It has been 100 years since ancient beings, known as the Old Ones, walked the Earth with their two strong feet. Now they are gone and we animals now rule the remains that they left behind. With our new knowledge of sword and sorcery, we were able to survive in peace for a while, but then came the three factions.
The Apes: Strong giants, claiming to be as just as the old ones and believe they should be the ones to rule over the new world.
The Pigs: An intellectual but slothful group who wish to rule the world with an iron hoof and remain kings while the others remained as dumb animals.
Then there the Lizards: A fast and large group that want to set the world a blaze. Trying to forget the harsh past that the old ones left.
All three sides wishing to go war and destroy one another to bring in what they believe to be true peace.
But, unbeknownst to everyone, there was another group. One that was trying their best to find a way to heal everyone. To bring back order.
You found it.... and now you are taking care of it.

A D&D Homebrew Adventure.

Will our heroes succeed? Who knows?

"Hey we could an opening for a metal carriage, I believe the Old One called it a fork lift, but it keeps mentioning something about a card. We tried using the other white card we had, but it kept on yelling "Access Denied". So I'm not sure what it wrong. Think you two can figure it out?"

lol, sorry for badgering you near the end of last thread to start the new thread on Monday only to not post anything. Something came up and I was busy. I have to sleep now, but I'll be here tomorrow - later today for you guys, I guess - at the regular time.

It's OK. The thread needed to be made.

You guys still there?

I'm here, was just doing stuff in the morning. I'll get around to writing my post now. Sorry again for not writing last night, I've kinda ended up delaying everyone in the thread because the previous one ended with me catching the ball in having to respond to the cats.

A brief smile worked its way up Mog's face as the fat bobtail arrived and delivered the good news. "Good, we'll have you guide us there in a minute. Just stay here for now, we have some questions for our newest recruit." He replied, roughly wrapping his arm around the fox's shoulder and giving him a good shake for emphasis.

He'd listened to Kinny ask his questions to their rescued doofus, now he had a few of his own.

"You said the emperor 'lost something this week' before he assigned you to this current task. Since you must've travelled here on your own four legs and not by carriage, that must mean he is a week or less away with his entire army. I need to know where specifically he is, in what town, how many days travel, and what direction. What is his general intent beyond what he assigned you to do?" Mog inquired, pacing back and forth slowly.

The emperor being nearby made him anxious, they couldn't stay here long or in any place nearby when the ape army was near. If they didn't burn down any opposition they found outright like the lizards then they'd certainly conscript Mog and his friends, he was not looking forward to that.

Aside from that, the fox had already answer most of his other questions when he answered Kinny. Mog had a pretty good idea of who these 'ultimate soldiers' were, he simply could not let the Old Ones fall into the mad ape's hands. He considered even going back to Xana to warn Elder Swift. If the humans were recruited into army of the tyrant then no hope of freedom for the free folk of the land remained. Still, that was a matter to discuss with Kinny later.

"Well, Jenkins, what are you good at? What are your talents, your skills, your hopes and dreams, what'dya want outta life? Clearly your brains and deftness are not your strong suit given that you took the top ape's word for truth and followed his orders only to fail to succeed in even a simple robbery, so what else are you good at, or are you gonna say this was just a fluke and that you are actually pretty smart and sneaky? I need'ta know, 'cause like you said, you own us a life debt, and I intend to cash that debt in and have you join our growing band of misfits, and if that's gonna happen then I need you to at least be partially invested in our group, gotta keep you happy and all that. So, for your labour, how much do you think you deserve to be payed? Don't say an even split of the profits, you aren't doing most of the work and we already have five...six, no, seven mouths to feed." The old soldier asked, prodding the fox. He let the fox out of his grasp and paced around to his front and turned to look him in the eye.

"What do you want outta life? Any ideological hang ups we need to know about, former enemies you wanna avoid or kill? C'mon, spill." Mog prodded further, may as well make this recruitment stick, they needed everyone they could get if they were going up against the Big Three factions.

The wolf sat down to hear his response, waiting.

>Roll is for recruitment and putting Jenkins in the mind set to accept that he is gonna be out in the field in a new occupation a lot longer than he may have wanted, helping us and earning money instead of going back to his home. Trying to get him to mentally invest in joining this group. Also trying to get over any issues he has with privacy and just get him to spill any backstory or skills he has.

Sorry for the probably unnecessarily long reply. We'll move onto the bunker right after this, don't worry.

"The emperor still resides in the monkey kingdom if you are worried if he is near or not. Though that kingdom is at most ten days away from here. As for what I am good at.... Running and being stealthy. Emperor Clayton said those were cowardly traits though. Tried his best getting me to be better than that. Still running to live another day is better than fighting a battle you are doomed to die in. Honestly I just want a quiet life. But with these territorial fights going around that ain't going to happen. Still it is nice to dream."
>The fox sat down with Mog for a bit.
"Not sure if it will help me live that life, but I do owe all of you for saving my life from... whatever the fuck that thing was. I'll join you guys for a bit. just promise me we aren't going to fight anything."

And here's an overdue one for Bobby as well.
>>
>>5535792
Huh...those are some beefy stats. He's like a dumber Kinny, or a weaker version of Mog if Mog were a thief.

"Oh, we'll be fighting, unfortunately. Gotta fight the powers that be first if you want them to leave you alone. But, you won't have to worry, you fit right in really, most of our gang can't really fight, only Kinny and I do that. We'll have you be our long range scout when we're out on the road or upon the field and forest, or as an extra helping hand with the lifting, sneaking, or flipping about that seemingly everyone but me does in this group. For now just stick with Kinny, later we'll probably have you working under Bobby when you aren't scouting out by yourself." Mog replied, laying out how it was gonna be. For a few minutes he just sat with Jenkins, letting the fox rest and get his mind sorted after he had just been strangled by the demonic robot.

After a while he got up and urged the fat bobtail cat to lead them to the new entrance they found.

"Once we get there, I think Kinny and I will go in right away, we've wasted enough time chatting in this city and I'm getting antsy waiting around while new arrivals could sneak into the city at any time and ambush us. I wanted to keep scouting for more entrances or exits, but time's a'wasting, so you'll keep scouting for those in our stead. Understand?" he ordered the bobtail, before letting him continue to lead them on to the forklift exit.
>>
>>5535799
>The fat bobtail nodded as he lead Mog over to the Forklift entrace.
>The elevator door was completely rusted.
>It used to be a nice green judging by some of the paint left, but now it was mostly covered by orange rust.
>Bobby and her other crewmate still tried seeing if the white card would in fact work or not.
>Only to hear the usual growling voice.
"Access Denied"
"Damn it all! Why isn't it working?!"
>Bobby growled as she kept trying to open the door, only to get the same answer.
>Bobby then notices you.
"Mog. Good to see you're here. See if your card can make this door open."
>There seems to be a card reader here.
>More than likely used to scan the card much like the barn in Xana and the phonebooth.
>But your white card is the same as the other you had, with exception for the owner of each card was.
>Would it even work?
Test out your card?
>>
>>5535802
Mog fished out his keycard and let the card reader scan it.

