Torc of Ozymandias
This item acts cursed, in that, once worn, the item cannot be removed save by the appropriate magical means. However, most would not seek willingly to remove the Torc, as wearing it grants a feeling of invigoration, clarity, and seeming invincibility and alacrity, manifested as a +5 to every roll they make. Most, however, do not live to bear witness to the more insidious side of the enchantment - the wearer of the Torc is stricken from all written, verbal, or otherwise recorded historical record. Records concerning them will be struck by natural disaster, torn asunder by random beasts, or simply disappear for no apparent reason. Stories told concerning the wearer will suffer extreme degrees of warping as those telling them invariably butcher the details further and further with each retelling, or forget the story altogether. Even the gods must give a few seconds pause to grasp about mentally for the wearers name. Furthermore, the Torc seeks to prematurely curtail the legend of its current bearer, invalidating any abilities such as Cheat Death which allow an adventurer to make a saving roll against a fatal blow. |
