go out to sea a privateering. I need someone who can do as I do.” You say looking at them and a few nod.

“And I need four of you. If your Mother truly is giving me an honor guard, they will need to be able to help and assist all our people.” You tell them and they seem to talk to each other

“I am not asking for someone who will get out of my way. I am not asking for someone who will do things for me. I am asking for you to do your best. For you to work to save our very planet. To reclaim the ocean, to stop the slavers, to help all of our people thrive here and not just survive.” You say and they seem inspired.

“I also need people who can surf.” You say pointing to the boards.

“So if that doesn’t sound good that’s fine. I need smart leaders here too. People who can take up the torch for me. So I have yet to hear you speak.” You say talking to the other rough type.

“I am Delia.” She says. So all the women here have names that end with an ‘a’ sound. It’s interesting.

“You like Flora.” You ask

“I am a little less showy.” She says

“Raise your hand if you have known loss to the slavers.” You say. They all raise a hand.

There are six. You must take 4

___
How will you pick

> Invite them to surf, then pick four
> Talk to each of them individually then pick four
> Ask them to tell you why each of them wants to go
> Ask them to list their experiences
> Write in a test for them

Unexpected Haka's are great.

>Talk to each of them individualy
>Ask for their reasons
>Ask their experiences
>>
>>4724118
> Talk to each of them individually then pick four
A warrior, a diplomat, a scientist and the aprentice, that should cover all of our bases.

> Invite them to surf, then pick four

> Ask them to tell you why each of them wants to go

Do a combination of those in order to sort them out and find what kind of people they are. I would have written a test for them but I can't figure out what will be good as a test. It depends on what kind of companions we are looking for. What >>4724483 says sounds a nice idea for a group that accompanies us although what's the specialty of the apprentice?
>>
>>4724492
The idea is that she would be more like a tabula rasa, she brings the potential to become whatever we lack or need during our adventures at the sea.
>>
>>4724498
Although if it's a bad idea, I can support bringing a pilot of one of those flying ships instead, could be useful if we find any planes of hoverboats.
>>
>Talk to each of them individualy
>Ask for their reasons
>Ask their experiences
>>
>>4724498
>>4724501
Maybe it's a good idea to have someone who can learn our ways and teach them to others but that can be anyone with the capability to learn new things not just the apprentice. We just have to screen all of them first. Otherwise I don't mind either way. Besides it seems most people on this planet have to have some knowledge of fighting because of the slaver raids.
>>
>>4724555
You are correct.
Every single culture on the planet fights or has fighting skill in part due to either having had to fight off the slavers or working for them.

By the time our sons get here we will possibly getting ready to fight the rest of the solar system so we should have a glut of trained youths to recruit for the Legion and Auxila
>>
>>4724555
Yeah, but there is a difference between knowing how to fight and beung an expert at it. The warrior witch would be someone that has dedicated themselves to offensives psyker power and hitting people real good.
And the main reason for picking the apprentice is that since they would be a cleaner slate, it would be easier to mold into whatever happens. The real reason is that I want so save her from the hell that is mandatory internship, worst year of my life

I hope we keep close to our family' descendants

A particular result of the 11th primarch relative normal upbringing in a healthy family, and the close-knit culture he was raised in, is the number of cousins, nephews, godsons and other forms of relatives that can link some form of direct ancestry to Kolinasi’s adoptive family. As such, it is quite common to see Marines from the Storm Riders to eschew calling each other brothers, and preferring to refer to the actual degree of kinship between them, and quite often maintaining contact with their relatives, similar to the Salamanders.
Another interesting phenomenon brought by that level of familiarity and closeness with their primarch, is their view of Kolinasi as something more akin to a venerated tribal elder, or a collective ancestor hero than a direct father, and quite paradoxically, a much lower obsession with emulating their genesire than observed on Space Marines from different stock.

You sit down. You look at the women.

"I need to talk to each of you individually. Those who I select will go surfing with me after this. Those that I do not chose for this can also come." You say

The first to talk to you is Meera.

She is clever, a skilled combatant, and she can be incredibly personable. She wants to adventure and see the world. She wants to be more than just some witch. She wants to understand science and nature, and understand the universe as a whole. She like everyone, has lost a brother friend to the slavers, but she doesn't view it as personal.

She also surfs. But only in the Summer

Delia, who talked the least, walks up next

She is, according to what she has heard, the most respected of the warrior witches. She is the most skilled in combat of anyone she knows, but she too wants to explore. She has lost more than most. A husband. A brother. A father. She is quiet, and she confesses that she thinks she is cursed. She feels everyone she has ever had is gone.

She doesn't surf, but is willing to learn anything to make her smile again. She envies your attitude and joy.

The older sister Flora is the next to be interviewed.

She explains that she inherited the gift of foresight from her mother, and she also has many skills in combat. She is a better witch, at least she says so. Her fighting skills are decent in her words. She has been groomed to lead and it shows in her attitude and behavior. She is has volunteered but she honestly doesn't feel she would be the best for this task.

Gela walks over

Gela is mechanically inclined, she is gifted with being able to discuss things easily. She like the others here, are skilled at combat and witchery. She has the heart of an explorer and adventurer. She isn't as good at science or technology as Meera, or as talented with the blade as Delia but she feels like she would be a good confidant and she seems trustworthy.

She also surfs.
>>
>>4725139

Yana, who stood behind and didn't really speak is- well-- quiet.

She doesn't fit in with the rest of the witches. She, while talented at the arts, is trying to leave. She doesn't like it here, and she has nothing connecting her to this place. She has no real family, and very few friends. She volunteers for any detail that takes her away from the island. She doesn't want to explain why. She has less scarring, but her reflexes and behavior indicate combat talent.

Greta is the last to talk

Her whole family line has been witches, and she is talented, but she isn't a full witch yet, as she hasn't completed the trials. It seems similar to the rites of manhood. She is eager to help out the island and those around her out of the goodness of her heart. She does however, dislike some of the drudgery, and is eager to prove herself. She is also excited to learn how to surf.

Time to make some choices

> You can interview the witches further individually by asking them more questions (Indicate which witch and what questions)
or
> Pick which witch goes with you (indicate which ones.)

Delia, Meera and Gela for the warrior, scientist and diplomat combo.
I'm torn between Yana and Greta.

I think Meera only surfs in the summer because this island is suposed to be colder than ours, we just don't care about the cold water because we are a chad surfer primarch.

Advice is always good to give. It is the way of big men.

Power is respected, but must be maintained through being respected and respectful
>>
"I have made my choice. Flora, I need you to stay here, and be a good diplomat and bridge between our people. Having you here to train others is the smartest thing. Please Remember, a ruler that rules through power alone, is easily forgotten and over thrown, but those who are loved and lead from example- those leaders have those who will follow them anywhere and are beloved by those under them" You say and Flora nods and curls her lips a little to form an almost smile.

"Wisdom from a big man. A gift in itself." She Flora says.

"Greta. We need you, but not yet. You need to complete your rituals first. Though I am honored that you volunteered and came at such an odd hour." You say

Yana, Delia, Meera and Gela all realize that you have chosen them and they seem a little pleased, and you see a smile on Yana.

You call them all to you individually.

"Gela. What do you know of the knights, and the local tech?" You ask and she makes a face you have not seen anyone make before. And you see strange faces made all the time in a haka.

"I am the niece of the stonewright. I have learned much of the knights from the stories and books he showed me. Mostly I know the knights are of a certain height and piloted by men, strong of heart and mind, and occasionally women." She says.

"As for technology, I know for what we are doing I am going to have the opportunity to learn more." She says with a smile.

"I just hope that I can learn quickly and keep up with you and Meera! Though I know more about medicinal technology and more unique technology." She says. That interests you

"I am interested in medicine too." You say and she pulls out a strange device

"This is an analyzer. It can usually give you what is wrong for a baseline human. Someone like you though, it doesn't know what to think." She says and you give a little chuckle.

"I know how to repair it, and a few devices like this." She says, and that is pretty skilled and you find it very helpful.

"What do you know about combat medicine?" You ask

"A lot, at least more than most. My technology skills are secondary to my healing as witch, and with medicine." She says.

"Thank you. I am gonna ask a few more questions to the other ladies. Get ready to surf." You say and she smiles excitedly.

You call over the mysterious Yana
>>
>>4725606

“Why do you want to leave.” You ask

“There is nothing here for me.” She says and you shake your head and she sighs. The other girls are not looking.

“Look at me.” She says. She looks like a normal girl. She has maybe a scar or two. She looks no different than the other girls. Maybe a bit more muscular. Her skin is more like yours and her hair is black like yours. Oh.

“Your father was an islander?” You ask.

“I don’t know. Nobody knows. I was an orphan. I was left here as a girl during a slaver raid. I can do the magic. But I don’t fit in. And look at them! They all look beautiful! I look so plain.” She says and she starts to cry a little. You do something you have seen your father do.

You hug her and hold her. You know you can’t lie to her. You don’t understand appeal to anyone. It has sort of worried you, as most people your size are womanizers or seeking brides. You hold her and stroke her hair.

“You look just as good as them.” You say and she looks up at you and she smiles.

“I guess I just want to find the truth. I want to know more than this place. I don’t think it’s my home. That’s what I am looking for. I want friends and purpose.” She says

“I hope we find it for you. I hope you find a friend in me.” You say.

After a heartfelt silence. She nods and leaves to sit near the side and play with your shoal stoat.

You motion over to Meera

“Please don’t make me cry like that.” She says with some level of concern.

“She was worried about fitting in. She doesn’t think she is beautiful. She is. She just doesn’t feel like she fits in.” You say and Meera looks shocked and then sighs.

“The glamour.” She says.
>>
>>4725607
“The what?” You ask.

“The Glamour. Most witches learn it first thing. The Glamour. The medicines. The tinctures and treatments to make them look better. Some use it more than others.” She says

“You don’t?” You ask

“I do a little. I don’t like admitting it though. I just don’t think anyone was bothered to teach her, because she is pretty and exotic. None of the boys know how to approach her because they are afraid to.” Meera says.

“THEN WHY” You are about to raise your voice and Meera shushs you.

“Then why has nobody told her?! You realize she volunteered to leave because of this misunderstanding! This is absurd!” You say and Meera looks a bit saddened.

“Meera. I was just going to ask you why you only surf in the summer.” You say

“Because it isn’t cold! The weather here is terrible. Summer is the only time you can surf! Otherwise you will either freeze to death or die from the rough winds and tide! Though you want us to surf now, it will be kind of breezy.” She says.

“Oh. Tell Yana the truth. No girl deserves to be sad like that.” You say and Meera hugs you.

“You are the kindest, dumbest person I ever met. Are all you islanders like this?” She asks.

“I was just raised like this by my family.” You say and Meera looks at you oddly.

“I am going to go talk to Yana.” She says.

