It has been 100 years since ancient beings, known as the Old Ones, walked the Earth with their two strong feet. Now they are gone and we animals now rule the remains that they left behind. With our new knowledge of sword and sorcery, we were able to survive in peace for a while, but then came the three factions.
The Apes: Strong giants, claiming to be as just as the old ones and believe they should be the ones to rule over the new world.
The Pigs: An intellectual but slothful group who wish to rule the world with an iron hoof and remain kings while the others remained as dumb animals.
Then there the Lizards: A fast and large group that want to set the world a blaze. Trying to forget the harsh past that the old ones left.
All three sides wishing to go war and destroy one another to bring in what they believe to be true peace.
But, unbeknownst to everyone, there was another group. One that was trying their best to find a way to heal everyone. To bring back order.
You found it.... and now you are taking care of it.

A D&D Homebrew Adventure.

Due to it being July 4'th (Which I absolutely forgot about), the session will be moved to Thursday for this week.
I am just lucky that I found enough time to post this. Sorry everyone.
>>
>>5703164
Oh cool
>>
>>5703164
See you then. Enjoy the festivities! (I also totally forgot about July 4th given that I am not American.)
>>
So first thing that happens when I wake the fuck is I get called into work. Can't say no either because they need me. Sorry guys we have been moved to this coming Tuesday.
>>
>>5704749
Alright. Thursdays are usually uncertain for us anyways. Once we get back into the habit of getting proper sessions going then hopefully we can keep it up. See you Tuesday.

Last time of Rise of the Awakened
>After killing some owlbear the gang find themselves going to sleep and waking up in jail.
>They were prisoners of the Forest Guardians only to escape after a bit of trial and error.
>And after seeing what their druid can do to animals, they mostly plan to escape but not after getting their equipment back.
>Pretty sure they already killed half the group so they only have a few more members left.
>Will our heroes survive, we're about to find out now.

I'm here, still waiting for a QM response to >>5697726 the last of my IC posts from last thread.

I imagine it'll be a little while before both Kinny and Ursus show up. Maybe.

>>5709224
Sorry for the late response, had something I needed to do.

>You end successfully sawing off the deer's antlers.
>While it was still painful, it didn't lead to death.
>First time for the old timer.
>The deer, even though he is in pain is still feeling pain, is at least thankful he gets to live.

>>5709230
>Meanwhile on the other side, Kinny gets a question from the human.
"Hey Kinny."
>Maggie whispers to the cat.
"Question, how far can you throw that dagger? Because if you can throw it far, think you can hit that lake over there?"
>Maggie then points at the watering hole near them surrounded by raccoons.
"Be a good way to take care of a lot of people."
"And get us noticed."
>Jenkins interjects.
"Kinny don't listen to her. Sure it seems like a good idea but it's also a good way to get us to be noticed. Mog, Ursus back me up here."
Take the shot?
>>
>>5709236
Based heavy weight champion. How did you bring him down? Kinny jumped down with intent to Ultrakill-slam the retard into the ground, which given he's just a cat, meant causing him to fall over on his stupid face. Would be funny if Ursus jumped down as well, but that would result in turning that deer's spinal column into dust.
>>

"I'm trying to convince Kinny to throw one of his electric daggers in to that lake down there."
>She says as she points to it.
"I thought it would cause like a chain reaction and take out a bunch of guards. You know make it a bit easier for you guys."
"Easier yes. But we would be spotted immediately if we did it."
>Jenkins points out.
>>
>>5709244
How many guards are in the water?
>>
>>5709238
>>5709244
Kinny jumped off the unconscious(?) deer's head and began listening to what Maggie had to say. The cat looked at the lake and just nodded along until Jenkins threw his 5 cents about the toaster bath. "Like you're the expert on throwing daggers at good times here." The rogue was still sour about the fox's fuck-up. "But fair point." Kinny then looked at the smartest person in the group (except for himself).
>>5709224
"Shall we electrocute those raccoons now? We might not get a chance like this again." The cat then scratched his ear. "In all honesty I'm not sure whether we were going to take this stealthily or just cave their skulls in anyway?"
Also OOC, the reason I tend to just ask you to decide on Kinny's behalf is because I'm damn indecisive and my go-to would usually involve the short-term murder-hobo approach. Which I imagine would be annoying, at least in the long run.
>>
>>5709246
>Maggie then looks again.
"It looks more like they are drinking it."
>The human points out.