"Try yours if mine doesn't work Kinny."
>>
>>5535811
>The cats try out the only other white card they had.
>They try scanning it yet again.
>Hoping that this time they would finally get in.
>Only to hear yet again...
"Access Denied"
>Bobby threw one of the many relics they got from that one store to the ground, breaking it.
>Rather that than try and destroy an important key card.
"FUCKING HELL!"
>The bobtail leader swore.
>She soon gave both cards back to Mog.
"At least we know they work with the elevator that we can access. So I'm giving these back to you at least."
>Bobby said to Mog, still annoyed at the used to be green door.
"We'll try and see if there are any other exits or entances while you are down there. Just be careful and pray to the Great White Stag up high that these humans are a bit friendlier than the one we have."
>Bobby soon took her men over to the next area.
>Not before spitting on the supposedly broken card reader.
What is you next move Mog?

We should really wait on Kinny now. Hope he's okay.

Ey, there you are.

>>5535822
Mog stayed silent for a moment, an idea had come to his head, but it seemed too stupid to bother trying after the cat who was smarter and more used to this kind of stuff passed over trying. He then shrugged and tried anyways.

Taking both keycards, he let the card reader scan both of the cards at once. If that didn't work he'd try looking around for another card reader to use both cards in. And if that didn't work he'd try looking at the reader to see if he was putting it in wrong. Hopefully he figured it out before a headache came on from meddling with things made by folks smarter than he'd ever.

>Flat d20 Intelligence check to try and figure out what I'm doing wrong if putting both cards in doesn't work.
>>
>>5535834
>After placing both cards into the card reader, the cards were both scanned.
>It seemed like a smart idea.
>Probably would have worked.
>But then you hear something different.
"Error! Error! Error!"
>It seems like that was a no go as well.
>How unfortunate.
>But you seem to get something else from the machine.
"Please swipe Construction Card to open door."
>Suddenly it projects something on the floor with it's eye.
>Seems like a map of the whole town.
>Green Employee cards are located in this perimeter.
>Red dots then started to show underneath the city.
>Which meant only one thing.
>The green cards were underground.
>Makes sense you suppose.
>It's easy to assume most of the humans in this were underground.
>So that must be where all the cards must be.

Kinny jumped up in the air as the relic nearly missed him. "Fucking hell indeed! Watch when you throw these things woman!" The cat hissed out as he was landing, before approaching his canid companion who was making a titanic effort to decrypt the whitecard reader. "Do you need hel-" Kinny started, but the 3d display interrupted him.
>>5535843
"I guess we have no choice, but to go down some other way?" The cat looked around for opinions, specifically at the human, who he assumed would have the most experience with these things. "Do you know how we can get there without the forklift?" He asked the girl, a little confused by this situation. After all, he's never been in a city like this, let alone deal with underground passages and bunkers.
>>
I was here right before QM asked if we're here, then took a nosedive into rimworld modding hellscape (cause I can't code for shit), while absent-mindedly checking the Thread Watcher without actually reading it until a moment ago and realizing that, since I haven't posted here, the thread wasn't in TW.
>>
>>5535847
>The human thought about it for a bit.
"It could be possible that a forklift might have been left underground. Especially if we were in a hurry to get to safety. If anything, there are only two options. Go down the elevator we do have access to, get the green card, and hope there is a forklift down there or go down, get the card, and get a forklift later. Either way I am all in for going down there now."
Go down the elevator now?
>>
>>5535854
Sry if I mixed things up, was pretty sure there was only one lift, and also mixed up "lift" with "forklift" because muh ESL.
Kinny assumed the "yes, what are we waiting for" position, one that was completely exclusive to cats. The human girl immediately knew from the empty eyes and the way his tail lied on the ground like an unconscious squirrel, that the cat was ready to go. He didn't know where or when to go, but he was all sorts of ready.

Mog sighed. Of course this wouldn't work out as easy as he hoped. Still, he took a moment to try and memorize the layout, trying to ignore Kinny fussing over Bobby literally breaking her payday.

"Well, guess we can use this as our exit on the way out if all goes well. If it doesn't go well...then I guess that is what we are having the the others search for an alternative exit for," he said, before waving Jenkins over, "Hey, Jenkins! Run over to Bobby real quick and tell her about the map and the greencards. We're going in via the phone booth, gonna try put a hole in the top of the elevator, put a rope through it, jam and trap doors that cover the hole in the middle of the road, that way we have at least one for sure exit. And tell her to keep looking for exits like we discussed, once you tell her that, come over to the phone booth outside on the street that the Ricks is on, we need you to stay up top to make sure the door stays jammed so we have a way back up through the phone booth elevator." He pushed the fox forwards to emphasize him to get moving. After watched him vanish around a corner he urged the group towards the phone booth.

>Flat d20 Intelligence check to memorize the layout from the projected map.

>Something called a l0b84?
>Human runes were strange.
>But judging by the picture it seems it will be the first room they enter.
>Still they were all hoping to find a forklift in there as well.
>Soon they all looked over to the phone booth.
>The ai soon growled again.
"Going down?"
>The human seemed nervous yet excited at the same time.
"This is it guys."
>She then went up to the number pad and pressed the number to go down.
>Soon the phone booth began to transform.
>The boot walls became wider and began boxing our trio in.
>A nice room began forming over their heads.
>They now seemed trapped within a metal box...
>The phone and keypad still available for the to use.

>Suddenly you hear a voice.
>Sounds much clearer and more feminine.
"You are now entering the bunker. Made to keep everyone safe from the impending doom of the draconians. Made by our glorious defenders of the public, the Xenarus Company. Founded by our very own Tyler Xenarus, but led to even greater heights by his daughter Ashton Xenarus. Here in the bunker we will garuntee your safety. We will be arriving there shortly. >The room then started going down.
>Gently bringing the three of you to the bunker.

Kinny made sure his mouse was secure when the voice mentioned infants and started enjoying the soothing elevator music, but his inner peace wouldn't last long as the girl started getting nervous and asking about her appearance. The cat looked at her, struggling to decide what the human beauty standards could even be, but soon noticed there was one thing worth pointing out. "You look pale." Kinny stated matter-of-factly. It was true, the human spent so long in the freezer that her skin was almost white... and the nervousness didn't help. The cat continued looking at the girl for a while, but after deciding there was nothing remarkable about her appearance, he returned to his meditation.

When food was mentioned, Kunny once again looked at the human. He was aware of pizzas' existence, but his only contact with them was visiting ruined pizzerias, some of them were repurposed as taverns, but those served simple animal meals, not fancy Old Ones' culinary achievements.
>>5535863
"We could use something to eat, yes. Pizza is acceptable." The cat responded in his and Mog's place. *grrowl* The cat's stomach agreed. "Just make sure it doesn't have any exotic fruits in it. For what felt like the fifteenth time today Mog signed. "Coulda waited a minute for us to bash the ceiling in and set up the rope before you pressed the button, but I guess we ain't thinking today" he mumbled darkly to himself.

Good cheer returned to him when some catchy music started playing. He couldn't help but wag his tail, as if greeting the invisible musician.

"Your mom's gonna nag you for grandkids...at least I think that is what is supposed to happen, wouldn't know myself, my folks never got the chance with me before war came to us." the old wolf mused.

He turned to give her an odd look when she started saying crazy stuff about going into the sun to get less pale. How would that help?

"What's pizza? Doesn't have pomegranate on it, does it?" he asked flatly when she started talking about buying them treats like they were pet ants.

"After her! Don't lose sight of her, keep making noise if we lose sight of one another so we knew where the other is! I'm gonna clear the room while you keep track of her, we have to know it is safe!" Mog barked out orders, taking charge. Maybe Kinny could ride her again, he seemed to enjoy that.

