Last time, you beat someone unlikable, broke the Janeeva Convention and witnessed an unlikely (but not less sweet) family reunion! Now you’re dealing with the aftermath of the latest…

Both Chewnette and Cohen left the store, one in a hurry and the other apologetically. You’re still inside the store, a clerk will show up soon, but you never said you wanted to buy anything here in the Garden Shop…

“…Phil?” Wilma is still watching the store front where they left.

“Yeah?” You wonder. The disguised tomato wants to know.

“…Were you the one who helped them?” Wilma has the itch it was you.

You’re surprised she guessed right! Even though there is no other reason for you to come by here but to check on those two. She must know you’re not the gardening type. Not taking into account that you’re a time traveler currently living in a van down the river, and you have no lawn… Maybe she’s not smart at all, and you’re bigging her up because you’re stupid.

In the corner of your eye, you noticed that Naiad has a miniature Dream Hill star in her hands! She puts it in her backpack ship, upgrading it even further! When did she do that? Anyway, Philonune asks her about it, and she poses in response! She just got it from the big-headed family! From Chewnette specifically. That’s great! You completed another wish!

Anyway, you should respond to Wilma's inquiry…

Did you help Cohen and Chewnette?”

>Who knows? You’ll keep it a secret. You need to keep your cool.
>Yeah, but don’t say much more than that.
>Yes, but you didn’t intend to. It was a coincidence. Be way too honest.
>No. You’re not that nice. Lie to Wilma.
>Write In.

What do you do now?

>Inspect the Storage Room to see what Chewnette left for you! You’re that kind spirit she talked about!
>Find the scoundrel that stole your cheese. This is a detective mission now.
>Sneak into the Cookie Factory. Like everyone has said, school has already started.
>Ask Wilma if there is somewhere she wants to go.
>Write In.

Votes:

Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical and ignores all other rolls! In the same vein, rolling 1 means a critical failure (only for Very Hard rolls and above).

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

“Yeah.” You respond nonchalantly. Wilma gives a tender smile. She has been smiling like a goof this whole time, so this feels special. Now, there is an important bit of what Chewnette said that got your attention, she left something in the back for you. Well, not you. The Evil spirit that you were playing. Point it. Your curiosity is getting the best of you. “Hey, Wich, stay here looking pretty or looking at the flowers, I need to go to the bathroom real quick.”

“Huh?” Wilma’s smile breaks. “…Alright.”

And so, you manage to find the bathroom without any indication of turning invisible inside the bathroom stall. You come back to the store proper to find Wilma enjoying her time watching some pink flowers, err, the sign says they’re begonias. You find a Store Clerk behind the counter, but you decide to ignore him and just go directly to the back – with the obvious cautions in mind, of course.

Good old Storage Room doesn't look different from yesterday. You look around to try to find any clues as to where Chewnette left her present. And lo and behold, it’s on the desk, it’s on a package, decently decorated. There is a note on top. But because you’re worried about Wilma, you decided to just pocket them out of here.

You find a blind spot before getting to the bathroom to turn yourself visible and walk back to the store proper. You think you have a good eye on Wilma from where you are, so before meeting with her again, you take a glance at the letter. On the envelope there is a request that read as follows: If you happen to come back to my storage room, I ask you to spare a moment to read this letter, I know you don’t appreciate anyone’s windy ramblings, but it won’t go for long.

That’s already a little verbose for a tiny preemptive message. Good thing you’re not a lousy angered ghost, but a lousy angered human. Anyway, you dig in:

“Dear Kind Hearted Spirit.

I wanted to express my gratitude for what you did. Thanks to you, I was able to find my long-lost son after years of anguish. The relationship with my son is just starting, and I can see it’s not going to be an easy road to travel. I'm not the person he imagined me to be, I’m coming up short, but he’s giving me a chance. He’s as forgiven as his father. I’ll have to do better, for him, for all those years lost, even if they mean very little to me now that we’re together again. I’m overjoyed. I feel whole again.

The only reason I can walk this road is because of you. I won’t be your disciple like Ronda, but I’ll be your fan. If you have the time, please give Ronda a visit, it’s heart wrenching to watch someone who helped me act so crestfallen.

Yes, this letter might be long-winded to you, but I needed you to spare me some words, I can’t come up short with words of gratitude, with you not understanding how much this means to me. You gave me another chance to live. Thank you.
>>
>>5043746

Please look out for my son and Ronda. I left a present, so please don’t think of me as stingy.

Forever Grateful.

Chewnette Roland.”

You open up the present.

It’s a Fancy Bottle of Wine! You suppose spirits like their booze offerings… You hide it in your tiny bag. Yeah, you left with one, but since it was empty, you didn’t make notice of it… This has nothing to do with you possibly getting cheese again.

“…Phil!” Wilma shows up! She noticed you were standing here like a doofus.

“Good to see you. Sorry for taking my time.” You apologize. Wilma shakes her head, she doesn’t mind.

Now what?

“Wilma, are you ready for a little adventure?” You’re not going to let what happened yesterday go.

“…H-Huh?” Wilma isn’t sure where this is going.

“Let’s take it outside, I’ll give you the details.” You start walking away like you’re just way too cool for school. Sheesh, mentally, you’re sounding lamer than Scarlet.

Outside, you brief Wilma about your tragic backstory! About the moment you lost something so precious to you, but you had to go on, leaving this injustice unpunished. But now… Now things will change! Life will change!

“Wilma… you’ll be my assistant for this mission!” You tried to hype it up as much as you can.

“…?” Wilma is thunderstruck, but the determination in her eyes tells you she’s going to assist you in this! “W-We can’t take long, S-Sugar told us to come back to the camper before noon.”

“Wilma, do you even know who you’re talking to?” You adjust your glasses. “My last name is Noon! I got this!”

“…!!!” Wilma never saw this coming! Nothing you just said made any sense…

“No, but, seriously, if we’re taking too long, just remind me and we’ll run back.” You are not trying to be funny here. Wilma nods. “Now, where do we begin?”

“…T-They pickpocket you here, right? Shouldn’t we ask around?” Wilma makes a valid observation.

Operation Cheesing the truth has begun.

She’s your assistant in the kitchen and your assistant in crime solving, Wilma has proven herself to be one of the most competent people you’ve known. And she’s right, you should ask around about what’s going on. And who better to ask but the woman in charge of all the cheese here! The Cheese Goddess Pascaline!

You inform Wilma about your intentions, and now the two of you are on your way to meet up with the Cheese lady!

“Phil! You’re back so early! I knew my products were good, but not so good that they catch a young gentleman’s attention this urgently!” Pascaline is overjoyed to see you again! “They did their trick. Are you here for more? Or do you wish to try other dairy products…?” Pascaline adjusts her chest area as she says that. Something must have fallen on her T-shirt, or her bra must be getting uncomfortable, Kata mentioned that to you once for some reason! Point is, Pascaline is as friendly as ever!

“Hey there, I came to ask some questions.” You respond in a friendly tone.

“Pascaline. Call me by name, Phil! We all like being acknowledged properly! A little courtesy goes a long way!” Pascaline really likes when you say her name…

“S-Sorry, Pascaline. I didn’t mean to be rude.” You apologize profusely.

“It’s all forgiven! I like the way you said it, it packed a punch. And I was just pulling your leg, you don’t have to take me seriously, Phil!” Pascaline has a little giggle. “I’ve gone on about respect and I haven’t asked your buddy’s name. Who do you happen to be, Miss?”

“Yo, I’m Wich.” Wilma continues playing her one-line character. Whatever that’s supposed to be.

“You’re so cute! Are you new in town as well? You two are the only people I’ve seen using that style!” Pascaline is interested in Wilma.

“Yeah, she’s a good friend of mine, Pascaline!” You nod.

“That’s great! Do you two want some free samples? Let your Cheese Goddess indulge you two.” Pascaline is all excited.

“Cheese Goddess…?” Wilma is confused.

Yeah, who could’ve come up with that…

What do you do?

>“Pascaline, I’m here to give you bad news, the cheese you gave me, it was stolen… And I must find the culprit.” Deliver the bad news. You don’t have time to lose.
>“Yay, Cheese!” Indulge yourselves with excellent daily products.
>“Sorry, we don’t have the time. I need to ask, do people get pickpocketed around these parts often?” Keep the fact your cheese was stolen a secret from Pascaline. You don’t want to make her sad.

“Sorry, we don’t have the time.” You politely reject the cheese from the Cheese Goddess. You’ll rip your own cheese from the claws of that evildoer! “I need to ask, do people get pickpocketed around these parts often?”

“Phil…!” Pascaline is astonished, putting both hands near her open mouth! “You’re a Special Secret Agent!”

“W-What?” You forgot Pascaline offered to help you in your non-existent investigation yesterday. “N-No, don’t misunderstand me, Pascaline. I’m just curious.”

“I understand everything perfectly.” Pascaline manages to wink with her eyes closed, like one of her eyes got all wrinkled and… you can’t explain properly but it happened! “So, the adorable Wich must be your actual assistant.”

“Yo, you could say that.” Wilma adjusts her sunglasses. Who’s she trying to copy here…?

“N-No, we’re not the police, I-I just saw an incident yesterday and I got curious.” You still play the fool because that’s your role in life.

“Ever since that new lieutenant arrived, I believe the town has been at its most peaceful since I can even remember.” Pascaline puts her right hand on her check to reminisce. “But…”

“But?” Wilma dropped her character to advance the conversation.