You call over Delia.
>>
>>4725610
“By all manner of spirit, what words you said to those girls Kolinaisi?” Delia asks.

“I just told them what they needed to hear apparently.” You say and Delia lets out a bark of a laugh.

“Spirits Kolinaisi your other name should be Dayadan.” She says.

“Who is that? What name is that?” You ask.

“He was a beautiful kind hearted wise and strong man loved by all the witches of the isle a legend. He was the only recorded male psyker. But the problem was that he was blind and nothing, no magic could even cure it.” Delia says and then you bark out a laugh.

“Are you calling me pretty.” You say as a joke causing Delia to blush briefly and then laugh.

“Your tattoos protect you from standard glamour. You see these girls for who they are. As they are. And from what you understand of Mana- you probably see into our very souls from what I gather.” Delia says sitting next to you passing you a flask. You take a swig. It’s stronger than your uncles drink.

“I see. Well, you. How do you plan to get over your losses?” You ask.

“I was told on this planet, Kolinaisi, it’s how we survive that makes us who we are.” She says.

“I don’t want to survive like a dying cat hiding in a crag just eating what it can till it dies. I want life. I want to live. My husband would want that. My father would. My family would. I don’t want to be a husk. You bring something rare here.” She says

“What’s that?” You ask

“Joy. Smiles. A sense of hope. Spirit and optimism. You told the crone mother your peace and you showed more courage than anyone I have seen.”

“I am happy you feel that way.” You say.

“I am not here on a suicide mission. I am here to live my life the best I can. You offer that.” You say and she nods.

After some brief goodbyes the four and you, plus Morgiana go to surf as the sunsets. It’s not too cold for you. You find it refreshing like a cold drink.

Teaching surfing, is something you are used to doing. The girls seem actually pretty good at it. Yana, if there was any doubt, is an islander at heart at the very least with how she surfs. She takes to the waves.

When you are done, Yana seems to open up, and describe how her experience on the board was. She honestly could be a better surfer than you. Which isn’t odd but it shows her talent. You are a good surfer, but there is always room for growth, and you don’t mind seeking new challenges.

>A Knight House formed from the various Knights that aided the Primarch Kolinaisi in battling the Slavers and their Drukhari 'allies' and helping to unite De’lormosa
>over this century of working together the once disparate Knights were brought together into a cohesive fighting force that once Kolinaisi was reunited with his Sire, they swore fealty to the Emperor through Kolinaisi and were granted a proper name (Stonewright) and the necessary materials and aid to better take part in the Great Crusade
>Since then, the Knights of House Stonewright have battled alongside the Astartes Sons of Kolinaisi as befitting the oaths they took long ago

You return inside, and you look for a place rest. The machinery and their spirits seem high, considering you are the first one to use them in a while. You see sone wood used for fire, and a hearth nearby. So you make a fire and rest by it for the night.

When you get up after a dreamless rest you are greeted by your shoal stoat.

You pick her up, catch some fish foe the two of you, albeit smaller fish and have breakfast.

You walk to the witches village where you have an honor guard waiting. And the crone.

When you approach your guard, which is now exceptionally well armed, and with surf boards, is waiting in a small formation.

Morgiana, looks like she has been dressed up intentionally and has two hand maidens.

"Kolinaisi. Your village is going to be home to my daughter and I expect her to find a noble husband to bond our people. After learning of your activities, I am eager to help your village. As a result, your village will be given the silent thunder, our fastest GEV, to help assist and also help transport my daughter when she needs to return." The crone says.

You nod and as you are about to speak she holds up a single finger.

Big Man of all the isles

Records of the primarchs
They say that Kolinasi, who, in total had over a dozen names, started his campaign the day he left from the witches isle. Others argue that the day before, his seventh birthday was when it truly began. The records do not vary on how the witches acted after that day though.

There were no more supposed marital kidnappings of men. (Which they neglected to inform Kolinasi about)

There was no witches acting against islanders and they would visit with the other islands to help advance the technology as their GEVs made up the back bone of fast travel in the early days.

More remarkable, was the quickness that the islands accepted this ruling. Some say that this was due to the later discovery that ____ _______ _______ was actually [REDACTED]. Others largely because big man culture worked this way.

"I don't have much to say." You say humbly and the crone looks at you.

"I will make it short."

"It's time for us to no longer live in fear, be it from outside or within." You say with a strength of conviction that echoes through the gathered crowd.

"My people say that you should always walk tall and proud, no matter what happens, and I hope yours will be able to do it too!" You say and the people give acclaim, loudly.

"Our people, we may be different, but when we work as one- we cooperate against our enemies, we will bring a brave new age of freedom!" You shout.

"No more slavers we will break chains when we find them. No more Dumpers. We make paradise now for us and all our decedents! We have the technology! We have the people!" You say loudly and even the crone stands to applaud among the shouting.

As you leave there is cheering.

"Where did you learn to speak like that?" Meera asks walking next to you.

"I just listen to my heart. I speak with mana. With my spirit. Like a Big Man should." You echo the words of your father. Yesterday was your birthday. Today you are trying to do things that you didn't dare dream of. You have aligned a tribe you just met, to a cause now born against a common enemy. It almost worries you, until you realize how terrible the foe is. What worries you more is how this hasn't happened before.

"Any thing to do before we take off Kolinasi?" Yana asks

You return back to the stonehall with the stonewright. He seems happy with the amount of attention he has gained the amount you have talked to him.

And of course the discovery of the hidden hall.

You stop by a pub first, and grab some more of the local cuisine, which your little helper has become quite keen on. The people at the pub are sad to see you go, as your humor brought a good deal of joy to them.

When you get back to the hidden basement of the stonehall, something is a little off.

There is something active near a corner, near what may have been a hidden entrance. Near where you examined earlier.

You spot a boat in the little harbor the submarine is in next to it- which means it just got there. The submarine is open up on the top hatch

no time for caution
___

You run to the main table, to most sympathetic machine spirit. You don't know what quite- you are doing, but you feel this table also has records, memory, some sort of surveillance.

As you go through subroutines, and memory, as your mana and the machine spirits intermingle, you briefly understand.

An electrical system was tripped, an alarm. Their is a person who is taking something through another hidden tunnel.

The ground sensors are active, and they each have a minor machine spirit, calling out. The electrical pulse is enough that you can follow it, but you have to almost tune out your other senses.

You give the table a gentle rub and gently whisper "well done new friend." you sense some joy from the spirit.

You run, fast as the wind. The alarms, you sense and follow. The corridors are twisted and confusing, but you can follow these 'silent' alarms. They guide you, their spirits want to help. They feel something is wrong.

You know where you are running.

Finally you come to great towering doors that are just merely cracked open but reveal daylight.

You see a young man loading things from a machine. You quickly remember your warfare lesson. It's an aircraft.

You also now realize the reason for the alarms.

This is the knight hangar.

With two knights and two other aircraft

The man sees you and panics.

He hops into the airplane and starts the engine. It's slowly starting to taxi

I am going to pick this, since we may be able to find out where he is going this way. Unless the aircraft we pick has no gas. They may be the knights that are left on this planet since they know the secret passages. Can we use the radio somehow to call to our allies on the ground so they can join in? I don't think they had radio on this island though aside from the GEVs.
>>
>>4728580
Oh right. Do the aircraft there have any weapons from what we can see? If they do we can force him to land if he doesn't want to get shot. A Primarch's piloting skills must be pretty good(especially one like Kolinasi who can talk to the machines).

To such a degree the story of the his first time catching a foe surprised another primarch, Rogal Dorn, to disbelief. The XI, especially units on De'lormosa itself, are also legendary at keeping electronic records, especially of their primarch. When Rogal saw the footage, it was said a rare chuckle left his lips."

[blue] fast like lightning [/blue]

It's, from my research and looking as space marine biology, physically possible for a primarch, if they were one of the faster ones.

Remember a primarch fight looks like a blur to space marines and what the upper limit of human sight is.

Kolinasi could still potentially get faster as primarch bodies are capable of withstanding super sonic speeds (see Sanguinius) while flying. If a land based primarch was to run and was the Usain Bolt of primarchs I would expect higher speeds.

Also at this speed Kolinasi could sprint over calmer water.

Just a thought.

4-0 Take control.
___

As the young man scrabbles with the controls, cursing and shouting you calmly access the main controls of the craft.

The STARcraft, or rather underwater, above water, aerial, and void craft, you realize after some initial investigation before accessing the machine spirit is quite spacious. You could be twice as tall and still fit in here and use the controls, which is odd.

You sense the machine spirit out, through the controls and electricity.

It's a wily old spirit, very tricky and eager to do battle once more. It has a full torch, and could go quite far. It is also eager to inform you that- despite it being fully armed and operational- this is a training model, and you are in the trainers seat.
, have full control of this starcraft. You can take control from him whenever you want. You realize that it would be as easy as doing an engine shut off and pulling him out of the plane. But you are given a rare opportunity. You could follow this man and see where he goes, see who he works for,
You, not the man fiddling around in the frontwhy he is robbing this and strike at them with a functional starcraft. You have some way to communicate with the witches you think, you could make it so this thief doesn't hear you with how he has cut you off from him.

This must be decided soon, as he is about to taxi off the runway.

I really want to pick the first option since we have time for only one but even if we communicate with them, they will not know how to find us right? Unless we can find a way to communicate where we are going(possible but dangerous) or we can make these people allies while being cut off from our comrades(possible but perhaps risky), I just cannot pick the first option then. Can we communicate through a portable radio or via Mana or something? The stronger witches might pick our Mana transmission up.

Sorry it took so long!
___

You operate quickly on the electronics, you silence what could make the would be thief hear you, and you contact a point on the communications array known as HQ command

“Hello?” You say

“Kolinasi?” You hear the stonewright say from the little box in front of you.

“Ya it’s me. Can ya hear me?” You ask

“Yes, your voice is coming from the table that has all the lights. Where are you?” He asks

“I am in a starboat. I am going to use the operating system in the craft to let ya and my honor guard know where I am going, looks like I can send cooridinates to the table if I..” And your look through a menu, that the machine spirit guides you through- carefully, to an obscure sub routine that allows the aircraft to send performance information back to the table.

“That should do it” You say with a little note of triumph in your voice.

“Oh wow! You’d like to see this! There is a map of the planet! It shows a little dot where you are at and a little dot where I am at!” He says. To be honest, you would like to see a fully documented map.

“Let my honor guard know to take the GEV to come get me when I am stationary. I am not sure how long that will be.” You say

“We’ll come pick you up Kolinasi, it would look kinda bad for relations if we couldn’t get you back to your Pa when we said we would!” He says with a clearly worried chuckle. Island to Island relations are on the line.

“Send another GEV to them if things go south, send Morgiana and Yana if that happens let them know that I think I have a lead on something really – odd. Could be slaver I don’t know.” You say.