With an unsteady gait he began shambling forward and looked around the room, making sure to note all the doorways, and looking for anyone who had even the remotest possibility of being alive. He was gonna peer into every room and around every corner he came across to make sure all the adjoining rooms and hallways were secure.

"It put you ouf of your trance, didn't it?"
Kinny responded to the outburst while he kneaded the girls' shoulder. He didn't want to stay on that cursed floor for any longer than absolutely necessary and clawing the human was the price he was more than willing to pay.
"Who are we looking for? Just anybody?" The cat asked. "In this pile of skeletons??" He thought to himself, somewhat confused. Whatever the hell happened in here, appeared to have happened a long time ago. But even though Kinny was filled with doubt, he didn't want to lose his personal vantage poin and started looking around the rooms that they passed through, searching for any human that wasn't reduced to a pile of boned, all the while kneading the girl's arm to relieve some anxiety.

"If outside is where all the good kids go, then I'm sure as fuck going to be staying in detention." Kinny commented on the lack of death inside the room and purred when he got patted on the head. "I don't like that we've separated from Mog, we need to go back and take him with us." The cat said when silence and the lack of movement suggested the human was awaiting his guidance. He regained some of his cognitive functions by now and figured, that if anyone stayed alive, then whatever attacked the humans could still be lurking around. Therefore, it wasn't safe for them to search without the armed wolf's backup.

Not wanting to disturb the girl any more than she already was, Kinny remained silent for the rest of their way back. He did decide to try his luck at the steering shoulder again, however. Not as much as to affect the human's choice of route - there was only one, and he sure as hell didn't remember it - but rather try to see how his movement on her shoulder would affect her movement. This time he did so covertly, merely bobbing on the sides as he was scanning the surroundings.

Changing what I was gonna do since I didn't manage to get a post out last night and you've moved back towards me anyways. Short posts for a bit, kinda tired.

The easy discovery of what they came for lifted Mog's spirits and banished his earlier queasiness. They could leave right now and reenter from the forklift exit if they caught a case of bad nerves or even if they felt like abandoning the old one should some horrible monster show up. Still, a deal was a deal. He doubted they'd find her brother now, but Mog liked to think that he honoured his word when the other party acted in good faith.

Looking around somewhat uneasily, it wasn't clear whether these humans had been afflicted with some form of madness or moral decay and killed each other in a frenzy or overindulgence in spirits, or if they had actually died fighting dragons. What else could defeat the Old Ones in battle? Only themselves and the Draconians, no others.

Time to return to the others. He quashed the urge to shout out his findings, never know what noise might attract in this place.

Making his way back to the hall he saw the others go down he stopped to pick the wooden clock on the table. Seemed useful. He wasn't familiar with the intricacies involved, but he knew of animals who understood that these artifacts told the time of day and that they knew how to fix these things.

As he was making space in his pack for the clock he heard the footsteps and tell-tale sounds of the human and his friend respectively. Reassured that they weren't far and would be reunited in a few seconds he instead moved over to the strange metal boxes with glass windows in front. Were these things essentially mini-shops, showing their wares like the refurbished old one buildings-turned-stores that so many animals used? Placing his paw against the window, he stood up on his hind legs and pressed his face close against the glass. Inside he made out the ancient runes of the human language - PEPSI - but it was incomprehensible.

How was one to get inside? He supposed he could just break the glass...but the noise.

Thanks, I'll try. And no worries. Also, I think there can't be spaces between your first and last words and the bracketed spoilers, otherwise it ruins it.

Mog turned to the human in horror. "No more robots, please." he muttered.

No, these items should still be good. After all, they didn't really know when the humans died, it probably wasn't exactly a hundred years ago, at least not for these ones. Plus, the metal hell creatures probably changed the stock with fresh stuff, they seemed to run the stores for humans. Instead he sprinted over to one of the tables and sliced up some paper rapidly with his sword, then ran back to the machine to try stuffing it in the slots.

Absently he talked over to the human and his friend, trying to interpret the ancient runes and figure out how the machine worked in the meanwhile. "So what'd you guys find over there? Oh, and while your at it, you got a name, human? Kinda weird to keep calling you 'human' or 'the old one' in my head or in chats with Kinny."

Damn it, this thing must be broken. Pausing to look at the runes again, then at the buttons, then at the runes, then at the buttons again, he slowly came to the idea of trying to push the buttons with the same symbols as those underneath the drink he wanted: ORANGE CRUSH. In the background he half paid attention to the human's and Kinny's response, all the while slowly feeding in cut up paper into the slot.

Out of the blue he suddenly had a realization. "THE ROBOT! If there's a robot down here, it can tell us what happened to your people!" he started shouting suddenly as the idea popped into his head.

The incessant beeping of the machine broke his trance of enthusiasm and he immediately turned back to the machine to pound on it angrily. Maybe he didn't feed it enough paper. Was there a slot to put silver in? Surely every civilized creature realized the value of coin? Fishing out a few coins, he jammed them into the small slot on the machine's right.

>Flat Intelligence check to parse how this thing works.
>If no beuno then I just do as my descriptions say and mash more paper and 10 silver coins into the slot

Also, yes, Mog is occasionally easily distracted by beeping vending machines and food
>>
>>5543826
Halfway through his ramblings about 'stupid mini-shops' and shouting about robots, Mog paused to give Kinny a belated answer. "Oh this? It's paper. Also there was this soft, pink chew toy that was shaped like half-a-bone that I tore up. It served its intended purpose, let me assure you."

>>5543829

"Mog? Why are you stuffing documents in that metal box? Are you alright?" Kinny inquired, now concerned about the collective mental health of his followers. "Is there a poison gas leak... or...?" The cat was now standing up with his front paws firmly planted on the girl's head while he stared at the ceiling for signs of any funny vapors coming in.

>Then again after hearing Mog's idea...
"You're right! There has to be a machine that knows what happened! We just need to find one!"
>She soon sees the wolf trying to use the "money" to buy something.
>Sure it's a bright idea but honestly the machine should be able to tell the difference between the real money and Mog's Money.
>Suddenly the machine accepted the money.
>As Mog was pressing the buttons on the keypad he inadvertently releases a few of the items from their wiry prison.
>A few bags of chips and a soda can soon fell down to the area where you can retrieve it.
>The human then gets the items for Mog.
>Opening up the many bags of chips, pork rinds, and the can of soda.
>The human then hands them over to the wolf.

"Y'know, maybe there is, I guess if scavengers don't pick the bones clean and there is no dirt to eat the body then I think bodies turn into vapour and join the sky, much like how the soul turned wispy and dispersed as it turns heavens-ward up towards the Moon. Anyways! I am perfectly fine and lucid, in fact, I think I almost have it!" Mog replied in between button mashing and paper shmushing.

Huh. Maybe he should've saved those 'documents' for the human to read, could be important. He paused to glance at them. Oh, hey, they were actual documents and not weird white-coloured toilet-leaves with scribbles on them, oops.

"Thanks"

He pocketed the temporarily, he'd share them in a second.

"Well, nice to meet you Maggie! No need to puff yourself up though, I can tell your plenty big just from looking up at'chu." he replied, happy that belated introductions were finally being made.

As he did so, he brushed against the side of her leg and then wandered a full circuit around her before leaping onto her, knocking her over. Now that he was on top of her he mimicked Kinny by kneading his paws all over her, marking her with the scent glands in his paws. Just had to let the other piss-stain animals from other packs know that she was part of their pack, no one elses.