“There is a little thief making rounds in the shopping district lately. A slender girl with a ponytail. There is no single person I know that hasn’t encountered her. She’s devilishly fast, and she always manages to steal something, even if it’s not valuable. She even stole coupons.” Pascaline seems to be in the know about this thief.

“Coupons can be valuable.” You don’t underestimate the power of coupons! Your mom certainly liked using them.

“You’re a really appreciative customer, Phil! Here, have some!” Pascaline loves you! As much as a vendor can love a client anyway. You got a free coupon!

“Any other detail you can give us, madam?” Wilma pretends she’s an investigator.

“Yes, this burglar never steals from the same person twice! We didn’t make a fuss about her since we thought she disappeared, but yesterday she struck again. I have no idea who the victim was.” Pascaline sighs. You know that person, it’s you! “You saw the incident, do you have a clue?”

“Sorry, can’t recall clearly, Pascaline. I’m not used to the people around yet.” You apologize profusely.

“No worries! Most vendors in the marketplace would be happy to replace the goods that were stolen.” Pascaline doesn’t mind. “The Police left an officer on the lookout for her, but since nobody has seen her lately, I don’t think he’s been around.”

“Who’s the officer in charge?” Wilma sounds like a professional.

“I can’t recall his name, but he sure loves his donuts. He’s an approachable guy, so me and the other vendors gave him some for his hard work!” Pascaline is a very tender woman.
>>
>>5044568

Though, getting pampered might be the reason why that officer didn’t get the case done…

“That’s all I know. Is there anything I can help with?” Pascaline kindly asks.

What do you do now?

“No, that’s all, Pascaline. You helped us immensely, but we need to go. We have a job to do.” You thank the Cheese Vendor.

“Y-You’re leaving so soon, Phil? Without taking a glance at my tasty dairy products?” A dismayed Pascaline adjusts her apron for unknown motives. “A-Are they not to your liki—?”

Never doubt your cheese.” You put one finger over her mouth to shut those awful words that can’t be taken back. “We’re in a hurry. I’ll buy your best cheese, and we’ll go.”

“Say my name again. Like I’m yours.” Pascaline won’t do anything until you pamper her.

“Pascaline.” You said it like always because you have no idea what she meant. You turn to Wilma, who gives you the same confused look you have back.

“Phil, I don’t know what the best cheese is… You two must stay and taste what I have to offer.” Pascaline doesn’t see it another way.

“I believe in you.” You will always trust your cheese goddess! Pascaline couldn’t keep eye contact…

“B-But w-what’s good cheese for if you can’t savor it?” Pascaline doesn’t want to rush it. “Let me give you a tiny sample to see your smile. That’s all I ask.”

“Sure, but be quick.” You think this is going to go for too long if you say otherwise.

In one swift motion, Pascaline cuts off a piece of cheese that was nearby, and leaves two pieces on a plate. “It’s local…”

“…!” Wilma finds it amazing! Pascaline finds her reaction amusing as she giggles.

“You never disappoint, Pascaline.” You wink because your eyes were getting dry. “Thank you, it was a lovely time, but we must go.”

“A-Are you leaving without a hug?” Pascaline opens her arms. Oh right, you forgot this Xumenlo tradition!

“Oh yeah.” You hug Pascaline again! You didn’t want to look rude. Pascaline puts something inside your hoodie’s pockets.

“A piece of the cheese I gave you…” Pascaline continues to hug you. “And my number.” She whispers in your ear as she stops hugging you. She somehow winks at you again. You respond with a smirk because you didn’t hear the last part all that well. “Take care!”

“You too!” You smile.

“Thank you, Ms. Pascaline!” Wilma is overjoyed too! She has a piece of cheese in her hands too, when did she get that? Pascaline can be pretty stealthy when she wants to be.

As you two walk away from the Cheese Stand, you brief Wilma about your next plan, using her as bait with the coupon. For a second there, Wilma believed you were going to use the cheese you just got, and she was about to have none of it. Thankfully, no misunderstanding happened, and even better, Wilma is excited to be part of this. She’s taken for granted that she's going to lose the coupons, so you shouldn’t worry about keeping them.
>>
>>5044662

Now you prepare the obvious bait in the same place you were pickpocketed. You’re hiding in the direct alleyway in front of the crime scene, while Wilma pretends to stretch her body with the coupons in her hands. With that hoodie on, she looks like she’s just dancing awkwardly.

And just like that, a slender figure with a ponytail rises from the shadows, with Wilma as her sole objective. She’s moving fast! You have little time to act!

With the dexterity and speed of a falcon, you launch yourself in pursuit of the burglar before she can reach Wilma! You won’t allow Wilma to be in any danger, not even the faintest one! With the determination this task gave you, you easily snatched the burglar from the waist onto your left shoulder even before she was a somewhat of a threat.

AAAaah?!” The Burglar shrieks in both confusion and fear!

“Got her.” You nonchalantly proclaim as you turn to Wilma.

“...C-Congratulations!” Wilma didn’t know what exactly to say but she’s overjoyed you did it.

“Hey! Buddy! Put me down!” The Burglar starts struggling to escape. Beating your back in the process. “What do you think you’re doing?!”

“Stopping your stealing spree.” You furrow your eyebrows even if she can’t see them.

“Huh?! I was just running!” The thief poorly defends herself.

“There is a no running sign over there.” You point at the wall near the entrance of the marketplace.

“I don’t think that’s a law, pal!” She continues beating you up.

“…W-Why were you running then?” Wilma demands an explanation.

“It’s a free country.” The thief is so wrong on so many levels. “I was exercising.”

“You stole from me yesterday; you think I couldn’t recognize you?” You reveal your true identity!

“That’s a hefty accusation, Buddy! You have something to back it up?” The pickpocket won’t admit any fault.

Yeah, but she also said that everyone they know has encountered the pickpocket, so it should be pretty easy to get an ID that she's the pickpocket.

I'm just not a big fan of literally shaking somebody down when we don't know if we can prove that they took anything that falls out of their pockets. It would be one thing if we caught them after they nabbed our coupon, but we got them before they actually grabbed anything so we can't nail her for that. “Yeah, just give me a sec.” You put your hands around the burglar’s arms.

You take the robber off your shoulder, carrying her right in front of you by the arms, then you start shaking her for proof! Let’s see what those pickpocketing pockets have pocketed away. A couple of items fall down, some which Wilma starts grabbing before they hit the ground. You can’t look down, because you fear she’ll escape...

“S-Stop it! I’m not a toy!” The embarrassed burglar shouts, feeling humiliated.

“…Got them.” Wilma tries to sound like you, she shows you the objects that fell. They don’t look like they belong to a person like her.

“Hey! You’re the one stealing now!” The Burglar just admitted to stealing…

“Then call for help.” You raise an eyebrow. She knows she can’t without confessing something… “I don’t think this stuff is yours.”

“P-Prove it!” The Robber wants evidence!

“…I-Is your name Robert?” Wilma shows her an engraved fancy pen. Feels like half the population is, so you’re not going to rule it out…

“That’s my dad’s name.” The girl doesn’t even flinch to lie like this.

“…What’s his last name?” Wilma hides the pen so she can’t see the answer.

“……..F-Fine! F-Fine! You got me! I got cocky!” The girl sees no point in lying anymore. “C-Can you put me down?! This is humiliating! E-Everyone is staring at us!”

You don’t see anyone bothering to look this way, in fact, most people are minding their own business buying stuff. In case this looks weird, you bring her to the alley.

“Is it better here?” You ask if she still feels uneasy.

“No! Put me down! If you don’t! I’m gonna start kicking!” The girl is getting angrier.

“Don’t make me tie you up.” You scold her! You can use your obscenely big hoodie for it!

“W-What are you going to do with me, knockout?” The unfriendly pickpocket doesn’t want to be in trouble.

That’s a good question…

What are going to do?

>Take her to Pascaline to be identified! Then take her to the police officer who is investigating her.
>Demand her to give you back your stuff and a heartfelt apology!
>Tie her up. Then ask her what her deal is. Why is she stealing stuff as a sport?

"Did you just call me Knockout? How do you know my nickname from back in those days...well, if you know that then you know what happens to people after I've knocked them out, so you'd better answer honestly. "

“I’m gonna tie you up and get some answers.” You shake her more to show you mean business.

“S-Stop shaking me!” The burglar girl looks really annoyed. “T-Tie me up? Y-You just said you weren’t going to!”

“You’re too much of a loose cannon.” You don’t want to hold her for the rest of the day.

“I-I don’t know about that! It looks like you’re just getting tired of carrying me!” The obnoxious evildoer noticed.

“Your arms will feel pretty sore if I continue.” You think it’s for her good too.

“Then let me go!” The speedster retorts without an ounce of shame.

“No. Wich, take off your hoodie, we’ll use it to tie her up. I’ll lend you mine in a second.” You have this plan concocted.

With her hands strapped behind her back, and her shoelaces tied, there is no way for this girl to run away. You’re all sitting on the ground, prepared for this interrogation to unfold.

“How’s the hoodie?” You ask.

“Y-You’re not funny!” The obnoxious girl barks as she struggles to free her hands unsuccessfully.

“Get a clue, I’m asking Wich here.” You were obviously talking about the tomato. What an ego on this thief girl, the world doesn’t revolve around her! It revolves around Wilma!

“…Warm.” Wilma seems to like it, despite it being so warm that it turns her into a tomato.

“That’s good.” You like hearing that, it’s cold outside and you don’t want her to get a cold. You wonder how Pascaline can withstand this climate… Now you turn to the thief. “Ms. Criminal, you’re going to tell us the truth even if you have pretty cool lies under your sleeve, you hear me?”

