09/28/11(Wed)05:28 No.16451507>>16451413 >>16451403 I personally don't like these things for roleplaying a character as one player (which I presume is the normal assumption for your system) since it artificially pressures you to make certain decisions, but I do think it is suited to community roleplaying, since it structures the character's personality. My preferred method is a 'gimme' system where you just tell the GM you want a gimme, (there should be some resitriction on how many you can take at once, and maybe how often) and in this system the gimme might be a point of determination or chakra or a success or something -- but the GM gets a gimme too, which he might use to say, okay you get your death blow in on their captain but now the reinforcements are here, or the lieutenant spends one on an attack against you in revenge. It's just a method of letting the GM know hey this really matters to my character and he is trying his hardest, without it being too touchy feely, freestyley, but the GM can just say fuck you and have the enemy use it on his defense against your attack. I can imagine the GM taking gimme's against a player as well, were the player would get one in return. I don't think this is such a great method for community play though. In fact, now I don't know why I wrote this out, I guess I just felt like sharing I system that was bumping around my head. |