>Athletics check to knock her over. If failure then I kinda of just leap into her arms awkwardly and knead her from there.

>As she is knocked down a bit, she couldn't help but give out a confused glance.
"Is this like an initiation thing you're having me do to be a part of your group?"

"Your turn Kinny. Oh, and yes, basically what you just said, yes." Mog replied easily.

He leapt off her and brought out the chips and soda to be shared around amongst the group. "Cheers, here's to commemorate our formal introductions. Welcome to the pack, Maggie."

Awkwardly Mog bit into the soda can and lifted it up and tilted his head back can to partake in the beverage. Almost immediately he lowered it back down. It was good...but it was weird, there were bubbles in it or something.

"Is this alcoholic or something?" he wheezed.

He pushed the can over so that Kinny and the human could take their share.

Next he tried the pork rinds. It was good, if a bit familiar. Nice and crunchy though, strange how perfectly the humans managed to get the crisp and flavour in though. Still, it was nice to know that even a hundred years ago, humans understood the way of the world; the only good pig...was a fried pig.

In between munches he addressed where to go next. "Lets look for a robot, we may as well go to the kitchen or where ever else after all. It'll help us find out what happened like I said, and maybe it can even lead us to your brother."

Kinny studied the bodies as they entered the cafeteria. Everyone seemed dead or killed in many different ways, nothing out of not-ordinary, except for those cables. "There's no way it could be a dragon, maybe a baby one, but there's no way a full grown dragon could even fit in this room, let alone down the elevator. Most of these wounds don't even look like dragon claw wounds. Plus, there'd be way more burnt-to-ash corpses lying about or evidence of magical damage if it were a Draconian." the wolf replied.

Mog made a show of thinking, but in truth he'd already come to a conclusion based off just a few glances at some of the remains despite not having even seen everything Kinny had or having examined the whole facility. The humans likely killed each other or fell into despair. He'd have smelled the lingering scent of other animals otherwise, and frankly he doubted the idea that even if every animal in a 20 days journey from this place gathered to assault the Old Ones in this bunker that they could overcome them, he saw how strong this girl was and how she remarked on dragons being easy to kill, there was no way anyone but themselves had any part to do with this.

For now he kept that to himself, they still hadn't looked in every room yet.

The sly wolf made a note to loot the kitchen for the no doubt thousands of knives they had should it turn out no one was alive down here. Good quality steel was hard to come by and they could make a fortune selling off the stuff from this bunker. Heck, if Mog's dream of forming a warband and creating a place free of the factions even came close to coming to fruition then this would be a good place to arm the initial forces. Something for him to keep in mind for sure.

>Some of these corpses looking like they were locked in combat with each other.
>After a few rooms you all finally reach room 839.
>Maggie sighs.
"Please be alive Benji."

>A messed up room.

Mog did nothing but offer a comforting paw on her knee and wait for her. He knew well the pain of the loss of loved ones and comrades.

Damn, I wonder if we are gonna have to worry about psychic enemies. Maybe we can look around Benji's room for any personal electronics or diaries that would explain what happened here. Also, we should bury the bodies, or at least, Mog would want to, even if there are thousands of them. On the plus side, we can loot this place to our hearts content. Basically as long as this place is secure and we have a fence then we basically have infinite money.

"My condolences." Kinny muttered and tried getting off the girl's shoulder gracefully to leave her some space, but her abrupt reaction caused him to lose balance and plop on the ground like a hissing sack of shit. Not sure what to do, the cat just stood by the door in silence wondering what in the fuck happened here to make everyone try to kill each other like madmen. As far as he knew, being depressed about your living conditions didn't send people into a murderous mass psychosis, especially not at the same time. It almost looked like two warring factions by the way many of them fought one-on-one in the corridor, but then... why would this one guy hang himself instead of waiting until the dust has settled? On the other hand, if they were starving, they could've taken their chances and left the bunker. And if that wasn't an option, surely they could've found a more... peaceful way to end this. This shit made no sense to Kinny.
>>
>>5544001
Were any psychic creatures mentioned before and I've got dementia, or is this all obvious and I'm just intellectualy behind the curve?
>>
>>5544005
No psychics were mentioned before as far as I recall. I'm just speculating that some psychic foe caused them to go insane. DnD has various lovecraftian entities, but this is homebrew, so I dunno. I don't know what would cause them to apparently start fighting each other or go crazy otherwise. The Draconians aren't mentioned as being super psychics or anything, so unless being a "cadet" makes you insane or a unknown faction that hasn't been mentioned shows up then I have no clue what is going on.

>She cleans it for a bit.
>There all three of you see a person on the screen.
>He seems distraught.
>The sound is still low but you can hear a bit.
"I think we found our answers guys."

Mog prodded Maggie. "Can I borrow your necklace Maggie? It'll help me understand what is being said."

Regardless of whether she agreed to letting him use the necklace, he thought they should all listen.

"Hey, just this once Kinny, let the mouse have a look at what is being shown. He may understand more than us." he suggested.

He hoped the answers they found were enlightening, without the trouble such illuminations bring along with them.

Whoever wears the necklace can understand other languages. We already can't understand the guy on screen. Maggie can, even without the necklace. This way two of us can understand it without having to rely solely on her translation. We'll give it back to her later, she can continue to talk to us and tell you or the mouse what happened after, or I can. Basically I just want to get the whole picture without her potentially leaving stuff out. You can be the one to wear the necklace if that makes a difference.

>Maggie soon sets up the video to play from the beginning.

"My name is professor Benjamin Bigby. I am a school teacher. The year is two thousand and fifty five. The war is still going on. I have been living in the bunker since I was twelve. I am now sixty six years old. About ten months ago, one of the scientists from Xenarus laboratories came down to the bunker to have us test out a new drug. Liquid Nihm is what they called it. it was supposed to give us enhanced intelligence and strength. At least, that's what the good doctor told us it was supposed to do. He said he needed us to become new weapons to fight the threats of the surface. The dragons became worse with it so we must do the same he said. He told us to give one dose to every adult. It was manditory. Even I took the medicine. After we did what he said, he just left. What happened next was not what we were expecting. Harold was the first to fall victim to what I now call the Red Anger. He started shaking violently, his breathing was uneven, and his skin became hot and red. We told him to calm down but then he started attacking me and the class. I didn't know what triggered it but it was enough to make him tear the place apart. Soon every adult within the facility was acting like this. Then they started attacking each other like animals. As if they wanted to be the dominate male or female of the pack. They soon started smashing each other with their fists but then it went even further. They were using the knifes, guns, tools, and even the pipes to repair the fridge. I don't know how they could lift something that heavy, but they did. I know I will be succumbed to this madness soon myself. That's why I am gathering up my students, and getting them to the surface. I am not sure if they have a better chance of surviving up here than down here, but I am not going to have them die down here by monsters we created. Maggie... if you somehow survived and came over to see this.... I'm sorry to ask you this but I need you to find the kids. They'll be located in this area. This is Professor Bigby over and out."

>The trio and mouse stare only at the screen.
>Devastated by the information they just received.
>The human most of all.
>The mouse wanted to cheer her up telling her there are still the ones who are sleeping but felt it was a bad time.
>There was also a sense of confusion as well.
>If there were humans within the last 100 years, who was the scientists and how did none of the human children not get seen?
>The last ten seconds then showed a map.
>Seemed like the map to the whole world.
>Soon it would show where the children went to hide.
>Much farther up North.
>To the cooler lands.
>The human gazed upon the location.
"Canada? He sent them all there?"