“The truth about what? And by the way, why should I, Knockout?! My lips are tight like they’re on a budget!” The criminal would bite you if she could reach you.

“If you’re nice to us, we’ll be nice to you back. But you already started on the wrong foot, so be careful.” You mean it!

“Pfffft, I’m shivering in fear here, Pussyfoot.” The unlikeable robber sarcastically remarks.

“Nah, it’s probably because your butt is on the street. It’s cold today. Now talk.” You adjust your glasses. Wilma agrees with you.

What?” The criminal can’t believe you just said that.

“Why are you pickpocketing people for fun? We know you’re just doing it for your own amusement, like it’s a sport.” You go to the heart of the situation. What’s her story?

“Huh? You’re not as stupid as you look...” The girl still chuckles ironically. If you had your long sleeves still, you would’ve slapped her with them! “At last, I’m gaining clout for this.” Literally everyone stopped caring about her… “Ha! You made my morning. I’ll talk.”

“Then do.” You shrug.

“I’m honing my skills, Pussyfoot.” She smirks.

“…F-For what reason?” Wilma is curious.

“To become as cool as Houda Lan, Noodlehead! I wanna become a Phantom Thief!” The speedster is proud of herself.

I don't have anything against someone who idolizes the guy fighting against Prancijan's current, highly corrupt, government and the wealthy families behind it. I can't even really say she's going about this in the wrong way, since she's only stealing single trivial items once per person. We got off on the wrong foot, but this girl is actually doing her best in her own way and I don't have a problem with that.

“Woah, you’re lame.” You look at her with pity.

“…” Wilma nods profusely. She believes this girl over here cannot be more of a letdown.

“Y-Yeah, laugh now! Nobody thinks I can do it. But once I take the whole world by a storm, you’ll feel stupid!” The girl’s ego is just a tiny bit hurt.

“It’s not about whether you can do it or not. It’s just so… boring.” You put your hand on her shoulder.

“…Mhm, you could do something useful instead.” Wilma is on your wavelength.

“You Gordogs can think what you want! Play vigilante! Obey your masters, you puppies! Play along with their rules, lick their boots, I don’t care. They won’t ever know what you’re called. But my name? My name will cause fear in them just like Houda’s.” This girl is way too smug for her own good. If Yu Yan was here, she would knock her down a notch or two. “Yeah, I called ‘em out! Your masters are nooothing to me! First time you hear someone do it, right?”

“No.” Wilma deadpans.

“Still, not our point.” You shake your head. “What you want to accomplish is just… such a letdown.”

“I stole from every single person in this town, Knockout! Nobody, and I mean nobody who I laid my eyes on escaped me. Xumenlo is my backyard. How is that a letdown?! Huh?!” The girl is defending her life’s legacy with tooth and nail.

“You steal coupons…” You sigh.

“T-T-That’s not the point! C-Can’t you see how difficult that was…? Like, nobody EVER has done something like this!” She won’t admit she’s a lame-o. “And I’ll finish it on a high note with the greatest heist this town has ever seen! I’m gonna take something from the highest police authority around! Her most valuable possession! This surely will captivate Houda Lan’s attention.”

“…By stealing coupons?” Wilma raises an eyebrow.

“Stop it with the coupons, you noodlehead!” The thief is damn serious about the dumbest things. Just like Matilda.

“…W-Why are you so sure this other thief will notice you?” Wilma is still curious about the petty thief.

“He’s always on the lookout for new talent! He has been needing help lately too, so it’s matter of when he’ll notice my raw talent! I’ll be all over the newspapers, you’ll see! He’s in Baochang too, so the timing couldn’t be better!” She’s so proud of herself you want to grab her cheek like Kata would do to Nariko. It’s adorable.

“Oh, so what do you intent to steal from Lt. van Zullekom that would be considered valuable?” You might get an important clue you weren’t expecting.

“I know what you’re going to do, Snitch. My lips are sealed like a bank safe!” The thief shouts back.

“You know, actually cool Phantom Thieves announce what their next target is, right? What’s the big deal if we know?” You try to bait her.

“…Heh, yeah, you’re right. There is no way I can be stopped.” The girl who has just been stopped says. “The ultimate symbol of servitude of all Gordogs: The Illustrious Prancijan Ring of Bravery.”

“What’s that?” You have no clue what she’s talking about.

“The stupid reward you get for outstandingly sucking up to your overlords.” The thief says all sarcastically. “Y’know, the thing they love parading around with their names on. She won’t be able to deny it! Like all cops, it’s her most important possession! She keeps it in a safe in her house, I’m so good I know the password.” She seems proud of herself. “Maybe you’re as stupid as you look. How do you not know what the ring is?”

“Because I’m not a bootlicker…” You shrug. “What’s your name?”

“Ha! Like I’m tellin’ ya!” She smirks.

“…How is anyone supposed to know about your phantom thief heroics if you don’t have a name?” You point out the obvious flaws. “Do you even know what a phantom thief is…?”

“How about… the Scarlet thief?” She seems to like her own idea.

“Sounds tewwible.” You don’t know why you threw that joke, nobody here is going to get it.

“I did, partner.” Philonune always has your back.

“…You shouldn’t steal. You’re going to get yourself in bigger trouble than what you can imagine.” Wilma doesn’t think this is a good idea to entertain.

“Spare me the lecture, Dunderhead.” The Bubble thief rolls her eyes. Wilma didn’t like that.

“…It’s way too dangerous, I’m just saying.” Wilma shakes her head.

“Anyway, nicknames need to be more poignant.” You point out. Like the Hostile Cutie!

“Call me Crossbill then.” Lamebill seems content with that name.

“That’s some kind of bird, right…?” Why do you know this? Is this the power of Knowledge Level 4?

“You do know something! That’s surprising! Congratulations, you get nothing.” No matter what she says, Crossbill is still an awful name.

“That ain’t true, Billy. I want my stuff back.” You remind her you were one of her victims. “Also, you couldn’t even steal a bike from a cop, could you?”

…Who are you?” Crossbill changes her stance. “You know way too much for someone I’ve never seen before yesterday. And, you came directly for me and… Y-You can’t possibly be… No! You’re not! Who are you, Knockout?!”

You hit the nail on the head with the bike. Problem is, adding all your questions together makes you look suspicious.

“I-I’m not tellin’ you where I live.” Crossbill doesn’t want you near her home. Trust goes both ways. “Buuut I don’t keep my winnings there, I have another place. I’ll give your stupid things back; I don’t have a use for almost any of ‘em. Pawn Shop doesn’t look my way anymore since he realized they were stolen goods. Someone probably snitched me out.”

“…Are you really going to?” Wilma isn’t trusting Crossbill yet.

“Only if you untie me right now, it’ll raise some eyebrows if you drag me around like this. So sorry, I’m not going to get my butt carried by you any longer, Knockout! I have some dignity!” Crossbill is willing to negotiate, but her demands are sketchy.

“I’m not carrying any butts until you tell me where this place is.” You’re not dumb enough to rush your decision. If Crossbill wants Serious Johnny, she’ll get Serious Johnny.

“You’re new here, Knockout. Even if I tell you, you’ll end up finding your way into the farmlands instead. If you’re really dyin’ to know, there’s a lil’ warehouse in town run by a man named Ewan, he keeps my stuff safe in there.” Crossbill doesn’t appear to be lying. “Just for you to know, you won’t get him to do anything without me around. He and I are tight like a deadline.” She probably doesn’t understand what she said, but it sounds provocative.

“…He’s your accomplice then?” Your assistant points out.

“W-Wait, that’s not it! D-Don’t get him in any trouble, ya hear me?! He has nothing to do with this!” Crossbill got agitated.

“We’re not saying a peep yet, calm down.” You adjust your glasses.

“Are we going somewhere or not? Because I don’t see us moving anywhere!” Crossbill complains.

“You just want us to go there?” You raise an eyebrow. It’s suspicious.

“No! I want you to untie me! I wanna be free!” Crossbill somehow manages to stand up and skip closer. “Y-You don’t know how much I hate this! I-It’s humiliating!”

What do you do?

“Fine, you’re free. Let’s go to the warehouse now.” You take the hoodie handcuffs off Crossbill, and exchange hoodies with Wilma. And your assistant is right, this one is a really warm one!

“…I-I’m cold.” Wilma gets to her backpack position without any shame whatsoever.

“There, there.” You pat your assistant’s head.

“W-Why are you doing that? Egh, we gotta go! Try to follow my pace!” Crossbill jumps immediately at the chance of using her long legs to run! Too bad her shoelaces were still tied, almost making her meet the ground face-first if you didn’t catch her by the waist. It was a difficult move with Wilma holding your back, but you pulled it off.

“D-Don’t be clumsy.” You say as you pull Crossbill back to her feet like a broom before falling.

“I-I was trying to get away from the second-hand embarrassment you two oddballs gave me!” Crossbill says nonsense. “Thanks anyway, I guess.” She’s difficult to please.

“…Show us the way, please.” Wilma doesn’t appreciate being called an oddball by the oddstick.

And so, in a matter of minutes, you arrived at the warehouse run by Ewan. It was near the edge of the Shopping District. It’s not a big building, but it’s a couple of storeys tall to be exact. Inside it feels oppressive, there are many shelves and not enough light. At the counter you find Ewan, he’s a funny looking guy with a nice moustache, he barely even cared about Crossbill, or who you were. He just handed the girl the key and you went inside her lot.

