    Continuation
    >> Comissar Wibble 04/13/10(Tue)06:51 No.9163557
    Re-posting my last:

-Knowing my boltgun is the most effective weapon against these bastards, I switch my fire without pause, taking aim at the closest one's face and giving him a face-full of .75 cal rounds. The Boltgun has a kick, but thankfully my augmetic arm can take the most of it.

Seeing the troops rush out of the building, I point with my free hand at the Chaos Marines. Having taken out one years before, I give the Guardsmen what advice I can.
"CONCENTRATE FIRE ON THEIR EYE LENSES! DON'T LET THEM GET CLOSE WITH THOSE NOISE WEAPONS. IF YOU HAVE EAR-PLUGS, NOW IS THE TIME TO SLAM 'EM IN!"

Sadly, I don't have any ear-plugs, so I decide to concentrate on attack instead of defence. I know it can't be long before my Boltgun runs dry, and I've only got three other clips left - not good. Better finish this quickly, because if I have to stop to reload I'm already dead.-

I hope the spotter wasn't our marksman. If not, have everyone reload and do covering fire once the space marines stop firing. Then the marksman takes several shots at the eyes. Any grenades left? At least the molotovs reduce their vision.
    >> Anonymous 04/13/10(Tue)06:54 No.9163571
Did anyone archive the last thread? I could do so, though I don't know how.

Do the sound attacks affect us even when we have cover? How long 'til we can't fight?

    >>9163548
Since we're out of grenades, wait until they stop firing at our positions. Have the Russ take them out. As soon as they're not firing at us, have everyone pop out and concentrate fire on one of them.

    >>9163564
Grenades used to make exploding farm machinery. Spotter was the mortar spotter, with augmetic eyes.

You order your men to reload quickly. When theres a break in the fire you pop up and start shooting at the spacemarines, yelling at the marksman to aim for their eyes. The space marines sprint for cover, their armor melting slightly in places due to the heat and lasgun shots. Your marksman pins one in the eye, and he goes down. The blood coming from your ears is lessening. The other space marine is behind cover, what do you do?

Leman Russ, load AT. Aim. Fire.

    Lets see him take THAT.

Also, make sure that the downed Marines are dead.
    >> Anonymous 04/13/10(Tue)07:01 No.9163602
    >>9163583
Tell the tank to flank, but not get too close. The marine will probably try to rush us - make sure we're widely spaced and ready to shoot over our cover at a moment's notice. Arrange a spot to regroup if peeps get separated.
    >> Newest-GM 04/13/10(Tue)07:04 No.9163621
You order your leman russ to open fire on the position of the last remaining marine. It hits and destroys the cover the marine is using. The marine runs to another bit of cover. You order your men to open fire on him. One of your men gets lucky and hits him through an armour jount on his leg, he falls down and your Russ lands a shot so close shrapnel takes his head off.

You order your men to make sure the marines are dead. While checking the bodies the marine with one arm and no legs grabs one of your men, the corpsman, and breaks his leg. Your men scramble and the marksman gets a hit through his neck. Lucky you.

    What do you do now?
    >> Anonymous 04/13/10(Tue)07:09 No.9163645
Call command and tell them everything's been taken care of. Mention the marines but downplay physical contact with them so we aren't all purged to avoid heresy. Call for a lift-off.

Have men secure perimeter (also check if mutants are all dead), salvage what they can off the dead, gather those fallen and prepare for evac. Have the medic attend to the wounded.

Congratulate all the men, keep everyone busy, hope to god the commissar forgot about blamming anyone. Give a quiet vox to the tank driver to make himself scarce.
    >> girder 04/13/10(Tue)07:09 No.9163650
    >>9163621
Breath a sigh of relief. Give the men five seconds to do likewise.

After that, check the situation. Have the Russ close up and debrief the crew.

Have the flamers torch the marines' remains (if the flames from the molotivs wasn't enough).

Check to see if the enemy munitions (las-packs) are safe to use. If not destroy them. If they are gather weapons and ammo. Have several of the men head back to the bunker and re-take positions on those weapons emplacements.

    Vox home base, report status.

Lastly, after checking the global situation, deal with the matter of the commissar and the tank driver. Convince the good XO that the tank crew seem to have redeemed themselves, and could yet prove useful (if we can).

    Otherwise, take-up defensive positions.

This, depending on whether or not we can afford to let the tank go, and if we can do it without the commissar noticing us.
    >> girder 04/13/10(Tue)07:13 No.9163680
    >>9163664
By that, I mean don't have the Leman Russ approach use like I said earlier.
    >> Newest-GM 04/13/10(Tue)07:15 No.9163687
You all take a quick breather after heading back to the outpost and taking up defensive positions. YOu call command and tell them of your situation and how you have found noise marines on the planet. The reply is as followed 'hang tight there, we need that vox operational, many of the large bases vox casters where destroyed, your the only thing keeping the global network up. Good work soldier, when things are back to normal I'll see to it your promoted. Prepare a full report for me and wait it out there. Keep constant vox contact, command out'
    >> Comissar Wibble 04/13/10(Tue)07:15 No.9163692
I'm going to light up a lho stick and wander over to the Guardsmen.

    >your the only thing keeping the global network up

    Wow.

Oh, wait. That means we're likely to get attacked!

    Crap!

Call command for reinforcements to strengthen your position, try not to sound TOO desperate.
    >> Newest-GM 04/13/10(Tue)07:17 No.9163704
The comissar approaches you and says 'Well done private, good work for the emperor, but there's still that matter with the coward, how shall we deal with him?

What do you do? (Please give exact speaches, and I'll use the best, wrapping up the campaign here, if anyone want to continue they can, but its been like, 4hrs and its early)
    >> girder 04/13/10(Tue)07:19 No.9163718
    >>9163703
Also, prepare that full report. Ask the commissar if he's got a pen...or any of the paper work necessary.

Or do we just have to give and oral report?

Anyway, have the men secure the perimeter and strengthen the defenses. Build barricades and gather ammo. Pre-sight firing lanes, move the vox to a safer location.
    >> Comissar Wibble 04/13/10(Tue)07:21 No.9163722
"Well, however we deal with him, that Leman Russ is our best bet at survival - I say we execute the tank commander, promote one of the crew and assign a Guardsman to the spot the new commander vacates. That way, his cowardice is punished and we still have a working tank."

"It was the tank that took out most of those traitor Space Marines. Besides, we ought to wait until we can get a replacement driver. And some reinforcements."

    ...

"Although, if it would please you, commissar, you could sit behind him in the tank until you deem him fully redeemed or have to execute him for cowardice. Think of it as a probationary period for the driver."
    >> Anonymous 04/13/10(Tue)07:26 No.9163751
Cowardice is a quality shared in all men - it is what makes us human, and a trait the emperor, for reasons known only to him, chose to impart us with. This man fell prey to it, for which he must be despised. He also returned, and fought against the chosen servants of chaos at great personal risk, for which he must be commended. If he were a mere coward I would be merciless, but he has shown that he wants to redeem himself. Ultimately we must realize that no matter how we may feel about him, he still has use for the Imperium. We can have him lashed, have him demoted, have him work off this dishonor for the rest of his life - but while he has a repentant heart and reproachful soul, I cannot ask you to kill him.

    How's that?
    >> girder 04/13/10(Tue)07:28 No.9163760
    >>9163722
    Or this.

Then again, we might be executing a seasoned officer, so I'm voting for a probation, with the commissar breathing down the officer's neck.