>>5709250
"I did what was necessary to kill them."
>Jenkins defended himself.
"Better to do use something at it's max potential than to not use it all. I technically saved us."
>>

>>
we will probably still have to fight them iether way let’s hope they get stunned if we shock em

>>5709243
>>5709244
No worries. I may have to take a break from the keyboard for an hour or two later this morning, I'll be back though, and will try and let you guys know beforehand.

"Honestly, would we be spotted immediately? We are high up, if we all ducked into this cavern and Kinny used his low profile and stealthiness then isn't it possible they might mistake the dagger to have been thrown from the narrow "bridge" over there, or from somewhere on the forest floor where anyone could be hidden? I say go for it, it is worth a shot, same for the guys by the waterfall. There's only a few raccoons and deer left and they are all separated by distance and elevation, we can take them if they notice us. We'd have to descend to the forest floor and confront the majority of them anyways, that is if they aren't still rioting over their Q-Wolf cult shit and don't end up killing each other." Mog opined after a moment of contemplation.
>>
>>5709250
>>5709262
"The only reason not to is that I had hoped to talk to the leader this deer mentioned, clear up any misgivings we may of had with each other and just end this peacefully. Not sure of our chances at succeeding at that though, and if we did talk then it would surely mean we'd be facing all of them united if such talks failed. Thoughts?" Mog added as a quick afterthought.
>>

>>5709258
"I technically told you not to throw it and the general consensus was that you're not to be given dangerous objects in the future!" Kinny responded to the ginger cat-and-dog hybrid.
>>5709265
>>5709272 (just a reminder)
"Personally, I couldn't care the fuck less about killing these insane MONSTERS after seeing their living trees collection." The cat responded, his fur promptly standing straight for a moment as he went over the animal-made nightmare they saw not so long ago.

"I've already stated my thoughts. This cult needs to be purged and I don't think even your goddess/es would take an issue with it." Kinny said in a grave voice. "As far as I'm concerned-" the rogue quickly pulled out his dagger as if he was to throw it, just to see who would flinch. "Just kidding, but you all better move back so you don't get spotted when I actually throw this bitch-breaker in the pond."

>The fucking retard of raccoons were soon doing a victory chant towards their anonymous wolf overlord.
>As they continued to do so, this gained some attention to the yellow deer from below.
"Must be some defectors. Happens at least once a year. Elyard go deal with them."
"Right away brother."
>The deer on the right seems to deal with the group near the waterfall as he moves towards them.
>>5709272
"That would be Kuma. His barrier is held up by the three deer below us, The ones with yellow antlers."
>The de-antlered deer answers.
"If you wish to speak with him you might have to cut their antlers off as well."

"Fair, no one here doubts their capability for evil or how they wronged us. But do we really care THAT much if it was apes? Yes, the apes are still people and deserving as of as much dignity as any of us, but the fact remains that they are one of our principal enemies. Do we want to remove one of the enemies of our enemy? One that may be returning with an alliance with the wolves of Canis Lupin? Though to be fair, that last bit strikes me as a bit unlikely. Anyways, food for thought." Mog replied, then stepped aside, leaving the final decision to Kinny.

>>5709311
Mog bodily dragged the de-antlered deer inside the cave in a rush to get out of Kinny's way and hide. Letting go once he was inside he leaned down to whisper in the ungulate's ear. "Sorry pal, looks like we're doing this the hard way for at least a little longer. I guess we'll be coming to an accord with what remains of your buddies from a position of strength when this is all over...or not at all if we fail."

>>5709318
"We're inside Kinny, you may wanna tuck low and hide yourself once you let your dagger fly!" Mog stage-whispered over to the cat.

>Though you didn't exactly hit the lake you did in fact hit one of the raccoons drinking the water.
>What you knew was actually the Lightning Dagger, they saw a raccoon face the wrath of god as he smites the heretic then and there.
>Some were smart to get the fuck away from the lake as soon as the charred raccoon enter but some were still dumb enough to stay.
>Getting electrocuted by the remains of the raccoon.
>Dying in the process.
>Didn't go as planned but you did at least do some damage by killing off a few more raccoons.
>>
>>5709399
Even if it misses you can probably still try again if you have another lightning dagger, since no one saw you. You shouldn't have to reroll stealth each time you attack, I think the QM has to roll perception and beat your stealth roll you notice you now.
>>
Rolled 11 + 1 (1d20 + 1)

>>5709413
>>5709415
>>5709399
Well, nevermind about trying again, they backed off from the water. Still, not a bad result.