“Look around, take what you want, I can’t recall what I borrowed from you – and I don’t even care.” Crossbill gives you free reign to investigate.

“…You don’t recall?” Wilma can’t believe the audacity of Crossbill!

“Borrowed?” You can’t believe her audacity either!

“Y-You two are the ones who don’t want me in trouble? So it’s borrowed.” Now Crossbill cares about the legality of her actions. “Pussyfoot here didn’t put up much of a fight. Real challenges are what leave a mark, Puddinghead.”

“I-I’m not a Puddinghead!” That really offended Wilma for some reason.

“Sheesh! Easy there!” Crossbill didn’t expect Wilma to get this riled up.

“So, what’s the story? Why did you steal a police bike of all things?” You wanna know why Crossbill would do such an evil deed.

“Not proud of this one.” Crossbill has no shame admitting it. “The officer who this belongs to has sharpshooter eyes. I could never get a good angle on her, and the times I thought I had it, she just got the upper hand on me somehow.”

“But why the bike?” You raise an eyebrow.

“I’m getting there, Pussyfoot.” Crossbill wants to take her time. “I had her scouted very well. But not even I expected this to happen. The other day, it was there, in the middle of nowhere, her bike on the road. Just the farmlands and me. So I took it. I got her. I won.”

“Is that even considered pickpocketing…?” You have your doubts.

“It’s all about training, Knockout.” Crossbill doesn’t have any real shame. “But you’re on point. I don’t think I can take the win. I was planning on returning it at first, but I changed my mind when I realized someone else stole it first, so I wanted to find out who. Who bested her and how.”

“…How can you tell it was stolen?” Wilma doesn’t get it. You wanna know that plus how Crossbill knows that it was stolen right in front of Yareli.

“A cut-up rope tied on the back wheel.” Crossbill points at it. And would you look at that, there is a knot on the wheel. “The rope didn’t give in, it was cut. It’s odd, oddballs. That’s all.”

“But how do you know it was stolen in front of the cop?” Your turn to ask something.

“I heard her say it. She was on a mission, and then poof, it was gone.” Crossbill shrugs. “It’s not important now. You can take it away if you want, as long as I’m not directly helping those crooks, I’m good.”

“…She’s not a crook, she’s a kind person.” Wilma doesn’t like Crossbill shit talking Yareli.

“Wrong. She’s a Gordog. Don’t tell me you’re stupid enough to trust a cop? Do you even know what they do to people? What you see on TV is what they have overseas, but believe me, the ones here are inhumane.” Crossbill feels secure to air her grievances here. This is the heyday of Gordon Sr.’s dictatorship, so you don’t expect good things from the police… But Yareli and Kobashi are different!

“…Not Officer Yareli. Not Officer Kobashi. They’re different, our town is different.” Wilma doesn’t stutter to defend the people she believes in.

“You know why none of the cops in this town are from Xumenlo? Do you think they would be willing to hurt the people they know? Their neighbors, their families, their friends? Of course not, but them? They are a different story.” Crossbill isn’t joking. “They have corpses on their backs. Don’t trust ‘em.”

“I can’t say anything about the whole police squad in this town, but I can attest for those two.” You backup your assistant here.

“Why? Didn’t I make it clear that it makes no sense…?” Crossbill is really disliking you two.

“Because they are putting their lives on the line for me.” Wilma responds with conviction.

“Congratulations, I guess.” Crossbill looks away. “It’s not like they always say that.”

“…T-This is different!” Wilma doesn't want the name of those two good cops to be besmirched. “T-They are really helping me out…”

“Huh?” Crossbill finds that defense odd.

“Anyway, we went way off topic. Take our word, you can trust those two, and let’s leave at that.” You don’t want these two to keep arguing. “But I have to admit, Bill, I didn’t think you’d let us in here. Thank you for trusting us.”

“Naivety aside, you two piqued my interest.” Crossbill sounds more serious now that she has some control of the situation. “Besides, there’s only junk here.”

“…I’m sorry for the way I treated you, I-I didn’t want to be unfriendly.” Wilma apologizes. You think the fact that Crossbill is a petty thief is starting to get lost here.

“I didn’t take it personally, Puddinghead.” Crossbill smiles.

“…” Wilma really dislikes being called like that, but she doesn’t want to look like she’s getting too defensive, so she’s staying quiet.

“Question. Can you recall what item you stole from Ophelia Bruun?” You wanna know.

GGrrr?!” Crossbill gets shivers down her spin. “W-Why do you have to ask about the worst people around…?” The blonde regains her composure. “And yeah, let me find ‘em, I borrowed some strange binoculars... These. I took it when she was bird watching or something. You can keep it if you want.”

“Huh, they look weird…” You think it’s like… a piece of junk. You look through them and see nothing of note. “Thanks.”

Maybe they are important?

"Oh so you noticed something about Ophelia Bruun huh? What do you think about the orphanage she and Sieb run?

You know she used to work for the government. Rather than being so hostile to these petty cops, who aren't all so bad as you think...though I'm sure you have reasons to think that...what would you think about making an actual difference that Houda Lan would notice?"

If we can feel her out a bit I wouldn't be opposed to using her in our plan. Seems like she'd be perfect to either serve as a distraction or to get something valuable while a distraction is going on. First though we'll need to introduce some doubt in her black-and-white view of government workers.

“It’s nothing. There are a lot of oddities in Bird watching equipment.” Crossbill is trying hard not to look too knowledgeable about this stuff.

“Wait, you actually think she bird-watches?” You thought it was a joke.

“What else could she be doing? She was looking up the whole time.” Crossbill acts like this makes sense.

“Watching clouds?” You shrug. Hobo Nariko used to do that, and you started doing the same recently, trying to find some that look like Gio. “Anyway, who wants some cheese?” You pull out the bag that was taken from you before. Wilma is interested.

“No. Get a clue, I’m giving it back.” Crossbill isn’t interested.

“Did you even give it a try?” You raise an eyebrow.

“It stinks.” Crossbill doesn’t get the point of cheese.

“Just have a little.” You act like your mom.

“I guess…” Crossbill doesn’t get why she has to eat with you two.

You three ended up eating everything inside the bag.

“Do you see the light now?” You smugly nudge Crossbill.

“F-Fine! It’s great! Whatever!” Crossbill has become Ratbill now. “W-W-Why are we eating cheese together?!”

“…Don’t forget the fruit.” Wilma continues chewing an apple.

“Why are we eating together?!” Ratbill’s frustration is palpable.

“So you can taste these delicious local products?” You think it’s obvious.

Wilma pulls your hoodie’s stupidly long sleeve; she’s letting you know there is not much time left and you need to go back to the Camper.

What do you do with Crossbill?

>Leave her be.
>Leave her be, but tell her your name.
>Leave her be, but ask for a way to contact her.
>Ask her to come along, and about things she noticed about the Orphanage.
>Write In.

What do you do now?

>Take Wilma back to the Camper and prepare to go to van Zullekom’s home.
>Stay here for a little bit and look around more. You’ll run to make up for the time loss.
>Go for more Cheese to eat.
>Write In.

Imagine capturing a cute thief girl in the act, tying her up, then literally carrying her ass all the way to the closest hotel room to fuck her silly. If only Johnny wasn't so dense or uninspired... or busy on this mission or that stealth job... or dealing with this dummy or that dumbass...

I wonder if that would encourage or discourage her to/from committing more thefts?

“Crossbill, this is where we part ways... For now.” You press Yareli’s bike bell for funsies as you deadpan. “I want a way to contact you. Our business isn't done yet.”

“I wouldn’t have let this end here. We’re tied. Cheap tricks and all, you got me. And I can't go for the big prize like this.” Crossbill gives you some credit for what you accomplished. “’Sides, you’re shrouded by mystery. Helping cops, hanging with Wilma the runaway, and asking about that blue hell hole orphanage. I have the hunch I’m not going to learn anything about ya if it isn’t directly coming from your mouth, Knockout.”

“…!” Wilma can’t believe her disguise was seen through.

“Your disguise is good, took a while to make the connection, but my memory is fresh since I saw your face recently plastered at the Diner.” Crossbill softens the blow. “I’m sure there’ll be more hanging around at this point. I’m gonna make sure to take those signs off, just don’t tell anyone about this place, you hear me?”

“You will? Thank you, it’s going to help us out a ton!” You nod. Pretending otherwise will make you look suspicious; besides, you see no point in hiding this information.

“…Yeah. Thanks!” Wilma appreciates it a lot as well. You were right! Cheese brings people together! Fruit is great too!

“You’re going to cause some mayhem. I can see it.” Crossbill states it as a fact. Not like it’s good or bad. “Here’s my number. Call for Room 111.” Crossbill writes on a piece of paper she reaped from a notebook she stole… “Now give me yours.”

“I have no idea what mine is.” You aren’t used to remembering phone numbers! Did you even write it down? You probably didn’t… How careless. “I’ll give it to you when I call you, I promise.”

“K-Keep your word then, scatterbrain.” Crossbill doesn’t want to play any games. “We know about each other's secrets, remember? You’re a runaway, and I have this hideout. If one says a peep, the other can say a pow, and our lives will be thrown inside a dumpster. So, I have no other choice but to trust you.”

“…This isn’t really trust.” Wilma looks down.

“Don’t be pedantic now.” Crossbill doesn’t think that’s the point.

“Well, Crossbill, it was a pleasure. But we must go. I’ll see you when the time is right.” You grab Yareli’s bike, and start walking away…

“Before you go, Knockout...” Crossbill grabs your arm. “I’m calling it now, I’m gonna steal your glasses.