“Good luck lad!” Karlan the stonewright says

The man in the pilot seat keeps flying, and you are able to hear him he seems worried, so you try to talk to him. See what his motives were.

“Why you do this?” You ask him through the speaker. He starts making the weird noise he made earlier, you think it’s fright.

“Be calm I cannot get you through the glass.” You say, which isn’t exactly a lie. You can’t get through it safely without damaging the craft, and risking a long fall for both of you.

“You fookin monster! What are you? I never seen anything move like that! Why you come after me huh? I just a scrappa! We aint even take anyone!” He says.

“Because it works! I have to get enough supplies so we have a safe trade of tech for the Ganth so we don’t have to pay the blood tithe. I mean, we already have enough people for the Ganth, so we are fine, but if we have a big enough tech bribe, they may reduce our blood tithe.” He says.

So he is a slaver, and the slavers are the ‘Ganth’. And he can once more, reduce the amount of slaves they have taken by giving technology. Which is interesting considered so much is dumped. So you figure you can answer some questions

“If you stealin tech from us why not take from the dumpas? They have all sorts of tech they just dump all over the place.”

“Ha! What dumb ass island you come from? Dumpa stuff okay, but they already have that, and we don’t have time to recycle all the dumpa junk, take too long. Fresh new tech or old archeo tech like that knight stuff, that there- that make me good money. I do that, maybe the Ganth hire me on, I be slaver captain with the girls and the power. I could live off world in a nice city! Yeah. I think I’ll do that! I’ll tell the ganth about them big stompy knight stuff!” He says, secretly infuriating you. You keep calm like the octopus. You don’t lash out until it can actually do good.

“You don’t think they gonna betray you?” You ask him

“The Ganth? They betray everyone man! Until they prove themselves. Then they give the respect. This gets me to prove myself, I get the respect.” He says.

“You don’t think they just kill you after you give them the info?” You ask.

“It could happen, but it unlikely, not when I on a big boat.” He says pointing to the boat.

It’s an ironside. And it looks like it might even be void capable. It has a spot for a fighter like this one to land. The ship is massive, bigger than anything you have ever seen before. You can see he is trying to get the radio working, or at least his personal one.

“Hey lads I got us a fighter and some good info! I found some stuff, but I have to tell the captain. Wake him! Have him meet me down at the deck. Yeah I also got some big guy. He stuck in the back seat. He could be good for blood tithe, he wicked fast. Fastest thing I ever seen. Bit chatty though.” He says, causing your fury to get to the point it worries the machine spirit in the ship as it is giving certain warnings.

“You intend to trade me to these Ganth like some chicken.” You say a little bit of your anger coming out.
>>
>>4732746

“Nah man, not like some chicken, like some fightan stock! You'd make an awesome warrior or gladiator! You'd be doing way better as that then here on this dung heap! You might get to go to a different system even- they trade slaves all over the place now the warp storms die down!” He says.

This is important news. You need to keep him alive, but the little red eject pilot button is very tempting to press. As he is about to land you see a small group assembled on a hanger on the deck of this strange vessel.

___

>> Eject him, use the fighter controls to slay these slavers, leaving only enough alive to give you information
>> Quickly eject and take out each target individually, leaving them alive just enough to give you what you need to know
>> Ask him if he is truly sure if this is what he wants to do, if he really wants to make money off human misery. What for his response, then depending on the answer, eject him and straffe the ship.
>> Get out of the craft, and methodically try to use their own ship against them, and take out each member individually
>> Let them try to take you as a prisoner, see where they will hold you, then escape and potentially free others
>> Leap out do a haka, and quickly attack each crew member until only the captain is left, then get information from him.

>> Ask him if he is truly sure if this is what he wants to do, if he really wants to make money off human misery. What for his response, then depending on the answer, eject him and straffe the ship, leaving only enough alive to give you information.
Question: if we don't pick
>> Let them try to take you as a prisoner, see where they will hold you, then escape and potentially free others
and win the fight, can't we land on the ship and search it for people there? Does this option means they get to take us to their base?
>>
>>4732757
The captain will crap himself and tell us. But just in case, perhaps leave a second n command as well.
>>
>>4732757
As a note, I feel it important to not strafe them with the aircraft, since it may pierce the deck and hurt any other slaves they have inside.
>>
>>4732769
You're right about the strafing, but leaping out of the aircraft will get Kolinasi in front of their guns(I assume they have guns since they have this huge ship and supposedly other technology). Most Primarchs aren't bulletproof right? Of course with how fast Kolinasi is, he could dodge the shots but there's still risk of lucky shots or shot hitting something important other than Kolinasi.
>>
>>4732770
The haka is a shock tactic to make them hesitate and activate the freeze fear response. That delay will be fatal for them.
>>
>>4732769
>>4732770
Also if you take all this into account, we should maybe choose the
>> Get out of the craft, and methodically try to use their own ship against them, and take out each member individually
but I don't know if that means we jump off the aircraft in the air or when it lands. Otherwise it looks promising if we let important people alive in the end.

>> Get out of the craft, and methodically try to use their own ship against them, and take out each member individually
If we kill the ones on the welcoming party, the slavers on the rest of the ship will try to shoot us down.
>>
>>4732771
Maybe but that assumes that these people(who are slavers) haven't met anyone as scary as Kolinasi or Haka usage. Which might or might be not true.
>>

They have not seen 'bitter shoals' thus they would be unaware of the haka.

But the majority of Mana manipulators in the Legion would be concentrated withing the Techs and Apothecary because it synergizes too well. If they develop it while they are in other roles later, they will get training as appropriate

“Is this what you wanted? When you were a child, did you look to your father, and your mother, and say, ‘I want to go steal people from their homes, and rob from the poor and defenseless?’ Tell me why do you do this?” You say, making a disturbingly accurate imitation of his voice- causing him to look back at you briefly.

He thinks.

He sighs.

“No. I wanted to explore the cosmos. I wanted to go to new places, and do anything to get away from my home planet. No Big guy. I didn’t want to do this. I didn’t have a father or a mother to tell this to because they sold me into slavery for a few coins.” He says in a bitter tone. The kind of tone that you have seen of those who know not love or family.

“So are you just assigned to this? Are you upon their account?” You ask

“Ha! No. I freelance. I signed up for this artifact search. To get me enough money for a ship for my own. You think I like the slavers? Only assholes like the slavers! I don’t. But I do what I gotta do to get out this sector. I get far enough, they don’t find me.” He says

“What about your crew then?” You ask

“Oh they? Well some of them are, who you call ‘slavers’ they born of Ganth. They vanguard. They are doin scoutin. I’m here to collect goods. If I do enough work they ignore me, the ship doesn’t have to do a blood tide, and our tiny mud hole on our fucking shit planet doesn’t have to do a blood tithe.” He says.

“If you could would you get out of this?” You ask

“Ya bruv who wouldn’t? I have never slaved or even stolen before this, I just take things from abandoned places” He barks back.
You decide, the best way to solve this will be to kill the slavers, and let those who are not live. You could infiltrate their brig, and use their own weapons and ship against them. You have your starcrafts machine spirit try to identify the kind of ship, and show you a layout map- and it gives you something basic.

“Just take me to your brig. I won’t fight you. If you only trying to be free, I will let you be.” You say. He looks at you skeptically, but sighs, still clearly terrified of you.

As he lands the Captain comes out to meet him

They talk, briefly, and he and the captain himself takes you to the brig.

The brig has a few other people in it- also prisoners.

You also notice that the brig- wouldn’t take much of a demonstration of strength to break out of.
>>
>>4733809

However, you will need the cooperation of this ancient machine as there seemed to be an alarm. When he and the captain walk away you get to work.

You get to a panel, inside your cell that is connected to some sort of display. For air input and meal timers.

You figure out it’s basic subroutine by going through the menu and feeling for the electricity via the machine spirit itself. When you communicate with it- it’s more intelligent. It can almost communicate back, more than vague emotions and desires.

The communication is simple. It likes what it does, but with absurd luck on your part, it hates the crew.

You can tell it hasn’t been maintained like how it should.

You can feel through the systems that the poor ship, while void and star worthy, is capable of so much more

If the crew could just be assed to properly maintain it.

You sense it is agreeable to helping you- if you help it.

It needs maintenance. So you agree.

And your door opens without struggle.

You open the doors to the other scared prisoners.

“Come. I free you. Show me those who would keep you in chains, so I may break them.”

Their fear becomes righteous anger

“AYE.” One says loudly and the others repeat then one says “Why.”

And you stop. The man looks like one of the islanders.

“They run games like this. How do I know you not here, to dash our hope? Throw us overboard.”

“I am Kolinasi Kaiko Wahtiri, Son of Ravi, of the black island and Big Man.” You say.

The man looks up

“Son of Ravi? He big man now?” The man says he looks old.

“How long have you been held here old man?” You ask

“I’ve been traded among slavers for ages because they can’t figure out to do with me. They tried gladiator games, but I protested. They asked for a test fight, and I just let them win. Then they try to punish me and I whup em. I did this multiple times for years now.” He says

“So how do I know you are a big man? You may look like you pass trials. You look like you have the mana. But how I know you not some rubbish man?”

You open the cage

“I shall show you through my actions.” You say. And he follows.
>>
>>4733811
Your first challenge is a guard, one of the Ganth, according to the old man. You can’t really tell, other than the metal cybernetics on his body. You step behind him and snap his neck taking his weapon and handing it to the old man. He nods and smiles.

You use the nearby terminal, you access it. The machine spirit shows you footage and camera feed of all of the ganth. It does, however, not show you footage of one habitable room, labeled “machinist.” It feels like the machine spirit is protecting the one person who is keeping it up and working.

You have a few strategies that you could apply

> Attempt a communications black out. Knock out the lights and sensors, take your opponents through your sense of electricity like a shark.
> Methodically go to each Ganth guard and kill them through shock and terror.
> Kill the captain first. Display his kill and offer a chance for people to jump overboard
> Do A Haka. Tell all those who are free men and not the Ganth to break their chains and kill their oppressors. Tell Good men to stand down and you won’t kill them.
> Kill each men as quickly and sneakily as possible, taking each weapon and arming those slaves on board. Hold a court of oppressors like how Jero would.

Do the Haka after we kill the Ganth, but right before we kill the captain, maybe some people on the bridge would stand down and make it easier.

__

You activate the intercom to broadcast. You work with the machine to time it so the power and comms black out after you do your Haka.

You breathe in air.
"THIS IS THE SOUND OF BREAKING CHAINS" You roar like thunder over the intercom, scaring the faithful machine spirit slightly, and those men around you.

"THIS IS THE SONG OF THOSE YEARNING TO BE FREE" roars come out more primal than what you ever shouted before. Louder than your challenge haka. The men and the machine spirit around you, steeling themselves.

