You live in the forest. While you can't remember having lived anywhere else, you have a sense that it is not your home. You know of parents, houses, and people, but both here and in your memory, there is only X. You have a comfortable treehouse, and you often travel within and even beyond the forest. While the things immediately outside the woods seem to change regularly, you never have that much trouble finding your way back before dark, even from an unfamiliar setting.

You concentrate, and just as you have come to expect, George is right by your side. George is a bear. He is pure white, with a fluffy coat, thick limbs, and a curiously unthreatening face.

    >Imagination -20.
    >Imagination unspent: 50

George paces back and forth, sniffing. Usually, he is much calmer when you find him. He rises up on his hind legs, looking off into the distance.

On the horizon, it is night. In the forest, the sun is high over head. The forest, usually full of activity, is quiet.

The night sky soon reaches the edge of the forest, and continues to advance, the edge of the forest retreating from it. Without moving an inch, you find yourself on the border.

A girl approaches from the shadows.

"See how much of your forest is gone? I'm going to take the rest of it from you too."

Behind her, several shapeless figures move about. You don't remember them being there when she started talking. They slowly advance.

Do we have a way of knowing how much willpower is required to make the save on George? Otherwise we're just guessing numbers. Whatever the case is, we do need to save him. I'll wait on an answer to that before voting on a greentext plan, but I'd suggest we have George and the two central Fogs pile on that Ghost in their midst to try and take it down. If the top Fogs can reach have them take a shot at the upper Ghost.

The fog surrounds the girl, holding her in place. She struggles, gritting her teeth, then stands still, hanging her head.

"I don't know who you are or why you'd bring such horrid creatures here. but I don't think I want to play with you anymore."

"Fine. I don't want to play either. Keep your stupid forest then." She looks you in the eye, but her voice shakes a little bit.

"I don't even know what is happening. It would be so very helpful of you to explain it to me."
If she refuses, have the fog flip her upside-down and shake her. Or not.

"I don't know either! I've been in this place for as long as I can remember. I haven't seen anyone else. I've always been able to go where I like and do what I like. When I came to your forest, I couldn't. I felt you stopping me. I... I thought I could..."

She trails off and looks at the ground.

    "That's all I know."

    "So, you were just scared?"
    Set her down.
"I bet you'd be less afraid if you had a friend."
    Introduce ourselves.

"So, you were just scared? I bet you'd be less afraid if you had a friend."

She is silent, but when you introduce yourself, she mumbles her own name while shuffling back and forth, staring at her feet. It's Mallory.

"I don't doubt that, but.. Why would you try to hurt us? George never did anything bad; We could have been friends you know."

Mallory sighs. "I don't know. Maybe. I don't think so."

"Take me to where you live, I'm curious."

Mallory silently leads you out of the forest, through a hilly area made of clusters of tall, thin, metallic cylinders. On the other side of it is a rather ordinary street, with houses. She walks up to the door of one of them.

"This is the place where I slept last. I don't usually stay in one place for very long."

You find your strength returning. You can feel George out there somewhere, and you can probably summon someone or something else if you need to.

We should make fog-creatures our theme.
Keep one "wisp" (my vote for the name of a basic fog-creature like we had) handy, but keep most of our imagination in reserve. Ask Mallory about what else she's seen out there.

"Why do you not stay in one place? Are you looking for something?"

Mallory tells you as many stories about her travels as she can remember. She seems to prefer to travel from place to place, and remake her surroundings to her liking, in contrast to your history of basing yourself in the forest and mostly leaving it to its own devices. Other than that her stories are all too familiar. Some places are strange, some are mundane. All are empty of all life, save for Mallory and her friends.

"Why do you not stay in one place? Are you looking for something?"

"I think... I was bored. Some of these places are nice, but there's nothing to do in them after a while. And my friends only do... only did... what I told them to. I could send them away, bring them back, order them around, but that's all."

Well, that's nice. We have the beginning of a party!
I guess we just pick a direction and walk? or summon up something to travel in... how about a foggy hot-air balloon?

I was thinking of imagining a door to anywhere else but here; (A la Scott Pilgrim)

She mentioned that she could feel the our presence, maybe we should look for some where we can feel other powers at work?

    >"Well, if we can make these things," Issabella focuses a little bringing back a wisp "Do you think that someone else made all of this?"

You think there will be a hot air balloon just around the corner. You're right. It's big enough for two.

Soon, you're traveling faster than you can remember. Sometimes, when you look away from the landscape for too long, you find that it has changed when you look back.