No, the mouse had just the one. He gave it to Maggie. When she wears it she can understand and talk to us. That is how we can all communicate with her, it both allows her to be understandable to us AND allows us to talk to her. But she needs to get it back otherwise she'll only be able to understand the person with the necklace but not other animals. We don't need it except for this because we can understand most animals just fine.

>>5544073
This god damn mouse is hiding magic items up his asshole, I swear. I don't know how he does it.

Mog was indeed devastated, but not out of any particular sense of grief for the lost humans. His world view was coming apart. He was slowly piecing it all together. It was not 2099, it was 2155 or somewhere close to that. The humans all blindly followed the instructions of this Xenarus scientist and went extinct because of it, they didn't lose the war, they committed suicide collectively by blind faith in science.

Everything he thought he knew of the origins of what he guessed he would now call "awakened" animals and their origins and place in the world was getting harder to meld with this new information. It was pretty obvious from what little he knew of the collective history of the awakened that they didn't have much history before humanity went extinct, it was also pretty obvious that while 'liquid Nihm' did not work on humans, it certainly worked on everything else. It meshed with the Maggie's initial surprise that they could even talk. This liquid Nihm had given birth to the Awakened, to them.

There was more to take in. He had no idea what the "fridge" was in this context. One of those pods? An ice weapon for use against the dragons? Literally just a big fridge? As for this "Canada", well, it was a pretty obvious choice a safe haven. The Draconians, or dragons as he had now confirmed them to be, were weak against the cold. His own wolf kind had frequently migrated up north as the faction grew in power and drove others out.

"Well...I guess you were wrong Kinny, because I certainly need a nap after hearing all that and I am not waiting." Mog drearily muttered. With that statement uttered, he limped over to the bed of the deceased brother, as if his age had caught up with him, and unceremoniously flopped onto the bed and closed his eyes.

I really do have to sleep IRL too actually. Sorry for the lackluster post, mostly just working out the info without much flourishes. But seriously, Xenarus must be infiltrated by unironic lizard people or something, because apparently humanity collectively just suicide-scienced themselves outta existence real quick. At least maybe we can loot some guns for Maggie or any new players that chose to play a racoon. Also, I don't know what it is, but Americans seem to love making Canada the safe promised land that they all migrate to after the apocalypse, it's like a classic trope at this point.

Kinny could only stare in disbelief when his companion flopped onto a bed in the same room as their human's brother's hanging corpse. At this point the thought of funny vapors making his companions go crazy has started creeping back into his head. "This is insane." The cat whispered under his breath when the wolf started snoring.
>>5544073
Kinny then shifted his attention to the mouse. "You think this Liquid Nihm could stillbe in the air somehow? Mog's been acting very strange ever since we got inside this graveyard." The cat asked the rodent. "They both act strange, actually. Who the fuck would eat in a place filled with corpses?" He added, remembering the human couldn't understand them for now.
After receiving the nerd's opinion and allowing him back inside his backpack, Kinny slowly walked up to the girl and poked her with the translation collar. He waited until she put it on and started speaking. *ahem* "I know this is probably inappropriate, but since Mog decided to pass out in here, would you mind helping me get the... body outside? We could give your brother a proper burial, at least. If that's not a problem, of course. I mean, we can just carry Mog outside if that's too much, but um... yeah." The cat had trouble finding words, but decided to take his chances at getting a trip to the surface or at least a corpseless room.
>>
>>5544681
"I'm still awake Kinny, and I'm not going insane. I just need to process what I just heard, seriously though I also really do need a nap. You're right though, we ought to bury Benjamin and everyone else for that matter. We should clear out the rest of the bunker though, make sure we really are alone, I wasn't about to nod off when crazy ancient humans could be just around the corner. I'll explain what I got out of the message while we move." Mog growled, his half lidded gaze fixing on Kinny.

Despite his reluctant call to action he waited on Maggie. It was ultimately up to her and what she wanted to do with her family and people.

Mog is pretty murky as I mentioned before, his religion doesn't give many proscriptions aside from maintaining a set, described metaphysical order. >This area of the map was the Northern country of Canis Lupin.
>Wolf country.
>Home of the supposedly legendary group of heroes who were the first to slay a dragon.
>It would later be occupied by the apes, who turned it into a training grounds.
>Almost as if it were a secured boot camp to make sure that the lizards wouldn't invade as they were training the young pups or kits of this world to fight.

>Then again you all have heard there were monster sightings around the area.
>Maggie then stares at both of you after she was done with the map.
"Something wrong?"
>She said as she went up to the duo were now in the bed.
"Are you both tired?"
>She then heard the cat's theory of the medicine still being airborne.
>Which she didn't even think about herself.
"Maybe we shouldn't rest up just yet. Let's try and find an actual map after we find out about the food situation here. But I also agree with the idea of giving everyone a proper burial. They all deserve that at least."
>She then got up.
>She was now trying to gentle when it came to lowering Benji's body.
So what do you all do now?
>>
>>5545794
>She then heard the cat's theory of the medicine still being airborne.
Which she couldn't fucking understand because she had no collar on while it was meowed out to the mouse. Opinion discarded.

Kinny squinted when the girl announced they should bury everyone in this place. "E-Everyone? But there is like a hundred humans in here. It will take ages I- uh. You know what, it's not like I'm gonna be doing the hauling anyway." The cat eventually shrugged, climbed the girl's shoulder and snipped the rope with his dagger to help Maggie free her brother's corpse. "Are we going to the surface or is there like an underground burial ground somewhere in the bunker, you think?" Kinny asked, once the body was laid on the ground.
>>
>>5545819
Kinny is wearing a collar the mouse gave him. If they can understand her if she wore it and vice versa, I think it applies here too. She wouldn't understand the mouse but she can understand Kot and Doge since they are wearing the collars.[/spoilers]

"I guess you have a point."
>She agreed as she gently placed her brother's corpse to the ground.
"We can't exactly burry all of them. As for where to burry them. From what I heard the dead were to be cremated here but I don't want that to happen to him. I think we should bring him up to the surface."
"Splendid idea. I agree with you full heartedly."
>The woman bounced back a bit as she saw the mouse pop his head again.
"Good God, he's creepier when he is not speaking English!"
>She shouted, finally letting the other two know her feelings of their little prisoner.

>>5545879
"Well if you INSIST, you're welcome to play the graveyard keeper, but I'll be doing other - more productive - things meanwhile." The cat smirked at Mog who was being loaded with Maggie's dead brother. For once, he was glad to be the weakest of the group.

Mog grunted from the effort of lifting the hundred year old corpse. He couldn't help but cough and whimper in disgust after catching a close up whiff of the stench. Experienced soldier or not, even a body this rotten would gross anybody out. He eventually settled for dragging Benjamin's body by the lab coat with his teeth.

"Sure, put the fox to work. But, hey, listen, don't split up yet until we get the fox working on this, at least not too far, we still haven't cleared the facility, there could be crazies of the robot or old one variety still down here." Mog said while readjusting his bite-grip on the lab coat.