"THIS IS THE ROAR OF DEATH TO THOSE WHO ARE SLAVERS" you let out and you feel the anger and excitement around you.

"THIS IS LIFE FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO STAND FREE." you shout coming down with a stomp. The other islanders lining up and performing the Haka.

"THIS IS THE ANGER OF THOSE WHOM HAVE LOST!" you let out and the machine spirit boosts your voice.

"THIS IS THE LAST HAKA HEARD BY THOSE WHO HOLD THE CHAINS." you roar and it echoes throughout the ship as the lights flicker for you to begin your righteous purge.
++++

"Fuck you Alaric! I didnt sign up for this!" the treacherous first mate says leaving the captains control room. The captain shaking, a bundle of nerves and barely a man.

Irohn, the quartermaster was the only one standing. The only true Ganth, not these weaklings. He was the only one of the chosen.

The cries over the radio were normal for uprisings. The baying of blood.

Slaves never wanted freedom.

They just wanted to put the chains on their former masters.

Many uprisings had been quelled by your disintegration beamer. Irohn. The quartermaster and the counter of cost. Irohn the heartless.

The cries get louder as does the wailing of your insipid captain.

You do him a favor and rid him of his shame as the crying gets to the door.
__

When you kick open the door you look dead in the eye the being standing before you and you move to the corner of the room before he can react. His eyes are able to follow you barely, and you see the several augmentations on his not quite human form.

His reactions aren't fast enough for you to break his arm and have him shoot himself with his own gun. He turns into a red mist and blood.

You pick up the powerful weapon.

So looking back
>Codex
Still too early, as it may depend on how the Heresy goes. Kolinasi may see the need, but he also may not want to break up his sons or the other Legions. He wouldn't believe the Traitors would be so easily defeated and would rebuld their strength (the nature of the Warp would allow them to rebuild very well owing to it's physics defying nature would prove) or their could be enemies that groups of disparate chapters couldn't take down (the WotB would prove this correct)
>Librarians
Likely pretty standard fare with some focus on possible weather and 'weather' manipulation. They would likely take to trainign the Witches future generations as Primaris Psykers for the Auxila and Legion support.

I think he could be in support of the Librarium but would bring up Magnus and his sons being hot heads who brought this upon themselves

When the slavers body falls to the floor, you do a last sweep, followed by those who you saved.

You find a few slavers cowering in closets and rooms, some die from a heart attack from fear.

Those yearning to be free are easy enough to find and identify. There are only two that were remaining and they wish to help you, bringing the total number of free man on the massive ship including the thief you spared number at 13.

The sweep of the ship has identified how large it is. That it has a spare hangar that could fit quite a bit in it. You would have to actually test and see what would, and would not fit inside. Looking at the quarters, while sparse, they are actually better than the island in many ways. You find clean showers, multiple water converters, waste units, rooms called ‘kitchens’ that have many different ways to cook with numerous food stores. There are other void craft, and a small ramp to offload boats, like the one you saw.

As you sweep through, you find gunner halls and an armory, loaded with all manner of weapons, that would take time to go through. The guns of the ship, are in a word impressive. The machine spirit itself takes, from what you can tell, great pride in it’s weaponry. You need to take a more precise inventory to get a real understanding of the ship, but you know that would take some time.

You realize that the machine spirit protected one being in a cell. That it seemed that the machine spirit was protecting it from harm, so that it may help repair the ship. As you get closer, you feel the machine spirit, acting a bit more defensive.

Doors are a little harder to open. Lights flicker. When you get to the door, you do the polite thing. You knock.

And when the door opens you are angered to your core.
>>
>>4737112

The person that the machine spirit was guarding, and now you know why, is a small child. The only person of the right size to fix certain areas.

These slavers were using children to clean and fix the machine.

“Are you the new captain.” The child says in a tired tone.

“In a way, yes.” You say

“Is it time for me to work then?” The child asks in an exhausted tone, something that you have never heard from a child before.

“No. I was just doing a full sweep for survivors.” You say and the child nods

“Child were are your parents?” You ask.

“They were killed.” The child says, in such a tone that it disturbs you deeply to your core. He states it in a matter of fact, like how one would say they lost a trinket. Not a parent. Not a caring family member.
“When did this happen?” You ask

“The captain and his crew murdered my parents when I was two. I am five now. I have to fix the ship, because nobody else does. The ship needs a lot of care.” The child says, with a level of gravitas that a mere five year old child should not have.

Though the fact that you have only lived just seven years (as of yesterday) makes this more disturbing. While you know, that there was some level of genetic modification to you making your maturity normal, or what passes for normal as far as the ‘Primarch People’ are concerned. This child has seen a lot.

“Do you want to stay on the ship?” You ask

“I don’t mind doing the chores of the ship. It can be fun sometimes!” The child says with a small sense of wonder, that makes you feel a bit sad knowing that the most fun and peace that this child has is by cleaning a ship. A job that can be dangerous for a fully grown adult.

“How were you treated?” You ask

“I wasn’t beaten if my chores were done. I was fed if I did a good job. So I always tried to do a good job. The problem is that there is too much for me to do. The captain told me though that it was my responsibility. He said I was the only one who could fix the ship right. Since the couldn’t afford a maintenance servitor or something like that.” He says.

“What is your name child?” You ask

“They call me boy. My parents named me Nasi.” He says.

You grab the child and you hold him. You give him the same hug your father gave you. At first the child is unsure of this and flinches. Then it realizes that you are not here to harm it. At this point the machine spirit, must realize as well and the lighting is better.

“Nasi, while I am on here, no harm will come to you.” You say and Nasi nods.

“Whats your name?” The child asks.

“Kolinasi.” You say and the child smiles

“Thats like my name!” He says with a little cheer.
>>
>>4737114
“Nasi could you show me around the ship? You don’t have to do it right now, but I need to return home soon, and go back somewhere to return something that was stolen.” You say and the child nods, and gives you a more useful tour of the ship, explaining things as only a child can. You let Nasi play with your shoal stoat, which seems to cheer him up.

This is very dark. The people you are fighting use child labor, and beat the children that are not helpful.

You think on this as he explains the entire ship. When you get back to the hangar deck the man who stole the aircraft looks at you then looks at the child as if he hasn’t seen them before.

Because he hasn’t.

The child as asks who the man is.

“He is the man who is going to be guiding us to a new harbor for this ship.” You say and the child nods.

Your freed caste is eagerly moving about the ship, but you realize, that time is of the essence. This was a scout ship.

You are going to need to find out more about the communications of the ship, and figure out how they were keeping in touch, and the child is happy to show you, a blown out communications cogitator, that looks like it was attacked by a desperate captain.

You then walk back to the deck realizing while a great gift this is to your new cause- it is also going to lead to a lot of explaining, when the GEV pulls up.

Meera steps out of the GEV and waves to you, from the wing.

__

You have MUCH to do Kolinasi.

_

First order of Business, pick two from this list.

>> Tell Meera to get in touch with her island, inform them of what you have captured
>> Introduce your honor guard to the ship, have them look around and get familiarized with it.
>> Have Nasi tell your honor guard what went on here
>> Have your honor guard see if they can recognize any of the survivors
>> Ask the honor guard what they know of the “Ganth” or if they heard that name before.
>> Write in

Second Order Pick two

>> Inform your honor guard this is your new ship and your new weapon against the slavers
>> Have your honor guard try to find and eliminate any tracking devices on the ship, with your help
>> See if anyone wants to go to the witches island with the honor guard
>> Find out if Nasi wants to stay with you and the ship or go to the witches island.
>> Do an inventory of the armory and weapons systems, and any other systems
>> Write in

Third order Pick one
>> Go back to the witches island, namely the stonehall see if you missed anything, then return home.
>> Go directly home, have the GEV go ahead and let them know you are en route

We should let the recognising for when we get back to their island, the more people, the higher the chances.
>> Have your honor guard try to find and eliminate any tracking devices on the ship, with your help
>> Do an inventory of the armory and weapons systems, and any other systems
Make sure we know of our new ship.
>> Go back to the witches island, namely the stonehall see if you missed anything, then return home.
We go to the island, dock, get all the slaves and slavers out and see if anyone recognise anyone else. Than we see if there are any volunteers to join our crew. Also send a message ahead to our island so the doctor don't activate his defense craft.

there was a boat where the submarine was located and we had the option of searching the submarine so I was curious if anyone else was with him.

The submarine was already docked before he came wasn't it? I tought the option to inspect it was if he was trying to steal it, or hiding inside.
But he did come on another boat, so it probably is still back in the stonehouse, unless the boat was also the plane?
Hope the stonewright and our witches investigated it while we were gone
>>
>>4737892
To me it seemed like he came with the boat then left with the stolen plane(how he learned about it when Kolinasi just activated the underground chamber and he didn't even knew about the existence of the hidden room with the planes but the pilot did should be investigated) and the fact that the submarines hatch was open meant he either inspected it first or he came with others who went to the submarine.

You walk up to Meera, and the other Honor Guard members sort of walk out of the GEV.

"Spirits be mad Kolinasi, you leave us for 10 minutes and you steal an old giant ironside? A void one even?" Meera says

"I comandeered it from the slavers, not stole it. " You say objectively and earnestly and Meera smiles.

"I bet you commandeered this in less then 10 minutes knowing you so far. " Delia says stepping out of the GEV. She isn't wrong.

"Meera, could you radio back to the islands? Let them know what happened? Inform them or somehow tell them to hold up a bit more, like let Jera know I am going to be coming back a little later. But it will be worth it when he sees this. I think the whole island chain will be pleased by this." You say and Meera scampers back into the ship as the others come out.

"This, this isn't a local iron side. This is an actual void craft." Gela says looking at it.

"Kolinasi, this can change a war. A scouting ship like this, would be a powerful thing to have if we can replicate some of the weapons or understand it. It may take a while for your people, or our people to reverse engineer, but once it is done, it is something that can fight back the slavers." Gela states and you nod quietly.
>>
>>4738107
Meera walks back in from the ship.

"Karlan is flying a GEV back with one of the witches from your initial meeting and Morgiana to let them know what's going on. I figured they would be more accustomed to also seeing a man like Karlan." Meera says, once again proving how efficient she is.

"Thank you!" You say and you take Your honor guard to the ship introducing them those who you spared first and those you have rescued. The introductions are short. Most of them are just happy to meet free people, though one of the people captured by the slavers was from the witches island.

You take your honor guard on a walk through the ship.

Namely you show them all the things that you had found before.

Your honor guard is actually excited by some of the findings on the ship, though Meera is fairly disturbed that the ships maintenance is done by a small child. As the five of you tour the boat, Delia shows instant concern when she spots the armory.
>>
>>4738111
"Do you see how many weapons there are?" She says.

"Yes, there are many." You say.

"And how many are the same weapons of this type?" She asks holding up a rifle.