Mog looked around, they hadn't actually been inside this cave before. Maybe some of Mog's missing armoury was stashed here.

>Rolling Perception to look around and examine this cave and its contents.
>>
>>5709404
"Shit." Kinny's ears went down in slight embarassment as the one unfortunate raccoon was being turned into charcoal and his hisses echoed in the background. The cat turned to the rest of the party as they were peeking from the cave. "I blame the sleep spell, my paw was numb and the wind here is weird." But there was no wind, they were in a canyon. Kinny joined others in their hiding spot while more and more hissing emerged from down below as three more raccoons joined the process of slow-cooking.
Strangely peaceful.

>>5709418
>With a little bit of looking around you do end up finding a broadsword.
>Not just any broadsword it was Mog's Broadsword.
>Now placed within...
>Some sort of gelatinous creature.
>Seems to be sleeping comfortably with it in the being.
>Looks vile... yet strangely friendly.
"Oh that's just Harold. He's friendly for something that came with the lizards. You can take that broadsword if you want."
>>

Great, just great. A gelatinous cube. My sword better not be getting nerfed as we speak from the slime acid. Pretty sure 5e magic weapons are supposed to be pretty durable if not invincible, would suck for it to get sundered. Do I even recognize the cube for what it is?

Mog listened closely to the deer's explanation, suspicious of the captive for fears of an escape attempt, doubly suspicious upon hearing it came from the DAMNED LIZARDS!

>>5709424

>>
>>5709450
What super insight does Kinny garner with his 20? >>5709443 What eldritch secrets does the cat unveil?! *Crackle lightning*

Mog relaxed upon recognizing the deer's lack of panic at being touched by the slime and Ursus's nonchalant behaviour around the creature. He went to recover his sword, giving a final glance at Kinny before he did to see if he had any last minute input on the creature from the bestiary that no doubt dwelt within his feline mind from years of flesh smuggling.
>>
>>5709443
>Kinny also knows that this creature has healing properties.
>Since the creature is very popular with pups, kits, and whatever you call lizard children.
>It is also considered a good delicacy.
>Especially since the creature's indestructible nature makes it impossible for it to run out of consumable material.

I'll wait to see if Kinny shares what he remembers with the rest of us before assuming that we know the info QM revealed. >>
>>5709454
>>5709463
When Mog looked at Kinny he thought he saw the feline's orange eyes glow for a second, before the cat looked at him and the strange glow was gone as soon as it appeared. "This thing's not dangerous, it's just some self-regenerating slime that rich cats like to use as beanbags for kittens and such. Some also claim it has healing properties... which given the look of your sword, must also work on metals?" The arcanacat shrugged and petted the slime. "Maybe we should take him with us to fix our stuff?"
>>
>>5709470
"But Harold is the goddess' and the druid's pet."
>The deer interjected.
>His horns now grown back to perfection.
>Though not magically turned on.
>Keeping his promise.
"I'm sure neither of them would want Harold to be taken away."
>>
>>5709470
>>5709463
Mog shrugged. "Sure, why not. Ord, Potato, carry this thing will you?"

Making sure the deer was bound securely without the rope biting so deeply that it'd cut off bloodflow Mog stepped outside.

"Should we head back up top to check the final cave that the turquoise deer unlocked? Or ambush the lone deer going to put down the cultists?"
>>
>>5709476
Not to mention having a bigger target
>>
>>5709476
>>5709481
Turning around to look at the people talking to him he gave an exasperated sigh upon seeing the regrown horns.

"Look, just keep your promise, alright? If you end up killing any one of us then your fate is gonna make those apes in that fucked up tree cave look like a paradise compared to what is gonna happen to you buddy." Mog growled out.

Turning to Ursus he said "Fine, we can come back for it if you insist, but personally I think you and I are big enough that taking a slime with us won't make that much of difference in how often people notice us. Ord and Potato can carry it well enough I'm sure."

"Lets head to the turquoise door as planned, but while we head inside Kinny should toss another dagger into the other lake, we have a chance to finish off most of the raccoons. Hurry, before that deer catches on!"

>We head to the turquoise door that the re-grown antlered deer shut off, while we head inside Kinny (if he agrees) tries to zap another batch of raccoons. If he doesn't then we just check inside the caverns for now.