You might think 'great, we have 4 cats and a fox', but that's when you need to consider that the two strongest cats we have - and the fox - would die from a heart attack if they stepped inside this slaughterhouse." The cat took a deep breath and continued. "Under these circumstances, I am deeply sorry to say, it seems it is up to you, Mog... and that robot ova dere," Kinny pointed to the ceiling, "to carry these bodies to the 'creamation' or whatever it is you do with them down here." Well, I'm a tolerant wolf, I know you cats have to sleep sixteen hours a day or else you risk getting grumpy." he managed to say in between chuckles.

The beleaguered wolf started dragging the body towards the elevator again but paused once more. "I'm serious though, do what you want, but stick within shouting distance of somebody. We've come too far to get sloppy and eat a shiv now."

Then he disappeared around a corner, making his first round trip for burial.

>Gonna start burying bodies.

You can timeskip for me unless we get attacked, but Kinny wants to do stuff, so I say let him play his stuff out. I'll interrupt if I want to come in for whatever reason, since Mog is likely to take a break to rest or do other stuff in between burying the dead.

Kinny ignored the hauler's howling and ran out of the room as soon as the sound of footsteps and his own pride faded into nothingness. The rogue wasn't planning to waste time in here, he immediately started looking through the rooms and offices in search of valuables (duh), personal journals (even though he couldn't understand engrish, he could tell lots of handwriting in a peculiar notebook must've been a journal) and any traces of Liquid Nihm. "And keep digging! We're gonna need a few hundred old one sized graves, so don't stop 'til the sun goes down! I'll be back with the...eleventh, yeah, eleventh corpse in a couple minutes. I expect you three to have another hole dug by then, do 'em proper, six feet deep. Just move on to digging the next hole after I put the bodies in, don't bother covering them yet, I have to give them their sacred rites before that." he concluded his orders to the trio of underlings in their growing pack.

As always he rooted around in the corpses pockets for key cards and any papers with information or strange human tech. He left them their valuables though, jewelry, coins, pictures of what were presumably family, etc. Most of the tech and papers he'd return to them before sending them on their way to the Roots Below.

Looking around he knew he chose a good spot. Nature had overgrown most of the city and the adjacent forest had in most places ran right up to the concrete pavement, but this spot remained mostly clear of roots, save for a lonesome tree brave enough to try and encroach on the tenacious grasses and wildflowers that for whatever reason resisted the trees encroachment on this patch of soil. It was beautiful, the winds channelled through the metal high rises and into the field, causing the wildflowers to sway in the breeze, the oddly placed tree perfectly marking the graves. A good place to lie for your final rest.

Time to check up on the kits and get the next body.

...

Damn, this elevator music was a bop. He wondered if the elevator did the lupine blues.

Ah, back to the horror show. Now to find the cats, they really should've organized this better. This place was a big labyrinth, easy to get lost. He called out to them, his caution let down despite his warnings.

>Mog was able to pick it up from the corpse.
>It was a golden card.
"Must have been a banker. I don't think he'll need it now. Not to mention you guys did mention you guys don't do paper money anymore. But there could be some gold bars in there. Maybe you guys would want that? I don't exactly know. I don't think anyone here was that rich. Just put it in the pile of belongings. I'm sure Kinny and Bobby will look at it eventually."
>And Lo and behold who were to arrive but Kinny and Bobby.
"WE FOUND A VAULT! GOLD CAR NOW!"

Kinny didn't waste time explaining, instead he pounced on the human and took the card out of her hand and jumped off of her like gravity was an afterthought. Using the momentum of his jump, the cat zoomed back towards the vault, almost tripping over a skeleton. "Come on!" He hurried Bobby up as he passed by her.
Rolling acrobatics purely for stunt points, ignore this.
>>
>>5546044
Shit stunt, but only because the hoomon didn't want to let go of the card and the cat had to pull on it with all his might. Due to the unexpected delay, the jump-off came off as Kinny's desperate attempt to save himself from falling on his ass.

He then lowered his snout to the ground and began gently inching forward, prodding the ground as he did so, trying his best to assist Kinny. Hopefully the cat didn't rush ahead.

Mog sighed. He'd have thought Kinny's instincts would've been sharper given this was usually his wheelhouse. Didn't much matter though, he knew that Kinny's daggers or his sledgehammer could breach the vault door if thrown or empowered with a divine smite, respectively.

With sullen calmness he drew his broadsword. For a moment he considered using his sledgehammer instead, but he remembered that humans pierced the other robots just fine with knives.

"Bobby, Maggie, this'll be a fight to the death, so I'm sorry to say that you'll probably have to fight if we wanna live through this. At least one of you should stay next to me so that I can protect you with my shield. And no thrown lightning daggers except as a last resort Kinny! I don't wanna end up fried, and you might melt the loot. If your attacks aren't effective then try and restrain it if you can, let Kinny and I flank it." The old soldier laid out what to expect. No dramatic speeches, no poetics, just an aura of calm suffusing the group with confidence and a game plan.

>I use born leader to give us all advantage for 1d4 turns.

Sorry, getting drowsy. Would write a better speech otherwise. Still, I think this fits given the disturbing environs we find ourselves in and the atmosphere of doom fighting a purpose-built killer robot.

>Did you really think you could outrun these doors?!
"YES." The cat hissed furiously and threw fists up in the air, glaring at the human like she was the sole reason the world was going to shit. "And YOU. Are you SERIOUSLY complaining about an animal less than quarter of your size not volunteering to be your personal, disposable meatshie-" Kinny's tirade was interrupted by being put down and he hissed and wagged his black tail in impotent fury at that too. "I wasn't running away, I was going to open the door from the outside, but now we're traaaapped!" The infuriated rogue spat on the ground as he meowled and slapped his tail against the floor until the roof started banging right above him. Before completely coming to his senses however, the cat deemed it necessary to theatrically snort at the girl's "last hooman" speech.
>"What do we do? What do we do?! I can't fight that thing! I'll die if try!"
Without wasting any more time, Kinny approached the bobtail, pulled one of his Lightning Daggers out and offered it to the frightened cat. "You don't have to fight. Just stay back and, in case things go really bad, throw this thing at whatever passes for 'security bot' 'round here." The feline spoke, leading the shocked smuggler away from the center of the room. With that done, Kinny turned around to face the source of the sound as he pulled out another L-Dagger.

>If the bot wins initiative and attacks first then I'll use my Reaction and Protection Fighting Style to impose disadvantage on whoever it attacks.
>I'll be using a divine smite if I hit as well, burning a spell slot.

Damn, I didn't really have to write much at all. I thought I missed a lot, turns out I didn't. There isn't really much to prepare. I've already drawn my sword, this is a mostly empty room, I could cast bless or shield of faith but frankly everyone already has advantage and I think I need to save my spell slots for divine smite. I think this will be a DPS race, maybe I'm wrong and the real issue will be beating the bot's AC, but with so many Lucky charges and my Born Leader ability that shouldn't be too much of an issue. If all goes bad then we can simply run around it and have Kinny throw lightning daggers at it until it dies while we sprint away.

Mog was bewildered beyond belief. How strong was this robot? Did it literally dig through meters of concrete and dirt? If so they had little chance of beating it. No, they could kill it, he remembered the bots in the other rooms had been simply stabbed to death, and Kinny's knives could probably short circuit it. With his bravery rekindled Mog took a bold step forward and with an aura of elan briefly rivalling the great wolves of eld let his sword drop from his mouth and stabbed a paw forward onto the robot's chest.

