I don't think it'll make any difference if we have the common-folk on our side before we try to sway Blackhand, if they all somehow decide to join us then he will probably just dismiss them as simple minded or cowardly, as most of the prisoners are just militia, its unlikely he will give their actions any thought when making his decision. Civil unrest of any kind helps us, even if it's not a full rebellion.

For a open rebellion yes. But any kind of civil unrest weakens Aville's position. Makes them more dependent on Ilythia which the common folk probably resent and strains Ilythia's military so that they are less likely to attack us (or weaker if they do attack us)

That is a problem. One of the reasons that I want to encourage the image of honest and fair, is those traits encourage trade; and if we get merchants to do buses with us they will not be for a war.
If we can offend the nobles (during the prisoner talks) without offending the commoners, then when war comes it will be very unpopular and Aville will be ripe for "a change in management".

If they do that then if would be a good time to ask our allies the caliphate to attack in retaliation. Further more It is unlikely as we are not overtly inciting war, just making it very hard on those nobles (the proclaim at every village thing could be explained as a northerner custom); and we have just made a trade agreement with Ilythia.