“…Is that a challenge?” Wilma won’t allow Crossbill to steal anything anymore.

“A friendly one.” Crossbill smirks. You don’t like this. Without your glasses you’re basically blind. “Now you can leave…” Crossbill turns around without looking at your direction anymore. How awkward. You leave her be, and the two of you leave the Warehouse.

…Maybe the reason Crossbill is challenging you is because she really liked being picked up like a child. Is that a kink of sorts? You’re surrounded by weirdos. Except Ewan. He is cool.

Together, you rode the bike to the Camper, coming back earlier than you anticipated, yet not awfully too much in the clear time either. Like it was planned by a sensible person who respects everyone’s time. Because that’s what you are. A sensible person.

On the way, Wilma revealed some important facts about Crossbill, or you should say: Charlotte. She was Cookie’s track running rival and mentor before she graduated school. It surprised Wilma that Charlotte never made the connection, Wilma assisted Cookie’s training sessions more often than not before joining the Orphanage of the Blue… Wilma feels forgettable. You pat her head to tell her she’s a very memorable tomato. She was confused. You were confused. Point is, it’s better to be confused than sad. Before you could ask why she kept this information from you, you arrive at the camper.

“Phil…” Wilma stops you before opening the camper’s door.

“What is it, Wilma?” You look at your hoodie sister with appreciation.

“…Thank you for everything.” Wilma smiles but hides it under the stupidly long sleeves.

“Don’t mention it.” You only care about her well-being. “Let’s high-five with our sleeves.”

“…Huh?” Wilma doesn’t get your proposition.

“Like, our sleeves are so long, we can use them to high-five each other. C’mon, Wich, show me what you got.” You raise both hands.

“…!” Wilma skips to reach the height of your arms and high fives you with both sleeves!

“Yeah! That’s it!” You chuckle. Wilma seems overwhelmed by this for some reason. “Let’s get in...”

And so, the main tomato was returned to her mobile fridge after a long campaign of discovery and wonder. You briefed both Matilda and Oliver about said campaign, couldn’t go into much detail, you’re strained for time. And about the information they uncovered? They wrote down a summary for you and gave you back the documents. If you need to know any specifics, you should call the camper for help. Either way, they’re confident about their findings. So, you got this place’s Phone Number. If Chio got it, you should’ve had it too long ago, damn it!

Matilda was planning on accompanying you to van Zullekom’s house, but they received a call from Mirjam and Grace soon after you two left, warning you that high school Regulars have noticed your Mobile Home, and like conspiracy-theorists little idiots, they find it suspicious with the recent disappearances and want to investigate it. So, the plan for now is to get out of sight from town for a while until this dies off, and just come around if necessary. Matilda will stay for safety. What a bummer.

You wanted a preview of the summary before taking off, but with so little time left, as soon as you were ready to leave, they took off out of town. You imagine they went near the farmlands you first appeared at. You don’t know if these decisions are sensible or rushed, but you have to deal with the hand you’re given. Matilda is not the kind of person who rests on her laurels.

At least you have this bike to move around… They were nice enough to write down where van Zullekom’s home location is on their notes. Including a shitty little map just in case, it must’ve been done by Oliver. He cares about the little details. So off you go.

Hmph, there is a phone booth on the map too, in case you don’t have a way to call back. Why does this trigger bad memories…?

You're riding a bike, you should be joyful, all games have happy music when their playable character rides one!

Now you’re back at van Zullekom’s home. It was dark yesterday, but you remember the place very well. With your trusty Pointer, a couple of Gordollars, the documents in your backpack, the weird Googles you obtained, and a Stolen Police Bike. You’re ready to challenge van Zullekom.

Before you can even think if you should ring the bell or knock, the door opens, and the gleeful glare of your favorite policewoman meets your eyes.

“We were waiting. Welcome.” Yareli gives you some space to enter the building. “You brought the documents, right?”

“Yeah, they're right here, I…” You smell something delicious. “What’s that smell?”

“Kobashi is cooking for Vanessa.” Yareli would sound exhausted if she had a greater range of emotions than an answering machine. “She just woke up.”

Why is he making such a lovely meal for someone he distrusts?! Anyway, you must concentrate…

Show Bike to Yareli now?

>Yeah! You recovered her bike! A Petty Thief named Charlotte took it!
>Yeah! You recovered her bike! You just found it lying around…
>Nah. Not yet. Not the time.
>Write In.

What do you do?

>Confront van Zullekom with Pointer in hand. The truth will be uncovered now.
>Hand the Summary to Yareli, meet with Kobashi at the Kitchen.
>Ask Yareli if they found van Zullekom’s safe…

“Hey, I have good timing.” You congratulate yourself about being punctual because no one else would. “Oh, by the way, I have a surprise for you…” You bring the bike forward. “I recovered your bike! Good ol’ 006.”

“…” Yareli grabs her bike then plays with its bell, with the same exuberance a teenage kid has when playing with their new pair of socks their least favorite aunt gave them at their birthday party…

“…” You cough.

“Where did you find it?”

“It’s a secret.” You adjust your glasses.

“Confess.” Yareli thinks you might’ve done an unlawful act.

“I-I didn’t commit any crimes, I swear.” You thought you were past these kinds of doubts. The person who stole it did! Multiple times! And it’s kind of the police station’s fault that it kept happening…

“In that case… Thank you.” Yareli rings the bell again.

“Don’t mention it.” You wave it off.

“I won’t.” Yareli deadpans.

“Right.” You nod.

The Yareli-Bike Reunion has been completed to its fullest. Here they are, Together Again.

“…” Yareli walks past you and parks the bike on the house’s porch, next to where you’re standing.

“…” Oh yeah, you forgot there is no reason to bring the bike inside. Yareli returns to where she was standing.

“C’mon, don’t be shy.” Yareli asks as she notices you’re not moving a muscle and invites you in.

“Yeah.” You enter the house…

Tomato Reunion? Worth the trouble and more. This? What a letdown… You’re still happy you did it though… Maybe deep inside Yareli really appreciates it, but she just can’t show her true feelings because she’s like that. Or she never cared about a stupid bike and you should try to find another way to cope with it instead of fantasizing about nonsensical sappy reunions. Not everything you do has to be truly significant, right? Besides, it’s just a bike...

Maybe Crossbill is right and cops are awful… Anyway, you have work to do.

You’re inside van Zullekom’s house, the living room. It’s mainly soft colored creamy-like working in conjunction with the dark brown of the wood, making everything stand out. The furniture is mostly made out of wood, highly ornamented, tethering towards a vintage look. There are a handful of display cases, full of randomly selected items like a pawn shop. The feeling you have is that you could guess some things in them have a lot of monetary value and others don’t. There are mostly fancy plates, so maybe you’re just overthinking it.

“Oh right! Here’s a summary Sugar and Leo worked on together about the files. Check them out if you want.” You hand the key information to the ingrate police woman with a bike she doesn’t care about.

“Interesting.” Yareli latches her eyes on the papers like they weren’t her bike. Okay, you need to let the bike stuff go.

“Two questions.” You interrupt her reading before she goes in too deep. “Did you find van Zullekom’s safe?”

“A safe? I’m afraid not. I don’t have the faintest idea of what you’re talking about, but please, elaborate.” Yareli is interested in knowing more.

“Sorry, it’s existence is all a lil’ birdie told me.” You apologize half-heartedly. “Well, and that in it, van Zullekom has some kind of important police ring?”

“…The Ring of Bravery, perhaps.” Yareli hesitates a second before letting you know what you already know.

“That’s the one.” You did forget the name, but not enough to not know it if you hear it! “I know what you’re thinking, I don’t care about the ring, but maybe there is something else inside?” You open the possibility.

“I never said anything.” Yareli refuses to admit you read her mind. “It’s something else we need to ask Vanessa. What is your other question?”

“Where’s the kitchen?” You look around confused. It’s quite the odd

“Go through that door. I’ll bring Vanessa to the living room.” Yareli walks away to another mysterious room.

You walk to the place Yareli pointed at without a hitch. Kobashi is there, delighted to see you like an old friend would. You smack talk for a little bit then the conversation turns to the food he’s preparing. Kobashi is preparing a bunch of van Zullekom’s favorite dishes for breakfast, and they’re far from the healthiest selection as you can imagine, these are the preferences of a person who thinks Poptarts are apology letters after all.

Lieutenant's favorites, huh? Your mind is racing now, there are more ways to break Janeeva Conventions… but is it worth it?

Lieutenant van Zullekom has been one of the toughest people to crack you’ve encountered. You can’t skimp on the tactics employed if you want results, no matter how bleak in nature they are. Yes, ever since you and Yu Yan used this method against Nariko to make her spill the truth about the food missing in your fridge, you made yourself a promise to never employ such darkness to find answers. But today, just this once, you’ll have to return to it and embrace it… You will weaponize food.

But to proceed, you need Kobashi’s approval, it’s not your food. You disclose your plans and ask permission to bring the food to the living room. Food that van Zullekom may never touch. Understandably, Kobashi struggles to give you an answer as he continues to put cream in the Traditional Prancijanian Banana Split he’s making, something that would make Scarlet’s mouth water, it’s almost as big as half the portion of the stuff she usually eats! With a heavy mind, Kobashi accepts. You grab the tray full of sweet goodness to the living room. The policeman will stay here, preparing even more spoils…

Without losing yourself in the details, the living room harbors a longish table surrounded by two comfy couches, and armchairs at each head. One of the long couches was used by someone to sleep. Lt. van Zullekom is sitting on one of the armchairs with Yareli standing next to her.