While he waited for a response he glanced at Ursus and nodded his head sideways towards the seeds, urging the wise bear to take a look and see if there was anything useful to be gleaned from the bearers of life. If nothing else, the warband could safe guard the seeds to sustain a future rebellious population against the apes, and feed the needy and hungry when war inevitably gripped the land once more.

For a time silence reigned.

...

...

...

In the stunned silence the air was robbed of any distractions to prevent Mog from seeing the kindly lie for the lie it was.

...

Then all hell broke loose.

Mog howled, loud and clear. His anguish rippling off the walls. He howled until his voice went hoarse, then howled again. When he was done he ranted "The Moon...SULLIED! Her virgin flesh tarnished by those MONSTERS! The Heavens...invaded! A war in Heaven! A WAR IN HEAVEN! The souls disturbed from their rightful rest! Called to war in their silver years! No wonder she is so scarred! Look at her pockmarks! That we still receive her grace is a wonder! No wonder that the spirits return so unbalanced to their mortal coils to wander the Earth in befuddlement! The end of days was nearly upon us so long ago! Aaaaauuuwwwh!"

He drew his sword, its keen edging singing with thaumaturgical might. He leapt over the seeds, stabbing the cavern wall. With effort he ran the circumference of the cavern, dragging the naked blade through stone, scarring the fundamental constitution of the Earth in his rage. The scrape of metal against sword was like claws on a chalkboard, a heavy bass thrum emanating from the blade as the magic pulsed through the air and into the cavern walls.

Enraged, he ran outside, running in a circle chasing his own tail until he had collapsed from exhaustion. He knew in his heart that if he went longer he wouldn't have the wherewithal to restrain himself from howling into the open air and alerting everyone to their presence even more openly, or from slaughtering the cultists below without discrimination. So he spent his energy chasing himself and burning out his feelings until he couldn't feel anymore.

Hearing the heavy tread of the bear come up beside him Mog's ear perked. Then he rested his head on his paws and watched the chaos below as the deer investigated mountains of corpses. They sat for a time in companionable silence.

After awhile Mog broke the silence to say "The dragons really have no consciousness or grace amongst their kind, y'know? It is surely no mistake that whenever a lizard ventures apart from their elder masters that they are suddenly perfectly ordinary flawed animals, capable of good or ill. But under the thrall of the mighty wyrms they burn and pillage without mercy or question. They have to go I think. They wage a war on all of us, both on a metaphysical level and in the way most of us are acquainted."

He waited to let Ursus express his bromides and reassurances, then changed the subject abruptly. "So, how were the seeds? What'd you find? Anything good?

>Jenkins on the otherhand was not.
>Jenkins then went up to the bear, cat, and fox.
"We're sure to get spotted now. We need to just leave. You got your weapons and a few other important things. Plus we did a lot of damage to these barbarians! We need to get the fuck out of here."
>Though Jenkins had a point you were still missing your guns.

The peace and quiet with Ursus nestled up alongside him came to an abrupt end the sky started to rain raccoons. Jenkins then came and offered his opinion. It took a greater effort than he'd like, but eventually Mog roused his weary mind enough to respond. "We can't let the raccoons keep our guns or the daggers, honestly, either one is almost as bad as the other. Plus, there's still the Giant Slayer, Ursus's Giant War Hatchet, and Tweed's Strong Mace missing, the latter is one of the weapons I would actually consider using as a viable alternative to my sword in the case of a need for a blunt weapon. Not to mention a bunch of mundane weapons of ours are missing, they may not be worth the spilled blood, but they're ours and I'm not sure if I want to leave these guys any weapons to harass people with. We also still have to check the pink caverns."

It was unfortunate, but in the name of reclaiming their property it seemed bloodshed was inevitable. If these guys didn't have their share of monstrous deeds to their name Mog would honestly hesitate to pursue battle over some pieces of metal, enchanted or not. There was so little time to think, and his companions didn't seem in the mood for mercy. For his part Mog still vacillated between indignation at this whole affair and the feeling that they were ultimately just harming allies with different methods in the fight against the great Factions. Oh well, he put his opinion out into the room, time to hear what everyone else had to say.

>Just like the one Maggie was given.
>None of them looked charged at all.
>Some of them even look broken.