"I think it is you who should be sorry, friend," Mog's voice dripped with sarcasm and disdain as he enunciated 'friend' and gave the bot a little push for emphasis, "I see right here a breach of contract and an enormous amount of theft on YOUR part right here, you've left the street unguarded in a breach of our deal AND you've just stolen HER money!" Mog pointed to Maggie as he spat globs of spittle all over the robot.

"I think the only way you can make up for this is by a hundred year period of indentured service to Maggie her, as she is the only current living custodian of this here bunker." Mog belted out without a care for the insanity of his demand. As he continued to heap abuse on the robot he tracked Kinny out of the corner of his eye, hoping the sneak-thief would be getting up behind the robot to stab him in the back.

If all went well the robot would be bouncing between fighting in two directions at once.

>Roll to intimidate to get the robot to serve Maggie as an indentured servant given his breach of contract. Otherwise just try to distract him for Kinny to sneak attack him. Using Lucky cause I think we'll have enough turns of advantage to win a fight with him anyways if it comes down to that. Only gonna spend one turn doing this talking shit, otherwise we fight to the death.

I don't care anymore if he is out of our league. We just spend practically all of last session just coming up with a solution to our paranoia only to have one of the agents involved that we paid turn out to be the boss for this area, talk about a waste of time. I'll be glad to fail on this roll and just have us duel to the death, we're well suited to DPS racing anyways.

I just checked, rules as written you are correct. I think in older editions you may have had to beat their touch AC, but I haven't checked.

Mog lunged forward, swinging his broadsword in an attempt to decapitate the robot as he did so. The pale light of his Goddess pulsed through the blade, waiting for the cold steel to bite into the mockery of life and unleash its fury.

Only slightly above average for me with my broadsword and using divine smite at 1st level. I'm pretty sure you can output similar numbers if you throw a lightning dagger, though obviously I'm not advocating that at this moment when I'm so nearby.
>>
>>5562537
Counterargument: throw shield.
>>
>>5562545
I'd have to waste an action to do that while we are in the middle of combat, plus there is a chance the lightning destroys the shield or is attracted away from the target to the shield based on the rules as written, depending on the interpretation of the written words. In the future when we are more dispersed fighting multiple opponents or when you have the chance to initiate from a distance before we close in, then you'll get the chance to throw them.

>>5562468
I think you also forgot your sneak attack damage, you get damage from sneak attack don't you?

Sounds like you wanna get electrocuted. *disengages* I just wanted to point out the possibility for the future. Sure as fuck not gonna throw a lightning nade inside a metal vault of limited space.
>>
>>5562551
Sneak attack isn't like the sneak attack from old editions. I'll look it up now, but I'm pretty sure you just have to have the enemy be adjacent to another person friendly to you or you have to have advantage to be able to get the sneak attack.
>>
>>5562551
>>5562555
Yes, I just checked, I am correct. Since the robot is fighting both Kinny and Maggie and myself Kinny gets sneak attack. He also gets it on any attack that he has advantage on. Kinny should roll 1d6 bonus sneak attack damage and have it be applied retroactively, I think.

>>5562553

Mog went tumbling head over heels down the hallway. When he finally stopped skidding and the ringing stopped he let his ears flop up and shook his head, trying to get his senses in order. With some effort he stood up, stumbled and then oriented himself after a brief struggle. He was facing away from the vault, back down the hall towards the lobby, or at least he thought. Turning around he began sprinting back towards the vault when darkness crept up around the edges of his vision and he blacked out.

>Mog is unconscious, his maximum HP is 15, the spell did exactly his hitpoints in damage. I'm making my first death saving throw.

Mog cleared his bleary eyes and lifted his head from where it was plastered against the floor. He worked his sore jaw as he looked about trying to remember what happened. Seeing Kinny with the empty bottle he suddenly remembered their situation.

"Bobby, get out of the room, hurry, run!" he barked out, his words came out incomprehensibly fast and mushy, his enunciation blurred through haste.

Turning to Kinny he put a weak paw on the cat's shoulder and with his as much gratitude as he could muster said "Thank you. You know what to do, throw your dagger when Bobby is clear."

Then he closed his eyes and offered a quick prayer, channelling the warmth of the earth into his friend.

When that was done he ran down the hall to go heal Maggie. His pack wasn't yet ready to meet the Goddess, their time hadn't yet come.

Can you give us any information about the state the robot is in? Not OOC, just the things that our characters (or the cat at least) would notice that would help decide what should we do next. OOC it feels like we're fighting a boss while being heavily underleveled, which is fine, but I'd still want to try and confirm it before deciding what to do next.
>>
>>5567663
You guys did widdle this fucker down to 56 health. It started at 120.
>>
>>5567662
So, we've all left the vault and are currently in a nearby corridor? Sounds like it's time we chuck some grenades in there, the only problem is Mog's shield.
>>
>>5567694
True. You can still chuck regular daggers though if you want.
>>
>>5567699
What sort or movement mechanism does the bot have? I have always assumed it was a wheel, but couldn't find confirmation later. I'm wondering if throwing a bottle of oil could make that bitch flip so Mog has a turn to throw his shield away so it doesn't attract the lightning.
>>
>>5567701
It is still a wheel.
If you still have oil or balberrings (which I assume you do) that will make the robot have to do a dex saving throw, failure ends with him being prone.
>>
>>5567662
>>5562748
Once they were all temporarily safe outside the vault, Kinny showed his Lightning Dagger to to Mog and said. "Get rid of that shield quick, slide it down a corridor or something, so it doesn't attract the lightning. Bobby has one blade too." The cat nodded to the shivering smuggler.
>>5567709

>Throwing the bearings at the bot to keep it inside the vault as long as inhumanly possible

Inventory update: -1000 ball bearings.I'm finally cleaning up my inventory, could you please kindly remind me if we got any (and how much) money since we left the forest? Why yes, I'm long overdue. Procrastination's the name of the game!
>>
>>5567722
>You throw all of your balls at him.
>Surrounding him completely.

Throwing out all ballbearings? Let's see the dex save I have to make is, 8 + your Dex bonus + Proficiency since they are considered Thieves' Tools.
8 + 4 (correct me if I am wrong) + 2 = 14
But since you are using all your ballbearings, practically filling up the floor area around him, meaning there are a bunch of tiny metal balls surrounding him in a 15 feet cone. So I will add a +4 to that save the robot has to make.
Making it..
8 + 4 + 4 + 2 = 20.
The robot has to make a dex save roll of 20 in order to not get prone.

As for money...
20 gold bars that equal up 500 gold a piece.
10 silver bars that equal up to 1000 Silver a piece.
7,000,000 copper coins
14,000 silver coins
4,000 gold coins
And over $20,000,000 in dollar bills alone but that is considered trash.
None of you have this money yet.

I specifically moved away towards Maggie who had been thrown out into the hallway so you could use your dagger. The electricity explosion shouldn't zoom to my shield when it is surrounded by metal like the walls and vault doors, that just wouldn't make sense. It should also zap things closest to the 'release' of the energy, not closest to the person who throws it. I just ordered Bobby clear so she wouldn't get caught in the blast

>>5567722
I can tell you what we got in the first session, but we haven't put a gold value to the random junk we've been looting yet. So most of our money is in the silver bars we looted from the pigs.

>>5567800
Well, that is exasperating. I know I'm late and we gotta move on, but I was gonna throw it further down the hall anyways. I don't want to end up destroying it though.