“M-Mr. Noon? You’re here as well? I hope you had the most comfortable of night sleeps here!” Lt. van Zullekom seems to have suppressed the terrible memories from before collapsing. “What’s that delicious smell?”

“It’s this. All your favorites.” You leave the tray with overflowing delicacies in the middle of the table, out of anyone’s reach except your own as you sit on the couch. “They look good, don’t they?”

“They most certainly do! And I’ll be happy to take a bite! B-But I don’t believe I can eat these on my lonesome!” van Zullekom is surprised by the amount. Err, Kobashi is certainly used to making big meals for everyone.

“Relax, you won’t get the chance.” You cross your arms and lean back. “…Unless you answer our questions properly.”

“I-I beg your pardon?” Lt. van Zullekom doesn’t get this is a normal meal.

“I bet you’re really hungry, an early bird that hasn’t eaten at noon must be starving. If you cooperate, you’ll get some. If not, I’m sure Officer Yareli will happily eat this for you.” You explain the terms to van Zullekom.

“No.” Yareli won’t eat.

“Officer Yareli won’t be happy to eat this for you, but she’ll do it anyway because she’s a good cop that really values teamwork.” You glare at Yareli. Yareli looks away, she knows she’s not doing her part!

“B-But I was cooperating before! This is unnecessary!” van Zullekom doesn’t get it.

“After I did you-know-what.” You point out. “Am I understood?”

Vanessa nods as she keeps staring at the food, obviously lured by it.

“Before we start, Yareli keep an eye on her. I need to make a call, where’s the phone?” You ask the picky policewoman to cover for you for a moment.

“Over there.” Yareli points at the phone on the wall. “What are you planning on doing?”

“Calling back up.” You adjust your glasses and go to the phone.

“C-Can I eat something in the meantime?” Lieutenant wants to get closer to the food.

“Uhm… No.” You point at van Zullekom.

You decided to call Shiva School to talk to Grace and Mirjam, pretending you’re their guardian and that you needed to chat about something important. How did you know the number? There’s a phonebook next to where you’re standing, these things are massive! Anyway, they aren’t at school but at work. Working during school time? You had no idea this was a thing, but you don’t get how much of the past is supposed to go. The man you’re talking with gives you their Job’s number because he couldn’t care less about what’s going on.

You contacted the tomato duo through their work line, it’s some kind of cleaning service, so you had to request them both to come here at van Zullekom’s house. The Lieutenant will have to deal with the costs...

“Here you are!” You open the door to the house after a short wait.

“Phil!” Both Mirjam and Grace hug you without hesitation, to believe they were so shy at first... They are both wearing the same uniform: Overalls, a hat and a plain T-shirt with their company’s logo.

“I missed you two.” You smile as you hug them tighter. “Okay, enough of that!” You stop holding them.

“Getting a little clingy already, Mirjam.” Grace starts teasing her sister as she was the last one of the two to stop holding you.

“N-No! I-It’s not like that! I-It’s just that… i-it’s been a while! No! I mean, you were on top of me!” Mirjam gets embarrassed.

“No time for teasing, girls.” You adjust your glasses to show this is serious.

“Can’t say I was expecting you to call, Phil!” Grace doesn’t believe her luck. “How is our Wilma?”

“She’s doing well, rrrright?” Mirjam is worried about her sister too.

“Yup, she’s doing great. Nothing to worry about.” You smile with confidence. “We can catch up later, I need your help.”

“Anything you need cleaned, we got it!” Mirjam is ready to help!

“Y-Yeah, cleaning… Woohoo…” Grace isn’t in high spirits any more.

“You should look more ecstatic, Grace. It’s your firrrrst day!” Mirjam tries to be more cheerful. They are working together at the same job after all.

“No, girls, I need you for something else. Leave the stuff inside and follow me.” You show them the way to your torture session...

At the living room, Yareli is standing right behind van Zullekom, who has both of her hands tied on her lap. The lieutenant must’ve tried to eat something. Naturally, everyone was confused as to the reason for each other’s presence, so you let them know what you’re scheming. Mirjam and Grace will eat the food if van Zullekom lies.

Lieutenant doesn’t understand why this needs to happen, Yareli has mixed feelings, but Grace and Mirjam are beyond excited about this! You asked Yareli to let Kobashi know about the orphanage girls before starting the questioning. When the cold cop girl returns, she arrives with ever more plates full of sweets and the chef’s approval…

“W-We can eat what we want…!?” Grace is not ready for this banquet. You’re sitting in the middle of the duo on the couch, with the food right in front.

“This must be a drrream…” Mirjam can’t believe her eyes.

“You heard the rules. But I promise you’ll eat some even if the Lieutenant cooperates.” You give them a thumbs up.

“I don’t believe they should be listening to this.” Yareli isn’t thrilled about this bit.

“Well said, officer!” van Zullekom doesn’t like this in the slightest.

“Chill, officer Yareli, we won’t tell a soul about this!” Grace is a good girl.

“We prrrromise!” Mirjam is a good girrrrl too. Both are sparkling and full of happiness.

“I… I can’t say no to those faces.” Yareli looks away, expressionless but somehow overwhelmed.

“…I need a drink.” Lieutenant van Zullekom doesn’t want to live anymore.

“Phil, that ice cream is melting, can we eat it?” Grace asks politely.

“Sure, all yours!” You hand the Banana Split to Grace so she can share with Mirjam.

“N-No! Not the Banana Split!” van Zullekom is dismayed.

“C-Can we share some with the Lieutenant?” Mirjam already feels bad.

“Well, if she answers this question properly.” Time for you to get serious. “So, lieutenant, the files we found in your office yesterday, we looked through them, and we have some questions.”

“Q-Query away…” Lieutenant has her eyes on the banana split slowly being eaten. Like ice cream is supposed to be eaten. Slowly. Not like Scarlet at all.

“Yareli…” You turn to the Silent Officer. She was reading the files. You didn’t. You’re a fraud.

“If you recall, you asked Officer Kobashi to collect concrete evidence about the Orphanage of the Blue’s criminal acts because what we had wasn’t enough to get the verdict. You felt that we have one chance or else the Government will bury the case. And in all fairness, you’re most likely correct about both the weight of the evidence and the Government’s actions. Yet the file about the Orphanage has plenty of damning evidence that will be upheld at the tribunals. It has all the clues that came from us and moreMore than anyone has seen before. Can you explain yourself?”
>>
>>5055994

“Wait, you knew about what was happening to Wilma!?” Grace got that right!

“A-And you were keeping it hidden?!” Mirjam got it too! They won’t feel bad about eating the food anymore!

“Girls, not now.” Yareli wants to hear van Zullekom. “Lieutenant?”

“After Officer Kobashi’s initial report, I did my own investigation, but I don’t believe there was sufficient evidence to move on ahead.” Lt. van Zullekom turns her head to the side. “If I was planning on covering the Orphanage of the Blue’s tracks, I have no reason to keep those files in my office, in fact, they’d be gone.”

Lieutenant turns to you and tilts her head…

How do you respond?

“You never mentioned doing any investigation of your own before, what gives?” You point out the obvious contradiction. She was acting like Kobashi was doing this all on his own! Van Zuspicious strikes again!

“Hold on a second, ciivy! I never denied I was looking into it!” van Zullekom is wearing her clueless shocked expression.

“My question is: why didn't you mention it before?” You clarify before she goes through the branches instead of the trunk of this metaphorical truth tree!

“I have my reasons to keep quiet about it.” van Zullekom gazes down.

“Go ahead and explain why.” Yareli is waiting for the actual answer.

“Mr. Noon, yesterday, you asked me if someone in my position can verify Secret Government Files. After much deliberation I revealed to you that wasn’t the case.” Lt. van Zullekom turns her eyes towards you, then starts playing with her hands on her face. “…Yet I was able to. There’s a way, more than one as a matter of fact.” Zullekom smiles. “I carried out a clandestine investigation. Much of the information you found on those files are illicit, Officer Kobashi’s work on the case is replacing the clues I gathered for ones that can stand in court. And I cannot reveal the reasons as to why I have gone through great lengths to keep this information secret, all I can do at this point is ask not to force me to reveal it.”

“If you ask politely, she’s just gonna say it? Is that how it works? Since when…?” Grace doesn’t get why it is that simple as she keeps eating her banana split.

“G-Grace, be quiet! W-We’re supposed to mind our own business…” Mirjam doesn’t want to be discourteous.

“…” You know you can force van Zullekom to talk… But…

What do you do?

>“If you don’t spill it out, there’s no food!” Time to use the food blackmail!

I don't quite like the specific wording of the choice referencing Chewnette's son, because that doesn't bait her into providing more information.
>Write In
"If this is because of the research you did regarding Chewnette's son, we already know about that. Is there some other reason?

The fact of the matter here is that you're asking me to trust you that whatever reason you have is worth more than the pain and suffering those at the Orphanage are going through day you delay bringing a stop to their actions, and the problem is that you're asking me to trust you on that while you've only hidden things so far. I assume you think that I ought to just trust you because you're a policewoman, but you and I both know that trusting the police is difficult for a member of the public that has seen what Officer Liam was up to. If you want me to let you keep your secret then persuade me to trust you some other way, okay?"
>>
>>5056108
Blergh, lemme rewrite that latter portion.

The fact of the matter is that you want me to trust you that you have a good reason for your actions. A good enough reason for you to delay action despite the pain and suffering all the kids at the Orphanage of the Blue are going through every day.

