Epilogue of Under the Moon

It has been four weeks since Azul began his mission to free the people in the Lands in between from the demigods’ grasp.

Azul has killed several Leyndell knights in pursuit of disabling the Grand Lift of Dectus.

Infiltrated Raya Lucaria and engulfed the entire academy with pillars of Black Flame, suffocating countless people and undermined the power of Caria and Rennala.

Discovered and defeated a blood cult that believed in a prophecy that an Omen born from Marika will lead them, and form a new order that follows another god.

Survived a night when a floating yellow flame was summoned, spreading madness onto anyone who was in it’s sight.

Defeated two Crucible Knights during the battle of West Liurnia.

With the help of fellow Godskins Mera and Andal, killed the first Elden Lord, Godfrey.

Despite all his accomplishments, few Godskins remain afterwards, leading to take refuge in the Weeping Peninsula, south of newly settled Limgrave.

In such a region, they were able to produce yellow liquid that could be used as anesthetic and slowly feed the Lands in Between with byproducts of the Bloodroses.

Empty stone buildings are transformed into laboratories and farms, creating both anesthetic and flesh melting concoctions.

While the Godskins are quietly concocting their new products, the rest of the lands are still in turmoil. News of Godfrey’s death quickly spread all across the lands, prompting a new lord to be chosen - Godwyn, son of Marika and Godfrey. While such is normally a role for Marika’s consort, he is temporarily made one due to emergency.

Raya Lucaria and Caria began drifting further apart, owing to a shortage and mismanagement of supplies, hostilities between both sides, and thievery.

Eventually, Liurnia was divided into the Caria supporting West Liurnia and Academy supporting East Liurnia.

The young Elden lord mostly focuses on taming Limgrave and Caelid, ordering Radagon and his forces to maintain order in the newly settled regions.

The persistent efforts of pumping ‘Blood grease’ into Limgrave and Caelid made the flesh melting sap a valuable commodity among civilians, military forces and criminals alike.

Soon, the wild frontiers of Limgrave was tamed and dangerous animals slaughtered.

After such, Radagon and his troops were pulled back into Liurnia. According to the Golden Order, they want to stitch together the gap between the two political powers.

In reality, it was because of an unexpected result from releasing yellow liquid into the public.

While a cheap, abundant source of anesthetics was welcomed by everyone, it was quickly discovered that ingesting the ‘grapes’ that leaked the yellow liquid also results in a longer lasting dream like state. Thus, a lucrative recreational drug business was born.

While these grape like fruits became one of Liurnia’s most valuable products, it also divided the region even further, with several factions emerging to control plantations.

Without Godfrey’s guidance, the young Godwyn struggles to keep peace in Liurnia for many years to come.

The Godskins technically accomplished their goal - freeing the people from the demigods’ control, but at the cost of dividing the world into countless chunks.

Even after several years, alliances between nations remain fragile and the regions were never tamed. A time of peace never touched the lives of the people in the Lands in Between ever again.

As the demigods and their children drift further away from the people, more began to lose hope and abandon the Golden Order.

The leaves began to fall, quicker than expected.

As the years passes, despair become more prominent. A contender for Elden lord eventually rose, to melt everything away, wielding yellow flame of an unknown god.

Once known as Vyke the Dragonspear, Vyke was a soldier that defected from Leyndell after unearthing a secret about his maiden’s purpose.

Liurnia was the first to fall, obliterated by the madness inducing yellow flame.

After Rennala’s death, the Elden Ring was shattered. A war between the demigods’ children broke out, with each of her children taking root in different regions.

With the dwindling popularity of Godwyn,
Rennala’s children focused on acquiring two Great Runes in order to seize Leyndell as a strategic location, as it was sealed by Godwyn’s power, who saw war as an inevitability.

Adjudicator Rykard and Warrior Radahn’s armies fought each other, turning Limgrave and Caelid into a battlefield.

Lunar Princess Ranni and her forces fade away from Liurnia, secluding herself somewhere deep underground.

Malenia and Miquella have left Liurnia, to construct their Haligtree in the snowy mountaintops, north of Leyndell.