"Got it, I'll throw it down the hallway. Let it come out of the vault just a tiny bit, we don't want the explosion to melt the gold! One sec-hey! Bobby, what are you doing?!" Mog acknowledged Kinny and began taking off his shield to toss down the hallway when Bobby suddenly grabbed it, trying to pry it out of his grip. Not knowing what she was thinking he struggled to account for the sudden impromptu wrestling match he found himself in while his grip on the shield was awkward.

Is Bobby rolling for her throw as well?
>>
Rolled 4, 3, 3, 1, 1 = 12 (5d4)

>>5567929
I may not be based but I can tell you that 14 damage is better than 8 damage

>>5567911
>>5567929
>Kinny throws his knife.
>20 degrees off his mark but still effective as the steel balls cause a chain reaction.
>Shocking the machine dealing major damage to him.

>Maggie still can't do anything.

>Meanwhile Bobby does as Kinny meowed to him.
>Throwing the lightning dagger straight at the machine.
>>
>>5567938
>The robot is shocked again by the daggers.
>Recieving more damage to it.
>The robot looks very damaged but looks like it is still fuctioning.
>After waiting patiently Mog decides to get ready.
Mog it is your turn.
>>
Rolled 2, 2, 1 + 4 = 9 (3d4 + 4)

>>5567947
Fuck, I think we need 30 damage more to kill it.

Mog handed off his healing potion to Kinny in case he went down again before sprinting forth. His heart sang, his blood boiled, his sword soared. Radiant light burst forth as he struck at the paralyzed robot.

>Rolling damage with divine smite to follow in the next roll.
>>
Rolled 2, 4 = 6 (2d8)

>>5567947
>Divine smite damage
>>
>>5567958
>>5567959
Mediocre.

>I'll back away with my remaining movement, over towards Maggie again as far as I can reach.
>>
Rolled 4 + 2 (1d20 + 2)

>>5567958
>>5567959
>>5567960
>Major damage was given to the robot.
>His metal exterior began to break off.
>His mechanical innards began to show.
>It uses half of it's movement speed to try and get up again.
>It then tries to charge at you once again.
>Using it's extreme speed to tackle you.
>But will the Ballbearing be a problem again?
>>
>>5567963
>The ballbearing cause another problem for the robot.
>Making him prone once again.
Kinny it is your turn.
>>
Rolled 9 + 6 (1d20 + 6)

>>5567963
>>5567964
"lol" said the Cat, "lmao".
Kinny pulled another Lightning Dagger out and threw it at the machine.
>Rolling to hit
Inventory update: -2 daggers (self), +1 potion (from Mog).
>>
>>5567968
He's still prone.
Just roll up 5d4.
>>
Rolled 4, 3, 3, 1, 2 = 13 (5d4)

>>5567969
Thought that was because of Mog's advantage.
>>
>>5567971
>>5567968
>The robot is on the last of his legs.
>Well wheel really.
>A small ticking still coming from it.
>Multiple glitched voices coming out from it's mouth.
>All of them referring to something known as... Redacted.
>Whatever that meant.

>The human is still knocked out.

>Bobby stares in awe and horror as she decides to wait.
>Hoping Mog can finally end this thing that now basically has no face and is just shouting random gibberish.
Mog it is now your turn.
>>
Rolled 20 + 6 (1d20 + 6)

>>5567980
Worried that the machine would explode like one of those metal carriage engines he instead opted to throw a javelin. Not even pausing to see if he hit he moved over to Maggie, pressing his paw to her neck to see if she still had a pulse.

>Rolling to hit with thrown javelin.
>Moving over to Maggie, will heal her next turn.
>>
>>5567987
Roll critical damage.
>>
Rolled 5, 3 + 4 = 12 (2d6 + 4)

>>5567980
>>5567987
Holy shit, a crit! Doubled damage babee!

>Damage roll.
>>
>>5567987
>>5567992
>With one last mighty throw from the wolf, the javelin soon rushes towards the robot's head.
>Finally killing it.
>It finally just lays there.... motionless.
>Finally no longer speaking with many tongues.
>The battle is over.
You guys are now free to do whatever you want.

>As Mog feels Maggies neck he can still feel a pulse.
>Bobby though is still concerned about the machine.
"It's no longer moving or making a sound... Kinny go check if it's actually dead. Mog has to heal that girl."
>The bobtail orders to the cat.
"I mean you are the one that struck it first. If anything that gives you more right to be dead. Plus... if you check, I'll let you get a 30 second headstart of looting this place."
Kinny, Mog, what do you do?
>>
>>5568004
Pale moonlight pulsed from the lupine's paws. Burst eardrums healed, shattered bones mended, torn flesh knitted itself back together. Feeling an intake of breath Mog gave Maggie's face a few friendly licks to welcome her back amongst the living.

>Healing Maggie for 7 points of damage with Lay on Hands
>>
Taking a quick belated lunch break. Will be back in 40 minutes.
>>
>>5568015
>As soon as you heal her, Maggie then springs up.
>Breathing in heavily as if she just got her breathing back.
"WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!"
>She screams out.
>As if she can't control the volume of her voice.
"MY EARS ARE RINGING! MY CHEST IS HURTING! THERE'S SO MUCH NOISE AN-"
>She then looks in front of her.
>Seeing the now destroyed robot.
>She looks over the wolf and cats.
"DID YOU GUYS TAKE CARE OF THIS?!"
"Good whatever gods you worshipped! Do you have to be so loud?!"
>Bobby adds in as she starts covering her own ears.
>>
Rolled 7 + 6 (1d20 + 6)

>>5568004
>If anything that gives you more right to be dead.
Kinny stared daggers at the cat. He stared at her. Finally, he turned back and started walking towards the dead machine. Halfway there the rogue looked back again, and stared at bobtail. "I hope you understand this means no fish for you if we find any." Kinny said in grave voice and walked up to the shredded bot. The cat sniffed the thing and wheezed at the smell of heated metal and burnt plastic. The faceless head wasn't a nice sight, either... Regardless, he slowly stepped on the top of bot's chest and carefully looked inside.
>Rolling Investigation to determine what cause the machine to fail
>>
>>5568024
>It's pretty obvious the robot is dead.
>Doesn't even tick tock anymore.
>It is in fact dead.
>Looks like Bobby will not be getting any fish...
>Or thirty seconds of looting the whole back.
Kinny go ahead and take what you want from it.
"be dead." Dammit I to type check if it is dead. I have no fucking clue how I even came up with be dead. Then again this is Bobby, she seems to have a hate boner for Kinny in some instances and sometimes doesn't.

The poor old wolf pushed his ears flat when the old one started yelling like a senile dog who's hearing had expired. Silently he nodded to her query, not daring to uncover his ears in her presence. When she kept yelling he ran over to the dead robot to collect his javelin and look through the corpse for gold while Kinny took his first pick of the loot.

>Recovering my Javelin.
>I'll tear the robot apart and loot the metal scraps for valuables metals or unique items.
>>
>>5568045
Roll me a 1d4+1
>>
Rolled 4 + 1 (1d4 + 1)

>>5568050
>>
>>5568067
>After getting your spear out and scrapping the hell out of the robot you were able to get a few good materials out of it.
Gained 1 wheel
Gained 2 thick sheets of metals
Gained a strong metal rod
Gained a robotic eye
>Could all be useful to you if you ever find a blacksmith.

G'night Kinny. And no worries, I think we all write shorter and less elaborate posts when we are in combat to speed things along.
