OP amuses me, but in seriousness that level of collateral damage to ensure a purge shows that the Librarian and his cohorts failed in their duty to the Emperor. They should have been able to uncover all traitors, especially with a powerful telepath acting as their leader, and resolve the situation without defaulting to an immediate and complete purge. OP is guilty of gross incompetence at best, his actions having deliberately aided the archenemy. At worst he has been tainted by the warp and is now a pawn of the dark gods.

In either case the correct response is a full purge of OP and all those who stand beside him. Let none survive, lest this cancer spread beyond his brood.

I feel that OP was completely justified in his slaughter of all of his battle brothers.

He weighed the odds and made a judgement call. Whatever the Alpha Legion wanted it was too dangerous to let anyone live to carry it out. Even if that was what they wanted all along!