(Cont.)
>>
>>5385168
Deep underneath the jails of Leyndell lies a twin of death. Their soul tainted by Destined Death, but their bodies still linger, slowly spreading death across the capital.

Leyndell eventually became a wasteland, filled with deathroot and cursed beings.

Godwyn and Maliketh eventually left the capital, turning towards a land beyond time as his new city to rule over - Farum Azula.

As for the Godskins, the few that survived the brutal conflict between factions in Liurnia and the demigods’ war fled to Farum Azula, intent on bringing down the demigod who still stood and reclaming Destined Death from the shadowbound beast.

When a new contender makes their way through the Lands in Between, cutting down the demigods and possibly defeating Vyke, they will eventually have to burn the thorns that guard the Erdtree, bringing them to wielder of Destined Death.

There, Azul and his Godskins will test that contender for their worthiness.

For a crown must be warranted with strength.

Nice. So the Godskin Duo is Azul and Saph in your Canon?

That makes that mess of a Bossfight a bit more tolerable for me.

>>5385170
I have to say i did quite enjoy your writings especially for a Oneshot.

Where did you come up with the Puzzlesolver Combat System? I think it mirrors quite well the Combat of Elden Ring and DarkSouls. Read your enemies Movements and take the appropriate Action to counter and defeat them.

Lastly: Did you Archive the Thread?

So the more things change, the more they stay the same...

I came up with the “puzzle” bossfights by playing SIFU, a chinese martial arts game. I liked how there were multiple ways to counter the enemies’ attacks and incorporated it into my quest.

I couldn’t do one move and one response per post, since that would take multiple days and take too long.

I also played Sekiro before Elden Ring, and that’s where the offensive - defensive actions came in. You could technically deflect attacks in that game, but certain attacks could be punished or avoided instead of dealing with it head on

>>5385213
Somewhat, yeah.

Mohg and Morgott became the princes of death instead of Godwyn

The Godskins show up at Farum Azula to take down Godwyn and Maliketh (In game, I’m not really sure why they were there)

Ranni is underground, searching for the fingerslayer blade to kill the two fingers

Rykard and Radahn were in similar positions, being stuck in shitholes

Miquella and Malenia got a happier ish ending this time, though. Their siblings might be dead, but they will be together.

Here are my notes and guidelines for the Under the Moon quest.

NOTES ABOUT THE CHARACTERS AND PLOTLINES

Starting off, I wanted the names of each characters to be part of naming theme

For Carian Knight - Calabria

The name actually comes from Calabria region of Italy, which has a village called Sellia. Naming scheme was going to be regions and town names of Italy.
This was a coincidence as I just looked up Sellia on google.

For Black Key Confessor - Marina

The name comes from the italian word “Marina” (meaning: coast/shore). I wanted a sea related character name as it will be important for the plot.

For Former convict - Polter

The name comes from [Polter]geist
Naming scheme was going to be ghost related. I wanted these names to be unusual as former convicts would likely have fake names.

For Godskin - Azul

Naming scheme was gems/minerals.
I wanted the names to feel unusual because of the strangeness of the Godskins compared to the rest of the world.

For the other Godskins, the names I considered were..

[Saph]hire
T[anza]nite
E[mera]ld
[Andal]usite
[Ame]thyst
Aqu[amar]ine
[Mal]achite

Azul’s name was actually a mistake, as I was writing something about master azur
(a character from Elden Ring who was a mage) and misspelled it into Azul.
The name sounded unusual and gave me the idea of naming Godskins after minerals since master Azur’s appearance looked like crystals and minerals.

For the stories, I had a few storylines in mind

At the start, I only planned ahead for the first 1-2 weeks of each PC

For Calabria, the first week was going to be spent tracking down the thief who stole ceremonial gift weapons.

It was going to be a puzzle where I gave descriptions and multiple choices. Correct answers will give a +59 bonus ensuring the roll will always succeed

She will discover that Leonine misbegotten in Caelid (these red haired humanoids) were behind the theft. She can try to reason with them, threaten them, kill them or try to steal back their weapons.

Regardless of method, she’ll have an option:
Make her way back to Liurnia with the ceremonial gifts
OR
Investigate further about their employers

The ceremonial weapons are
intelligence-faith scaling weapons that deals a lot of damage but Calabria can’t use them immediately as she doesn’t have enough faith.