>Now the question was...
>Why the hell does a druid need polymorph rings if they are able to transform through wildshape?
>>
>>5715639
That cannot be a good sign
>>
>>5715639
"Maggie, do you know anything about this? I don't know why a druid would need polymorph rings, as they can transform through their wildshaping magic. Wizards if they are strong enough are also able to polymorph. Do you think my earlier wild guesses about this 'druid' being a human are true? Maybe the trees are some strange human technology rather than evil magic?" Mog asked, unsure of what he was seeing. He felt off balance somehow, this just kept getting stranger and stranger.

Still, he made sure to pocket all the rings, just in case.

>Take the rings, even the broken fragments.
>>
>>5715642
it’s beginning to look like that
>>
>>5715642
>Maggie looked over the rings.
"I barely understand my ring Mog. What makes you think I know how all these rings work. As for the trees, I highly doubt these trees are technology. They look too real. Though I do think you are onto something. If this otter druid is in fact a human then what is their connection with the trees? Especiallly if they have the power to turn living beings into trees. There has to be some sort of science to it. Wait. That polymorph spell, can it be like thrown onto someone? You know can it's user transform other people?"
>>
>>5715658
That’s a terrifying idea
>>
>>5715660
Either way let’s beat feet and go get our guns if the Druid is actually human than they probably know the danger they pose
>>
>>5715658

Mog nodded seriously "A terrifying idea indeed, Ursus. As for the Polymorph spell...I'm honestly not sure. I think maybe wizards can cast it in a more freeform way than a druid's wildshape, but it isn't my domain of magic, an entirely different arena if you will. Maybe they can cast it on others, I think I heard something like that a long time ago."

"That doesn't exactly give us a big incentive to surrender, now does it?" Mog muttered under his breathe. What a dumb deer.

Still, as much as the old wolf was a pragmatic soldier he was also a paladin. He'd keep out of the duel and let Ursus have his fun for now. That would all change should Ursus be mortally wounded or if someone else intervened. For now he'd do as Ursus asked and secure their exit, just in case.

Climbing up the vines back to the cliff edge above he took note of the pawholds in the cliff face in order to assist the others up. When he reached the top he took out one of the daggers they'd recovered and hammered it into the rock to tie the his rope around, before lowering said rope down to the lower level where Kinny was. From there Kinny could lower it down to Ursus if they needed to make a quick escape.

>Prepare our escape. Note the cliff-face details so it is easier to climb if a roll is needed under pressure. Then set up a rope for the others.

D'awww, thanks you guys. Sorry you feel like leaving Kinny, but I do understand. 5e isn't the most interesting DnD edition and the vast, vast majority of RPs on any site never finish owing to people flaking and losing interest, they are a heavy time commitment after all. If you do decide to quit, whether suddenly with or without, I think it'll be okay. In terms of character role your character would be easy to reintegrate if you decided to join again in the future, since he could leave on a smuggling mission to help our cause or just get cold feet and decide to do something safer for awhile or even just become another NPC in the party for a time. Even if you are pretty important to the party, especially since you are "founding member" so to speak and know Mog the longest, and were there to "rescue"/kidnap Maggie and witness a bunch of the big revelations so far.

>>
>>5720504
I'm good to keep going if you are, as long as we have two players aside from the QM it is fine. Now that we know what we know and the basics of the world are set up and Maggie essentially has a cast of NPCs around her aside from the PCs, theoretically literally any or all of the PCs (me included) could take a hiatus if new PCs joined to replace us. Like I just said to Kinny and Ursus, at this point any of us could smoothly transition into NPCs as "logistical" members of the party or fuck off to take a vacation with the excuse that our characters are getting burnt out or are getting cold feet.

The cat pulled out a blazing knife to show it to Ursus, he was seemingly oblivious to what the bear has really meant by 'not being drenched in blood'. "How are you feeling, though? >The one and only deer guarding it looks at the situation.
"Shit! One of the gates to the Omega Weapons are open! Code Yellow!! I repeat code Yellow!! All deer come to the center cave!!!"
What do you do now?
>>
>>5720531
Wait are you saying you interfered in the fight? I’m not really mad mind you the guy was advocating for the things we have seen and that immediately means you lossed any honor you think you had
>>
>>5720535
Ursus raises an eyebrow, who wants to bet the guns are there
>>
>>5720535
"Hey! Ord, Potato! Go fetch those weapons the raccoons dropped for us!" Mog shouted back up towards Bobby's lackeys.