"I haven't inventoried everything yet." You say and she nods

"Ok, I know that, now- how many crew were there? Did you count them?" She asks

"There were 20 that I had to kill. 24 crew." You say. Then Meera looks concerned. Then you get it.

There are more than 20 types of weapons in the armory alone. Each with dozens, if not many more, copies of said weapon. Your warfare training goes through your mind.

"It's a pathfinder." You say and everyone but Delia looks at you like you are mad.

"A what?" Yana asks.

"It's a self sufficient ship meant to find a landing area, supply those that land, and protect those that land. This is the tip of the spear. If it has landed it, slavers are imminent." It hits the others really hard. The main wave of the slavers are here, or will be soon.

"This changes things. A lot." Delia says. Then you realize that if this is a pathfinder, the tip of the vanguard spear, the slavers will want to know how the ship is.

"Meera, Yana and You do a sweep of the ship, where I showed you- Delia, Gela, you also sweep, break it up into left and right, meet in the middle. They may have tracking devices that we need to destroy." You say and you are met with a concerned and hurry agreement with a slight hesitation from Meera who raises a hand

"We should see what powers them first, and have one attached to something else, like a fish or something before we throw them overboard." She says

"We do that."
>>
>>4738118

After a sweep, which takes most of an hour, you find multiple signal devices, and after using your technopathy to feel out the ship, all the devices have been found- which makes the ship happy as it doesn't like the devices. You mix up some chum, and throw some of the devices into the water, which are eaten by some sharks. You find devices, also disturbingly on most of the weapons.

This gives you, and a few of the free men with you, time to inventory the weapons if only to remove all tracking devices. At first it is a slow process, but it speeds up as you grab the weapon, rip out the device and toss it into a bucket, this process is repeated many times.

In total, there are 25 types of guns 10 types of rifle, and 15 types of pistol. There are also a host of melee weapons, but they do not have the tracking devices. There are, uniformly 100 of each type of gun. Meaning 2500 total guns. Military principles dictate, or at least depending on the intelligence of the unit, that if the unit is worried about inventory, a slaver force of 1,000. If not, it could be 2500 predicted for initial landing force, or more if there are other units detached that have their own weapons.

When you are done with this, Nasi, politely informs you that the ship has, for it's own weaponry. Namely the ship has 40 "Normal" guns, 2 "Special" guns, 12 "Heavy" guns, and the really big gun and three "batteries" of ammo for each. However Nasi, and the ships own machine spirit direct you to a different portion of the ship you barely looked at.

A portable manufactorum. Similar to the one on the shaman's ship.

"I had to fix it. It's able to take the junk from the ocean and use the break down of the materials to make other things!" It's really neat, but it's really hard to fix. I wish I was stronger, then it would work better." Nasi says.

"You will be very strong one day, but not because of this." You say.

I am concerned that they might have other ways to track this ship that don't rely on tracking devices and by taking it to the witches island we paint them a target but I don't have a better idea. How big is this ship again? Can we hide it in the stonehall chambers?

You could not hide it at stonehall.

Right. Then there is no other choice really. We have to take it to the witches island to study it with the assistance of the stonehall machines if possible although the shaman from near Kolinasi's island might know more about it. We might need to contact him.

Good Morning! . Yesterday, work left me a bit drained. However I hope you guys are liking the story so far and the path that has been chosen

“Meera, Gela. Which one of you is a better pilot?” You ask.

“I am” They answer at the same time.

“I have been doing this for longer.” Gela snaps at Meera

“No you haven’t we both snuck on the same GEV the same day and learned” Meera retorts

“Well I have done it more times” Gela says

“You also screwed up more times” Meera responds and they both look at you slightly embarrassed then they go over to a corner and do something with their hands, that you cannot quite see.

“Paper covers rock!” Gela says walking over with a good deal of pride.

“So I get to drive this boat home?” Gela asks strutting up with her chin high.

“You get to teach me how to pilot it.” And Meera hops into the other GEV and makes a face at her as the others begin to pile into the GEV.

“I am a terrible teacher. But there is a first time for everything.” She says as the two of you walk to what is the helm.

You can barely see out, there is only cameras for screen.

“Oh it’s one of these fancy ships.” She says pressing a button and suddenly you can see outside.

“It’s transparent aluminum. If a certain charge is applied to it, it’s clear. We have one thing of this technology on the island.” Gela says.

“Alright so this is really easy. It’s easier than surfing.” Gela says with a great amount of nervousness in her voice.

“Since you aren’t using the vertical or dive controls, and we are just sailing it to the island it’s just like how you would control a big boat.” She says demonstrating with the wheel, until she stops.

“It’s a bit touchy.” She says

“Touchy?” You ask

“The ship is very easy to get it to go to the direction you want, it’s as easy as the GEV almost, which can be bad if you oversteer or you get panicked at the controls.” She says offering you the helm.

You steer it and make a heading, you think, towards the island of the witches.
.
>>
>>4740423
“How far away are we?” You ask.

“Not very far actually, though with a boat like this instead of a GEV it may take a bit longer. I am not sure though, the controls look like this thing can go pretty fast.” She says.

You feel with the machine spirit as you navigate towards the island. It can go faster. It can actually utilize something similar to a ground effect, but slavers don’t do it because it is too risky on choppy seas.

So you push the ship to a reasonable speed, which it is excited about, as it usually didn’t go this fast. The machine spirit is unaware why.

Then you have a realization

“How far off are we from the witches island are we?”

“Well, this is funny. Bitter shoals is actually north of witches island, but is in a nicer climate band. Where we are now is south east of My island.” She says.

“Why?” She asks. And you slow down the controls just a little bit.

“There are 30 monsters in the ocean. 30 great beasts. One of them lives around here, it’s unwise to travel really fast above the water unless you can fly like the GEV. So you don’t disturb em.” You say.

“What is that?” Gela asks.

“Mano Mō'ī. King of all sharks.” You say with some polite reverence.

“THAT BIG THING.” Gela says now a bit panicked.

“You know of him?” You ask

“THATS WHY WE USE THE GEVS AND ONLY FISH FROM SHORE.” She says stunned.

“Oh. Have you seen him?” You ask and she looks a bit worried.

“Is this boat big enough?” She asks.

“I think it strong enough, but I think slavers don’t want to be angering em, as it attacking the boat would probably cause problems.” You say

“This thing has a fly function right?” Gela says looking at the controls nervously.

“Ya.” You say and Gela looks at you.

“You wanna try to fly it?” She says politely.

You oblige her and lift it off the water and fly it like a GEV arriving at stonehall not too much later.

I will clarify since its a slow day at work.

You ar choosing which place to go first and by a lesser extent, parking your bad ass space ship.

You may be able to park it in the knight "room" if you have enough people want ti park it under the stonehall.
>>
>>4740500
So no matter what room there would be enough space for our new ship?
In that case the submarine room would be better.
>>
>>4740503
There is not quite enough in the sub room. You'd be parked just outside of it.

Well, I can't choose anymore
Parking the ship inside seems good, but leaving it out so the whole island can see our first victory can be good for morale.

Knight Room.

After much work, negotiation of steering and learning how to properly navigate and land a craft of such size without destroying the structure or the craft (which caused Gela to look very nervous) you land the craft, and exit, the survivors staying on the boat, enjoying their newfound freedom, but not necessarily wanting to go to somewhere they have never been before.

As you walk out the back of the ship, with Gela and the man who stole the plane, you look at the knight hall. As you step out, with Gela who hasn’t been to this part before, you see not two nights, but seven. Apparently you didn’t have time to notice them all from the angle you ran at. You feel a little bit embarrassed about it but glad nobody else noticed.

One of the Knights is a bit larger than the rest, and it looks a bit more ornate, which is something considering they all look so ornate. From what you can detect from machine spirits, they seem like they are functioning.

Gela looks a bit more awestruck at the sight, as the three of you walk through the maze back to the main hub room, where there are more people now.

“Ah Kolinasi! Welcome back, how was your little adventure.” The stonewright asks.

“I apprehended the thief, however, they were working on behalf of the slavers. They stayed out of my way when I took care of the ones on board the ship we found.” You say

“We saw it coming from a ways off. The fact it flies beggars belief! I have never seen a void craft before!” Karlan says.

“How was the flying?” You ask

“It looked like it was being flown professionally, it must have really good systems.” He says and you smile.

“I had a good teacher.” You say nudging Gela slightly who has developed a red face of blush.

“If that was your first time flying I’d imagine you’ll be a great captain. I informed the island, and well.” Karlan says and as if hiding from inside the submarine out pops Jera.

“This thing is amazing!” Jera says jumping out.

“I saw what you captured! It is the most stunning ship I have ever seen with my own eyes!” Jera says

“I had help reclaiming it from those who were captured by slavers inside. It’s a treasure trove Jera. So much to take in! I think it can help us immensely with preparing for the slavers.” You say and Jera’s green eyes look as if they are almost glowing. Then there is a puzzled expression on his face.
>>
>>4741809
“You steered it in?”

“Ya.”

“I can’t even steer like that.” Jera says. You then look over at Karlan

“Did you find the knight hall or have you just been here most the time?” You ask.

“I have been here mostly. Didn’t have time. I picked up Jera in the GEV.” Karlan says and you nod.

“Well you may want to see this then.” You say motioning towards where you came from.

+_+_+_+_+_=

Kolinasi, and his story, seems farfetched even when compared to Kurze and Johnson. Primarchs all had legendary stories. Kolinasi- stole a void ship a day after setting up a peace treaty, before finding seven functional knights. Within a week of turning seven. Some say he started slow for a primarch. Compared to who? Alpharius? Horus?

Malcador

------------------------

“THERE ARE SEVEN OF THEM?!” Karlan shouted in disbelief as Jera was still staring at the ship you brought in.

“They were under your nose the whole time.” You point out.

“How is the handling?” Jera asks

“I wouldn’t know? Touchy? According to Gela it’s a bit touchy for a ship as big as it is.” You say and Jera nods.

“Kolinasi, I- I can’t teach you on this.” Jera says and you look over to him

“What do you mean?” You ask

“My father had a small void ship that took him away. I have sailed most sea boats and many weapon craft. Nothing this big. I can help teach you the seas, teach you the tides, but I can’t teach you this.” He says sounding both amazed and saddened at the same time.

You remember something, your not sure from where.

“Sometimes everyone is learning and teaching.” You say and Karlan and Jera look at you strangely.

“We live on the cusp of an enemy trying to destroy us and enslaving us. You know naval tactics and strategy. You know the ways of the freeman and the privateer. We don’t have time to just do things traditional, as powerful they are. You don’t have to know how to void ship. We have to both learn and teach.” You say
>>
>>4741811
Jera looks at you and nods then grins

“Your old man is gonna be pretty damn impressed.” Jera says and you chuckle.

“Do I get another name for this?” You ask.