If she decides to make her way back, several fights and ambushes will await her.

If she decides to investigate further, she’ll stumble across cave systems which lead to an early version of Mohgwyn palace - base of operations for the prophets who foresaw Lord of Blood’s ascension.

What happens after the first two weeks will be written based on what the players decides to do.
>>
>>5385226
For Marina, the first week will be about assassinating war criminals on Radagon’s side.

There will be a selection of targets that must be assassinated, but it can play out like Dishonored (Marina can find alternative paths to avoid killing, have someone else do the killing or do things to make the deaths look like an accident)

I got the name of a spy unit “Black Keys” from a crossbow in Elden Ring, Crepus’ Black Key crossbow.

It would eventually be revealed that the Black Keys are predecessors of Black Knives, as they would be tasked with assisting Maliketh in taking down Godskins and be given weapons enchanted with Destined Death.

Depending on player actions, they might discover a hidden cave system in Limgrave which leads to Nokron and Nokstella, cities that was sunk into the earth by the eldritch beings (Astels)

For Polter, the first week will be hunting large lobsters and oysters in Liurnia.
He’ll have the option to choose which region to set up his restaurant which will have different customers and demands.

The next few weeks will be him managing his restaurant as the situations between supporters of the marriage and critics worsen.

I usually tend to have more extensive outlines during the first 1-2 weeks and then just improvise during the later weeks depending on what the players do.

finally, Azul.

The first week I had a few plans on, and I wanted to do a bossfight on 2nd week. The bossfight will have several choices and descriptions - correct answers will get bonuses to roll

Because of the players avoiding the bossfight with the red wolf, the closest thing to that was a duo of Carian cavalrymen.

I actually didn’t think of the suicide bomber Carian knights but it just popped up after I started writing how the two other knights were doing while Azul pummeled the downed knights with the glaive.

After that, I had a few ideas about what Azul could discover

If he went to Leyndell, the story would focus on the atrocities committed by the Golden Order and reveal who summoned the yellow flames - merchants that were massacred and thrown into the subterranean shunning grounds.
In that plotline, Azul could choose to become the Lord of Frenzy Flame and burn everything to the ground as retaliation against the Golden Order.

If he went to Liurnia early, the story would focus on a strange cave system that led to Nokron and Nokstella. It would play out similar to the bloodrose cave in Caelid, and Azul and the Godskins will have to confront the eldritch being, Astel.
For the ending, Azul could hide away, steal, or destroy the fingerslaying blade, affecting Ranni’s chance of defeating the two fingers and the Golden Order in the future.

If he went to Mt. Gelmir, the story would focus on the blasphemous serpent that rykard fed himself to, and it would be a lengthy puzzle boss like Godfrey. Azul could either feed himself to the serpent or kill it.
>>
>>5385227
Also, the whole thing about selling drugs reminded me of Breaking Bad, and I was originally going to put a link to the song “Baby Blue - Badfinger” at the final post of the first thread, but I forgot.

NOTES ABOUT THE SETTING

I had a few plans on what time period I should set this one shot in.

-A few days before the Night of the Black Knives, right before the shattering war

-During the shattering war

-Radagon and Rennala’s marriage

I ended up choosing the last because the first two would already have a lot of war and conflicts in them, making certain storylines too similar.
>>
>>5385227
how appropiate, i did think of Azul feeding himself to the godeating serpent, i would have been fitting
>>5385207
Was beating Maliketh even possible
>>
>>5385246
Possible, as he left his sword in Leyndell.
Marika's forces were numen armed with Destined Death enchanted weapons, basically Black Knives.

If you could take out the black knives or steal their weapons, Maliketh could be killed.

Maliketh and the Black knives wield ballistas, outranging the Godskins.
>>
>>5385273

oh right, forgot to write about that.

Azul will face Maliketh and Marika's forces if he decided to go with the Godskins that want to ambush them in Limgrave
It would probably play out similar to Godfrey, a long, drawn out battle and eventually ending in a future where things have changed

If Maliketh died, I imagine the Godskins wouldve become a lot more prominent since they would acquire projectiles loaded with the Rune of Death