Turning back to the party he said "I guess we know which cave holds the guns now. The triple barrier around that one cave kind of gave it away, but now we know for sure. I guess we ought to finish off the rest of these 'paladin' deer."

>>5720536
Mog shrugged. "I was setting up our escape like you asked. I was just wondering if Kinny interfered, he isn't a scrupulous as me or you. I can't see magic without casting a spell, but I am familiar with its trappings and Kinny has suddenly gained magical abilities. I thought he might have interfered, but I honestly wasn't paying super close attention, I was setting up the rope escape and all that." he replied nonchalantly.

It didn't feel great to rob Ursus of any elation he may have felt for winning a tough duel, but of all the animals in the party Mog thought the bear was the most likely to take it well, he seemed to barely have any ego to speak of and was wise beyond his years it seemed.
>>
>>5720545
Eh this is survival not a game of how ever we go about it besides I didn’t lay down the rules of the fight I just said we would fight each other, I said nothing about other people using magic Ursus smiles a cheeky smile
>>
>>5720530
"Well, I'm just glad you beat his ass, then." The cat then walked away from the bear, not sure whether it was wise to mention what he had done.
>>5720531
"I really don't know what's going on either, these things sort of just come to me instinctively. Maybe this place is rubbing off on me." Kinny shuddered a little. "Guess we'll see if I still can use these tricks out of the crater."
>>5720536
"It's called accelerationism, Ursus. I merely accelerated your victory and prevented you from sustaining unnecessary injury by making that clown loose his focus." Kinny attempted to explain the bigger picture to the bear. "And besides, if he didn't look my way, nothing wouldn't happened, clearly his fault, and his frozen tail."
>>5720535
>>5720545
Before Ord or Potato could step in, Kinny slid into the loot pile and began going through it. "Alright guys, shall we split the daggers?" The rogue grabbed the lightning blades and slid them into his backpack and pulled the fire daggers he found earlier out.
>changing 12 daggers, 7 Ldaggers, 6 Fdaggers and 1 Gun to
>28 daggers, 11 Fdaggers and 1 Gun
(Kinny has 2 Fdaggers, 12 Ldaggers and 1 Sound Dagger)
>>
>>5720535
We should probably get our guns and ammo and then get out

>Ord and Potato soon arrived along with the others.
>They all their own little army prepared to strike.
>Maggie immediately eyeing the gun.
"Does that have bullets?"
>Maggie immediately asks.
>Meanwhile Adler went over to Ursus noticing the fresh cut he had.
>Adler then started whispering to Harold the slime.
>Who immediately went on to the big bear.
>His cut not starting to heal.
>His fur growing back in as well.
"Did that help you?"
>Adler asks the bear.
>The enemy group start to form towards the center.
What do you do?
>>
>>5720552
Yes that did thank you Adler, btw you are doing good (Ursus is attempting to raise the deer’s self asteem)
>>
>>5720552
How many enemies are there? And why do they still want to fight?
Damn, I actually had written asking Ursus if he wants me to get Ord and Potato to bring the slime, but then I saw Mog describe the fight as so one-sided, that I thought Ursus didn't get cut even once, lol.
>>
>>5720548
"Sure, give half of the dagger that you aren't keeping to Ursus and the other half to me. Oh, and if you see a fancy dagger made out of boar bone and capped with a squirrel skull for a pommel and rubies in the eyes then give it to me, that is a trophy of mine from back in my soldiering days that I took from a tough foe. It's sentimental you see, I first awakened my powers and heard the Goddesses voices in my ears during that duel, rather suddenly too, kinda like how you just randomly developed magic earlier today Kinny. Though I guess I had more lead up to becoming a paladin, since my parents were training me before our separation and I had begun learning from our army chaplain. Anyways, digressions aside, these fuckers seem to have stolen it, so keep an eye out!" Mog rambled back, his gaze distracted as he kept a vigilant eye out for any ambushers looking to capitalize on the party's ease after victory, a long habit borne of experience.
>>
>>5720552
>>5720555
>>5720559
Up to you guys to split 28 Daggers, 11 Fire Daggers and 1 Gun between Ursus, Mog and the NPC party.
>>
>>5720558
Nah, Ursus both gave and took some hits, that is why I described it as a stalemate, I think they started missing near the end until you helped, iirc.