“If you killed a famous slaver captain aye.” He says and you nod

“Well the captain looks like he soiled himself and was partially disintegrated, so I don’t think I killed a famous captain. Maybe a Quartermaster.” You say and Jera shrugs and Karlan stops.

“I think the knights can fit in that ship.” He says and you look at what he is looking at. And the more you look at it, the biggest knight, could fit through the big off loading ramp door, and maybe store one more.

“We’d have to walk em in, and test em. And we’d need men to do that. As well as people to repair them, though I think the guides are pretty easy and the methods seem pretty straightforward.” You say and Karlan gives you an odd look.

“Well, okay, assuming we gotta person to repair it, we need lads to move em. Anyone know how to do that?” Karlan asks

“Well, there has gotta be books on it. The table probably has directions.” You say.

“Kolinasi, we should go take this to your father. We can come back later.” Jera says.

“Come back soon, because we probably need to figure this out, if what you say is soon, slavers could be en route and Knights that we can’t use, make us a big target.” Karlan says and Jera’s eyes widen a little

“Slavers don’t fight on land.” Jera points out.

“Not on your island. On an Island this big, they do.” Karlan says and Jera raises an eyebrow.

"Karlan, You figure out these knights mate." you say patting him on the shoulder and he he smiles.

"You may have to pilot one later!" he says as you walk up the ramp.

As you walk through certain parts of the ship, all of the former slaves nod to you as you pass by with respect and say things like 'big man' 'kahuna' 'cap' and others and Jera raises his eyebrows more than once before getting to the bridge.

"I think you found a crew mate." Jera says and as you get to the bridge Jera does a look over and lets out a low whistle.

"this is a real special ship it's a tiny ship loaded with crazy weapons, and.."

Jera flips a switch he sees and certain displays come up he nervously smiles.

"This a marauder class. I was wondering what it was." Jera says with a nervous chuckle.

"I cant teach ya this mate but I'd give up my right arm to learn with ya. My da told me about these before he went away. Gave me a pocket guide to void ships" he says. And then you realize something

"so thats how the legendary Jero Jera always hit the weakness." you say and he grins.

"Ya. You can have your dads rowboat and a blaster and take down a fuckin dumpa if you know where to hit it.". He says with a chuckle.

"Well lets learn then." You take to the controls as Jera and Gela look nervously as you explain what you are doing to Jera.

The trip is faster than the GEV. Which is surprising. The island is coming up really fast.

“Da! Look what I got!” You blare over the intercom as you land the craft near the shaman’s isle.

You moor the ship near the island, close enough that a small boat can go to it, which you realize there is a small exit boat ramp.
The old islander looks at you as you are about to depart.

“You mind if I return with you to see this island?” He asks.

“It would be wrong of me to deny you.” You say and he nods. A few others ask, who look from scattered tribes and you agree. As you step out to the boat Jera whispers to you.

“Keep an eye on em. They may get a bit wild since they haven’t been free in a while” He says. Some of them begin singing various shanties, Jera starts singing one of his own.

“What is this one about?” You ask.

“It’s one my da taught me. Roll your chariot.” He says, you try to sing with him, it and you, honestly aren’t sure about how you sound. However you see the look on your dad’s face and it’s the biggest smile you have ever seen.

“You comeback, after forming an alliance, and stealing an enemy ship. You have proven my nomination for you for Warchief and Bigman. That ship is bigger than many an island.” Your father says.

The Shaman walks out of the hut and he has a wild grin.

“An old Maurader! I haven’t seen a little pocket destroyer like this in ages! Those old things were even old when my ship was void born! They mostly were used for test beds and experimental things.” He says

“Bet it has a bunch of crazy stuff on the inside.” He says.

“It has transparent aluminum, and just enough space to park a void fighter air craft. Or whatever it was I stowed away on.” You say and he laughs.

“Father, I have liberated many men, I have offered them safety on the island.” You say and your father nods and gives a careful look

“Just make sure they don’t get too stupid. I accept them, they can have hospitality. And--” He looks over to the old manufacturing

“Dari?” Your father says and the old man nods. Your father makes an excited whoop and goes over to hug the man.

“Kolinasi, this is the man that taught me to read when my father was taken by the slavers.” He says and you look surprised.

“I guess that’s why I learned to read so quick then eh?” You say with a laugh and the shaman gives you a look.

“What is it old man?” You ask him and he motions to you.

“There is something odd about that pod we should talk about and I think it explains things.” He says.
>>
>>4746350
“Is it important?” You ask

“It may be nothing, but it could be everything.” He says. You give him the frustrated haka eyes used to intimidate and he looks back with compassion and a grin.

“Da, I may need a minute to look at something.” You say and your father looks background

“Take your time son. I have some catching up to do” He says

As you slide down the ladder into the old mans ship and land with a thud, he looks over to you as he holds a weird device.

He holds it next to the pod and it does nothing.

“Touch it.” He says. You oblige him, the pod as always feels familiar. Kind of feels like home, in a way to you. The thing he holds beeps.

Then he holds it next to you.

It beeps but less strongly.

His eyes widen.

“Oh this is different. That, oh. Oh no no. This, this makes sense, but it’s” He looks around at books and test the machine and it beeps on every machine. And you understand.

The machine detects the mana of a machine.

The mana of the pod.

Is one with you.

Or inside you, or messed up with your mana. You aren't really sure, but it would explain the old man's behavior.

The mana around you makes so much sense now, and the ability to sense and detect electricity, and to an extent work with it- it’s clearer now. While you cannot be harmed by it, the gift the lightning also gave you- it fused your pods machine mana with your own.

“It’s okay old man.” You say to the shaman and he stops.

“You sure?” He asks.

“Ya. It’s fine.” You say with a little smile.

“Maybe the other primarchs are like me.” You say

“I hope you find them. Maybe there is another who good with machines like you ya?” He says and you nod.

“What do you think about checking out my new ship? Seeing what we can take from it and manufacture or upgrade to it? Maybe see anything you want or can use?” You ask and he grins.
>>
>>4746356

“I think that would really help. Ya. Ya. I’d like that.” He says.

“Then check it out.” You say and he scampers up the ladder and you follow close behind. You inform him of the child and he nods before taking his raft out to the ‘Pocket Destroyer’

Your Da just finished talking to the old man.

What to do now?

>> Assemble the other big men. It’s time to give them a tour.
>> Go check on the island. See how your new friends the witches are doing.
>> Tell the big men, in particular your father, about the knights.
>> Check on your ma, she is probably a little concerned.
>> Talk to Jeras crew, see if the quartermaster needs help figuring out their new toy
>> Check on some of your cache of gadgets, maybe something like that comms device might be useful for the boat

>Many creatures can be found upon De’lormosa, ranging from those brought to the planet by the original immigrants by way of transportation or genetic engineering, to the native fauna, from the mundane to the fantastical
>One of the most common sights of these creatures happens to be the Shoal Stoat, which has been finding purchase across the Imperium's waterways on planets that can support them
>Descendants of these beasts come from either escaped pets, smuggled off planet, plans to liven up a planet's ecosystem and more
>Many are wild, but equally common are the domesticated varieties as they were successfully domesticated millennia ago
>In terms of the feral varieties, they tend to be found as being too good at hunting and need regular cullings, which is helpful as their furs are a prized luxury among the Imperium's elite

>Sea Cat
>Do not let it's appearance fool you, the creature seen on the left is one of the deadliest creatures upon the planet of De’lormosa
>The Sea Cat is a rather unique creature, for it is one of the most openly Psychic beasts upon the Ocean World
.Commonly manifesting as a form of Tele/Hydrokinesis, the Sea Cat's powers allow it to take on creatures much greater in size and mass with relative ease
>Before the coming of Kolinasi, the Sea Cat was seen as one of the greatest menaces, not because it killed many but because of it's greedy, kleptomaniac nature caused no end to hardship and annoyance to the struggling peoples of De’lormosa
>Since then, the attempts at domestication of the Sea Cat has been fairly successful with them being a noted though uncommon sight among the Elite, especially the Inquisition

>>4746864

I am keeping track of the Moka/Mocca as it is important to with how the system works, and it has lead me on a really weird rabbit hole and today at work I am going to be watching documentaries on it to help keep this accurate.
>>
>>4747257
The amount of Logistical expertise that comes with being a 'decent' big man is pretty absurd, Big Men have trouble sometimes with Mocca/Moka, but the way Kolinasi is going- There is a strong argument that his legion will experience logistical flow similar to perturabo or guilliman.

Though the only primarchs I imagine who would maintain moka/mocca with Kolinasi would be Guilliman, Perturabo and Alpharius (And only Alpharius because he would find it interesting/funny)Maybe Lieren, if he could wrap his head around the system not being quite antithetical to his journey.
>>
>>4747288
I dont see why the big man system is antithetical to the journey.
Since it is giving gifts with an expectation of being given help in later years or months. The journeys tenants about giving gifts whenever you can is just a more idealistic rather than practical manner.

But if he spreads the principles across space, Kolinasi will probably get that good shit whenever he asks. Primarch of a billion favours

I've done no research, this is just what I've understood from the quest so far. Sure it could be turned to greedy ends, but the system in place if overseen by benevolent men rather than power hungry ones it should fit right in with the journey.

Idea for the inevitable under water folk we'll likely have to face
>The Deep Folk/The Abyssals
>Like with any planet with sufficient amounts of surface water, there are bound to be tales of sunken underwater kingdoms, and De’lormosa is no different
>Whereas most such folk take the form of humans or gods, the Abyssals are very obviously mutants or even possibly Xenos who make their living under the waves, only ever surfacing to wage war, take slaves and on the rare occasion to trade
>They are always depicted as colored in the hues of the ocean, with blues and greens abound and are patterned after sea life wit fin like flanges, scales and crustacean like armor
>They never seem to possess mouths
>It is well known and told of the power and strength of these Abyssals, being able to wade their way through and slay hundreds of normal humans with their bare manipulators with ease while taking not a single wound
>Tales from those that are said to have escaped their clutches recount of the immensity and splendor of their cities which can house entire islands with room to spare

Had the campaign last night, work in the morning, getting tailored today for an interview suit. I got an interview for my dream job, so I have been working my butt off with this and an off the rails Dark Heresy campaign worthy of a shoggy story post on /tg/

____
“Father, we need to gather the Big Men, we need to have a war council and a conversation, bring Morgiana.” And your dad is taken back,

“Acting like a big man already.” He says with a smile and you motion with your arms and hands in a sweeping arc to the large ship in a joking fashion.

“Ya, ya! You capture a ship. I’ll go get the big men son!” Your dad says as Dari and he row off. The big men come back, with Morgiana, and the rest of your Honor Guard, who so far, have been very dutiful, when they can keep up with you.

You take them to the ship, which they are surprised by the intact and functionality of all the old tech. The Old Man, who has been given a tour by little Nasi, has been busy taking notes. As you get the bridge area, there is a small table with enough seats for everyone.