The problem is that you're asking me to trust you on that while you've only hidden things from us so far. I'm willing to consider that you might have a suitably good reason to justify that, however I want you to consider this from my point of view as well.

From my point of view, the only reason I might trust you is that you're a police officer, however my trust in police officers that I don't personally know (like Yareli and Kobashi) is shaken on account of what I saw with Liam. Liam who took despicable actions while under your watch.

So simple trust in police officers won't cut it. If you want me to stop pressing you for your secret, if it's truly worth keeping secret...then you have to persuade me to trust you in some other way, and for some other reason. Right now all your actions are just coming off as suspicious or circumstantial.

"Are you hiding this because of what you did regarding Chewnette's son, or do you have some other reason?

You say that Officer Kobashi's work on the case is to replace the clues you gathered for ones that can stand in court, but you told Kobashi to stop investigating the orphanage. Why? This doesn't add up, but it's only one of the inconsistencies with you.

You're putting up this nice and pleasant facade, and asking me to trust you. Condisder that I have to weigh your actions against the pain and suffering the Orphanage of the Blue inflicts every day you tarry on pursuing this case. Is your reason good enough to warrant the suffering of several dozen innocent children?

Maybe it, maybe it isn't, but you're going to have to do better than 'just trust me on this' in order to persuade me. You just being a police officer isn't going to cut it with me, especially not after I've seen the things Liam did while operating under your watch."

“Are you hiding this because of what you did regarding Chewnette’s son, or do you have some other reason?” You make a wild assumption.

“…” Lt. van Zullekom gives you a stink eye, full of distrust. Like you weren’t supposed to know this. “I request you once again to not push me to reveal my motives.”

“Vanessa, don’t make me resort to something I don’t want to.” You point at her with conviction.

“I apologize, Mr. Noon. But I cannot do it willingly. You’ll have to find a way to force it out of me.” Zullekom turns her head around with dignity. Then her stomach makes some noise…

“Fine! If you don’t spill it out, there’s no food!” You’re not playing around.

“D-Did all your kindness leave your body yesterday? W-Where is your humanity, Mr. Noon? Reconsider!” Lt. van Zullekom has maintained her composure for far too long, but her façade is fractured now.

“Hey, you’re the one who’s keeping this big secret! A big secret that is hurting everyone!” Grace rightfully points out.

“Y-Yeah! N-Nobody is forrrrcing you to be quiet!” Mirjam agrees that the Lieutenant is not cooperating.

“I laid down the rules, Lieutenant. You know them.” You grab a knife, and start caressing the pie with it. “You heard that, Lieutenant? It’s crusty…”

“…So?” Lt. van Zullekom gulps loudly as she averts her gaze.

“Here, girls.” You cut two slices of pie and give them to Grace and Mirjam. “Please tell us in detail what this delicious pie tastes like.”

“S-Should we…?” Mirjam doesn’t know if she wants to break Janeeva conventions.

“It’s shooo good, best thing evah!” Grace didn’t even take a moment of consideration and engulfs herself with sugary goodness. “Like, oh my gosh, it’s melting on my tongue…”

“G-Grace! You—”

Have a taste!” Grace puts a piece of pie in Mirjam’s mouth, interrupting her. “How’s this?”

“…It’s a blessing.” Mirjam grabs both cheeks as she continues tasting the pie. “W-What’s this…?” Mirjam starts chewing her portion now.

“Apple pie.” You can smell it with precision.

“A-Apple pie?!” van Zullekom couldn’t keep ignoring what’s happening upon hearing those words, she’s attentively watching the tomato duo enjoy themselves.

“Apple pie? Is it, like, healthy?” Grace asks even though she would keep eating even if it wasn’t the case.

“It must be! It’s so grrreat!” Mirjam lives in a world of fantasy now. How irresponsible.

“C-Can we have more, Phil?” Grace asks nicely.

“Of course! Here’s another slice for you two!” You serve them more!

“Thank you!” Mirjam is overjoyed. The duo continues chewing their food…

“…” Yareli is another attentive witness...

“You want a slice too?” You ask the silent cop. Yareli just looks away in response, feigning uninterest.

“H-How about me?” van Hungry wants a little.

“Ready to confess then?” You raise an eyebrow.

“Y-You’re being most disagreeable, Mr. Noon! Let’s just set our differences aside for a moment and enjoy this meal together before it gets cold.” Lt. van Zullekom tries to be friendly.

“How about no?” You shake your head. “So, girls, how much do you like chocolate cake?” You start cutting more slices…

“L-Like real chocolate cake?!” Grace asks like there’s fake ones. “I’m so on!”

“M-Me too!” Mirjam is all excited as well.

[15 Minutes have passed]

“G-Grace, be careful with staining the uniforrrm…” Mirjam notices her sister is not being careful enough eating the banquet.

“I’m not listening to you, Chocolate Moustache.” Grace is enjoying life far too much to care anymore.

“Huh!?” Mirjam cleans her face with a napkin.

“…” Lieutenant Vanessa van Zullekom appears to be at her limit. Her schizophrenic look isn’t the most flattering.

At one point, the Lieutenant attempted to steal some food by throwing herself at the table, but Yareli stopped her. Now you’re sitting beside the lieutenant making sure she doesn’t do anything stupid, feeding the duo in front of you with care and love. Also, Yareli is sitting next to Grace and Mirjam, enjoying some flan. Not even the cold cop could resist the temptation.

“Wanna talk now?” You use a fork to poke at the Lieutenant, probably triggering bad memories.

“N-No…” Lt. van Zullekom is stronger than you think now that she’s well rested.

Out of the blue, Kobashi appears with a giant fucking cake, it’s monumentally big, and so unbridled that it looks like a one-way ticket to heart-attack station. Not even Scarlet could eat something this big even if it was made out of ice cream! Who are you kidding? You already saw that happening… Anyway, van Zullekom looks like she’s about to become crazy.

Woaaah!” Both tomatoes are in awe of the size of this thing…

“What’s that…?” Yareli couldn’t look in shock even if she was electrocuted, but she’s trying!

“Eh, I just combined all the leftovers into this! I don’t have a name for it.” Kobashi says it like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

Lt. van Zullekom is at her limit. Her mouth’s watering a waterfall.

What do you do?

>“It smells good, I wonder what it tastes like…” Nudge the Lieutenant and act like the devil.

“All the leftovers?” Mirjam doesn’t see a way this can taste any good.

“Yeah, just imagine every single dish here into one, the flavors don’t mix that much, and the ones that do are complementary. It’s difficult to explain, you’ll have to take a bite out of it.” Kobashi can’t put into words despite how proud of this monstrosity he is.

“I can picture it! Like everything here is super delicious and all.” Grace feels like a culinary expert now. “But it can wait! There’s a lot of food here that’ll go cold before this one!” Grace feels so comfortable that she can be picky.

“We can save some for Wilma, Cookie and Chio if that’s the case.” Mirjam is as nice as ever.

“Yeah, let’s save some pudding for Wilma! But I’m not sure about Cookie, she got pudgy.” Grace grabs a chocolate cake slice and eats like a snack. “Besides, I’m not sure if there’s enough food to spare.”

“That’s trrrrue.” Mirjam agrees as she takes a slice of cake for herself… “But this super cake might be too much.” Might…?

“Okay, I’m lying. I’m full. I’ve been full for a while.” Grace admits defeat. Sadly for her, only Nina can eat this much cake without restraint.

“Yeah. Let’s save some for laterrrr.” Mirjam joins the loser camp. Nariko could’ve probably eaten everything if you made it. But the tomato duo? They are human after all…

“But who’s going to eat my masterpiece…?” Kobashi is sad about the tomato duo’s pathetic attempts. “Yareli… My angel?”

“Are you out of your goddamn mind?” Yareli refuses profusely.

“Aw, then who?” Kobashi looks down again.

“I-I need… to stay strong…” Lt. van Zullekom is shaking.

“It smells good, I wonder what it tastes like…” You tempt the Lieutenant as you nudge her elbow with a cheeky grin on your face.

“I guess I’m throwing it away...” Kobashi grabs the monster cake.

I’LL TALK! I’LL TALK! JUST LET ME EAT IT, PLEASE!!!” Lieutenant van Zullekom loses all dignity as she shrieks about the weird looking monster cake!

How do you respond?

>“Then talk first.” You want your answers.

“Then talk first.” You grab van Zullekom’s arm to stop her from jumping onto the cake.

“M-Mercy… I’m starving…” van Zullekom’s stomach makes tragic opera sounds.

“You ate some pudding.” Yareli reminds her that in her failed attempt to eat all the food, van Zullekom did eat something.

“I-It clearly wasn’t enough!” Lt. van Zullekom is behaving like a child.

“Kobashi, take the cake away.” You won’t cooperate until the Lieutenant cooperates! Kobashi grabs the plate as Mirjam and Grace wonder if the wobbly cake won’t fall on them.

NOO!” Lt. van Zullekom acts like you’re taking her firstborn away.

“You know what to do.” You remain firm.

“I’LL TALK, I’LL SING, I’LL EVEN DANCE IF THAT’S WHAT YOU WANT!” Lt. van Zullekom starts flailing her arms around erratically. “Just… mercy…

Lieutenant van Zullekom is beyond her limits, you know for a fact that whatever you ask next, only the truth is going to come out of her mouth. It’s just a hunch, but you’re certain of it! You can tell these things after everything you’ve gone through the last couple of months.

