"Quickly, sister!" shouted Ludolph. "The staves!"

Lovisa raised the Staff of Water, and cried, "Perhaps I can drown her beneath the water!"

The water merely roiled, and Hendrika turned from the woodsman to the others. "The great staves of power!" roared the queen. "A child like you has no business with them!"

"Enough!" shouted Ludolph, and pressed the great staves of power into the arms of his sister. Ludolph drew his swords, and charged Hendrika, and shouted, "I am no porter!"

Ludolph raised his remaining sword. Wilhelm raised the black longsword. Lovisa again raised the Staff of Water.

All three stepped back as Hendrika rose up before them.

Egan shows up after Hendrika's enchantment fades and sacrifices himself so Wilhelm can stab her glowing weak point for massive damage.

"You will trouble these lands no more, Hendrika!"

Egan, the Dragon Lord, had awoken from the stupor placed upon him by Hendrika. He stood at the front of what remained of his army, and in his hand was the sword that he had not drawn in fifteen years.

"For fifteen years I have been able to do nothing but stare at the shields of dead men while their ghosts tormented me," said Egan. "I was blind to your evil, but now it is clear to all. We will fight you to the last!"

Suddenly, the jaws went slack. The body of Egan fell to the ground.

Hendrika frowned. She could not move.

Lovisa stood on one side of Hendrika, and Beraht on the other. Lovisa held in her hands the Staff of Fire and the Staff of Darkness, and Beraht held in his hands the Staff of Water and the Staff of Light.

"You cannot hold me like this for long," said Hendrika. Even as Hendrika spoke, Beraht and Lovisa began to falter from the strain.

After he had done these things, Wilhelm was summoned before the four rulers of the kingdom, and stood before the true King Leonard, and Lord Petrit of the House of the Falcon, and the Lady Louve of the House of the Wolf, and the Lady Fiamette of the House of the Dragon, who had been stolen away from the cradle of Lord Egan and his first wife in order to protect the newborn babe from Queen Hendrika.

King Leonard called Wilhelm before the throne.

"Wilhelm of Helmbarte," said the King, "You have done these lands a great favor. Come, step forth and kneel before me."

If the QM even allows it, that is.
While it's interesting to think about how a harem situation would work, I don't think it's feasible. You'd have to really stretch things story-wise to make it function properly, with all three girls having different interests, their families, and politics.

Let's get to the Easter eggs!

This quest is centered around Set 6023 Maiden's Cart, also known as Damsel's Coach. I recently acquired a sealed copy of this set, so Mirabel and Wilhelm are indeed as pure as they seem.

Unlike most games where I build all the backgrounds and vehicles myself, almost everything in this game has been an official Castle set.

Sets used:
>>5446967
6023 Maiden's Cart

>>5447870
Adolph's wagon is 6038 Wolfpack Renegades

>>5448081
The prison-carriage used to transport maidens is 6055 Prisoner Convoy (palette swap)

>>5448296
The keep of the House of the Wolf is 6075 Wolfpack Tower

>>5453337
The entrance to Redgate is 6059 Knight's Stronghold (palette swap, and I added a second jail cell on the back side of the wall just in case Wilhelm and a friend both got arrested or something)

>>5453340
Blacksmith shop is 6040 Blacksmith Shop

Inn is 6067 Guarded Inn although technically it's the 10000 Legends re-release but I'm pretty sure that was just unsold sets that they re-packaged

>>5454353
Petrit's armor shop is 6041 Armor Shop (I swapped out the shields with heraldry for the peasant shield)

>>5454357
Back gate and adjacent watchtower is the castle under siege in 6062 Battering Ram

>>5454359
The wagon of the traveling-folk is one of the only non-official builds in this game. I tried to only use pieces that were available prior to 1993 but in this case I used the smaller cartwheels because the regular ones didn't look quite right.

>>5459060
The cathedral in the pathless forest is an alt-build from the back of the box for 6066 Camouflaged Outpost. I was going to have Beraht, Jaegar, and Fiamette living in the main build, but then I noticed the alt-build on the back of the instructions and immediately fell in love with it. The interior has been customized since the only reference photo is the exterior shot. More on that later.

The fortress of the Dragon Lord is 6086 Black Knight's Castle. This set has a removable section of the floor that covers a pit in the large raised baseplate. I built a second floor section with the Dragon Lord's throne room so I could swap out the floors and use the same background for multiple "areas" of the fortress.

>>5498632
>we haven't seen him leading this army, or even looking at his beloved shields.
I thought about putting Egan on his throne in this shot >>5488356
but decided against it because it was supposedly late at night and I figure he would have been led to bed by that time

You can catch a glimpse of him here >>5497036

Forgot to mention that Jaegar and Fiamette's cart is 1680 Crusader's Cart (palette swap)

OK, time to take a tour around Redgate! Starting out of the main gate, you can see what I mean about a second prison cell. These have bars on the outer wall so the prisoners can watch people approaching the city and also act as meat shields if they start shooting arrows.

Next to the main gate is the first small wall corner I made to give the city wall a rounder shape, and next to that is the pay-2-hay stable/ corral which is one of the only locations in town that's not an official set. There are some flowers behind the barrel for a horse to munch on.

Next to the stable is a copy of the tower from 6062 without the door section, and next to that is the blacksmith shop! I added ladders to the watchtowers so the guards can climb up the ladder, flip it up, and climb up to the top without having to resort to invisible stairs.

Next to the blacksmith shop is another small angled section and the inn, and behind the inn is a small alley where torches are placed at night (this was never actually seen in-game but the torches were there). The innkeeper was the informant that the soldier mentioned here >>5465686
If Wilhelm and Mirabel had stayed at the inn or otherwise spent more time in Redgate, they may have learned more about this.

Behind the inn is the back gate that leads out to the grazing area, and next to the back gate is Petrit's armor shop. FUN FACT: If you look closely at >>5454569 you can see that the helmet with the blue plume has some damage to the face grille, and this is the same helmet Petrit wears when he first confronts Wilhelm, because Petrit was selling his own helmet and armor. The helmet with the red plume is the same one Emery wears when they ride together to the fortress of the Dragon Lord.

Next to the Armor Shop is a small table, a target, and a community bow and arrow, and next to that is the market stall, which itself is connected to the other side of the front gate.

Long before Lego put out their Creator Expert buildings, they were making these Castle sets modular by ensuring all the walls were uniform height and all had a 1x2 Technic brick on each end so they could all be strung together to make one big fort.