“Here as good a place as any to have a council.” You say and the big men nod in agreement.

“The old man here, he is seeing what from this he can use in his manufactorum, he is seeing what he can build.” You say and there is nodding.

“You think we can all have some tech like this?” Chief Kai asks.

“I don’t see why not. Our manufactorum should be able to make some smaller things, and some of the tech on here.” You say and Jera let’s out a cough.

“Knights.” He says politely mentioning them.

“When at the witches Island, I discovered a cave with vast technologies, another ship, which Jera saw” You say and Jera nods
>>
>>4752350
“It’s an undersea boat. It is very advanced as it can also theoretically work as a void craft too.” He says. Which has many of the chiefs seem fairly pleased, especially if Rawhiri is any indication.

“We also discovered knights, and functional electronics, many wonderful things.” You say and your Honor guard seems to murmur.

“I feel that these should, be used to defend the witches island, as they have a larger stretch of land, and perhaps if we need they can come for aid to help us. Their machinery and electronics however, can be studied, and their data gathered- we can use that to help us create many things to help us thrive, and not just survive here- but actually live. This too will help us fight against the yoke of the Ganth Slavers.” You say and the men seem excited.

“Kolinasi” The old man walks into the main bridge after waiting outside.

“You by bond, are promised to be taught by Jera.” The Shaman says.

“This is true.” Your father says in a serious tone. Jera pauses.

“Who says I have to teach him on my boat.” He says and everyone studies him.

“My crew can practically run that ship on their own. I can find a captain on my crew- hell Ravi your sister in law would be a helluva captain. I can teach Kolinasi what I know on this ship.” Jera says and you nod then you speak.

“Two ships are better than one, and we have three theoretically if we are allowed the submersible.” You say and Morgiana looks back

“My people will probably allow it, we are used to GEVs and more traditional ships. So long as we get a cut of the privateering” Morgiana says.

“You would.” Chief Kai says with a tone of authority, but also wisdom.

“I think, after looking at certain information, with some work, we can recycle and repurpose a lot of the material that the dumpers leave. Not like what we do now where we use it for simple things, but we can reprocess it. If we make some facilities, or even use some on this ship, it wouldn’t be too hard to get the process going. It would clean up what the dumpers leave, and arm us at the same time, turning their own waste against them.” You say.

This gets the room very excited. Even the most reserved among you are pleased with that.

“Old man is that possible?” Chief Kai says to the shaman.

“Ya. If you got me the right material, brought the things here, I could build some mass scale fab printas . You’d have the facilities to recycle, and you could safely make new things, forge safer and make and process things in a way that it won’t hurt the ecosystem.” He says. You read on a mass scale fabrication printer- a ‘3D’ printer for buildings and advanced facilities. You thought they would be hard to get though.
>>
>>4752357
“Old man, who know how to make that?” You ask.

“I should- I helped design a bio one. Upscaling it isn’t gonna be that hard, with all the stuff the Dumpers leave.” He says.

“Jera, you’ll teach Kolinasi so he learns the way of the sea and command – and you are fine with mostly salvaging, because we’ll need one ship patrolling- one ship salvaging, so we can shore up defenses.” Your father says.

“I don’t mind the salvaging, if we making defenses with what we salvage, seems like a good plan.” He says.

“Kolinasi, how we gonna do the defenses, each island is different? The old man showed us the basics of the technology and what we take back. Some of us are gonna have problems that other islands won’t.” Eterea points out. You pause for a moment. Then you realize an opportunity.

“I will visit each island. I will determine best defense with each of you with what we have. Each of you can have a different island, but the defense should somewhat overlap a little bit. That way we can each cover for each other should something bad happen.” You say.

“My island will do the same, and I guess we will learn the knights too. I will also try to get to know each of you better.” Morgiana says trying to fill the role her mother intends, but realizing that she is going to have to act as a general as well as a diplomat.

“Anyone have any questions before we stop here and we go get some food?” You ask

There are a few questions that you are able to answer, most of them overlap with a theme

“if you think you can build a fleet of these ships”- Yes

“Do you think the slavers will be here sooner than you can get finished?” - if we don’t act quickly

“Will we all get ships?” - Eventually yes, priority on the harder to defend islands first.

“What weapons can we make” – Probably many guns and quality axes and other weapons

The meeting ends and you go back to the island.

The legends of Kolinasi’s feats during his unification of De'lormosa and the defeat of the Ganthian slavers and their Dark Eldars backers have become incredibly popular among the imperial populace, just like the stories of other martial and cunning primarchs, and just like any tale changes from teller to teller.
However, some facts are immutable, like the Drukhari extended lifespans and intense emotions, especially their hatred of being humbled. As such, the numerous planets bound to the Storm Riders, be they recruiting worlds or trade partners, have continuously suffered from raids and attacks from Dark Eldar seeking vengeance or glory.
After a particular hard battle where a Kabal had deployed in unusually large number, and seemed to be more keen in the raising of the world rather than raiding, the venerable elder dreadnought know among his chapter as Grandfather Wakateleho said “What a glorious battle it was! It almost reminded me of the stories my uncle would tell during my childhood.”

You decide to go talk to your mother. When you surf up to the shore she greets you with a hug and a kiss on the cheek which you return in kind. Your shoal stoat hops out and seems happy.

“So I saw what you brought back.” She says looking at the vessel.

“What that little thing?” You ask and she gives you a stern look

“You didn’t cause any trouble did you?” She asks

“Only for the slavers onboard.” You say and she looks more stern.

“No at the witches island! I don’t care about the slavers, they can all go for a swim with concrete shoes.” She says

“Well, ma”

“Don’t you well Ma me! Morgiana, that witch girl came to me first to talk before you got here, she was very concerned about fitting in on this island because of how you talked to her mother!” Your mother says a tone of concern in her voice.

“Her mother was being a tyrant to her own family. Her own daughter fears her in a way not out of respect but out of abuse.” You say and your mother gives you a trademark eyebrow raise that she would do when you would go out diving for too long and ‘forget’ to do something.

“She really was! She shot lightning at me!” You say

“Lightning doesn’t hurt you! She probably knew that! You have to have some respect for elders!” She says

“I do ma, but respect must be earned, and she lost that with how she was behavin.” You respond in a polite tone and your shoal stoat, with some incredibly animal wisdom bounds over to your mother seeking attention, looking as adorable as, a baby shoal stoat.

“Oh don’t you be trying to protect him, he is too tall to need help from a baby shoal stoat.” She says and your new helper cocks her head.

“Oh here.” Your mother hands it some food and it curls next to her foot.

“The island was pretty, you would have liked it.” You say to your mother.

“Well with that fast boat over there I may go visit it.” Your mother says.

“Anything wrong Ma?” You ask detecting the stress in her voice.

“One of the witches, she came back. Yana. She, it’s she seems very familiar. I only saw her a few seconds, but, she seemed at home. And your gonna be taking her with you as an honor guard, along with those men you just freed, to go all over a privateerin.” She says.

“We will be safe. I’ll come visit when I can, we will have to return frequently to make sure that defenses can be manufactured by the old man.” You say

“Frequently." Your mother asks, and you nod.

“I won’t be so worried, but the world changing over night is somethin scary Kolinasi. And my little star baby is all grown up so quick!” She says, though truth be told, you feel like you have much more growing up to do.

“I have much to do Ma, I will see you for dinner time.” You say and she smiles as you give her a peck on the cheek

“DONT BREAK ANY OF THEM HONOR GUARD GIRL HEARTS! I RAISED YOU BETTER!” Your mother says and you smile back to her
>>
>>4757356
“I won’t!” And you and your shoal stoat bound over to a little bit of a commotion.

The big men are talking to Dari, who was well liked by much of your fellow islanders. However, it seems like Dari is trying to actively see who he remembers him.

The people whom you have freed are, along with the entirety of your honor guard, trying to eat, as apparently none of them have eaten, and is a little past mid day so you sit down at the table.

“So I haven’t really gotten to talk to you after freeing you, can I ask your names and about you?” You ask and the survivors, look at each other and a shorter darker man with a full beard stands up.

“I am Ron Jon, I am from the furthest shoals, it is very far away. I used to be a scrappa. Now I am here. I got caught salvaging some stuff of an abandoned slaver ship, got taken by them, glad I got to escape.” He says and the man next to him stands up he is of similar complexion to the islands, but his eyes are a bit different, in color and width.

“I am Ai’ree. I came from an island that isn’t part of your chain, but we share a similar culture. The whole island was abandoned during a slaver raid for a raft island, I stayed behind to draw the slavers away from some children that were fleeing.” He says and a person, who is almost as big as Slim Rongo stands.

“They call me Wa’toleni. I was from Chief Kai’s aisle, though he doesn’t remember cause he is getting old. I use to be a boat fixer.” He says and a woman, sits up and stands.

“I am Ava. I am from another planet. I learned the slavers language and your language from the discussions. They stole me away from my escape pod, pretending to save me. I almost wish they killed me. This place, it’s paradise.” She says looking around staring off for a second then sitting down. The man next to her, who is incredibly strong looking stands up.

“I am Charon. I didn’t choose my name. I was traded for many times. I come from a very far away planet. I was a gladiator. A warrior. I have fought many times. I have no idea what to do now.”

A few others sitting nearby nod.

“You, Kolinasi.” Charon says.

“You fight like a true warrior. What are your plans?” He asks and you smile.
>>
>>4757358
“Well, I need a crew. For that.” You say motioning over to the vessel in the distance.

“If any of you wish to join me, I will be happy to accept it. I will write up some papers, have Jera show us how to make a proper contract, and we go a privateerin. If ya wish to stay, we could probably find a way to accommodate you on one of our islands.” You say. Then you look at Ava, and Charon

“If you want to get home- I …” You pause.

“My father taught me to not make promises I can’t keep. I don’t know if I can get you back home. If you live on this planet, ya. If you live on another planet- I don’t think we can do that just yet. I can promise that we make things right with the slavers.” You say.

At that the men look enthusiastic, and so does Ava. Your honor guard seems actually a bit excited too.

“There will be much work though, that’s all I can promise. Is a fair share, hard work, and as long as I draw breath, you will be as free as you can be while privateerin.” You say and you hear a few Ayes which causes Jera to walk over.

“You already workin on a crew are ya?” He asks

“Just freed men.” You say as some of them start to eat a little.

“You might want a few people from the island. Also your Uncle and Your Cousin both want to join your crew.” Jera says.

“That sounds-”

“Like your father and mother will kill me in my sleep if they hear that all their family went on the account.” Jera says in a matter that is faster than your fastest haka.

“I will talk to them, but who you recommend?” You ask.

“On a ship like that both have good points. But honestly it’s better to start with some fresh hands, so your cousin.” Jera says.

