>>18972503 I don't know, he has kind of a point. At the very least, the typical story presentation for an Armored Core game completely eschews the use of human figures and faces - sure, you could argue they're just being lazy, but looking at other From games in the same vein (Metal Wolf Chaos, Another Century's Episode) and especially the story advancements of Last Raven, 4, and For Answer, all of which had identifiable characters (relatively speaking), it's clearly a deliberate decision.
Mind you, the official Armored Core manga, Tower City Blade, has plenty of human-focused elements, as does the cancelled OVA and that light novel which formed the basis of some of the PSP remake exclusive parts. Still, this isn't the kind of story From would tell, and to be honest I'm starting to feel like the action and plot is getting a bit too infrequent compared to our character moments.
I mean, I *like* our characters, I like having a team and people we can rely on, but sometimes it gets to be too much, you know? Hopefully AC-Guy's promised plot revelations will change things up a bit and bring back the darkness and intensity of the early moments of the quest. |