>>5720552
Seeing as Kinny had nabbed all the loot ahead of the lackeys, Mog instead ordered the strong-cats to tie up the raccoons instead.

"C'mon, if you guys are ready then lets go kill those two deer blocking our guns from being accessed." Mog said, nodding off in the ungulate paladins direction.

>Go kill the lone deer in front of the two caves in the middle.
>>
Be right back. May be half an hour or more, maybe less, maybe more.
>>
>>5720562
I gotta say, I just was Ursus maul the shit of that deer and not get hit more than once. Must've skipped my mind since I was reading up from 2 threads ago to be up to speed today.

>Though one carried a longsword while the other carried a shortsword.
>They look onto the frozen corpse of their brother.
"Tis a shame. It seems dear Jericho was killed dear Justin. But he will live on through the trees."
>One deer coldly says.
"It seems that our dumb raccoon fucks gave one of the omega weapons to the cat. They must be fed to the trees as well."
"Seems that way dear Johnathan. Tell me how shall we kill these mother fuckers?"
"Simple dear Justin, we slice them up."

Fun fact
Kodiak bears can reach speeds of 25 mph when running over a 2-mile distance. But if they feel threatened, Kodiak bears can pull off a short sprint at 40 mph.

"What's with the 'dear' shit? This supposed to be a fuckin' pun or are the two of you bangin' or something?" Mog yelled at the two deer, interrupting their shtick before their smug banter gave the moonchaser a headache.

>>
>>5720616
I would if the stats for punching wherent ass
>>
>>5720618
Maybe if we can get knuckle dusters
>>
>>5720616
Honestly, Frostbane is pretty decent, 2 dice for smoother distribution (less swingyness) and a neat crit effect. The problem is that not only are your stats somewhat mediocre so your attribute (which are a huge part of your character and damage potential in 5e iirc) boosts to attacks are low, but that Frostbane actually disallow you attribute boosts to damage in the first place. (in this case STR)

So your damage ends up be middling at best. Frostbane thus works best for a character with low stats actually, it is decent on your but not great. The benefit is that crits seem to actually literally be instant kills, not the "harmless freezing" trope, but full on "you are frozen solid and killed", which is great now that we know that.

If you decide to take the Champion (I think it was called that?) subclass instead of the magic fighter thing or the Battlemaster subclass (the best one by most accounts) then you could potentially crit on 19 or 18 eventually iirc. 10 or 15% chance to insta-kill is pretty rad honestly. Food for thought.

A monk bear or something could be cool, go all natural and be as an animal should be and rip and tear with claws and teeth alone.
>>
>>5720616
>>5720618
lmao whoops.

I responded to Kinny thinking he was Ursus. My bad, lack of sleep catching up to me I guess. This >>5720624 was addressing the correct post but whenever I say (you) I meant to address Ursus, not Kinny.
>>
>>5720624
I mean bears irl peel their prey like a banana, in this situation tho the sapient decent bears have changed a lot so they aren’t 1 to 1
>>
>>5720627
Besides we have the benefit of tool use and the ability to use martial art (and I don’t mean kung fu because martial art means combat training) combat, an axe is a perfect weapon because it focuses alot of kinetic energy into a single point the axe head, and a bear’s natural habitat is the woods, having a war axe just makes sense
>>
>>5720628
also it allows me to do unconventional things like hook my axe on a deers antlers and pulling
>>
>>5720627
True. Liquid Nihm does seem to have physiologically changed us.

>>5720628
True about the tool use and martial arts. (I know what you mean about martial arts, I'm a practitioner myself, or I guess I should say was.)

The axe is a good weapon, though I will note that a war axe cannot function as well as a woodcutting axe for chopping wood. They are built for different things, the angle of the axe head is different on a wood cutting axe and wood cutting axes are actually heavier than war axes.

>>5720629
Yep. I think being a Battlemaster would fit your character a lot. Have you thought of which subclass to pick?
>>
>>5720634
I have and I also was thinking battle master

Quest archived, don't forget to upvote, yada yada.

Hope they fix your wall soon and do a good job QM. We've run out of quest original art I think, so you may have to go back to other images. Though I think there was one last piece by Ursus of Mog, but it was sideways, so it'll have to be rotated, it was near the bottom of thread 5 I think.

Make sure to make the new thread before Tuesday so that we have a heads up when ever you are finally ready to run the quest again. See ya all next time guys! Maybe we'll have better luck when summer is over.