“What the big men talk about?” You ask as many people sit down to eat a little.

“The usual. Makatta always has concerns about getting ammo manufactured. Chief Kai is curious about the knights, he wants us to take him there, and Rawhiri wants to go too, and I think he has an eye for Morgiana.” Jera says making an eye roll.

“Well she was told to find a husband on the aisles to have our tribes bound by blood.” You say and Jera chuckles

“Well that makes sense. The only one her age.” Jera says.

“How about your ship? That trinket I give you workin?” You ask and he smiles

“My Quartermaster can figure things out right quick, my ship is better than ever. Though now comes what I came over here to talk to you about.” He says
>>
>>4757360
“My crew has already decided if I leave some of em would come with me and they have a new captain already planned out. But if I am comin with you- and you are learnin to be captain, there is gonna be a call for vote. You doin this like it should be- and we will be doing things the right way every time- you may not get captain. It may be me, and I may be trainin you as one. Personally I’d prefer to teach you as your first mate. But they gonna call a vote. You gonna need a quartermaster. That means someone who is skilled with numbers and ships and they vote for that quartermaster post. Guess who would probably get voted for if they vote for me for captain.” he says.

It would make sense. You have been pretty adept around machines to the eyes of these people, and you would make for a good quartermaster.

However, Meera or Gela could do that job. Hell the old man could do that job.

“What your saying is I need to recruit more people for that big a ship.” You say.

“Aye.” Jera says and you realize what he may be hinting at so you say it aloud to be sure.

“So a clever man, a good big man, would probably try to visit other islands for recruitin, maybe a new ally to help solidify it. And by doin so, show the big men council the new allys knights.” You say and Jera nods

“I’d talk to the big men first. Maybe your da first, when he gets done talkin to Dari. I’d also talk to your uncle.” Jera says

“You tellin me this as a big man or captain, or both?” You ask and he chuckles

“As a friend, and as a captain. You already know big men answers.” He says grabbing some shark and walking off.

What to do next?

> Learn more about your crew, and their homes.
> Talk to your da, see who he would recommend on your crew.
> Talk to your uncle and cousin, ask who wants to go with you.
> Go see which Chiefs would like to go to the witches island.
> Talk to Morgiana about Rawhiri.
> Go grab those two communications devices, you may need em if you keep going back and forth to islands, make a battery for them with your new device the old man gave you
> See what the Old Man has discovered.
> Go talk to more villagers, see who would want to go on the account
> Surf a little bit.
> Talk to your honor guard, see how the feel about your home, and about privateering

Since they are from other planets, what do Ava and Charon look like compared to the locals? Does any one of them have cybernetics or anything similar? Also
> Mooom! That mean witch shot lighting at me.
is what came to me reading that part. I now wonder how Primarchs that had regular families when they grew up would be like in their everyday lives.

Never Mind, I reckon we got a little longer for a tally, but I think we need a little bit more in the way of votes. Last post and vote will be tonight before new thread. It will be pretty simple.

Alright. LAST VOTE THEN NEW THREAD

___
While your honor guard is present you decide to have a little chat.

"I know you all chose to be my honor guard. You did not elect to be privateers. What are your thoughts."

"I am here because you are doing things I didn't think were achievable. We hunt slavers with there own tools? That sounds like good use of my talents." Delia say and Yana nods

"I also feel this way. We have your back Kolinasi." Yana says.

"The technology and things we will learn, will be important for us all." Meera says and Gela looks over

"We can learn more about medicine. Maybe find a few more cures. Help other islands." Gela says.

You smile. The women are smart. Thats why you chose them. Its good that they have your backing.

You get up and walk over the big men, whom have been joined by Morgiana they stop talking in deference to you once you join.

" I would like to know, since we have to head that way again, would my fellow big men like to join me in going to the Isle of witches?" you say and before there is a response Morgiana says

"Emera Ire. Is its local name." she says.

"Its a pretty name. I will use it more often. My question stands.". Every big man nods.

"Morgiana, is that fair to you?"

"I am sure that my mother wont mind." She says.

"It might be wiser, if you do not mind Kolinasi, for me to give them the tour. As it will likely help show more solidarity of our people." Morgiana says.

"Show them what I saw. Its all I ask. More if you can." you say and Morgiana gives a worries look, but nods.

"Da, a word?" You ask and walk a distance with your father.

"you are learning the way to be warchief fast."

"ya. I am doing my best." You say and your father pats you on the back.

"It looks like that poem 'If' was a good choice for you." he says.

"Aye. I may not be to that point yet. Da. Both Uncle and Cuzzie wanna go on the account. With Jera or I." you say and your father looks sternly, then he nods.

"I cannot make a choice for a free man. No big man can. Not your uncle and sure as the sun rise definitely not your cousin. You can protect them. If they chose to go try to get them to go with you. I have no idea who Jera has as his Second captain, but they aint gonna be as good as you. " Your father says.

" Thanks Da." you say and he smiles, then slaps you on the back.

" Go, get on your business, make sure you name that ship something fierce". He says. You smile

"Aye. The name of the ship Is Something Fierce it is" you say and your father gives a roar of laughter.

"I still have a bit of business. Who you think make good crew for my ship?" You ask.

"You takin Jera, Your Uncle and Cousin, that honor guard, amd the slaves you freed right?" you nod.

"If we didnt need the old man for defenses building back here Id say take him. Take half mad Haa'rii instead. Small At'a, would be good, Rongo for a chef, maybe Rambe if you can convince him. Id honestly just ask for volunteers, actually the big man thing.. "

" Would be to ask you to ask for volunteers who are up to task. " You say and your da nods.

" Ya. However, dont take too many. Save some from Eri Isle or whatever Morgiana called her home. They may want to help too." your father says.

" Aye. We gonna try to leave after dinner. " You say and your father nods.

You walk back to your hut, and fiddle with the communications device and your new battery maker. They are connected to a base each and have strange settings so you bring it back to the old man.

He looks absolutely stunned.

"Where did you get that?" he asks

"The old wreck on my first dive." you say to a still stunned shaman.

"that is the most important thing you found. That is a true comm. You can talk to someone half the galaxy away, so long as the receivers are tuned."

"You don need no psychic, you don need no warp, it just sends your message faster than light."

"I thought they were all destroyed by the machines in the uprising. This archeotech. This. Kolinasi, is worth a whole planet."

"But it has me worried. What else be on that wreck. If machines were here too at some point." he says looking off at your ship. You are surprised by his response.

"well lets give it a trial run." You say and flip the devices on.

The machine spirit, seems almost noble, grateful even to be running again.

You hand the old man a device and you walk a fair distance then towards Rawiri and Morgiana.

"can you still hear me old man?"

"aye. A real test will be to take this to the witches isle. Though it should honestly be able to reach Terra." he says.

"Morgiana can we talk?" she nods.

The two of you discuss her intentions, and to your surprise she seems earnestly interested in Rawhiri, which may be a problem for her. Her mother was specific, but maybe a big man on another island is acceptable.

You walk with her to your hut, grab some board and return to Rawhiri.

Charon and his lads are making discussion.

"Charon could you tell me of your planet?"

"Not much to tell of Nuceria. Planet ran by slavers. I wasnt that good of a gladiator, but I was considered attractive, so they sold mw to the Ganth, who trained me further, along with these lads here for." and he pauses and sighs

"The carnival of carnage. The Ganth have a contest where they take people considered most beautiful and train them in exotic arts of murder. This is done to appease the drukhari. My lads and I were not considered high enough in quality appearance so we were put into the pits, when we were done, they were going to pick up people here and take us back to Nuceria as improved gladiators." he says in a tone of sorrow.

" there were more of us. Ava, she"

Ava then speaks.

"I was from Canaria. I was chosen for the same reasons as them. I was however not good enough at murder." and she begins to sob and bellow. Charon comes over and holds her.

"The Ganth are particularly cruel." Charon says.

"To the point of their acts being unspeakable." charon says in a dark tone of cold anger. You dont know how to respond. So you say nothing and nod.

You walk to the village center and put up a sign down.

"Volunteers for the crew of Kolinasis ship,"

Then you realize you haven't named it.

Time to name Kolinasi's first ship.

Only write ins allowed.

Gonna post the new thread some time tonight.

>Something Fierce
We must obey the wisdom of our father.
Also it's good for Morgiana to marry Rawhiri, now that we are Warchief, his people is also our people. And it's a way to subtly rebel against her mother.
Are we going to vote for our Warbanner next thread?

Yes. Something Fierce.

A new Haka be formed, because they are fun to do.

The Void Shark maybe? Something Fierce sounds like we are making a joke. No offense to the people who like it.

But Something Fierce is a joke.
And that's why I like it, to be the only primarch with a sense of humour.

It will make for entertainment later.

Or at least fun with ship naming, to a degree that would be plausible within lore.

Well as long as everyone enjoys it then great. I wonder how Kolinasi's enemies will feel about it.

Probably confused.
Although some of them might get the joke and be amused.

You write on the sign and smirk. 'Something Fierce."

Then you step back and smile as you put it further into the ground and people start writing their name on the accorded roster. You see Jera and your father standing next to a pole carrying many fabrics that is taller than you. On it is a record of every ship that went on the accord, and every color and flag that has gone before.

This is the building of the War Banner. A rite that can only be done the ships captain or a war chief. In your case, both. This will be the colors of the fleet. The colors are varied in shade and tone, and metallic tones among them.

You walk up to this tree of colored fabrics that Jera is leaning on.

"Well Kolinasi, time for you to pick a banner." Jera says.

You pick the seafoam green, the blue of sky, and the copper/bronze of the setting sun. You hang them, as you have seen once before and the elder weaver and the tattooist nod.

"Your sigil. Your banner. What your symbol." The tattooist asks.

"The rising tide. The crashing wave. What will lift the islands, and wreck our foes." You say calmly and the Tattooist nods.

"Your banner will be made by sunset." The elder weaver says.

"If your crew wishes tattoos, I would be honored." The tattooist says then one of your honor guard comes up

"I wish it." Delia says

"I as well." Yana says.

"I've always wanted one of them tribal style tattoos." Gela says

"I am not going to be the odd one out." Meera says causing the Tattooist to raise both his eyebrows, and you think you learned where your mother learned how to do that.

You realize, for this ship, as the new owner and captain, you must perform a blessing. Jera is waiting on it.

Usually a ship blessing is throwing of rum and a haka.

Something Special for a special ship, first of it's kind.

Ah shit, I thought it would take longer for the Warbanner vote, wanted to post a new version of the images that I resized
Here's the banner, If you want to put it into Soulstorm, just resize it on gimp/photoshop/whatever to 64x96 and save as .tga

And here's the badge.
Same thing as the banner, resize to 64x64 this time and add an alpha channel, and delete the part you don't want so it will be transparent on the game.
And don't forget to put them on your banner and badges folders.