“Are you working alongside Ophelia Bruun?” You ask the definitive question, one that will change the course of this investigation!

NO! I’M NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!” Lieutenant Vanessa van Zullekom reveals that… she’s not involved with Ophelia Bruun.

Kobashi drops the cake on the table, turning the room into absolute silence.

“The concealment, the code messages, your erratic behavior. And now you say you’re not cooperating with her, it doesn’t add up, Vanessa!” Kobashi rightfully points out.

“Kobashi. Get a hold of yourself.” Yareli puts some order.

“I-It may not make sense to you, b-but that’s the truth!” The Police Lieutenant is almost on the verge of tears. You feel like you’re going back to square one, but if this is a breakthrough, then you need to know her real reason for this whole case.

“Then what’s your plan? What are you scheming for?” You know there’s something going on still.

“P-Please, gentlemen. Can you just admit you were wrong…? I won’t ever hold any of this against you, I know you had the people’s best interest in mind! You have done an admirable job! But there’s no more to it!” van Zullekom will forgive an attempt on her life just for a piece of cake.

“Hey, Officer van Zullekom, answer his questions! Don’t be like Mirjam and change the subject!” Grace noticed that the policewoman might be purposefully avoiding the questions.

“I-I don’t do that! I-I just feel like I need to explain myself…” Mirjam is both full of food and regret.

“I assure you I wasn’t trying to! Besides, I don’t have ulterior motives, I have no other way to answer!” Lt. van Zullekom looks in mild shock at the unexpected intervention.

“Guess someone doesn’t want cake.” You look disappointed in the policewoman. “Don’t be mistaken, these two might be full now, but later they’ll be happy to eat the entire cake.”

“How can a gentleman like you be so diabolical…?” Lt. van Zullekom had you in high regard.

“Sorry, great food is only available to the goodest, bestest, and cutest of girls!” You nod to yourself. Both couch tomatoes stay true to their name now. “I might be diabolical, but you’re just suspicious!”

“I-I answered your questions! I deserve a taste!” van Zullekom is challenging your authority. “My life will be over after this, I deserve a last meal!”

“No! If you say stuff like that it only shows you how bad you’ve been! You don’t deserve it!” You remain firm.

“Answer him prrrroperrrrly, and you’re gonna be on the good side! You’ll get as much cake as you want!” Mirjam lures the policewoman to the right side of the couch.

“I’ll be happy to eat it if you don’t quack.” Grace is planning ahead.

“Girls, you need to be mindful about how much you eat.” Yareli won’t let these tomatoes get rounder.

“We neverrr eat this stuff…” Mirjam looks down.

“Yeah, it’s all oats…” Grace looks down too.

“Well, this cake will be all yours unless someone cooperates.” You wiggle van Zullekom’s arm.

…What were the questions?” van Zullekom is so evil she won’t regret taking cake from orphans.

“What’s your plan? What are you scheming for?” You didn’t expect to change her tune so suddenly, so you ask gently.

To delay the investigation for now.” The empty van Zullekom just wants to eat. “Can I have a bite?” The lieutenant gives you a ghoulish look…

What do you do?

“Sure. But you have to explain.” You can’t keep going on with this, you’ve felt bad for a while. With a knife in hand, you cut a piece for van Zullekom. “Okay?”

“Thank you, Mr. Noon, thank you…!” The Lieutenant is moved by your kindness as she nods with tears falling down off her face.

“Oh, thank god, at last…” Kobashi feels relieved. This torture was just too much for everyone involved.

“Wasn’t this your idea? Nobody forced you to do this. Why are you acting like this…?” Yareli doesn’t get why you two feel happy about feeding van Zullekom some Mighty Cake.

“Yareli, you don’t have to hide, you felt bad too.” Kobashi puts his hand on Yareli’s shoulder. Yareli turns to Kobashi, expressionless.

“Lieutenant, say aaaah!” You’ll feed the policewoman yourself because she doesn’t look… well.

Homp!” The absentminded Lieutenant happily takes a bite! “Sgt. Kobashi, what a hand you have, this is heavenly!”

“Aw, I want Phil to pamper me too…” Grace is full of jealousy.

“And I’d like to pamper him…” Mirjam imagines the opposite being enjoyable. Both sound good to you!

“Pamper us both!” Grace has a brilliant idea!

“H-Huh?!” Mirjam feels overwhelmed thinking about it.

“We’ll see.” You wiggle your eyebrows. “Anyway, here’s more Lieutenant!”

Homp!” van Zullekom grabs another bite. “You’re so gentle now, I don’t know what to think about you, civvy.” She keeps eating what you’re feeding her. “I need to be mindful; this will go straight into my hips…” And if it goes to the thighs, you don’t mind either. “W-Wait, I’m being so absentminded, I said something embarrassing! And even worse, I’m letting myself be treated like a child!” van Zullekom acts like normal, which is not something you say lightly.

“Child? It’s more like a nursing home.” Grace knocks the cop down a notch.

“G-Grace, be nicerrr…” Mirjam pretends she didn’t find it funny.

“H-How disrespectful of you! I’m still on the younger side!” van Zullekom didn’t like that! Yup, she’s back at her full capacity.

“As for your explanation, go ahead, why delay the investigation?” You get more serious now that van Zullekom is acting accordingly.

“Huh? Delaying the investigation?” Lt. van Zullekom looks in shock, like she has no idea what you’re talking about.

“You admitted to it.” Yareli is ready to press her boss about this issue.

“We all heard you say it.” Kobashi looks around to confirm it. The lieutenant doesn’t think this is possible. “Now tell us why. Because as things stand, I can’t trust you.”

“I…! I….!” Lt. van Zullekom is out of words. “…It’s pointless to deny it now, isn’t it?” van Zullekom looks away, hiding her shame from all of you. “My life is over. I arrived at a point with no return. Whatever the results of the Orphanage of the Blue’s investigation are, they spell my end. With those dishonorable pictures, nobody in the station will have my back. But that doesn’t mean my life has no value. I needed to delay the investigation as much as humanly possible. To keep you occupied from intervening, maybe learn a hidden truth or two in the process. I simply can’t allow Ophelia Bruun to be taken away just yet.”

“Why, damn it!?” Kobashi wants to hear the whole truth.

“It’s for good reasons. Reasons I’ll take to the grave.” van Zullekom has made peace with herself.

“Even at the cost of your life?” This isn’t what Kobashi wants. “Just tell me why! You’re making no sense!”

“My life was lost long ago, even before we met, Sergeant.” Lt. van Zullekom stands up without a care in the world, feeling realized. “I did what I could, now it must be too late for anyone to stop it. I’m tired of wearing my pajamas, I’ll be back in a minute.”

Lt. van Zullekom’s words might have fooled someone else, but she’s so anxious, her legs are trembling as she walks away. Yareli follows the lieutenant to her room…

“I don’t get it.” Grace is confused.

“Me neitherrrr.” Mirjam shakes her head.

“I’ve been here the whole time and I don’t get it either…” You scratch the back of your head.

“Vanessa, you’re lying. It’s not late!” Kobashi has his eyes set on something…. “It’s not too late to stop it!”

“W-Whatever do you mean?” van Zullekom doesn’t get why Kobashi came to that conclusion but looks uneasy regardless.

“You wouldn’t look nervous if it wasn’t the case!” Kobashi is bluffing like a mother fucker! Lieutenant looks in shock, like this logic train is so stupid she doesn’t even know how to answer it.

“Lieutenant, if we find the truth, will you share your side with us?” Yareli has an idea of her own.

“P-Perhaps…? It’s impossible anyway.” van Zullekom doesn’t understand what anyone here is scheming. To be fair, you don’t know either!

“Yareli. I’m taking your bike.” Kobashi runs away…!

“Where are you going?” You ask to no avail, Kobashi has decided to do something stupid without consulting anyone.

“Hey, Kobashi, where are you going?!” You ask once again; you won’t be ignored like you’re Amelia or something!

“I need to check something at the station. While I was cooking, Yareli handed me the summary you kids made. And if what Vanessa says is true, I figured out something: she has no clue what the code messages say, which means she doesn’t have all the information for what she and her collaborator are trying to do. I need to check them out! There’s still time to figure it out before them and do something about it!” Kobashi takes a moment to explain before leaving for good. The door being slammed left the building silent for a couple of seconds.

“Collaborator…?” You know that is a possibility, unless whatever Zullekom is scheming has nothing to do with her actually doing something.

“I-I’ve never seen Officer Kobashi act like that…” Mirjam is at unease.

“He’s the best! He’s doing this for Wilma, right?” Grace has a cheerful outlook about this.

“Indeed, he is.” Yareli grabs van Zullekom’s arm to not allow her to leave the room yet. “We mustn’t rest on our laurels. Lieutenant, we want the truth, and we’ll find it.”

“I’m doing what I believe is right.” An oddly serious Lt. van Zullekom says.

“…Let’s get you properly dressed.” Yareli drags the policewoman like a rag, not caring about a word she says.

“G-Grace, you shouldn’t eat now…” Mirjam nudges her sister as you three are left alone.

“You’re already munching muffins, Mirjam.” Grace glares back as she shamelessly takes a little bit of the massive cake.

“Okay, girls! I’ll need your help now! Let’s see what we can find around here!” You ask them for help! Both girls nod as they struggle to stand up, they’re still full of sweets just like Nina.

You trust Kobashi to find something in time. You’ll do the same on your end, you need to work together to understand what’s going on.

Sadly this is all we have for this week’s thread. Thank you for playing and see you next time!
